I am playing Siege right now. I have been paying since Mira was added.
I remember the Clash bit specifically. She was disabled MULTIPLE times. Nearly every time that exploit came up. My friends used to joke about maining her while she was disabled. That said, while it happened multiple times, it was still fixed. Ubi was also pretty open about fixing it. Mira had the same thing where she could hold up a mirror and a gun at the same time.
The difference here, however, isn't random bugs or exploits happening in DbD. It's the CORE GAMEPLAY LOOP. To compare to Siege, it would be like if that game allowed Defenders to run out during the drone phase and shoot the attacking operators. In fact, in its early days, I think that was ACTUALLY possible, so they made it so Attackers didn't physically spawn in until the drone phase was complete. It's also why every level was given multiple LoS blocks to the attacker spawns. Even minor updates see assets added to block run outs and spawn peaks at the start of a match on certain maps with notorious issues. Most recently was Chalet, and before that Border.
DbD does none of that. To make another point of this, Siege has roughly 200-250 devs working on it. DbD has 500-600. Siege radically altered the core gameplay to improve it when the launch was a mess, and pulled that game up from the ashes into a VERY good, albeit punishing, game. BHVR DID improve the game from its early versions, but many core gameplay issues remain despite how long they've been a problem. BHVR seems perfectly fine letting problematic core gameplay design issues just sit there, creating problems. In Siege, the devs understood that having problematic run outs and spawn peaks wasn't fair to the players, so they fixed it. They also understood that leaving those problems in the game would mean that players would use them. In DbD, we still have camping and tunneling, and they've scarcely been addressed. What's worse, when the devs come up with an idea on how to fix it, they make the fix an optional perk instead of a core gameplay adjustment. Imagine if, in Siege, to avoid a run-out or spawn peak that got you killed upon your character model being spawned in, you had to swap your rifle for a shield. Rather than fix the issue, they just gave you the OPTION to sacrifice your gameplay to avoid the issue. That's what DbD does. It's wrong.
DbD has 500-600.
This is false. Behaviour Interactive as a whole has about 600 employees. That includes non-developers (PR, for instance), as well as developers who are working on different projects. Furthermore, of those who are actually working on DbD, not all of them are programmers. You wouldn't want artists or lore writers working on the game's code, would you?

If you’re consistently countering nurses those aren’t good nurses you’re fighting.
Also she’s the most fun killer to be chased by for you not everyone enjoys having little to no I put in their chase
If you’re consistently countering nurses those aren’t good nurses you’re fighting.
Why is it so difficult for you to consider that you might just be worse than me at countering the Nurse? I'm a former Nurse main, I know how she plays, I know her strengths and weaknesses, and I know how her players think.
Also she’s the most fun killer to be chased by for you not everyone enjoys having little to no I put in their chase
If you have little to no input in your chase, again, that's on you.

No it’s because they don’t just ignore what the survivor does completely. Fact is against nurse you could remove all the pallets from the map and the outcome would be the same.
As someone who has successfully (and purposefully) stunned Nurses, and even won chases against her, I can guarantee you it wouldn't be, at least for me. If you have trouble going up against her, that's on you, and it saddens me that the most fun killer to be chased by is going to be nerfed because people refuse to learn how to play differently.

Then why are blight oni and huntress so well liked? They break basic looping patterns in fun ways.
Oni doesn't (without his real power, he's just a basic M1 killer), and it's probably because they're easier to learn how to play against.

From all the comments I feel like Nurse is going to get Nerfed again I'm kind of sad. :(
She probably will, yes. It's easier than learning how to play against her, after all. It also makes me sad that the most unique killer, who can provide interesting moments that break from the usual survivor mold of "hold M1" or "loop" is going to be nerfed because people want every single killer to feel and play the same way from the survivors' perspective.

They need to make a perk where if you crouch and uncrouch twice in a row within a 2 second period, that skeletal hands burst from the ground and hold you in place for 2 seconds. That will stop them, bing bong.
Survivors teabag each other to say "thank you", though.

