Unfortuantely that won't be the case for this game.
There's 2 separate sides, survivors vs killers in an asymmetrical horror game that has perks, maps, different killer abilities etc.
There will almost never be a time where both sides will be having fun at a consistent rate

Since when is the entity AIDING the survivors during the trials?
Breakdown is the power of the entity allowing the survivor to break the hook.
Survivors have infinite stamina and can't die from falling from heights. They can also perform physical abilities such as vaulting and repairing generators without possessing the body/knowledge to do so before.
And also the Entity blocks the killer from following survivors beyond the exit gates.
The entity helps the survivors too

It depends on the Dweet. It’s either a pro player or a total potato who plays them.
Baby Dweets who crouch everywhere and do a butt dance for mercy must be protected.
Store bought cosmetics deck out Dwelfs who point and tbag after a pallet stun deserve to be camped and farmed.
But... Dwelfs are wholesome.

Cant gauge how strong he is if theyre gonna change him anyway. If ppls annoyance when playing him for example is the 3 second cooldown, you cant tell them "dont talk about that though, cuz itll change anyway" when no one knows what itll change to.
Personally...the change to snap out of it seemed kinda odd. They kinda newbie proofed it by minimizing the penalty if you miss a snap out of it skillcheck, which is huge and hard to miss to begin with. It now also puts you back to T1 madness, which kills some of his addons that dont gain use until T2.
I disagree with the choice on nerfing Snap of It. Personally the skill checks and it reverting back to Tier 2 didn't bother me.
I really don't know why they're making the game all about new players and ignoring the experienced players. This is how they'll kill the player base. Experienced players will become too bored as it will be too easy.

Guys remember that I did say at the end that they are changing the 3s cooldown

I think they were probably a SWF, which even still is absurd, as the lowest rank was 7.
They weren't. The rank 7 who was David loaded in separately then the other 2 loaded in together.
2 friends who were both low rank got a rank 1 survivor. Pretty good job so far

You know what my solution is? Checking their steam profiles before hit the ready button.
The problem with this is a lot of the profiles did not show, how many hours they have in the game.
But if you do the checking you will find out that they have a huge problem with the match making.
I have over 300 hours in game and they try to give me teammates that barely have 20 hours. No joke!! So imagine what kind of rank they possibly have with 20 hours in game...
Maybe they doing this on purpose, so we don't have to wait on lobby but I would prefer longer queue time and then a quality match than a short lobby time with a trash match.
Hopefully they change it back in 13 when rank reset. If not, for me it's equal with, devs have no clue where is the problem, which will lead me to an uninstall..

So I love horror movies and I thought it would be fun in categorising the DBD survivors into the classic horror movie tropes. So the categories to place the survivors are:
- Jock
- Nerd/Smart One
- Comic Relief/Fool
- Sex bomb/Freak
- Final Guy/Girl
Survivors can be in multi categories if you wish.
My list:
Jock: David King, Meg Thomas, Steve Harrington, Yui Kimura
Nerd/Smart One: Dwight Fairfield, Claudette Morel, Feng Min, David Tapp, Adam Francis, Nancy Wheeler, Bill Overbeck
Comic Relief/Fool: Ash Williams, Steve Harrington, Ace Visconti, Jeff Johansen, Dwight Fairfield
Sex Bomb/Freak: David King, Steve Harrington, Kate Denson, Jane Romero, Quentin Smith, Feng Min, Laurie Strode
Final guy/girl: Bill Overbeck, Nea Karlsson, Jake Park, David King, Laurie Strode, Yui Kimura
What is your list? :)
Quentin is 100% either a Nerd trope or a Final Boy trope. He keeps to himself so he definitely wouldn't try to be a sex bomb 😂.
Nerd: Dwight, Claudette, Feng, Quentin, Tapp, Adam, Nancy
Jock: Meg, David, Steve
Comic relief: Dwight, Ace, Jeff, Ash, Steve
Sex Bomb: Feng, David, Kate, Jane, Steve, Yui
Final Boy/Girl: Jake, Nea, Laurie, Bill, Quentin, Ash, Nancy, Steve

