  • I predict this game is gonna fall off the radar by this time next year, despite having F13/Jason license.

  • Nothing to do with counterplay. Spirit is literally brain dead game play. There is no skill involved. If the spirit or survivors try thinking, there is only imminent demise.

  • Idk you might be one of like a dozen. There's gonna people that say they enjoy, but do they still enjoy the game even when they lose?

Not when they all bring BT and DS getting camp and tunnel is very easy to deal with. And if anything we’ll just finish 3 gens for 1 death gg

Play around each of those things, it's really not that hard

If you know they have BT, don't tunnel

If you suspect DS, leave the jerk on the ground and look around for their friends

  • @OrionQc24 said:

There is truly no other way to nerf it. Like it’s completely impossible to kill a SWF party unless you run specific killers with specific add ons on specific maps.

This is inaccurate. Proxy camping and priority tunneling will easily put SWF into the dirt

Iri Coin is an incredible good addon when you get used to his Speargun. Getting used to the Sharpshooter range is totally doable and you can position yourself for it. Everytime I bring a Coin I always manage to get at least two downs from it, which imo is enough to make the addon slot worth it.

The missed shot cooldowns are good alternatives when you don't want to spend your reload ones. Even the best Slingers miss more than a few shots per match. It's not an excelent addon, but compared to some of the other garbage that he has I don't think it should be deleted.

Honestly none of the add-ons should be garbage in the first place. You're right tho, since I haven't seen the coin work in action. I still think it's highly conditional in theory, and should work with better tolerances at the very least.

  • If a survivor is absorbing hits and thereby preventing someone else's hooks, what's the issue?

Two injured survivors is not gen efficient, sure, but Im assuming the other two are doing gens.

This would make self care highly efficient for 4-player escapes, irrespective of how long the trial lasts.

In-game voice chat would also kill it for me, even if I didn’t have to participate. Like I said before, if I wanted to hear 12-year-olds yell slurs at me, I could play pretty much any other online PVP game.

    This.

Also, this falls into some of the issues tied to the highly selective and imbalanced censorship policies in place.

  • Corporate gains and politics are clearly marking this game for it's demise.

Mark my words: by this time next year is when the company will see substantial losses, due to lack of sales and deteriorating player base.

Besides the obvious answer (technical reasons), what would make u stop playing the game completely until it is changed?

Im a mid 2020 player so the most annoying things so far are the constant tech issues, but in terms of perks/killers i haven't experienced anything too broken (like old legion). Right now the only thing that bothers me is RPD and i would 9/10 dc if i get that map as half the killer roster

    In-game chat

Why would you change Iridescent Coin? It's his most fun addon, and it's not as bad as people think it is.

Why remove the missed shots CD addons also?

Everything else is nice, I like it.

Simply, because they're not effective for their respective rarities.

Coin is highly difficult condition to pull off and it doesn't have an indication or aura to guide the condition as possible. As survivor, I've never been downed by the coin when a DS takes it. Too conditional imo.

Missed shots cool down is on the same tier as the perk Relentless. These things aren't worth taking in mid and high rank play Great for beginners tho. These things are quickly replaced by other add-ons and perks that provide haste without the condition of error.

Most people that complain about the health of the game seem to still be playing the game. Statistics speak louder than words. I would imagine, in the developer's minds, there's no need to fix what's not broken. Why dedicate a chapter to health when new killers/survivors generate more profits, keep most old players, and bring in more new players?

Not going to work for year 6.

  • Watch Otz play and use his builds. Bubba does great at windows if you know your limits.

  • Hellshire Iron: Removes chain. Inflict deep wounds and hindered immediately. (Spear with no chain travels indefinitely)

Iridescent Coin: Reveals aura of hooked survivor for 12 seconds

Barbed Wire: Survivors that break free from the chain leave more pools of blood. If the chain breaks due to another survivor block, that survivor also receives deep wounds

Prison Chain: Lengthens maximum spear and chain reach by 4 meters

Tin Oil Can & Spit Polish Rag: Removed.

Rickety Chain: Same, but makes unique rickety noises.

  • Honestly the community is owed 2x RCPD instead just saying

  • I see this happen often enough in solo queue that it's best not to have any expectations or social contract. If you really need a reasonable expectation in multiplayer gaming, kindly remember that there are far fewer winners than there will be losers.