So penalty is still on.
Not everyone understand, so one more time - im talking here about specific situation, when im last person alive, on ground, and i cant do NOTHING to end game. Some of killers want close hatch, thats sucks enough, few times i died on ground, because they could not find it. Just because they wanted those extra 500 points im forced to wait. Others, and encountered few already, dont care about hatch, they will just watch you die - they will stay around and watch. Sadistic ######### or salty players, whatever, i dont care.
I care about my wasted time tho, when i cant do nothing and im forced to... do nothing really, waste time, no, not even that, because someone is wasting my time - just lie and wait 4 minutes. And on top of that killers will be rewarded for doing that. :/ Yes, those people will not hook me even before health countdown is over.
And i found this whole situation silly. First, developers of this game, force us to have profanity filter on, IN 18+ GAME WHERE YOU MAIN OBJECTIVE IS TO LITERALLY MURDER OTHER PLAYERS, but "bad words", omg, not that! Too much for my little fragile adult brain, clearly i could not hande "######### you" in chat, lol. And yet they allow and support every toxic behavior in this game, because "freedom" of gameplay, i guess - slugging last player 4 minutes, farming, challenges, bloodpoints overall - this situation is in at least 50% caused by bloodpoints and how bad this whole system is to healthy gameplay. With this they do nothing, but "bad words", god forbid. :/
So penalty is still on.
When people refer to the DC penalty, they mean the lock-out.

No, we get it. We've all been there. However, as you said...

You can't accept that and complain about how they kill you. Letting people bleed out is as much of a staple in horror films as just brutally slaughtering them.

Former Nurse main, but these tips should still apply.
- The Nurse's blink landing area has a hitbox. You can use this to block survivors, or even to find them (if you're using Plaid Flannel and pay attention). However, because of this, you need to charge longer than you'd expect to go behind a survivor who's on the other side of a pallet or rubble.
- The Nurse's blinks are not instantaneous. Keep that in mind when you try to catch a survivor who's far away.
- You can aim down to shorten your blink distance, which is very useful against survivors who constantly double back. However, you have to keep in mind any underground areas and avoid aiming at them, or you'll blink into them.

I'm guessing it's because the format of what you typed is similar to a URL. If you'd typed "ok bro, i don't care, have a good day", I doubt it would've been blocked.
Personally, I've never had the filter block anything I've said, including things that some people have reported having been blocked.
PS: If you want the chat removed, you can just close it. There's no need to prevent everyone from using it if you're the one who wants it gone.

Cleansing totems is not a NOED counter.
You can clean 4 out of 5 and the only totem you can't find is the one that ends up getting NOED, making it MORE difficult to get rid of than it might've been if you hadn't cleansed the totems you could find.
You can clean 5 out of 5 and then it turns out the killer didn't have NOED, meaning you wasted a ton of time to counter nothing.
You can clean 5 out of 5 totems and then it turn out the killer did have NOED, at which point it still worked about as well as Ruin or Thanatophobia.
Seriously, cleansing totems does not counter NOED.
And comparing NOED, which requires all five totems to be destroyed, to Devour Hope, which requires one totem to be destroyed, is especially nonsensical.
Even if NOED isn't a problem balance-wise, it is a problem design-wise and should be reworked to better reward totem cleansing as its counter.
You really only need to cleanse one totem - the one NOED spawns on (if and when it spawns). If, however, you want to prevent NOED from ever becoming an issue, then you cleanse all of them.
A strategy I've seen being kicked around is to cleanse only a few well-hidden totems, then check the rest that you found along the way for NOED before rushing for the gate.

No. Players should not be able to influence the matchmaker, no matter what.

In the context of the movie(s) they appeared in, the actors don’t have the rights to their own face. J.L. Curtis doesn’t own her “Laurie” appearance, the studio does. It’s weird, but it is what it is.
I doubt any studio actually buys the rights to the actors' likeness for eternity. They probably license the actors' likeness for merchandise and the films that they've already made, but not for new things like this.

