And how does "Scott" know who the killer is? Does he work for BHVR? Does he accompany the development of the game from the inside? What's his source?

devs said camping is valid so what? they gave up this issue? are they the ultimate unquestionable demigods? I wont buy this valid method of game hostage
and no, there is no difference if you got sacrified hold in a corner hostage due to end game mechanism VS in the hook with bubba breathing to your face
imma do a test right now facecamping til die on 1st hook a surv and ask in the end chat if that was keeping the him/her hostage or not
Yes, the developers who created the game and decide on its rules are the ultimate unquestionable demigods. Do you actually believe your opinion on what the rules should be outranks the opinions of those who literally make the rules?

I hate this as well LMAO... It's almost as bad as realizing you have to go to the bathroom the second that the trial starts.

Pro tip: select the Hillbilly and then immediately swap to your chosen killer. The Entity will be confused and give you something other than farm maps (because they're the best for the Hillbilly).

I disagree that this is any problem. It will be a rare occasion, 4 man SWFs (and this will most likely be the only group running this build) are rare, and people dedicating to a Kobe Build will be even more rare and, just an assumption on my side, not the sweatiest people and most likely a bunch of friends who just want to have fun.
So I dont see an issue if there is a Build which differs from the Meta (and is not even new, this is used from time to time since at least a year).
I literally just posted the mathematics, but OK.

If the game wasnt meant to have increased FOV, then why is it a perk, and why is that perk bad. People dont run shadowborn because it gives them an advantage they run it because it's a comfort perk. Also not sure what you meant in your first point.
You know very well he meant the game wasn't meant to have increased FOV as a setting, which is what you're requesting.

Did I say that I disagree with the raw numbers? No.
But Slippery Meat and Up the Ante are some of the worst Perks. Using those Perks for a whole Build is not a big problem. Basically anything other than DS/BT/UB + Exhaustion Perk (or Iron Will/Adrenaline instead of one of those 4) is nice to see.
No, but neither did you say anything of substance. You came here, ridiculed people for pointing out potential problems at the extremes of this build and then implied I was biased toward killers (even though I've been playing SWF with a friend and only played two killer trials these past few days I've been back).
You also didn't address the actual argument, which is that, combined, they provide too big of an advantage, as proven by the mathematics. If you agree with the numbers, then you agree with the argument, since the argument only has to do with the numbers.

Nah, dont worry, someone like you will have a problem with everything Survivors bring. I expect something like that from you.
That being said, dedicating a whole Build on Kobes is more of a Meme Build than anything else. Because each Perk Slot dedicated to Kobeing is one Perk Slot less for actual Meta Perks.
Personal attacks aside, which part of the mathematics do you disagree with?

That's the challenge. You have to use either Judith's Tombstone or the Tombstone Piece to complete the achievement, which is why it's considered one of the hardest in the game.
I was asked to correct you by a lazy forum member/friend in that the Tombstone Piece cannot be used to complete the achievement, due to it putting you back at EW II after every kill, and there's not enough Evil to reach EW III 4 times.

I understand that. But imagine trying to tell a new player, who doesn't know all the totem spawns to find all the totems. Maps like Lerys and the saloon could prove a bit much for those players.
I don't think a totem counter would prove to be much of problem since swf teams usually break every totem and solo players usually don't make it to end game.
I also want to deter killers from using noed since I feel it makes them a worse player. There's a reason every really good killer doesn't use it unless they have a build for it.
New players will learn. Should we completely simplify the game so there's no learning curve whatsoever?
Good killers use whatever the ######### they want. Don't try to shame people for using perks you claim not to have a problem with.
-
I just did the math. Assuming the luck is additive and everyone's alive, that's a 9% boost per survivor (36% total) from Up The Ante, with a 4% base chance to escape the hook. That comes down to 40% for everyone.
Unhooks follow a binomial distribution, so the chance that you'll succeed at least once over 6 attempts (3 base + Slippery Meat) is around 95,33%.
If you put in Vigo's Jar of Salty Lips x4, that's another 12%, which gives you around 98,78% chance to self-unhook - a virtual guarantee.
Luck stacking is utterly broken.

I think you don't realise that I have no problems with noed. I'm one of the few that doesn't think it needs a nerf. I just know that a lot of people do. I reiterate noed doesn't affect me and doesn't bother me.
I'm just trying to fix two problems in 1. Early game slowdown and people who do hate noed will see it less.
People who hate NOED are often those who refuse to counter it. I don't consider that to be a "real problem", dismissive as it may seem. People are responsible for their own actions. They can't both demand to be exempt from using the counter and the consequences of not countering.