Trust is fickle for a game that doesn't feature in game chat.

  • No achievement or challenge is impossible, but you're right about the piss bottles. The clown needs to be properly reworked and competently play tested.

If that's what you're doing then add into your post something like "haha guys this is last patch" or something so we know this didn't happen in the current patch, which is what most people will assume if you post this out of nowhere not even acknowledging this unless asked directly in further posts.

It was previously noted as month ish ago. Not sure how detailed that kind of heads up should be, but sure I'll laugh about it and enjoy the overall improvement. Have a great day!

  • Camping is an essential aspect of design. Only survivors can empower camping, not the killer.

but why are you posting this on a thread ranting about how pallet hit validation works in the current patch after the "fix".

Comparison. Clearly what we have now since then is a massive improvement that needs fine tuning and slight adjustment.

  • Monstrous Shrine:

Survivors are blind and/or oblivious while within the basement.

Reduces chances of self-unhook by 10% for each survivor still alive in the trial

  • I like the game rework as both killer and survivor. It's pretty good on both sides.

Bhvrs time and resources would be better spent taking older maps and rezoning them altogether; some zones have too many maps and the trickster didn't ship with one.

They spend so much time reworking faces instead of maps, I can at least agree more time spent on more maps would be far more agreeable for everyone. I wouldn't think they're making much money on cosmetics anyways.

This kinda looks as if it you just got this video in this thread after recording it during tricksters release where the killer wouldn't ever get stunned while swinging and even getting hits through pallets like that.

That or you have extremely bad ping and this bug happened, which is pretty rare right now but is still there.

This was like a monthish ago before the most recent update

I'd like to see a percentage of people who genuinely like the map....

So far the only positives people have mentioned about the map is "RE nostalgia" and "it looks pretty"... but what the gameplay itself?

The map is both awful for killers and survivors, and looking "pretty" and "accurate" shouldn't be a priority over gameplay.

Until then I think the best decision when someone uses the offering is just to dc on the loading screen, and if you get it randomly to either DC or go afk.

I genuinely like the map. The field area isn't as big as the map itself. The tight corridors and compartmentalized loops are alot of fun.

It might be what it needs. Idk how Behavior operates, but I know some companies tend to let their artists have too much creative freedom. Artists shouldn't feel stifled in their work, but they also shouldn't be given free reign as if they're on their own time and be allowed to focus solely on what they want to make and not delivering what their audience or their customers want.

Again, not saying they operate that way since I don't know what goes on behind the scenes, but the way they get stuck working on the same batch of specific characters reminds me of companies that do.

It's possible the artists at BHVR enjoy salary with commission. If they were solely commission, that would make sense too given the excessive repeat survivors that have excessive cosmetics, but I'm pretty sure they receive both.

As a resource manager, it's my belief and philosophy that any worker should enjoy what they do. But it is work, and there will be stifled feelings and there will be fluctuations in labor and materials.

BHVR was a much smaller company a long time ago. They picked up contracts for small time games n things, and used canadian government funding to grow their capacity and portfolio. Dead by daylight was semi-incidental and they were very smart when they hired Cote to manage marketing and they were very proactive to manage their growing finances once the Halloween chapter was released.

Somewhere, someone drew some lines in the dirt. Mathieu Cote talks about these lines in a few videos, where certain things are simply not allowed. No killing children, for example, which is why stranger things featured Steve and Nancy instead of any kids. Charlotte and Viktor were suggested to be mother and child at one point, but that "went too far".

Problem nowadays is that they are now totally motivated by corporate gains and their political positions have become alot less ambiguous, which means they aren't sticking to those long held values as much anymore.

Imo, this year is possibly the big beginning of a long drawn out end. I suspect it'll show on the YoY report for 2022 as their sales begin to decline.

I'm sick and tired of playing killer anymore, all survivors do is loop one single window, 5 times over until the next one, like the second they get seen. How is that gameplay fun? I have to be forced to bring bamboozle on most killers because that's the basic survivor tactic, default is you're allowed to loop one spot like 4 times before it blocks it. Do the devs not know how long that is?

Most killers im saying aren't allowed to free form builds without the consequence of getting rolled every match

With gens, your forced to bring a gen slow down perk or block otherwise survivors would rather get ripped off gens then leave one on 90 or whatever. It's just a massive stress fest if you're not a travel killer.

