Has anyone tested if it works with Trapper's honing stone traps? Would be crazy if someone got put into the dying state on the other side of the map while everyone around Trapper screams reavealing their position resulting in loads of sudden pressure.

Based on the description, it should work.

I'm just trying to instill a bit of confidence in a community that seems desperate for the Nurse's imminent death. I don't want to make false assumptions or anything else: I simply believe that, from the passion you instill in your messages, you keep the game more than you show it. That's it.

No false assumptions here, just extrapolations based on three years of past experiences.

Do you ever throw a rock in the air and actually expect it won't go back down this time? Same thing.

But you play DbD, so you expect to have fun doing so! :P

I haven't touched it in quite some time. Too much hand-holding on the survivor side and too much looping on the killer side.

This is the problem with assumptions based on absolutely no data - they tend to be faulty.

Remote and distant. People have whined about nurse since her release and it's taken til now for them to decide to touch her. It'd take a while for them to touch a killer like Hag who otherwise gets very little complaint.

Give it time, I'm betting she'll be next after they come for the Hillbilly and Spirit.

You don't really think what you write: if you really believed that the game is done, like an abusive boyfriend, why would you still be wasting time playing it and participating in the forum? Evidently, you hope that things will improve and you trust that you can contribute to this, otherwise you would have already been gone for quite a while. Furthermore, consider that the development team has significantly increased in the last year: what happened at the beginning is not so relevant...

Just because I hope things will get better doesn't mean I expect them to. I hope I win the lottery, but I sure as hell don't expect to (especially since I never play it).

The Legion, the Plague and Ghost Face may be tweaked in any moment: there is nothing definitive in a videogame. I don't want your apologies, I hope you enjoy the game without fearing what doesn't exist yet. :)

Sure, we just have to wait several more years. Just ignore the fact that it's wholly unrealistic and absurd to expect people to stick around for years waiting for something to happen (see every TV show that drags its plot for too long), as well as ignore the years of prior experience.

To say that people are jumping to conclusions after three goddamned years of past experiences is like going back to an abusive boyfriend because "maybe he's changed".

She’ll probably get a hemorrhage and blindness add on, maybe they’ll surprise us. Only time will tell.

She'll get ######### over like the Nightmare.

  • They literally made survivor pipping easier because only the actually good survivors were making it to high ranks (hence the 60% winrate at rank 2).

  • I started out as a survivor main (playing SWF before SWF was even a thing), then both sides, and now I'm a survivor main again.

Although not much, technically five killers are viable.

I edited the comment to be 100% generic and not mention any numbers.

  • @FruityMemes said:

I feel like Nurse needed at least one nerf. If you stun her with a pallet it should stun man lmao. Like I can't count how many times I've stunned her and she's just like nah fam I'ma pass on that lol. It's also a semi good thing she's getting nerfs because high ranks will have less of the same killer over and over. But they should rly just buff the bad ones lol

Nerf a viable killers, and you decrease variety to the remaining viable killers. Why would you ever think that taking away one of the best options would make people flock to the ######### ones?

  • @ASAPTurtle said:

@Orion Ok thanks for clearing that up. Sorry if I came off a little rude but I was ready to go off on the next thing you were gonna say.

It's perfectly fine, my comment was also somewhat rude because I assumed you were one of those people.

  • @LordGlint said:

    @Orion how?

Approach with reduced TR, get a hit, TR is replaced with lullaby, mindgame, GG.

  • @ASAPTurtle said:

@Orion Oh, we haven't raged quit at all recently probably since we started playing with each other was the last time we did. Also if that's all you have to say and nitpick about my post you can move on to the next thread cause I already know that what's gonna come out of your mouth isn't worth complaining about.

Rage quitting is part of every game and it's normal. Trying to prove your point by asking when the last time my group did isn't gonna prove anything.

I was actually trying to see if you were one of those people who says killers just don't want a challenge while simultaneously announcing that you and/or your group disconnect if the killer does/uses this or that, like so many other survivor mains.

