Ok so no facts to be found. Thank you.
No, I don't take down notes about what happens every single trial, nor do I record them all and keep the videos. Do you?

Please provide some data as proof and not your biased assumptions. Stop arguing with your feelings and actually present evidence.
That's based on my observations over the years. Perhaps you have a different experience, but others agreed with mine.

That's mostly because Killers are the power role. They can't be eliminated, can't be stuck in a position where they are unable to act (not counting bugs/exploits) etc. And in an assymetrical game it's a little bit easier for the minority side to control how their side are playing. Actually only a communicative SWF is actually able to slow down, but if they do they risk to be camped, tunneled or slugged by the Killer and that's why most don't do it.
Besides that it's hard to demand other survivors to play nice, if there isn't much of an equivalent of it. Of course there is BMing and stuff like "abusing" strong perks e.g. And let's not talk about exploits or cheats. By my experience, when survivors use those and others see it, they mention it on the after game chat. But when I play with randoms e.g. I'm barely able to figure out what others are doing, how and why. . Quite often I see even survivor arguing for the killer etc. It's not uncommon.
I understand where you are coming from. But I wouldn't call it hypocrisy. It think, it's mor ethe different power shift between survivors and killers which causes the idea that killer should play nice.
The hypocrisy lies in the fact that killers already "play nice" more often than survivors, yet get nothing (or next to nothing) in return for it other than demands for more.

Not immediately killing myself on hook is not BM either. More hooks and unhooks = more points for everyone.
In any case, you’re obviously set on seeing the killer as the victim in this scenario so I’m gonna just bow out of this conversation.
I didn't say it was BM, I said it sent mixed messages, nor did I say the killer was the victim, I said he could've misinterpreted your intentions because he was already tilted.

They could make it cap at like 10 but lower the chance to 20% meaning you could get that 10 more often but your not gonna get something absurd like 20 tries. Survivors get perks and items that make it easier to get out of rng and basically cheat it. Literally deliverance gives you a guaranteed unhook hows that rng?
Deliverance isn't RNG, as you very well know. If something's certain, then it's not random, by definition.
I think the devs like the RNG factor of the Trapper. Making escapes certain after a number of attempts would require reworking his add-ons.

You can try to excuse someone being an ass unprovoked all you want, but he had absolutely no reason to make me bleed out even if I hadn’t been doing him a favour and this is the reason survivors are less likely to take it easy on killers. Some salty killer player on a power trip can waste your time, even a really bad one, if you let them, but bad survivors can’t do that. They can’t remove the killer from the match. As long as killers can kill and survivors can only escape, it will always be more likely for killers to show mercy because it’s inherently less risky to do it.
My point is that from his perspective, it may not have been unprovoked. The fact that you didn't immediately ######### in particular sends mixed messages.

I sometimes smack survivors once when they're hooked to cut their scream short because it's quite annoying.
I don't teabag.

I’m not sure what is confusing about the situation, it’s quite obvious. I wasn’t pissed that he killed me, I was annoyed that he killed me in the most obnoxious way possible. You don’t have to face camp someone and then leave them on the ground to bleed out for four minutes when they were nice to you. It would be like a killer giving me hatch and me then berating them in end game chat for being a pussy. “Well you wanted them to escape and now you’re pissed they did?” No, the end result isn’t the problem, it’s the way they went about it.
Look at it from the killer's perspective. He's been having a ######### trial, completely outmatched. Someone lets himself get hooked, but doesn't immediately kill himself (implying you expected to be rescued, or you would've attempted to self-unhook and let the Entity take you ASAP).
Someone comes in and rescues. Killer's already tilted, so this looks like they're just mocking him further by showing that even if the survivors were to literally hand themselves to him, he still wouldn't be able to get any kills. He decides to let you bleed out.
There's no communication in this game. If someone wanted to give me a sacrifice (hasn't happened yet, but maybe one day), they'd have to be very explicit about it for me to be sure that's what they wanted (for example, literally killing themselves on the hook instead of waiting around).

You can still have it be random but make it more controlled so you dont take like 15 tries to get out of it and you dont have everyone getting out of it first try. They already made it slightly controlled with slippery meat which makes the 25% chance a 50% chance. So you wanna talk about removal of randomness.
It's either random (meaning follows a certain probabilistic distribution) or it's controlled (meaning it's pre-determined). Can't have it both ways. Slippery Meat increases the probability, but it's still random.