In my opinion, actors should have in mind that if it weren't for BHVR, I might never have watched the movies they played in - I say it quite honestly - "Halloween", "Nightmare on Elm Street" or "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" I saw them because of that, that I started playing DBD and became interested in where they came from. I'm probably not the only one like that. So IMO Dead by Daylight makes their popularity too, so they should be more 'friendly' about licence. :)
No offense, but I highly doubt they care about one more person watching their movies. Even if they did, they'd still want to be paid.

Play however you want, as long as it's within the rules. Everyone else does it too.
Just for the record, it's "treat", not "threat". "Threat" means that someone is asserting that they will cause injury (or some other negative effect) to you.
-
And if there are multiple paths? Should the game pick the cheapest? The shortest?
-
Small Game tells you how many totems are cleansed and helps you find them.

Is there any ETA on that? I was kind of hoping the game already had an mmr system. But, well, obviously it doesn't.
There was a test recently that I believe was intended to see how long the system took to properly rank someone. Anyway, I'd wager they'll have it ready before the end of the year, but that's 100% speculative.

I agree. And I highly doubt that the majority of players will suicide once they have the Crown. Yes, some matches will be affected by it, probably at the beginning of the event and near the end, but it will not be massive.
At the very least, there should be another requirement, like, repair a full Gen (so 80 Charges), this means, someone who suicides with a Crown was at least somewhat helpful before.

That's not what happened before, though. Suicides/DCs were common because even one suicide/DC prompted the other survivors to suicide/DC.

If do you it repeatedly, that can become bannable. That can become bannable for not playing the game.

1. Running in circles is only an issue because of the different hitboxes. They could test it, by changing the hitbox size for a 24h test. Just like they tested turning bloodlust off.
2. Closing the windows in the house of pain would be changing 1 line of code (which arguably could open 20 random windows and cause other totally unrelated bugs, because of the spaghetti code). But it shouldn't be to hard to close down the semi infinites.
3. I never claimed anything else. Now the question is, do we balance around solos or SWF? Pre RE chapter, survivor queues were pretty long during prime time. People argued, that it's because survivors want to play with their friends. So if the number of SWF is so big that it severely affects survivor queues, then the game should be balanced around SWF.
4. The bloodpoint cap forces survivors to play differently. Instead of playing the way they want. Some people enjoy chases. Others prefer hugging gens and others love to rescue others. If the need to do all 3 things goes away, the game would progress differently. Be more enjoyable for everyone.
5. The killer bonus bloodpoint addons exist to make the game harder for killers. Why isn't there something similar for survivors? Shouldn't there be something similar? People always complain that WGLF isn't of the same level as BBQ. While they should complain that the bonus bloodpoint addons aren't.
- The issue is hitboxes and relative acceleration. Killers slow down much more than survivors when they turn, relative to their maximum speed. Furthermore, they have the same acceleration, so it takes longer for killers to recover from turning than it does survivors. It could easily be fixed if killers and survivors were to reach their top speed at the same time.
-
Original. Unless it's the Candyman.
-
What would be the point of the event if they'd just give us everything?

It's possible, because there are a lot more rare items, so the odds of getting any one rare item are actually lower than any one ultra-rare.
Probability is a funny thing.

DBD has never really been in a good place, either it is matchmaking, cosmetic rewards, the excessive grind, the balancing and overall optimization.

I really wanted to participate in this 5th Anniversary event, even though the rewards are not that good...but the experience is just so unbearable that I a killer main don't want to play killer because survivor side is slightly better
I'm glad the community is expressing their anger and disappointment to BEhaviour who continues to ignore the glaring issues and fail to acknowledge our complaints. I remember when DBD used to give original chapters and meaningful event rewards FOR FREE! But they have grown so big and are now slaves to the almighty dollar and shareholders so the supportive communty who brought them to success is brushed aside, unfortunately nothing will change until they have a real competition or the community just stops supporting them.

I am not upset because we didn't win. It's not about that at all. It's about killers constantly choosing to make games miserable when they have every advantage and some really good reasons to NOT camp, tunnel, and slug for a change. And they still won't.
Question: When's the last time you considered the killer's fun when you had the upper hand and let them get some kills?
You're assuming your fun even factors into the killers' decision-making process, when the fact is, it doesn't. The killer is trying to win, same as you.