  • @LordGlint said:

@Orion I doubt anyone is going to bother using perks that change your TR size on him. Doesnt seem like itll ACTUALLY be useful.

We'll see. I get the feeling it'll be more useful than you realize.

  • @LordGlint said:

@Orion I doubt any Freddys are gonna make builds centered around camping, but it means if they DO decide to run insidious to make sure your BT doesnt work, you wont be able to tell if your asleep...cuz youll still hear the lullaby, lol

I'll keep that in mind when I get back to playing the game.

  • @ASAPTurtle said:

I've played solo survivor for over a year and good lord is it bad. There are those matches where I get my teammates that know what they're doing. Hell, you can loop a killer for 5 minutes and have not a single generator done. It's honestly stupid.

I recently started playing in a SWF with people who I met in past matches and our lives have been so much easier. Survivors being coordinate, helping each other when needed, and understanding the killers movements through-out the match is not cheating. Some of you killers need a challenge once in a while.

So when do you and yours rage quit?

  • They're woven into the forum. I have the highest post count, upvotes, downvotes, Awesome, Promoted (before it became BHVR Read), and probably others I'm forgetting.

I have more vote-ups than you. Where is my red background :(

I am the King, but they took away my crown.

  • @LordGlint said:

@Entità Did abit of testing. The TR IS NOT the same range as the Lullaby. The Lullabys range is 32 meters, which is fixed. while the TR range can be affected by perks. The thing is, a survivor who is asleep will hear the 32 meter Lullaby instead of the TR, which may be shorter or larger with perks. BT MUST be used in the TR range to work. A Freddy standing still using insidious will still have a 32 meter Lullaby range but 0 meter TR, so BT would not work in this instance. If the Freddy stood next to the hook WITH a TR, BT WILL work, even if the survivors cant hear the TR.

    @DudeDelicious @Maelstrom10 @xCarrie @Orion

    That's what I expected.

  • Report, ignore, move on. That's how you deal with toxicity. Let the toxic ######### get themselves banned.

  • @Entità said:

@Orion Also the cloaked Wraith moves into a different realm, the Spirit World, but there is an add-on that gives him, albeit invisible, the terror radius, plus a bonus in BPs. I think we need to analyze the lore according to the mechanics, and not the mechanics according to the lore. The fact remains that I may be wrong: I am only curious to explore what happens in very particular circumstances. :)

I didn't say your conclusion was wrong, just your logic. That add-on allows the terror radius to stay in the Entity's realm. If there's a Nightmare add-on that did the same, then it would make sense. Saying that Borrowed Time should use the person who doesn't even have the perk to judge whether or not it should activate is like saying Solidarity should activate if you're the one being healed.

  • @Entità said:

@Orion So, if tomorrow a deafening status effect will be introduced, which prevents the rescuer from hearing the terror radius, will they become unable to safely rescue the hooked friend?

No, because they're still in the killer's terror radius, they just don't know it. On the other hand, the dream world is a separate realm.

  • @Entità said:

@Orion Yes, but Borrowed Time is a perk aimed at protecting the unhooked survivor, not the rescuer: shouldn't the danger perceived by the first rather than the second survivor take on importance? In the vast majority of cases, there is no difference, but I discuss in principle. The unhooked survivor is the Borrowed Time's "protagonist", or not? The rescuer is just an altruistic mate.

The unhooker is the one who has the perk, therefore the trigger conditions apply to the unhooker. This is game design 101 and is how literally every other perk works.

  • @Entità said:

@LordGlint Maybe after the dedicated servers will be implemented.

Returning to the topic of discussion, according to logic Borrowed Time should always work against Freddy, because the hooked survivor is awake and hears the terror radius, and not the lullaby, regardless of whether the latter is treated like a terror radius (for the purposes of Insidious, for example) or not. The question arises as to what happens if the hooked survivor is the obsession and Freddy has the Black Box add-on, which prevents him from waking up. @Peanits Would you kindly give us your valuable technical and official answer in this regard? :)

The hooked survivor is not the one with Borrowed Time. I'm sure it does work, but your logic is faulty and would, in fact, lead to the opposite conclusion.

