I pretty much 3-4k every time I decide to maliciously camp. I don't ever pip, but it always brings the salt. There is basically no counter to a camping 1 shot killer, or hag, who knows what they are doing.
And that is entirely the fault of the survivors you faced. There is ALWAYS a counter to camping. Again, it's called doing gens and leaving.

I don't care about pips, because the system is busted overall. 4k depips make me lmao every time.
And there's using builds that are annoying, and using builds that are effective. Head-on is pretty much trash compared to every other exhaustion perk. I think it's only real legitimate use is to get you out of a basement locker check.
If I can bully a killer with that build, I could loop them for days without it, and be running 4 second chance perks, or the vault build, or a complete gen rush build instead. The perks are borderline irrelevant.
But if I killer decides to camp because they are getting trashed? You literally need BT and DS to have any answer.
No, he's really right. The counter to camping is and always has been doing gens and leaving. Cucking their fun.

Like an energizer battery, this guy. Dude, you need to pipe down and realize when you backed yourself into a corner. You admit to having inadequate experience in that which you are arguing. That's really where your high ground ends. With a big steep cliff edge.
I wouldn't put it exactly like that, but yeah. Pretty much. Just go on about your day, he threw the debate. Also, be less aggressive. It didn't make you look any better.

The whole point of "burden of proof" is that someone is not obligated to provide evidence proving that a claim made by someone else is false (unless the first someone is actively claiming that it is false, then the burden is indeed on them to demonstrate that). The whole point is that someone making a claim needs to demonstrate that the claim they are making is true for such a claim to be reasonably accepted. Not doing so does not make their claim wrong, merely unsubstantiated.
Personal experience falls under another logical fallacy known as "anecdotal evidence." That by itself does not necessarily make a claim true because it is entirely possible that someone else may have personal experiences that contradict said anecdotal evidence.
Again - without the experience, which you freely admit, you are in no position to be in opposition of anything. So, just chill man. Take a knee.

@TAG said:

That would be valid - if - the data wasn't readily available to you. Which it is.
That's...not how it works. The purpose of the concept of burden of proof is that it lies on the person making the claim to demonstrate their point and not on other people to disprove it.
And you did take a stance on it. You said, in your own words "I think they are too common"
Pardon me? I just CTRL+F'd this exact phrase, and nowhere does it show up on any of the posts I have made on this thread.
You may be right, there. I may have misread. In any case - admitting to not having experience, you don't get to demand proof from anyone on something you have no ground to speak on. So just chill, man.
-
@TAG said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/994364#Comment_994364
You're more or less choosing to ignore the data that can be easily obtained yourself
What you are describing right here is straight-up a logical fallacy known as "shifting the burden of proof," where the person making a claim is trying to move the burden of providing evidence to the person asking for said claim to be supported rather than the person making the claim in the first place.
I am not taking a stance on whether or not Moris are too common or not (particularly at higher ranks), as I do not even have enough personal experience as a Survivor to make such a stance.
That would be valid - if - the data wasn't readily available to you. Which it is.
And you did take a stance on it. You said, in your own words "I think they are too common"; now you're saying you don't have a stance, and even emphasized that at high ranks, you don't know. This leads me to believe that through his..."words", he may have been right in that you don't actually know what you're talking about when it comes to red rank game play in survivor. So maybe this is a debate you shouldn't have gotten into if you don't have the experience to back it up. How can you think they are too common, and then admit to not having experience? You threw the debate right there, man.
You can only use the "burden of proof" shtick when you actually have conflicting experience to disagree with it. Since you admittedly don't have that experience, you have no right to be calling him out on it. No matter how flawed his argumentative and obviously biased standpoint was.
Have a good one, dude

You edited this into a reply several posts in after claiming that you were basing this on "reality" and "common knowledge." I don't believe it was unreasonable to ask you to provide support to your claim before you edited in that it was based on your experience.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/994353#Comment_994353
I was asking them to substantiate a claim that they argued was common knowledge. Hardly unreasonable IMO.
It absolutely is unreasonable. You're more or less choosing to ignore the data that can be easily obtained yourself in order to stand on your pseudo soap box. I can fully back you up that he's handling himself the wrong way, but you're on no intellectual high ground here. You're literally just as bad. The argument your making goes against what red rank survivors see.
He's right in that if a mori offering or two every 10-20 games is "too much", then it sounds like a personal problem.

