I keep getting killers who litrally throw the game cause they think they have noed then dc when the last gen pops and there noeds gone cause i cleansed all the totems ( no dc penality cause xbox) its honestly kind of sad that this happend to me 5 times today against purple ranked killers

I feel you. Currently I play on Xbox as well and most of the time it's like this: killers with moris who dc after tunneling, but not able to catch that survivor again or killers who dc when the last gen is done or when the exit gates are opened. Played the whole weekend and I've stopped counting the games where the killer dc. But to be fair, same thing happend when I've played killer, in almost every match the first survivor I've downed dc. That's what you get when there is no dc ban on Xbox.

  • Wishing you all the best!

  • I run small game all the time. I don't run across the map to find all totems instead of doing gens, but when I'm on my way to a gen and I get that audio notification you can be sure that I'm going to cleanse it. I know that it sucks when you run inner strength and there is no totem to find, but that's just bad luck. I also run WGLF, but I don't say "hey team mates, could you please stop unhooking, I run WGLF and don't get my stacks and please don't get chased on the other side of the map, because I might be late for my protection hits". Please know this is no offense, just saying that everyone runs a perk they can't use, because of different circumstances. A lot of things in dbd depend on something/someone. It's not that I don't understand where you're coming from though...

The moblie version will come out around December, that's the free version. If PC/Steam has it for free then it's a time trial. PS4 is usually on PS Plus free games, if it is on for that month. Xbox...i don't know how that works.

I have the mobile version for some weeks now, isn't it out for everyone yet?

What about them is hard? It's literally playing the game. I didn't prove a single point of yours.

Let me hammer it in. The "challenges" are just looking for you to play the game normally and you'll eventually just get it done.

How can I feel pride in doing something that I would have done anyway? Yay, I blinded the killer twice in one game. Ooooooo! So difficult! What? Unhook someone who unhooked me? That's basically every match if you're not a selfish tunnel-visioned gen jockey.

How is it basing the game off of what people who have thousands of hours in when they just ask you to do normal, every match things? Heal two health states? Only people thousands of hours could EVER do that!!!!

You're either a special kind of bad to think these are actually challenging and thinking it takes thousands of hours to be capable of doing any of these challenges, or you're just trying to stir crap up because you don't want to do them.

If they're (somehow) too difficult, don't do them. They're not a requirement. And adding more players isn't catering to "casuals".

Heck, if you think these "challenges" are challenging, I hate to break it to you; you're more than a casual. Even casuals are able to do these things.

the sad thing is, that not every challenge lets you play the game normally. For example normally I don't search chests, but for that chest challenge which was hard for me (cause most of the time all the other survivors searched them before I got the chance) I did nothing at the beginning but searching chests. Sorry for the person that died on hook early, but I had to search the last closed chest on the other site of the map where the other two survivors where working on a gen close to that chest. This is not how I NORMALLY play. So even though I totally agree with you, when it comes to challenges like "unhooking" or "healing" a lot of challenges force us to play in a toxic way. These "in one trial" challenges bother me the most though. And like I said before some challenges depend too much on luck and your team mates. Even that unhooking 15 survivors challenge took me 25 games, cause most of the time

    • the other survivors were closer than I was or playing swf and swarming the hook already -
    • the killers dc right at the beginning of the trial
    • nobody got hooked
    • I was the first on hook and died, cause nobody came to unhook, they were searching chests or healing themselves - maybe this could have something to do with the challenges? ;)

Starting 25 games to get one challenge done is ridiculous. Switching to that 3 gen challenge, oh look, I've spawned next to the killer, running him around for 4 gens, challenge not done, maybe next game then, or the game after that, finally just finished it because I've played selfish again. And that's when we are talking about luck, team mates and not normal game play again. When you play solo like I do, well...RIP, cause since the tome release you don't have 3 team mates, you have 3 rivals.

And I'm a casual player, I only play on fridays and saturdays due to personal life reasons (work from 7am - 6pm with a long access route, family etc.) So I won't get the rift finished before it ends without paying for it, which I won't. And I won't buy the next rift, cause I already know that I won't be able to finish that as well. I'm happy to see that there are people like you that don't have problems with these challenges, but I'm sure that the majority will have big problems to finish it by just playing the game and not paying for it :(

thanks for your help :) even though it sucks that you have to get the teachables to get the last tier :(

  • My problem on PS4 is I have all of Bills perks with Meg on tier 2, I didn't prestige Meg so I thought the tier3 perks will appear in my bloodweb, but they don't since the Bill release. I have all perks with Meg, so everytime I start a new bloodweb it's without perks. I can understand that you have to get the teachables if you prestiged your survivor, but if you have these perks on tier1 or 2 without being prestige they should still appear in the bloodweb to level up.

  • I've had some dc problems yesterday as well, three times. Usually I don't have connection issues, so I thought the killers dc, but they've had no reason, cause the game was almost done for us survivors. What's really weird is the fact that I didn't get any points, but I kept my items??? So when the killers dc on purpose I will get points and keep my items, when I dc even due to connection issues I won't get any points and lose my items, right? So now I'm wondering what happens, when the killer dc DUE TO INTERNET ISSUES? Will you as a survivor still get points or keep your items?