  • @Entità said:

I will never get used to this climate of perpetual distrust and dark suspicion that lingers everywhere, a bit like the mist in the realms of the Entity. A teaser has not yet been released, there are no leaks on the Nurse to come, but you are already squirming as if you already knew the transformation. You are only giving voice to your worst fears, confusing assumptions and reality (still unknown). Wouldn't it be the case to wait for more information, before unleashing the usual faction wars that bloody this forum more than the Ebony Mori? XD

Yeah, I mean, we only have three years (barely over 26 thousand hours, but who's counting?) and god knows how many patches worth of data to draw from. Better not jump to conclusions based on so few data points!

Then imagine looking for hatch and finding ######### Myers sitting on top of it while spinning around like madman, and while you still need 3 gens.

I have imagined it. Do you think my advice came out of thin air?

  • I'm a survivor main. Haven't touched killer in quite a long time.

  • @Azurlynx said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/598215#Comment_598215

    -_-

I guess that is possible, but still....

I think I would rather die that do 5 gens while keeping out for killer.

Maybe if 1 gen was left but that ussualy isn't the scenario.

Then go to the killer. You'll die pretty quickly.

Bottom line is, as I've said, neither side should be forced to play stupidly just because the other side feels entitled.

  • @Azurlynx said:

Maybe I should have mentioned I mean killer camping open hatch refusing to close it.

Walk over to the generators and 99% them. Keep an eye on the exit and try to figure out where the killer is coming from so that you can open it safely. Pop the generators. Either the killer closes the hatch or you open the gate because they've gone AFK.

  • @Azurlynx said:

All I want is for hatch to close eventually, maybe after like 1 minute or more or less.

Press the space bar if you're the killer, or jump in if you're the survivor. Hatch closed.

  • @Apple2o said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/594749#Comment_594749

Going chase to chase and being able to rapidly down new survivors means you are better than them. Killing people on their first hook or proxy camping them down doesn't really prove much. Now I love playing a campy basement hag game; but no it doesn't take too much skill to do.

This is PvP. Your opponent doesn't give a ######### if you think they're skilled or not. The fact that you lost already objectively proves you're worse than they are.

  • @LordGlint said:

@Orion If you have time to unhook a survivor, the killer already has time to get to the hatch. While the killer is not entitled to the kill, they ARE entitled to a CHANCE at it. If the time required to travel to the hatch makes it IMPOSSIBLE to do anything, something is wrong...

Im not saying you have to go unhook anyone, just that a delay between when that person dies and the hatch opening would allow the killer to at least have a CHANCE.

There already is a delay. It's called "the sacrifice animation". And let me tell you, it's a pain in the ass.

  • @LordGlint said:

@Orion In what way would a delay of 20 seconds or so be considered playing stupidly?

It would force survivors to play stupidly since the hatch would never work out for them. They'd be forced out onto the open to unhook their teammates (since that would be their best chance for survival), whom the killer would be camping because they knew the survivor could never get the hatch, thanks to the delay.

  • @LordGlint said:

@Orion He didnt say anything about bans. Im pretty sure hes just annoyed at being unable to hook the last survivor and get to the hatch fast enough to close it before the guy who was already standing ontop of it to simply jump in, even if you beelined it there as fast as possible.

Adding a timer implies this strategy is somehow invalid. It's not. Neither side should be forced to play stupidly just because the other side feels entitled to a win.

  • Camping of any kind is not bannable nor against the rules.

  • It's a hole in the wall. Stand on the other side of a hole in the wall and ask someone to punch you through the wall. You may notice that, indeed, there is no magical barrier that will safeguard your face from their fist.

  • To everyone saying "it's not fun": this ain't co-op, it's PvP. The killer is not your teammate, they're your opponent.

