Longer time till death on hook and if it wasn't done as I laid out, then of course it would be abused. I forgot to add while not in chase, however, but this isn't something that can just be abused, unless the abuse is in the form of constantly waiting "just out of range" and playing the waiting game with the killer: Hence terror radius, distance and not being in chase are the prerequisites. If you loser your terror radius, the effect doesn't kick in. If you're out of the distance it doesn't kick in. If you start a chase while close, it doesn't kick in.

Incorrect, it's absolutely needed. A less toxic community/play pattern means more overall enjoyable games and that leads to a healthier, more robust community. That's something devs in all games need to promote.
If the excuse to not address it is going to be "Only some killer's can reliably camp/Bring this special perk," then it really just amounts to saying nothing in response. Not every player has X/Y/Z perk and just because some killers can execute a toxic method of playing a game doesn't mean that method should go unaddressed. The game is asymmetrical, with survivors being on the none-low end of information, the expectation for survivors to predict and combat something through their perks to stop one particular (toxic/antithetical) kind of play isn't a legitimate expectation. Killers being on the move and making active plays however is a reasonable expectation, unless they already setup a build to ambush hooked survivors.

Yup, it was tried exactly as you laid out and abused by the survivors because they did, in fact, wait just out of range.
-
What's "reduced death progression"? If it's what I think, this was already tried and abused by survivors in the very first PTB.

This might be a urband legend of the urban legend.
I regularly unhook myself when I use slippery meat where I get 5 chances of Kobe. Even if I'm the first one to be hooked, I just start unhooking myself and about 1 out of 3 games, I successfully unhook myself.
But if I'm the last one to be hooked but my first time being hooked, I get about 50% chance of Kobe.
But maybe there is another explanation for this. Idk. Feel free to enlighten me on this.
*I run meme perks
Human memory is incredibly fickle and we are prone to biases when it comes to probability. If you want, you can test this in KYF and verify that with a large enough number of trials, there's no difference.
-
If it was restricted to KYF? Sure.
-
It's a special attack, so you can't gain nor lose tokens with it.

As am I. I think I pay enough for internet that’s it’s not my connection. NA servers
If you're in the USA, your connection is going to be fairly poor compared to other countries'. Regardless, P2P has nothing to do with crossplay, so I'm not sure what your reasoning is for wanting P2P if crossplay is disabled.
-
It's 4%, following a binomial distribution. Over 3 attempts, the chance of success is about 11.5%.

It´s not about the hooking, it´s about the survs wanting to kill themself IF the killer plays scummy. If he doesn´t play scummy the survs wouldn´t want to kill themselfs
lol, I've been more survivors DCing and suiciding because a killer got them first than I have because a killer was camping or whatever.

What's weird about this statement is that its not true. Throughout human history everyone has been and taken offense to things and have been snowflakes. In the past when a person didn't like a message or statement/line the actors said in a movie or TV show they would write letter to the stations complaining to them about it. To say this century is full of snowflakes is wrong when every century has had snowflakes.
Yup. It's like the complaints about "cancel culture" or literally any technological development in recorded history.

Yeah, so we can go against Undying, Ruin, Thrill of the Hunt, Retribution, and Haunted Grounds all in one match!!!
That's literally impossible, there are only 5 totems in each map.
-
There was a suggestion a while back about making the 5th perk slot for Hex perks only while the others are just whatever, but with Undying this would be completely broken. Giving killers a 5th perk slot without any restrictions would be even more broken.
-
It depends on the projectile and distance. Each long-range power has a travel speed and trajectory that depend on the killer. Clown and Huntress, for example, throw their things in an arc, but at different angles. Doctor hits in a cone, Executioner hits in a line, and so on.

If I'm not mistaken, this is a known issue with the dailies and it's being worked on.

The page on the wiki for "Hatch" could easily be about half of the length that it is.
But then you'd complain that it doesn't have all the relevant information (and you'd be right).

Sure, needing to read every single word on the page is good. Having it be completely random where the information you may need is located.
Yeah I think the pages are a scrambled mess and the actual useful information is too spread about. If I changed it it would probably get reverted back by some of the mafia members. Are you one?
It's not completely random, it's literally in the sub-section titled "Using Keys". I found it immediately, didn't even have to read the entire article.
No, I very rarely edit the wiki. I have about 20 edits spread across 3 years.
-
That's a 12-minute video, you're gonna have to be more specific about the time. Also, just for the record, this is not how you send additional information to the mods.