Maybe you are right with that, i am not saying that survivors are little angles and killers are beasts. All i say is that there are those people on both sides who play friendly in situations when the other side is struggeling to get anything done. Thats why i think any arugment which is generalizing about the other side is wrong.
And I'm saying that it's usually killers who play nice, with constant demands from survivors to play nicer. Saying "both sides do it" is disingenuous because it completely ignores the actual number of people who do it.
If I point out that men are, on average, taller than women, and you point out that women can also be tall (and so "both men and women can be tall"), you're not addressing anything I said. You're using a technicality to dismiss my statement.
-
@xenotimebong said:

This is true but I’d say it’s down to the asymmetrical nature of the game. Killers can straight up remove survivors from the match if they decide to, if you go easy on survivors the worst they can do is teabag you. I’ve had times where I regretted going easy on survivors but nowhere near as much as I’ve regretted being nice to killers.
I still remember a match from a few months back against a Clown who was really struggling. I felt bad for him so I let him hook me, he proceeded to face camp me into stage two, immediately downed me again once I got unhooked and slugged me until I died to the end game. None of us were toxic and I tried to be nice to the guy and he was a complete dick in response. Needless to say I don’t give free hooks as often now.
So you wanted to give him a free kill, but you're pissed that he actually took it? I'm confused.

Of course you are right with that, but there are those people who care about the other side aswell (even tho they are rare). Bringing in a statement like "i dont care for other people because they dont care for me" does not lead us anyway, isnt it?
Obviously the game is supposed to beplayed the way everyone is playing it (play ruthless) otherwise it would loose a lot of its charm. But it cant be a bad idea to go easy on the other side every once in a while when you see you are dominating them hardcore.. just for the sake of a more insteresting and fun gameing experience.
I didn't bring in that statement, I'm pointing out the hypocrisy in demanding killers play nice when they actually do play nice more often than survivors, but survivors don't demand other survivors play nice as often as they do killers.

Who says they are not? A few weeks ago i played in a 3 man versus a legion on mothers dwelling, the legion was obviously not not that good (turned out he was rank 9 vs rank 1) so instead of finishing the last gen, we started doing all the other gens to 99 and the totems aswell. The only reason for that was to give him more time to get free hooks and we all get more bloodpoints.
Experience says they're not. Let's not pretend you don't know as well as I do that killers are more likely to go easy on survivors than survivors are to go easy on killers.
-
Not sure where the image is, I didn't save it. It's old, mind, but there's no reason to believe that it went down from 50% to 0,05% (that'd mean 99,9% of every SWF just stopped playing, which is absurd).

Just a min ago someone complimented me again for giving them the hatch, survivor was rank 5, I'm currently rank 14 with 1 perk on legion, survivor was really surprised that I was kind to them, with no toxicity I can just always give the last survivor the hatch like I usually do on ps4 and not feel like someone is gonna threaten me lol
I had a survivor tell me he was going to murder my wife and child because I got a 4k. Like I said, it won't always be that way. Unfortunately, BHVR didn't do nearly enough to curb the toxicity.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1269713#Comment_1269713
Well then, your point of few does not make a lot of sense either. Because nobody goes in and gives the killer a free 4K and so is of course also no killer downing all 4 people, pick them up, let them do all gens and then let them leave (well actually i do with my AKA "FriendlyKiller" account)... Thats not the topic at all, its about why go for 4K slug even survivors have lost anyway.
People here are wondering why the killer is not giving them at least a chance to get something done. A nice play would be to hook someone of the slugged and give the last standing person the chance to pick up one of his teammates. Your response to that "Ah, yes, I can definitely remember when survivors all huddled around the hook for me to kill them after I had a ######### game where they completely dominated..." does not make a lot of sense in that way.
Giving an auto 4K =/= giving the other side at least a chance.
Alright then, let's go for a closer comparison. Why don't all survivors play worse when they're up against a newbie killer?
-
@xEa said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1269697#Comment_1269697
Also that happens, but only if i play in a full team. We dont give the killer 4 kills, but at least some hooks. Unfortunatly we stoped this at some point because we ran into killers that got greedy and very selfish (killing all of us eventually). At the endgame chat when asking him what this was all about you get an answer like "i am the killer, your fault you trust me"... no wonder nice survivors refuse to give potentially friendly killers anything anymore.
I think it goes both ways, selfish people just like those i discribed ruins the reputation of all other killer mains, and it spreads misstrust all over the game. Same goes for survivors of course.
I also explicitly said "kills", not "hooks", so, again, your example is not relevant.

SWF which is 0.05% of the survivor base suddenly is everywhere, interesting. I guess you are just the most unlucky person in the world, or you just suck that bad that every game feels like a SWF game. Also DS and DH are not even close to every game, let along every survivor lmao.