Even if it works, whats the point of it? Theres no fun in gen rushing and having the matches be over in 5 minutes. On top of that you wont be getting much unhook altruism points if all of you are unhooking yourselves. Seems like a very boring way to play tbh.
One person's boring is another person's fun.

Hey Orion are we having parallel conversations over multiple discussions? Lol
Noed doesn't bother me since I play swf and we know roughly if every totem is destroyed or not. However a solo team doesn't have that info so I think they would benefit with a totem counter.
Also the perk idea would give these noed users who complain that they need to run noed a reason not too. It would give a new proper objective to do before doing gens. This would also encourage teams to run more perks like small game.
Listen, on the rare occasions I played solo, I always broke the totems. Guess what? No NOED. I reiterate my previous point: if you "know" the killer has NOED and don't take any steps to prevent it, that's on you. Risk assessment, people. Is the risk of getting hit with NOED worth the time saved by not making those totems explode in your face whenever you find them?
-
@CashelP14 said:

Pennywise wouldn't fit the tweet either. The tweet is a red herring I think. Pennywise is the chapter the developers wanted for a long time and I think it's a license that everyone knows.
I remember around the Stranger Things chapter the team followed then unfollowed Stephen King which seemed like a red herring. However from ScottJund we know they work on at least 3 killers at once. So since then we've had Oni, then Deathslinger, so now I think it would be the right time that Pennywise would be ready.
The only thing that makes me think Candyman is the fact a new movie was set to release.
Well, here's hoping it's not another clown. The first one still left a bitter taste in my mouth... although that could just be the fingers.
-
@CashelP14 said:
They shouldn't nerf noed but indirectly nerf it. The game should have a totem counter and they should add a perk that makes less people run it.
This perk was my idea to lessen the usage of noed.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/397/8VFA08TPRHXW.jpg
Killers will need to choose between early game slowdown or late game instadowns.
See a totem, break a totem. NOED is already pathetically weak. If you "know" killers have NOED and don't counter it, that's on you. I make sure to rub those totems good until they explode.

That tweet is too on the nose. I don't think he would say that if it was Candyman. Also I don't think Candyman is a strong enough license to draw people in. I'm expecting someone bigger tbh like Pennywise or Alien.
Well, the last time (that I remember) that they tried to tweet out a hint, it had to do with a cup or some ######### like that, which nobody caught. So maybe it's on the nose on purpose, to make sure people get it this time. However, you didn't answer the second question: how would Pennywise fit with that tweet?

pig isnt really classic, they are from 2004, you dont even get a good glimpse of them until later in the series and its not even amanda, you see hoffmans pig actually doing stuff more.
the most iconic slashers are myers, ghostface, freddy, leatherface and jason, and you could kinda argue about chucky. candyman is popular and classic yes but not really iconic as they are, plus jason has gotten requested so much and devs openly said that they wanted jason in the game. but theres all the legal stuff which would make candyman more reasonable to add in, if there were no legal battles it would definitely be jason for chapter 16. though dont get me wrong i would love both in dbd especially if they got tony like bruce (but get his face right like steve, not all deformed like nancy)
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1264554#Comment_1264554
no, demogorgon is a recent killer from a popular show, not classic. your basically saying "fortnite is a classic game because it was trending"
So you're saying it's most likely Candyman?

They already did, several times. NOED used to be permanent once the last generator was repaired. Then it was brought down to 2 minutes. Then it became a Hex perk.

Except that's not true really. The fact just is you're meeting 4 people at once. The odds of one being an ######### are higher whereas with a killer you're meeting one at a time with a higher queue time. What you will find in reality is that the people who are toxic on one side tend to be the same people that do it on the other.
I'm meeting two survivors and one killer, actually, since I always play SWF. Still find overwhelmingly more toxic survivors than killers. That's been my experience.
-
If there were more killers, this wouldn't be a problem. The MMR is a band-aid solution because it won't magically place killers at the ranks they need to be to provide balanced lobbies.
-
@Predated said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1264806#Comment_1264806
If you're in a 4 man swf? Nope, they can already tell whats going on. Best you can do is be an extra set of eyes/ears when looking for the hatch or totems.
Besides, by the time you're in red ranks, you should be able to know all that while playing solo. Hearing something you would know anyway if you pay the slightest amount of attention 5 seconds earlier isnt really a mechanical advantage, let alone that losing a teammate is more mechanically disadvantageous for a team than it is having a spectator ghost for you being advantageous.
Basically:
4 survivors>>>>>>3 survivors+1 spectator
So if the killer breaks a pallet across the map from you, as a solo survivor without Alert or any other detection perks or line of sight to the killer, you magically know that the killer is headed in your direction? Please, do tell how you accomplish that minor miracle, help me improve my survivor game.
-
@Waffleyumboy said:

