Dude I've made you DC in game before , and if he gets butt hurt over a bunch of pixels humping the ground than he deserves to be upset people like you get way too emotional about this game like it's real life or something
I wish the forum rules didn't prevent me from giving you a perfect reply.

So the killer should be pissed because they used perks? Dude you're so biased it's ridiculous at this point , and you should try actually playing the game more than a hour every two weeks if you're gonna be taken seriously on discussions
I literally said the killer's attitude was not OK, but hey, reading is overrated.

No.

I believe Peanits said that higher survival rate is true only in the case of a very minor group od players who keep their rank most of the time. Survival rate at higher ranks is 43% taking into account all players who also lose their ranks but still are in high ranks.
Nope. I already explained where the 80% stat came from, as well as the 43% stat. Read my reply to you.

That website doesn't work at all. Anyone with a friends-only or private profile (i.e.: the majority of DbD players) won't show up.

So you're ok to argue as long as it makes you look like you're in the right? lmao.

I'll take that as a "No". Next time, don't waste my time with your pedantry.

"The survival rate at rank one is 60%+"
Wow, that was so hard and not disingenuous, instead of trying to make it look like survivors are winning maybe 80% of their matches by giving huge ranges.
It's like the stat for 4Mans being 5% and saying 4man matches are between 5% & 25% lmao.
Ready to address the actual issue? I honestly don't care about literally anything else you have to say.

Does anyone else get told that a stat is nowhere near a certain number like "nowhere near" and then still use that number anyway?
Do you have another number I could use as an upper limit so that you can address the actual issue instead of being pedantic about my usage of a number that I explicitly said was just part of a wide range of numbers?
-
Does anyone else have any problem understanding what "between" means?

I'm more curious as to where the 60% has come from. I didn't pretend anything, you literally say "60% and 80%", and when someone tells me "it's nowhere near 80%" I certainly wouldn't be using that as my end point.
Seems pretty disingenuous to have someone tell you it's nowhere near a certain number and then still using that number.
Between 60% and 80%.
Between 60% and 80%.
Between 60% and 80%.
Between 60% and 80%.
Between 60% and 80%.
Between 60% and 80%.
Not 60% and 80%. Not 60%. Not 80%. Between 60% and 80%. Let me know when you've understood this sentence.

60 to 80% survival rate at higher ranks? And you have taken this data from where exactly? Are you from the dev team or was it just a wild guess with no grounds just to support your argument?
You guys are seriously blowing this SWF thing out of proportion. One does not have to be in SWF to stomp killers as it was proven by the depip squad. All survivors have to do is to be focused on their objective and not be overly altrustic. Genrush meta is insane and not many killers can apply enough pressure if survivors are focued mainly on gens. These are facts.
Sure voice coms give playes some advantage that is why in order to bridge the gap between solo survivors and SWF the game should have in-game chat as in Deathgarden - only difference, when survivors write something in the chat killer gets a notification so using is would be risky.
From the data that the devs themselves posted.
The survival rate at rank 2 was 60%, but at rank 1 it was 80%. However, this discrepancy is due to the way the data was gathered. They got the rank data after the trials ended, and as you can probably guess, it's extremely difficult to pip as a survivor while dying at higher ranks. Thus, the survival rate of survivors who were rank 1 after a trial was inflated, while the survival rate of survivors who were rank 2 dropped slightly, since they were rank 2 when the data was gathered.
That's why I said between 60% and 80%, because the way the data was gathered and the way ranking works lowered the survival rate at rank 2 and inflated the survival rate at rank 1.

That's why I said "between 60% and 80%". As in "neither 60% nor 80%, but a number that is larger than 60% and smaller than 80%". Why are you pretending I said 80%?

I mean, what I listed was a source of frustration, too, possibly, related to the perks you could use. We really aren't seeking out to understand why he's frustrated. For all we know, he had an argument with his SO and is taking it out on whoever's his opponent. It means about as much as personally not liking some perks.
Well, this is the only data point we have, so I based my speculation on that. I'm not psychic, as far as I know, so I had no other recourse.

Before we move on, there's a common misconception about the "Rank 1 43% survival rate"
The reasoning behind the 43% is because of the most common killer played at rank 1 through 4.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/772/0ZYK0P4TMTQV.jpg
You guessed it, the Nurse, and we all know how God-like a Nurse can be if used correctly.
Now, back to the topic, yes perks are better, but you don't need to use certain perks because voice communications gives you almost the exact power of those perks. Therefore, this frees up room for SWF players to use more perk combos, and ultimately, give them more overall strength.
The real misconception is that the 43% survival rate only occurred after they relaxed the pip requirements and flooded high ranks with bad survivors. The real survival rate of genuinely top-tier survivors is between 60% and 80%.

That's like saying "You used Ruin, so obviously the survivors were toxic" or "You used BBQ, so you should expect this treatment." People should be able to use any perks they wish, so long as they're not bugged terribly to the point they break the game in some way. In that case, they should be fixed, though, imo. Someone running a perk isn't an excuse to flaming and being rude.
Where did I say any of those things? Seriously, are you even reading what I'm writing? My first comment explicitly says I'm not condoning this behavior, yet I have multiple people who apparently either skipped that part or lied about it.
-
@Johnny_XMan said:
@Orion Your first comment insinuates that because of perks like (Adrenaline, Lithe, Self Care) being used, condones the killer to say whatever non-sense they feel like.
You are then called out on it, and act as if "everyone" is just calling you a salty killer main. Disregarding any actual reasoning behind why people didn't agree with you in the first place. Only to then try to backpedal and say "Killer was probably frustrated because..." (because in reality you don't even know why he/she is going off in chat) when your initial comment was dead set on "And you wonder why the killer is slightly pissed?".
Who cares why the killer was frustrated? Clearly it wasn't perks because if you look at the chat log he never once mentioned any of those perks. Even if that was the case, using certain perks shouldn't give license to anyone (survivor or killer) to talk smack and make insults in post match chat.
My first comment lists potential sources of frustration and then explicitly says I'm not condoning the killer's behavior. That comment is only three sentences long. The fact that you people chose to ignore the third sentence is not on me.

oh yeah cause its not like 2 of those perks are simply to avoid the killer camping and/or tunneling, lithe is meh imo , the only perk that should get them upset is adrenaline tbh
I've seen Borrowed Time and Decisive Strike be used more often to hook rush than I've seen them used against campers. Regardless, I was just listing possible sources of frustration.