I wish someone would launch an operation "make the wiki good". There are so many small details it doesn't seem to have on it.
I just got annoyed with 2 people for bailing on me in a huge chase and there excuse is the hatch closes after awhile so I wanted to know if true.
The wiki is good, but it's not the wiki's fault if you don't read the articles properly. If you think the wiki is bad, then you're free to help improve it.
-
"Opening it will cause the Key-bearer to automatically jump in and escape, leaving it open for 30 seconds for any other Survivor to escape as well, after which it will close shut again, but without triggering the Endgame Collapse."

I really wish the devs would temporarily ban people over this stuff. I play survivor and other survivors have said some very racist, misogynistic, homophobic and ableist (if that's the term???) remarks. I've gotten a few very graphic death threats too (one for not jumping through the hatch before the killer closed it). I don't take these personal, but I don't think it's okay for people to hide behind their screens and act like they're invincible and say whatever they want. In real life they'd probably get beat up
Did you report them?

Though I dont think one is better than the other they're both good depending on what style you like better but to outright say its a clone is a bit far fetched.
It's not far fetched at all. You can deny it, but we all know what we're looking at here.

Maybe Identity V at its very basic gameplay is a clone but thats just whatever it more than makes up for it in other aspects.
I'd like to know how SaS is an obvious clone though besides the injury system?
Because other than the perks, the store (which, BTW, I thought was kinda cool), and the killer's PoV, everything looks, feels, and plays the same as in DbD. There are minor differences, but not nearly enough to make me believe this isn't a DbD clone.

Identity V is more of a DBD clone than this game is and even then Identity V is hardly like DBD in most aspects.
Identity V was designed to be a DbD clone. DbD devs were literally consulted on the project, if I'm not mistaken.
SaS wants to pretend it's not a DbD clone despite being an obvious DbD clone.

@Xbob42 said:
Yeah, I just watched a video of a little bit of gameplay, and my first thoughts were 100% DBD ripoff. Maybe the objectives are different or something, but it was a character that functioned like the nurse, teleports to a survivor, hits the survivor, who gets a speed burst and enters the injured state, and then the killer spends a few seconds wiping his weapon. Same aura system, dude teleports to another survivor who looks to be holding M1 or the equivalent on a shrine or something which the killer can see all of at all times, all on a video labeled "Soul at Stake Gameplay - The New Dead by Daylight?"
Yeah, it's tooootally different, you guys. A lot of the exact gameplay mechanics unique to DBD just fell into it by accident, but there's like, not generators or perks so it's like DBD but less customizable? All with way worse animations and looking like a bad mobile game.
Fantastic.
Video in question: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Xg4o6tv2LA
Looking at that, the game probably would've done better if it had actually just been honest about what it is - a DbD clone.

Also I want to mention something very important. If you guys want to support something, then support everyone no matter of their gender, color skin or sexual orientation. Because supporting only one side feels like you guys making a hate on white people that have a straight sexuality orientation and that makes the community diversed from each other making it even more toxic than it used to be. Be impartial ffs.
Literally every single character with an explicit orientation has been heterosexual. You're covered, don't worry.

Well, I'd say the issue is that people will call anything and everything political. To some people, your harmless recommendation of just having a gay character, subtly and without even focusing on that in their bio, is political. Yui got a surprising amount of backlash initially because her story of domestic assault was "political", and Zarina being Arab-American filmmaker was automatically "political" even though they kept the focus of her work fairly simple. And personally, I'm of the opinion that if simply acknowledging that other kinds of people or experiences exist is politics, then I can't agree that politics don't have a place in games.
At any rate, I think BHVR is taking a very careful, unforced approach to dealing with these things. Felix is the first character to ever explicitly have a sexuality, and he's straight. If they were just pandering, they would have just made Felix their token gay.
Well, I'd say the issue is that people will call anything and everything political.
This is indeed the issue. It's literally just characters with a given characteristic, no different from Jake liking the outdoors or Kate playing the guitar.
Felix is the first character to ever explicitly have a sexuality, and he's straight. If they were just pandering, they would have just made Felix their token gay.
Small correction: the Nurse was the first character to explicitly mention her orientation.