Yes this is about the new update, the fact that the devs found ruin more of a problem than DS, KEYS, HATCH AND HIT DETECTION TELLS YOU ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT WHO THEY REALLY FAVOR, especially their wording for the new update, please go take a look at it if you havent already but their wording just shows their clear bias for survivors over killer, literally when they were going to explain how this new ruin has more benefits they LITERALLY only gave benefits for survivors when ruin is a killer perk, how do you not see a clear problem with that? Yeah let's just serverely nerf one of the best killer perks for killer while explaining the new benefits of ruin but only using survivors as an example, just imagine if the devs did the opposite with killer lmao and you know what i'm actually glad the devs did what they did cause now things like noed, blood warden, haunted grounds and devour are about to become meta and if you thought the tunneling, camping and bad que times were bad already just wait until this patch officially releases, you're literally killing your own game day by day with these clear decisions based on survivors fun but not killers, I honestly can't believe the devs really destroyed ruin first without even touching even more broken things like keys, DS, hatch, and hit detection, the devs have lost all credibility.
Imagine thinking that the hatch is broken lmao. I stopped reading after hatch.
What a bait post.

What do you mean it's not that great? It's DIRECTLY from the movie. It literally can't get any better than having the ACTUAL movie music.
ALSO, it will never happen cause the Saw franchise and the rights to the song itself are different licenses...but this would be great for Pig...

Ds is meant to help survivors against tunneling toxic killers and it does its job, not to mention it can easily be countered.
as for BT i think that it could use a cooldown or something bc it can be annoying as killer when survivors go for an immediate save
Oh I know about DS's strength. I always run it in red ranks due to the constant tunnelling there.
BT imo is fine. You can literally just go after the unhooker, it's meant to give the weaker survivor a chance

I wonder what would happen if they nerfed DS or BT or even DH
Would you say the same things?
Maybe because the devs are stupid doesn't mean they'll be that stupid to nerf the only defensive perks survivors have.
BT and exhaustion perks are fine.
I'm not sure about my stance on DS atm, my feelings about it are quite neutral. I don't think it's great but I don't think it's bad either

I despise Spirit and I'm quite surprised to see the lack of anyone hating her the most when I see it almost everywhere else on the forums.
There's just something about how her gameplay works that I hate. I'd rather use my own skill rather than my own luck to face a killer. Luck is luck, skill actually shows how experienced I am and Spirit removes that. I have to be lucky to out guess her.
Not to mention that she gives you little to no information on where she actually is.
I also hate Pigs but mostly the players rather than the killer itself. Some Pigs always tunnel the trapped survivor even though that's not how they're meant to work :P. There's also the ones that ensure your death by doing this and running Tampered Timer and Crate of Gears

@Peanits said:
Blocking at the hook works by standing where the hook prompt is. If that space is occupied, the killer can't get to the hook and so they don't get the option to hook the survivor. When they hit a survivor, they lose their collision and the killer can walk through them (and vice versa).
What likely happened is that the first survivor was standing directly under the hook. When the killer hit them, they were able to move through them and get inside of the hook prompt. The other survivor(s) were out of position and not obstructing the hook. Typically the mistake people will make is standing directly under the hook, which doesn't actually stop the killer from hooking them.
This clears it up for me. All of them were standing too close the hook and I guess weren't standing where you can to block the prompt.
Still doesn't stop me from being quite salty about being tunnelled even through DS and that happening when my wiggle was 90% :/

Then I can only assume they were mis-positioned since everyone was stacking on each other. Not the first time people make a mistake in dead by daylight.
Otherwise I hope you got a video of this hacker.
They were all staying where they were hit the first time.