He is saying "uh huh." I am saying "show me." I don't think it is bad to be unconvinced at someone who is actively and arguably deliberately not demonstrating their point.
No, you've pretty much been doing the same thing he has. You're both as bad as one another. You're asking him (or her?) to prove something they never said they had proof of. I would suggest watching someone like ANGRYPUG. Even if you don't like them for whatever reason, he plays almost exclusively survivor and probably has 10000 hours between his two accounts. I watch him every day, and I never see a mori more than once a night - and even then, he either avoids it completely or it's an ivory mori. You'll see the same thing watching any red rank survivor streamer. The data is there, it just seems like you're attempting to take the soap box stance by unreasonably attempting to force them to prove something you can both see yourself, and probably know is true already (unless he's right and you really are a yellow rank survivor).
@The_Second_Coming said:

I literally said it was based off my experience. You're straight up being unreasonable by asking me to provide statistical data. Red rank killers HOARD mori offerings. They barely use them.
I mean, you could handle it better. Either way - you're not exactly wrong.
-
@TAG said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/994316#Comment_994316
Except - I specified that the claim is based off my own experience, and other rank 1 survivors that I watch in streams.
When I asked you what the claim was based on, you responded that it was based on reality. When I said that is not something you have proven, you told me to prove otherwise. When I brought up burden of proof, you said that you did not have to prove it because that was the "average experience of a red rank survivor." You eventually edited in far later on that this was based on what you have experienced, but as you can see by the stuff I am quoting, that was not something I had seen when making a response. And even from there, you did not say "I myself have found moris to not be too common in my experience." You once again reiterated: "Mori's are simply not common among red rank killers."
If my experiences viewing other red ranks led me to believe that moris are too common, your view does not trump mine. It simply means that our own observations have led us to different beliefs, and neither of our claims is necessarily more or less valid than the other. It would fall on some other more definitively demonstrable factor to show how things actually play out.
Mind you, I have never once claimed that you were wrong. I merely stated that your belief is not a fact that has necessarily been demonstrated to be true. If indeed you are basing this purely on your own personal, subjective experiences, then my response will simply be to acknowledge it as such. Not wrong, not invalid, but not a definitive fact either.
you're not really doing any better than him, to be fair. All you're doing is saying "nuh uh" to his "uh huh". You're pretty much just as bad. You should both have a time out.
For what it's worth, I don't see that many mori's at red ranks either. So he does have a point. Even though he's terrible at making said point. They are mostly common with killers who rely on them more, which are, like he said, yellow, brown and to an extent, green rank killers. If they are too common for you, I think that speaks a lot to your rank. He's not exactly wrong when he says red rank killers "hoard" mori offerings. They simply don't feel the need to use them aside from special circumstances. For me that's usually if I know one of the survivors:P
In any case, I play mostly survivor, and I am consistently at rank 1-2 every season. Mori's are extremely uncommon.

Lmao again I didn't say he was I just said unbalanced.
He's not, though. Balance in video games refers to the scale of winnable vs beatable in an asymmetrical game. A godlike Billy player (let's say..Marth, who actually is god tier with most killers) can dominate a 4 man SWF one round with Billy, and then get his ass handed to him the next round by solos. It's happened. He's balanced. He can be strong, but he can also be beaten like a mule.
You are incorrect.

Imagine thinking Billy is overpowered. OOF.

I love how you attempt to act like I'm a bad survivor when I dont play that much survivor anymore and I still think Billy is inherently broken even as a Killer, but ya I'm a bad survivor for thinking Billy is a unbalanced and unfun Killer.
DS is good because one person gives the whole team an extra health state from killers who would rather avoid the DS stun so leave them slugged. Yet don't realize sometimes taking the stun can be beneficial as well. It just depends on the state of the game and the portion of the game your in.
No killer main thinks Billy is overpowered. That's how I know you're lying.

Lmao funny you think I have a issues with Billy because I think he's broken. He's just inherently broken and stupid. More people are carried by Billy then any other killer because his chainsaw has no real cool down. On ya 2 seconds big whoop because you know totally not some addons for it. Nothing like having a bad Billy literally trying to chainsaw you miss and attempt again and again till they realize it's time to go. Or worse terrible Billy using instasaw and reving behind you because he can't even play Billy and back revs are all he can do. I see more people trying to back rev and people who keep missing and trying then people who know how to curve.
You know though git gud maybe something might happen. Same to you man same to you. If anything in this game was deleted I hope it's Billy because of how obnoxiously annoying he is.
DS has it's own issues, but after the ruin rework we can pretty much tell it wont ever be changed to a balanced state.
Though if DS is affecting you maybe you shouldn't tunnel and take obvious bait. Have you considered getting good?
Everything you said about billy can be summed up with "I'm not as good at the game as I think I am".
As well, DS comes into play without tunneling all the time. Survivors use it as a superman perk to take protection hits because they know it makes them invincible.

I would personally love a system like what COD has. A theater mode of sorts, where it records (in demo form, which is a core functionality of the unreal engine) a whole match, and you can go in later and manipulate camera angles etc. Or just watch it back from one persons POV.