He WAS holding the game hostage though, by waiting out for the last two survivors to bleed on the ground. He was standing near one survivor and did the spins and lunges around him, watching him slowly bleed out.
Also not much point in shaming him out, he can just buy yet another account if he needs to.
That's not holding the game hostage. Holding the game hostage means there is no way for the game to end unless one or more players disconnect because one or more players are preventing it from ending. The game is on a set timer if the survivors are bleeding out, so it's not a hostage situation. That's just being an #########.

IMO, yes. While slugging, camping, and tunneling are not bannable, doing it repeatedly to everyone you meet in that manner (to be abusive) will probably incur some penalty (assuming other people report him as well). Furthermore, it definitely sounds like someone evading a ban, which is bannable in and of itself.
-
I hear you, but compare Ghostface to the Wraith. When you lightburn the Wraith (equivalent to revealing him), he suffers a short stun. This is actively advantageous to the survivor who burned him and actively detrimental to the Wraith - as it should be, since it's a counter.
With Ghostface, revealing him doesn't change your circumstances. Your stalk meter is still where he left it. You're still being chased. Hell, you can accidentally give away your location just by panning the camera, as @notstarboard said.
This is a counter, yet it gives multiple advantages to one being countered and negligible advantages to the player(s) who used the counter. That's backwards.

Of course I'm playing to win, but I can play without being a toxic #########.
You're not really playing to win if you handicap yourself with arbitrary restrictions like "don't end the trial too soon" (whatever "too soon" even means). Playing to win means playing to win. It means defeating the opponent in any way you can (within the confines of the real rules, like the ones about not hacking).
Also, you said you don't play to win in your OP, you said you play "for fun". You're also literally chastising players for winning (because they're playing to win) instead of playing in the way you want.
-
2v6 with 8 generators to be repaired (from a total of 10) is the ideal ratio, IMO. However, I doubt this would see much play.

Ur referring to anarchy. I'm not talking about anarchy. Ur freedom is violence. My freedom is about offending ppl. Its ok to have freedom where ppl are offended. It's not ok to have pre 2012 Somalia, as u would call "total freedom".
We CAN have rules and regulations WITHOUT infringing upon individual rights and liberty. but it may offend ppl. My freedom is u can exercise freedom, but not physically harm ppl.
Anarchy is total freedom, whether you like it or not. Nobody answers to anyone, everyone does whatever they want. That is what total freedom looks like - anarchy.
We CAN have rules and regulations WITHOUT infringing upon individual rights and liberty.
You literally can't. The whole point of rules and regulations is that they prohibit you from doing certain things, thereby infringing on individual rights and liberty. In the USA, for example, saying certain sentences can get you arrested and/or put under federal investigation - look it up.
Also, just for the record, you literally have no rights unless your government says you do, because rights aren't some god-given mystical construct, they're just a list of things your government says you can do.

Hides it 3 times. Let's not distort the truth. Badum tsh.
But what's the issue with notifying when you're being stalked? Denying Ghostfaces power either involves getting hit by him or exposing his shroud.
And Meyers can stalk mid chase. At that point he's not hiding in bushes. Old Spine Chill works the exact same way requiring him to stare right at you, except it won't go off if they decide to knife you instead.
And killer Instinct is extremly obvious when it goes off too. A Legion stabs someone nearby or you step in a Pyramid Head trench, you know that they know you're there.
The issue is every other action. You shouldn't be punished for looking at your target when trying to hit them playing as killer.
Just for the record, I am fully on board with a rework to Spine Chill. A perk that ######### over all the stealth killers and TR-reducing perks and add-ons should not exist, period. I just wanted to clarify a few things and explain why knowing when your aura is being revealed would be a bad rework.
If it was just notifying you when you're being stalked, I could see that working. However, like Calm Spirit, it should probably have some other effect that doesn't rely on the killer you're going up against.
-
So, closer to the original DS, but it's disabled if you're not being tunneled or if you're put into the dying state? I can see this working, as long as it's also disabled during the collapse (thanks, Xzan).