that doesn't make any sense i'm pretty sure it was something different, what @S_Panda said
How is this hard to understand? It's pretty simple.
I am wiggling at the hook, Adam takes a hit (he now has no collision like what @S_Panda said), Laurie then takes a hit (no collision too) then Ash takes a hit. Somehow, the killer phased through Adam and Laurie when they should've had their model collision back...
-
@S_Panda said:
When survivors are hit they lose their collision for a few seconds so they can avoid being downed from cornering themselves between a wall and the killer. The killer used this to hook you.
No. They took hits one by one. It was more than a few seconds for the 2 that were injured after the 3rd just got hit. All of them were there together blocking the hook and the killer phased through them all...
-
@NuclearBurrito said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/967335#Comment_967335
That makes absolutely no sense. If low rank Survivors and high ranked Survivors in a SWF are matched with red rank Killers that means those red rank Killers have more Survivors to que against and thus have a LOWER que time, not a higher que time.
Meanwhile low rank and mid rank Killers would have less Survivors to que against since those Survivors are being placed in red rank ques
Thus the end result is the exact opposite of what you said. Longer que times for high rank Survivors and Low rank Killers with Shorter que times for high rank Killers and low rank Survivors.
I said high rank killers, not low rank killers, I may have worded it wrong but I'm saying this:
Red rank survivors have longer queue times and grey rank killers have longer queue times...

Then run anti slug perks. Or crawl away and hope that one of your teammates is brave enough to pick you up.
Aside from that, there's not much else you can do. There are many ways in which your teammates can screw you over. And that one specific scenario you mentioned doesn't warrant a timer pause.
What if the survivor doesn't have anti slug perks? What if the killer follows the survivor when they crawl away? What if your team dies and you don't have Unbreakable or Flip Flop?
The survivor deserves another chance. That's just my opinion

I would be fine with that. In return, if they are grabbed during a hook save, out of a locker, or in out of a trap that they stepped in their own damn self, they don't get to DS.
I'd be down. I only use lockers to be an ######### to the killer if they're being an ######### to begin with.
Never bite off more than you can chew
-
@Mister_Holdout said:

Why would the timer need to be paused?
Either you use the 60 second timer to heal yourself or you can choose to work on the team objective, in which case DS will deactivate.
The whole purpose of DS is to prevent the killer from immediately coming back to the hook and downing the survivor who just got rescued.
The timer should be paused cause of scenarios like this.
An injured survivor farms you, they go down, you're stuck in an area with no pallets or windows, you go down too. The survivor who farmed you gets hooked and the other 2 are doing gens on the other side of the map. The killer can now just watch you for 60 seconds and place you on another hook.
This is how DS can be screwed over due to a teammate sometimes, the perk should always be in control of the survivor who has the perk and the killer to try and counteract it. The survivor's teammates should have no control over their perk
-
People don't seem to realise that it's the players that are toxic, not the actual survivor or killer side.
The toxicity comes from those that find joy in pissing others off. It comes from every PvP game, not just dbd.

I'm not one of those people who becomes vicious during an argument. I know how to stay on topic and not let emotions get in the way.
Just to reiterate though: DS is 100% not fine. Working on a gen or rescuing someone on a hook is not getting tunneled. That's why I say the perk needs deactivation conditions.
I'd be down for deactivation conditions as long as DS's timer pauses when the survivor is on the ground to compensate.
-
@Mister_Holdout said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/967338#Comment_967338
No, the devs do need to nerf it.
Survivors with DS are abusing the power.
It will still do its job mind you. Some survivors use DS to cover themselves while they heal. In cases like that, DS will still be quite good. They just won't be able to make reckless plays.
I'm not gonna try and start an argument here as I see how vicious they can get when it comes to this topic.
I'll just say we have our own opinions and leave it there.
I personally don't run DS unless I face a consecutive amount of games when I'm being tunnelled, then I put it on for the chance I might get tunnelled.
You think it should be changed and I think it's fine.
Hope to discuss other pressing issues in the game with you in the future :)

You yourself would have to touch the gen. If you don't touch the gen then DS doesn't deactivate.
Ah ok.
I personally find DS fine the way it is. The pressure can be high during some games especially solo queue, survivors need something to give themselves some breathing room.
Of course DS is stronger in the hands of an optimal survivor but nerfing it cause of the optimal survivors will just hurt less optimal survivors more.