I'll never shut up about mori's either, they should be base kit, im tired of the way it makes survivors play the second they see an offering not flip over. It always turns into an infuriating loop match even more so most of the time too. Survivors shouldn't always be in the mindset they can sip drinks until theres a mori, that's just another example of power survivors overall hold over killers.

Killer is just becoming more and more unfun and it's no wonder survivors ques take so long. Nobody wants the stress and that's a fact.

Play for fun or play another game.

I think that that is an extreme that rarely comes up, as opposed to what killers are now having to deal with.

Disagree completely. The kind of scene found in the video was a common occurrence amongst many of my local friends and online friends, too. The kind of issue killers are dealing with now is superficial; the mechanics are fair but the visuals don't match.

The visuals will likely be updated soon to match the current mechanics.

She didn't need to be changed as she wasn't even that old. I understand the og characters but all the newer ones being changed just seems like someone attempting to justify their job so they can point and say "look boss, i did something"

This is 100% correct. The team is bloated with artists that spit out cosmetic after cosmetic for the same three characters, trickster did not ship with a map, either QA is failing at catching bugs/play testing or the devs are holding them hostage, and we still don't have Jason.

Still a fun game, but I'm not spending money on this game anymore.

I don't get it, her hair looks disgusting compared to the old version. I was hoping i'll get used to the new Kate, but i just... can't. Eyes are narrowed, nostrils flared, eyebrows angled. All this changes her expression from slightly smiling, calm hopeful songbird, to various degrees of annoyed/angry.

Just.. #########. If some of you guys love Kate's new look, congrats. This new rework killed Kate for me.

Not a Kate player, grew from general dislike of Kates to liking Kates over time. Kate mains like to run really tough and offensive perks. The last facemeat rework (which was pretty recent before this one) seemed really subtle and I didn't notice, but Kates everywhere seemed pleased.

This update is very noticeable and also terrible. Shes no longer a Kate; now she's a Kaet.

That's not fair either (I play both sides pretty regularly so I'm well aware of how bad it could be on Survivor side too) but breaking it for The Killer Side isn't exactly the fix I was hoping for either...

Please understand that the killer side is not being broken. Previously, the killer has been allowed to score hits where it shouldn't have been possible. The new system is properly addressing the kind of hits we're discussing (what you saw today in game and what we see in that video above) and the animation will be fine tuned so that it won't appear as a false hit for killers sooner than later. Unless the survivor is running through the pallet zone unsafely, the killer shouldn't see a hit nor score a hit at the tip of range during pallet events. Right now, it's showing a hit on killer side because the game shows an animation on the killer side whether or not it shouldn't, which certainly creates the immediate perception that the system appears to be unfair.

The new pallet system is here to stay. It's alot less unfair than the old system. See above video on previous system and tell me if this looks fair at all @tippy2k2

So I played a game with Nemesis. Playing a game of Scooby Doo as they just run around in circles around rocks as Nemesis slowly finally gets close enough to give them a love tap with his fist.

Swing the fist as they get to the pallet, hear the "AHHHHHHH!" as I hit the survivor, the survivor drops the pallet, and....the survivor is untouched.

Like...I get that having the old setup where getting hit through a pallet sucked but I'm ready to snap the disc in half (figuratively of course since it's a downloaded game) as time after time after time after F'ing time I would hit the survivor, HEAR them scream like they were hit, they'd drop the pallet, and be perfectly fine.

I only played the one game because I'm already pissed off somethin fierce after that BS but I'd love to know if this was a bad one off for me (maybe lag or some garbage?) or if this is what I should expect as a killer and should therefore just hang up my blade now before I break something expensive? Any of my fellow killers play some games with the patch and can report?

Theyre updating the system soon so that it won't play the animation/sounds if the hit doesn't register. Some mod said it was being sent to devs.

Once they update it with the new validation it'll look smoother and feel cleaner both ways.

  • To keep up with your discussion, I'd say the facemeat all looks great. Feng looks kinda funny and Claudette's mouth is slightly agape, but she looks good.

Quentens looking like an anime boy without the beanie. Adam looks much more discerning and teacher-like.