I say what I believe to be true, and that hasn't changed since the tag came along. If you paid more attention to my posts, you would realise that I don't go to bat for everything BHVR says. Using evidence which is circumstantial at best, and really is just an inference on your part, doesn't really do anything to discredit what I'm saying, and neither does merely asserting that what I'm saying isn't credible.
You have a different interpretation of events, and that's okay, but please don't insult my integrity by implying that I'm some kind of mindless parrot.
You'll have to excuse me, but I'm new to these forums (from a posting standpoint), but I've lurked for a while. I notice a pattern of people with the "Trusted" tags making a lot of excuses for BHVR and giving them endless "benefits of the doubt". Never anything critical comes from you guys, when there's never been a company that deserves criticism more. That's my experience here.

So yeah.. when billionaires in Dubai are capable of holding a door for you and being pleasant and folks in middle classers in Montreal are ruder than folks in new york city, I can label an entire set of people
Judging by that comment - and with your attitude towards people, I understand why people here weren't nice to you. That being said, I live in Montreal. I moved here from Alberta. I think you're outclassed and out educated in this discussion.

this game has been under 20k players for a bit now, and it does have highs and lows on steam, but so did death garden.. and then they finally killed it (twice).. history is repeating itself almost exactly with DBD as it did with their other horror genre game
I don't see why you throw the term "french canadians" in there as a negative. It's the people themselves, not where they are from, that gives them egos.

That's the comment you're looking for. But the fact that it was neither in the official patch notes nor in the PTB, nor in any way suggested or hinted at by the devs at any point, is already proof enough. The only place such a thing was even mentioned was in unofficial "leaked" patch notes, and there were also some popular streamers that tweeted about it based on those leaks, which didn't help matters at all. Basically, the rumour is false and this was never a thing.
"It was never a thing". Bud, even with that "Trusted" tag, do you really need to go to bat for everything they say? Knowing BHVR's track record, it was more likely a thing, and they cut out last minute because of the big time backlash it got due to the leaked patch notes. It doesn't make you look very credible to say "it was never a thing" when the leaked notes were identical to the official ones, with that one line being omitted.
It wouldn't have been the first time they bandaid fixed something.

Far from balanced nothing fun about a Billy who can just rev his chainsaw right back up after failing his chainsaw attack.
Nothing fun about a survivor who can just hit a skillcheck and stun you for 5 seconds after running in your face cause they know they're invincible.
If he fails his chainsaw, there's like 2 seconds where he can't do anything. Even after he hits a successful one, he already has a cooldown.
Get good.

How is it fair if you played better than survivors to that extent where they got 1 (or none) gens done, and they still have the opportunity at a free escape?
-
I mean, it's normal. I used to be like that. Just learn to enjoy the chase. When you're relaxed, your games will get better. You're more inclined to make mistakes if you get stressed over it and take it too seriously.
Remember - at the end of the day, what happens in a video game doesn't matter.

So I am by no means a great killer. I am a Rank 4 survivor and a rank 9 KIller. Unfortunately I find this game to be rather unplayable as of late because of the matchmaking. As a surv I end up playing against lower ranked Killers even as low as 16 and honestly it presents no challenge and means I do not pip up since the game doesn't last long enough to be fulfilling. As a killer gens are popping so quickly and the game is over so quickly that I learn nothing and therefore cannot grow as a player. My last game I played my lvl 7 doctor and went up against a rank 2,2,3, and 10. Now granted there was one person around my rank, but the other three cleaned shop.
The point of this rant is 1) to vent and 2) to see how everyone else feels about matchmaking and general experiences with the game in the last month or so.
Thank you for your time, and I look forward to seeing the replies (if any) :)
The matchmaking is a horses backside. We're all aware. We're just hoping BHVR actually fix it instead of just hiding ranks to bandaid fix it.

Haddonfield, obviously, is number one that NEEDS it.
After that, in this order - Coldwind (the entire realm, not a specific Coldwind map), Red Forest (again, entire realm), and Autohaven (not every map in the realm, but a couple).
I wouldn't mind if The Game got a face lift as well.
-
Keep it as is. It's strong, but only in the right hands (most people who use Iri head are terrible at Huntress and are easily dodged). Plus, it already has a huge tell. She refills after 3 hatchets.

Everyone saying Billy is overpowered, needs a nerf, and has no downside...
My god, this is why solo survivor is hell. If you HONESTLY believe that, you have no clue how to either play AS him, or play AGAINST him.
"Billy overpowered". THAT is a knee slapper. I say that as someone with like, 2 hours of Billy (I play Wraith and Doc exclusively pretty much). I am not good with him at all. But my god, if you think he's overpowered, you really need to get better. The problem isn't Billy. The problem is your lack of skill.

What's a suvivor?

Yep. Hillbilly, possibly the most balanced killer in the game, will get a cooldown on his chainsaw.

They didn't say it's inaccurate. You lost this debate.
To be fair, the developers did say that the data was to be taken with a grain of salt, which basically says they are inconclusive and not 100% accurate.