  • So we can't break loose anymore, because the orbs will always lead him to our hiding place as long as we are injured?

  • Far Cry 3-5 (I'm Far Cry addicted), Red Dead Redemption 1+2, the Forest, Payday 2, Stardew Valley ^^, L4D 1+2, Dead Island, Dead Rising 3+4, Outlast 1 + DLC

We should at least be able to have two or three active at once... as it is now it takes SO long to finish them especially as a casual player. Some people have work and can’t play the game enough to finish them fast.

    this ^

And beside that we could finally start to play like we used to instead of being an anti team-mate, cause we just want to get our challenge done, it's already hard for casual players. I don't want to get all the stuff for free, I want to do something for it, but this is.....Yesterday I let my team-mate die on hook, well I needed to get that 3 gen challenge done, the other 2 survivors were already dead and the killer was running pop, so I've played like I normally wouldn't: selfish. Since I don't have the time to play on a daily basis I only care about my challenges when I have the time to play dbd, which is pretty sad, cause normally I just play for fun, so I don't care if I escape or die, I don't care about ranks, I just want to have a good time, but I also want to get the challenges done, cause I really want the lore memories though.

Oh you need a heal? Sorry, have to finish this gen. Oh you want me to unhook you? Sorry, got to search all chests first... :/ And the tome is based on luck and other people most of the time, that makes it worse. And sometimes you need perks you don't even have, so you have to grind through your bloodweb to get them losing points you wanted to spend for someone else. "This is not happening" for example, I stop grinding through my bloodwebs, when I already got my main perks so "this is not happening" was on of the perks I didn't have. So I've spent a lot of BP to finally get this perk after 16 levels. Nice, BP I wanted to spend on the new survivor :/

  • For how long will the blood orbs be visible? Will u be still able to break loose while being chased as a survivor to hide somewhere or is this useless, because he just needs to follow the orbs to find you again? I don't play the ptb, just watched some videos and I'm not sure about this so I'm curious.

  • I wait 2 minutes as a survivor, Central Europe, best time for me is between 4 and 10pm.

  • I totally understand what you mean, but the funny thing is, my problem is exactly the opposite, whenever I play solo, and that's 90% of the time, I get matched with a lot of red/purple rank survivors (I'm in green ranks usually), that ruin the game for me. Red rank Claudette dropping the pallet right next to the gen I'm working on, even though she is not in a chase, purple rank 3 swf blocking the exit gates while the killer is on me, so I can't run out and die on hook. Tbh I'd rather play with hiding and crouching yellow/grey rank survivors and die on first hook to go into another match right after than play with red/purple rank survivors that do nothing but being toxic, but that's DbD. Of course NOT ALL red/purple rank survivors are like this, but the same goes for yellow/grey ranks. But I have to say that I only play for fun, I don't care about my rank and yes that's a true fact, I never did. I just want to have a good time and if those toxic people ruin my fun, okay, sure that's really annoying, but just let me die on hook and next game please :)

Anyway, I hope you will have fun matches soon again :)

  • This happened to me as well, not very often though. But it's annoying :/

Hmmm very true. Most of the people on this forum "always wanna play but never wanna lose." as System of a Down put it...

When I lose I usually feel very little in terms of negativity. I'm just like "Nice. Well played." I don't get mad if I get facecamped either, I just tell my friend "Time to gen rush."

I play for BP and for fun, not to escape every game or get a 4K every game, so I don't understand why there's so much complaining...

exactly this. I'm just the same, but maybe because I have a lot of real life issues to be concerned about, so I know what matters in life and it's definitely not dying on hook in a video game, because I've got camped or being mad because someone teabags in front of me. I know it sucks, but not every match is like that, for me at least. I'm older than the average DbD player, I know life itself can be much worse than any video game in this world, so camp me to death, I will start another game right after that and still have fun

  • I feel old now :(

  • Thank you guys. I'll give em a try then <3

  • I just want a waving emote for saying "hi" so we don't need to "teabag" anymore when we meet other survivors and an emote to bow one's thanks would be cool, that's all :)

also give killers the same emotes ^^

  • I've had a lot of fun games tbh, but the last fun game was when the Demogorgon followed me all the time, not following like chasing, he just followed me like a dog, it wasn't a productive game, but it's fun to mess around sometimes :) I love to have games like this every once in a while, it shows me that not everyone is a tryhard and that a lot of other people just want to have fun, life itself is serious enough though

  • For me it's bond, cause I play solo most of the time and I'm a noob so I need a good heal every now and then :p

I don't play killer by now though

No, @Aven_Fallen had it right. The first Tome, and all four of its levels, will always be available for completion. There will never be a time when you're not able to go back and work on the challenges that are being released right now. The only difference is that they will only reward Rift Fragments for as long as the current Rift remains open.

do u know if we'll be able to get the charm rewards for finishing each tome level or will they be gone with the rift as well?

  • thank you all so much for the quick replies :D

Well I have all killers, but non of them leveled up. But I've bought some perks on the shrine like bbq, enduring and pop, cause I'm sure I won't level up bubba, hillbilly or the clown to get the teachables.