Me: Killer was probably frustrated because of [insert list here], but what he did was still not OK.
Seemingly everyone who disagrees: LOL, LOOK AT THE SALTY KILLER MAIN!
It's fine if you disagree, but at least don't lie about what I said.
-
Funny how people like to pretend I said something I didn't. Those perks aren't toxic, but they are frustrating to go against. Add teabagging to the mix and it leads to comments like the ones in the screenshots.

They will implement it once dedicated servers are up and running.

Except were not, every good killer main knows she's ridiculously strong with her add ons. It has absolutely nothing to do with the 5% of matches.
Every survivor main knows SWF is ridiculously strong if they try even a little bit. It has absolutely nothing to do with the 5% of matches, that was just something you brought up to dismiss legitimate concerns and criticism.

You don't have to be good at nurse at all to play well with her, she literally ignores every survivor counter.
Additionally I literally said this earlier
"Therefore the nurse should be nuked into the ground because i'd bet 5% of the nurses matches are over in 4 minutes"
Does it sound dumb to nerf nurse because of 5%? I think so, so why are we trying to nerf swf for 5% of matches.
You guys don't understand what a double standard is.
Because we are nerfing Nurse because of 5%. The average Nurse player is hot garbage.
-
@ClogWench said:
They're fixing add-ons and lightly touching on her power. Never confirmed her power is getting a nerf tho, just being lightly tweaked
"Tweak" means "nerf". It has meant "nerf" for three years and I doubt they'd suddenly do something differently this time.
My complaint is about the nerf to her power. Base Nurse is balanced.
This is why people become polarized: if you support nerfing her add-ons, they'll go overboard and change her base power. So people will stop supporting any changes, because they always take it one step further.

Nurses in training should not be taken into account while discussing balance of the game - let us make that perfectly clear. Nurse is a very weak killer in hands of people who start to main her and we all agree we should balance the game around the highest level of play. Now getting that out of the way my proposition still stands - Barin or you can prove how balanced she is in KYF. I know quite a few of pro Nurse mains and games against them can be scary - you can prove to me she's balanced with 5 blinks. Please I want to be debunked and proven wrong.
If she was broken, as so many people claim, she'd stomp no matter the skill of the person playing her.

If you see it that way, that it's really that bad.. then why do you keep playing? Why keep posting here? I just don't understand. I see so many people say "I'm so done with this game, the devs are ruining it, I'm not playing anymore! ...oh but I'll still come to the forum to 'check in' once in a while" .. which really ends up translating to "I'm going to throw a temper tantrum, not post for a week and then come back to complain every single day." It blows my mind.
I've literally never done any of those things. I stick around because I hope the devs will make the gameplay more fun.

We were discussing how "easy" surviving is,so it does make sense.
Well, survivors cheat sometimes, so playing killer is harder. Killers also DC, which guarantees an escape.
Do you want me to continue, or can we get back to discussing what actually matters when it comes to balancing?
-
@StrickxNyne said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/600146#Comment_600146
Why is DC on par with cheating? Much like bad killers say tunneling and face camping are part of the game, so is DC. DC is an option put by developers that should be utilized against face camping, toxic tunnelers who hump you. If they didn't want it they would make you pull the plug and start over like every other game, however a DC is simply pushing start and Y. I learned it from many killers who DC when 3 gens pop during their face camps ☺
Disconnecting is against the rules. The option is there because real-life is more important than a game, and thus you may need to disconnect at some point. But hey, be sure to keep disconnecting when dedicated servers roll out. I'm sure it'll be hilarious - for me, anyway.

@Andreyu44 said:

There are multiple ways to see balance.
You either balance around the avarage player or balance around high rank play.
So I guess were both right from two different perspective.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/600124#Comment_600124
All the DCs are definitely my fault thank you for showing me the path.
And I would say that surviving is not easy based on my experience as a killer and survivor because I play both sides and yes I play at red ranks basically every season
(4 MEN SWF IS another story, again)
I thought we were discussing balance issues. DCing has no bearing on balance for the same reason we don't take cheaters into account.
-
DG was launched with dedicated servers in mind. DbD was not, due to budget constraints. DbD is switching to dedicated servers this summer. This is information you already know.
-
DG has dedicated servers. DbD does not.
-
@Andreyu44 said:

Then you would understand that surviving is not easy.
Unless you find optimal teammates+you go against a low tier killer+ the killer is dumb everygame
OR
you play selfishly and hatchcamp everygame
OR
You play in an optimal 4 men swf group.
you are not gonna escape THAT often lets be serious, here.
2-man SWF, playing against derankers. Despite being a mediocre survivor, I escape more often than not.
Maybe the problem is you, and not whatever you want to believe it is.

False equivalency. If Self-Care was nerfed to be 49% speed, but Unrelenting was reverted to what it used to be (9%), those two nerfs would not be equivalent in any way.

I just kinda laugh at everyones knee jerk reactions on every little change. That thread aside, can you really blame people for drawing conclusions from three years and god knows how many patches worth of experience?

Disconnecting is bannable, but only if you disconnect more than a certain (unknown) percentage of games.