Physicist
Even in the Entity's realm, the most basic laws of motion still apply. You can see the travel path/area of effect of any ranged offensive maneuver (hatchets, gun hook, shock, etc.) before and while they're being fired. This perk is deactivated for 40/30/20 seconds after taking damage.
"It's just physics."

Focus
You know how to focus your senses. Once this perk is activated, lose all vision and movement to be able to listen for distant noise sources (no visual representation, literally just playing the audio if you're facing the right way). Focus cannot be activated if you're injured, dying, hooked, being carried by the killer, or performing any interaction. Focus can only be activated once every 50/40/30 seconds.
"If you'd just shut up and listen for a damn minute, maybe you'd hear it too."

An Engineer, not a doctor
You can understand how things work. Your good skill checks become great skill checks that provide 25%/33%/50% of the normal progression bonus. However, you can't heal anyone or yourself without a medkit.

I actually do get sacrificed in matches where the Killer played well but was out played. Not only will I do that, the one person I play with occasionally will do it also, because we figure 2 out / 2 in is fair and it's likely we'll PIP.
I don't recommend a style of play I don't readily use myself.
Also, when a Killer slugs everyone with 5 gens undone, people didn't even get to play the match. When survivors best the Killer and leave, they did all 5 gens, giving the Killer ample time to get their job done.
If the survivors dominate, it's because the killer couldn't do their job (they were outmatched) and didn't really get to play, but sure, come up with a rationalization for why killers have to play nice, but survivors don't.

It could be alittle more controlled so it cant take between 1 and 20 tries because obviously a trapper would have a easy game if all survivors took like 15 chances to escape and a hard game if it took them all 1. In other words, you want it to not be random any more.

They could use pseudo-random distribution.
Doubt they will, but it could work.
That is what they do. Computers, being deterministic machines, are not capable of true randomness. They use pseudo-random algorithms (already written in every programming language, they didn't write the algorithms themselves) that are indistinguishable from the real thing unless you examine the output values one by one and realize they're in a sequence (of about 2^32 numbers, if not higher).

1-5 or 1-15, landing an escape attempt on the former vs the latter is still "random". Which instance would you rather have? A consistent parameter, say 1 in 5 attempts (base kit, no add ons) is still "random". Hence why I said it is poor, because when I play as the killer, survivors escape quickly. Than when I verse a Trapper as a survivor, it will take me more than 5 attempts to escape.
Guaranteeing that it happens at a certain point is literally the opposite of random.

Reeling in takes time, depending how close they are and if you are unable to reel in you either sacrifice the hit or take a major stun. And after either result you have to reload. Huntress can hit furthur away so a skilled huntress isn't hindered by a chain that only goes a set distance.
Hatchets take much longer to travel (making them easier to dodge) and require you to go to a locker to replenish them, whereas the hook travels very quickly and can be reloaded on the spot. Hatchets also need to be charged, but the gun is always ready to fire.
Furthermore, if you say that a good Huntress isn't hindered by distance, then you also have to accept that a good Deathslinger won't put himself in a situation where he's unable to reel in the survivor.

Can you point me to a streamer or youtuber that does main him and can demonstrate other things he's capable of that The Huntress doesn't do already? I know their are probably non-streamers/youtubers but there is no records there.
How about the fact that he literally pulls the survivors to him, as opposed to giving them a speed boost while they're already quite far away?
-
Primarily, the fact that their power is punishing to use regardless of how well you use it, but can't put survivors in the dying state.
-
Happened about 30 minutes ago, I was playing Oni:
I hooked a David in the basement, which was directly in front one of the gates. They 99%'d the other one and managed a save when I went to check on it. I downed David again and put him on a hook somewhat near the gate.
Two survivors were left at this point. One had been trying to bodyblock, so I managed to get her down and hooked her directly in front of the 99%'d gate. Note that instead of opening the gate, the other survivor was still waiting around. He unhooked her, but eventually they both went down and died (one sacrificed, one bled out because there were no hooks nearby).
I informed them that they should open the gate next time, because if they had, they would've both escaped (hell, maybe even David would've escaped too). They weren't as salty as I expected, but there was the usual "tunneler", "camper" drivel.
I was rank 15 with two yellow perks. The survivors who definitely could've made it out were ranks 1 and 2 with four purple perks.

~4% chance that this will happen (1 successful attempt to escape out of 15). Also roughly the same chance that you'll self-unhook on any given try. Probability is funny like that.