  • Given what I've seen from a group celebrating the Legion being gutted, not to mention comments on this forum, it wouldn't surprise me if they were. And now that survivors have learned that mass DC=killer nerf (as opposed to the bans they should receive instead), it'll only get worse.

  • @Avariku said:

"survivors just want to have their cake and eat it too"

meanwhile every hypothetical option provided has been shot down by most killer mains. lol

(granted the 3rd, gen speed increase, is a bad one... the other two could be tweaked and tested)

there will never be a consensus on this issue, just know that if you're the type to actively camp and tunnel for no other reason than to troll or ruin someones game... you're pretty pathetic.

Because the options being provided are bad. Survivors, however, are opposed to the very idea of rewarding killers for not camping (that being the middleground, since neither side likes camping, griefers excluded). All they want is punishments for a tactic that they themselves feed into! It's absolutely mental.

  • @NuclearBurrito said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/597312#Comment_597312

You are both wrong. It's 14 seconds.

Also, you wouldn't even need to use Kindreds effect, since that sometimes gives information that not even SWF would have access to.

Just inform every survivor of which survivors are in the Killer's terror radius, and then rework insidious to not be so campy

That was a typo on my part. You can tell because 16x5=80, whereas 14x5=70 (the time I said it was). I'll correct it.

  • @CoffengMin said:

i really , really hate the totem spots they are waaay too hidden for a perk thats supposed to be risky to use imo

Disabling them is also supposed to be risky. Hiding them makes it high-risk, high-reward for both sides, as opposed to high-risk, high-reward for killers and low-risk, high-reward for survivors.

  • @NMCKE said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/597291#Comment_597291

It takes 12 seconds to break a totem, that's 60 seconds with 5 totems. Assuming you have to walk around the map, that will probably add a lot more time to the survivors' hands.

Also, yeah, it can be incentives, what are you thinking? Any ideas?

Unless they changed something and I didn't read it, it should still be 14 seconds per totem, for a total of 70 seconds.

Everyone has had ideas on how to incentivize killers to leave the hook, but survivors don't want any of that stuff. They don't want to meet killers halfway, they just want to have their cake and eat it too. Many people have suggested incentives. You need only search.

  • @NMCKE said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/597270#Comment_597270

Oh, I see where you're coming now! Yes, because beginners don't know what exactly to do in that situation, and even if they did, like that experienced group, I have my NOED to get me my other sacrifices.

No One Escapes Death adds 60 seconds plus travel time towards the survivors, if they want to cleanse it. However, you can't gen-blitzkrieg and do bones, you simply don't have enough time for it.

If beginners are the problem, then provide incentives for killers not to camp. Besides griefers, they're the only ones who camp even when it provides no tactical advantage.

It's 70 seconds plus travel time, while a generator is 80 seconds. If they've finished even a single generator by the time you catch one of them, then this can all be done simultaneously. 4 gens split between 2 people, plus a third hunting totems. It's not just +70 seconds, like some people may erroneously claim.

Lastly, if NOED allows you to get multiple kills, then the survivors made mistakes. End of story.

  • @NMCKE said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/597246#Comment_597246

Not really, the killer would likely benefit more because the survivor is not using their time wisely. Once that hooked survivor is sacrificed, that's already disaster for the survivors because the killer is on their way to their next sacrifices.

Killers shouldn't be getting anymore than a 2K with camping only, period.

But in your OP, despite two out of the three scenarios being a result of the killer (you) benefiting from the survivors' mistakes, you still think that's evidence that the killers need to be punished for camping.

  • @NMCKE said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/597225#Comment_597225

Then you're feeding the killer because only 2 survivors are progressing the game, and what if you don't correctly judge the 16 meters? You might accidentally walk into the 16 meter range, and screw you team up.

Survivors feeding the killer is cause to punish the killer further, according to your own thread, so it'd still work in the survivors' favor.

1 … 162 163 164 165 166 … 343