Jake has changed dramatically, and it looks like Tapp is much cleaner looking. Meg still looks like a pill, which is exactly how she should look and we already knew she deserves to be killed in every cinematic possible.

I know that's what the syringe states, but 2 people have stated otherwise, unless they are mistaken in their recollection.

They're mistaken. Styptic is only eight seconds and needle is 16, therefore the needle can never interrupt the styptic.

To evidence the other direction, where a styptic interrupts the needle, it is clearly stated on the needle: This effect is canceled when the affected Survivor changes health state or is picked up.

Going from injured to deep wounds is a change in health state, therefore, you lose the needle.

That would be a glitch, if true. Cosmetics you unlock on the Rift or in-game for characters you don't yet have access to are supposed to be available once you obtain those characters.

Also, not sure why everyone is complaining about this now when they've been doing it since the very first Rift. Recolors of store cosmetics is one of the only good things the Free Track of the Rift still delivers imo.

Yea that was true for Kate stuff I think. I had her friendly backpack outfit before I unlocked her but I didn't get the elephant stuff

They already have a system in place whereby (for example) key add ons are impossible to use on a toolbox. Why can’t the moment one add on (or perk) be put in a slot, any conflicting add ons (or perks) are disabled in the same way (until/unless the said add on/perk is removed)?

It surely cant be that hard to implement?

    @TheClownIsKing said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2390566#Comment_2390566

But this extends to perks as well. Exhaustion add ons conflict with each other. Many perks conflict with No Mither. Yeah sometimes it can be a meme, sometimes we should expect players to be smarter. But newbies often make genuine mistakes like equipping both Sprint Burst & Lithe, completely oblivious that Lithe simply will never ever work in that build.

No, unlike exhaust perks, the styptic and needle do not directly conflict with one another. It's simply a matter of priority, because when both are used, only one effect will work and the other will be negated.

Styptic lasts for 8 sec, the Syringe will heal after 16sec, Self-Mending takes 12 sec, and Altruistic Mending takes 8 sec.

    _______________________________________________________________________________________________________

Based on the responses, it seems like:

    1) If you get hit within 8 sec., the Styptic works and the Syringe will heal the mend after a total of 16 sec. elapses.

(theoretically it seems like you can either self mend or have a teammate mend you if you get hit right after you use the medkit, and then Syringe will heal you back up but I don't think this happens in actual gameplay.

    2) If you get hit between 9-15 sec, you are downed. (outside the window of both Styptic and Syringe)

    2) If you don't get hit at all, the Syringe will take effect and you are back to Healthy state.

yes?? can't really test with KYF since I have no friends, lulz.

No, if you pop the styptic, the syringe would not heal because your health state changes from injured to deep wounds/mending.

Aside from the standard 3 minute timeout. Been seeing it for a long time now.

Be a good killer and know the maps. Hatches have some predictable spawn spots, which survivors are privy to as well. If you're trying to slug and you didn't put yourself in a position of logisitcal advantage, you already were likely going to lose the trial anyways.

Had the slug crawled around, maybe you might have had time and found the hatch and/or final survivor, but there was no guarantee that was gonna happen anyways.

Also just realized, he did not get stunned, so pallet validation does not trigger as it requires a stun as a prerequisite. As to why he did not get stunned, it could be a bug combined with latency or it could be some networking issue. It's possible lag compensation put you closer to the middle of the pallet on his screen and he swung for you got the hit without even needing to enter the stun zone in an act completely terrible ping. It's impossible to say for sure what caused this abnormality but it does seem to be a rarity so that's good.

Definitely bugged, nothing to do with latency. It wouldn't have put me in the middle since I didn't pass through the pallet. Community devs screwed up Validation after original release. Today's update is alot more like the original validation checks, so this kind of thing shouldn't happen again.

  • Wraith is classic and utilizes skill based stealthing, it's easy to see why people would play him. Spirit is literally brane-dead, which appeals to purple rank survivors and salty toxic types that can't git gud, which is also easy to see why people would play her.

Try positioning yourself on the gen so the killer sees you instead of your friend. While it might not be bait, most killers will attack you before checking the gen for hidden survivors. As long as your friend bolted from the safer side of the gen at the same time as your encounter, the killer will likely check/kick the gen and/or resume targeting you since you're injured and the healthy one is already out of reach.