"Genrushing" is just the killer's way of blaming survivors for their mistakes. See what I did there?
Made a false analogy?
-
Of course. I mean, what possible mechanical advantage could one gain from knowing where the killer is and what they're doing at all times? Or knowing how many totems have been broken? Or the percentage of every gen around the map and where they're located? Truly, there's absolutely no way all this information that requires multiple perks if you're a solo player (or is downright impossible to get as a solo player) could benefit anyone.
-
@Waffleyumboy said:
Swf offers no mechanical advantage, and should also not offer any mechanical disadvantage as a form of compensation. Plus, discouraging friends from playing together would hurt the playerbase. Plus plus, slowing down 2 and 3 team swf hurts solo survivors too because they're in their team.
Sure, the fact that I got myself killed because I wasn't playing seriously and could then spectate everyone and report to my teammate what everyone was doing offers no mechanical advantage whatsoever. Neither does the fact that I could tell him when the killer was headed toward him thanks to Alert (or just literally seeing the killer and knowing where my teammate is by simply asking him where he is). The fact that he can do these things as well and keep me informed also offers no advantage whatsoever.
-
They come with awesome animations and require the killer to put in some effort. They're staying. Maybe we should have original moris back, which didn't require a single hook.

Actually someone can confirm that... The devs.
But understood, you don't that evidence yourself. Does anyone else have any sort of confirmation? Legitimate question, not trying to argue semantics.
The devs can't confirm it either. Maybe their company goes bankrupt overnight or all their hard drives fail. Nobody can see the future.
I'm mentioning this because you want confirmation of future events, which is metaphysical knowledge. Nobody knows. All we can conclude is that based on the last 4 years, there will be more chapters after this.

It was a joke lol, I only play with swf and don't solo queue, so usually I tell my friends first LOL, and honestly the killer, if they're spirit in red ranks, has a very high chance of killing us so idc honestly, it's unfun to me and I want to be able to avoid it.
The only reason I hate spirit so much is because all I see in red ranks are freddies, spirits, nurses and.. thats about it honestly- I just hate seeing the same killer over, and over, and over again.. You should be able to understand why..
Of course I don't actually DC, but sometimes I want to.
Sure. That's partly why I took an extended break from the game. You know you don't have to play it, right? There are other things you can play. Take a break, come back later when you're less tilted.

I'm willing to believe guys, but based on the text and wording in several instances I must ask, is there anyone who can confirm 100% that this isn't the last chapter? Was a roadmap given, did the devs expressly say there will be more chapters, or did something else prove this to be true?
I'm just saying 16 is a well even number, this game has a smash Bros. Roster of killers already. 20 isn't a bad number either, I just wan a little confirm, not a big one.
No, nobody can confirm that, just like nobody can confirm if the chapter will even be released. It's impossible to prove a negative. However, based on all available evidence from the past 4 years, Occam's razor says they just misspoke.

You're welcome to your opinion, as everyone is, but eliminating people's ability to play the game and tanking their rank while doing so is toxic. If survivors could use their combined force to tie up the Killer and taser the entity from helping them escape for an entire match so that they could just do gens and leave with no other effort, Killers would find this incredibly toxic. LOL rightfully so. There is a time and place for most play styles, but just ruining someone's match out of the gate is a toxic way to approach this game as Killer.
Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. Making you lose isn't toxic.

I mean I considered that, but that would be an absolutely strange way to phrase it. Why wouldn't he just say this "upcoming" chapter, or "next". I tend to put alot of emphasis on the word selection for a given context, so I assume most do, but I guess it could have been a slip - then again on these forums a few weeks ago, one of the headers read "if you ever had a question you wanted to ask the devs, now's your chance", and again, I don't see how they could go much further with creating new, viable killer interactions and gameplay.
But I'm willing to accept any evidence to the contrary!
They're French Canadian. English isn't their first language. It's a simple mistake, it's happened before.