  • I really hate the fact that these challenges are based on luck and on other people most of the time. And these "in one single trial" challenges, I'm a team player, I really am, but some of these challenges force me to play in a way I normally wouldn't play. For example people will try to heal themself first to get that self care challenge done while a team mate ist dying on hook. Something SOME of us would never do without this challenge.

  • @thesuicidefox said:

IMHO a lot of challenges are unhealthy for the game. Some require you to basically throw a match. I lost a Huntress game because I was trying to do the Agitation challenge and I got Rotten Fields. TWICE I dropped the guy just before the basement hook. I literally didn't even care about winning I just wanted my challenge. I got it the next game more because of luck (basement was at Suffocation Pit and I caught one right away near it) but I don't like these types of challenges. Forcing someone to use a perk or character, or to do something that is almost counter productive to normal game play is bad design. I get there are only so many challenges you can create, but these don't belong in the game.

PS. I feel the same about some dailies, but at least for them you can trash it for a new one.

    this ^

I also think a lot of the challenges are unhealthy, cause some of us are forced to play in a way we normally wouldn't play. I'm a casual player, I can only play at the weekend, so I have to rush through my challenges more than someone who plays several hours everyday. The totem challenge for example, instead of doing gens I've only searched for totems. Of course I've went to unhook people, but I didn't touched one single gen until that challenge was done. Casual players suffer a lot and since I'm the worst killer ever I can't get the killer challenges done, so I won't buy the next rift, even though I would like to.

    Edit: typo

  • Dying with a medkit worked for me as well. And that self care challenge, I don't have self care for my main survivors so I've played as Claudette with self care tier 1. When I came to the point to heal myself I used the medkit I've found instead of self care (lol), cause I'm just not used to self care xD So I was like "damn, okay maybe next trial". But the funny thing is I've completed the challenge just by healing myself with a medkit while running selfcare. I'm sure that this is not how it should work, but I'm happy lol. Another weird thing is that I've only healed myself once during that trial instead of twice. So it seems a lil buggy, cause I've also had big broblems with that pallet challenge. A lot of pallet drops didn't count, even though I've definitely been in a chase. And when the killer dc the pallet drops didn't count for me as well.

  • @Dr_Loomis said:

Ruddy hell I feel like a right old fart.

    same here ^^

  • I would love this. I have a lot of items, add-ons and offering I never use. It would also help a lot, if you want to prestige a character, instead of just losing all this stuff you could sell them and have some nice BP to level up again.

  • I have to wait 30 min. as a survivor, Central Europe just to face killers that dc at the beginning of the match

  • Same here, I'm in Central Europe and I have to wait 30 min as a survivor :(

  • What I dont like is that u have to play both roles to get all the fragments from the challenges. A lot of us don't like to play survivor or killer. For example I suck so bad at playing killer. So I won't complete most of the killer challenges. Of course u can try to farm, but find people who are willing to. Everytime I've tried to farm for a killer daily survivors didn't want to. Sure, cause it's boring af so I couldn't blame them. So imagine me completing killer master challenges...first I would have to grind through a killer's bloodweb to get noed for example. And we all know that waiting for a specific perk to appear in the bloodweb can be a pain in the a...So it might happen that I have to spend BP on a role I don't like to play, just to get noed to complete that challenge, which, in my case, will never happen, cause I'm the worst killer ever. And the amount of fragments you'll get by just playing the game is ridiculous. And like @InfinyMage already said: DC is real and will be worse, cause people will be more salty, because the paid for it. First I didn't like the idea of a battlepass. Then since the ptb I was sooooo excited for it, but after all the math I'm like :(

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/748457#Comment_748457

So the Tome is where you do the challenges, and earn Bloodpoints, Rift Fragments and pieces of lore as rewards. There is a mix of killer and survivor challenges, and you have to complete all of both to fully complete the Tome.

The Rift is a rewards progression, which contains 70 tiers. Each tier has rewards, mostly in the form of cosmetic items. The Rift Fragments earned by completing challenges in the Tome are used to unlock new tiers in the Rift. There are two tracks in the Rift, free and premium. The premium track costs 1000 auric cells to access, and players on the premium track get access to more rewards than the free players.

Rifts last for only 70 days, after which you won't be able to progress in that Rift or earn rewards from it anymore. New Rifts are released every few months. Tomes, on the other hand, never close, so you will have as long as you like to complete the challenges in each one.

I hope that answers your question. More info can be found on the website here: https://deadbydaylight.com/en/news/welcome-to-the-archives

are there any disadvantages, if you don't complete the challenges for both roles in the tome (beside BP, fragments and lore pieces)? Can you still do everything in the rift then or only half of it, because you don't have enough rift fragments since you didn't complete all the challenges? Cause I reaaaally suck as a killer, so I'm sure I won't complete all of the killer challenges or that I'd have to play a lot of matches to complete them, which is impossible, cause I can't play every day because of my job, more at the weekend though, but even then I don't have the time to grind the whole day. I'm really, really excited for the archives and I hope that casual players that don't like to play both roles also get the chance to comple everything the rift offers :/
