That’s not toxic, if you can piss off your opponent and get them tilted you have a big advantage, goes for any PvP game.
The only thing I’d consider “toxic” is sending hate mail and death threats after a match and false reporting people.
It’s a super overused term and needs to die.
"and provides no in-game advantage whatsoever"
It's one sentence, dude, come on. At least finish it.
-
Anything you do to intentionally piss off another player and provides no in-game advantage whatsoever.

Looping wasn't actually intended, and it's exploiting the fact survivor hitboxes are much more smaller then killers.
Orion could tell you more about that then I could.
Indeed, looping was not intended and was, at one point, called an exploit by the developers themselves. However, due to survivor outcry, it became a "legit strategy".
The issue comes primarily from the different accelerations relative to the max speed. Basically, killers take longer to get back to full speed when turning, whereas survivors can turn on a dime and barely lose any speed at all.
The devs could fix this by making both killers and survivors hit their top speed simultaneously (it's a simple equation, literally just have their accelerations be proportional to their top speeds), but I don't think they perceive it to be an issue.

Am I right in thinking you need specific add ons for the keys to open the hatch?
Nope. You just need a key (not the Broken Key, obviously - the reason why that one won't work is in the name), and keys can spawn in chests.

Killers can still slug the second last survivor and prevent the hatch from spawning. Even with EGC changes, it's still a very common killer behaviour actually.
The hatch will always spawn and open. It's no longer possible to prevent it.
As for slugging, well, survivors are now disconnecting to give the last one the hatch anyway because they don't want to adapt to slugging.

@LordGlint Except since Pigs and other "stealth" killers will know this, they will obviously use said abilities to counter those perks. Gonna kick a gen? Crouch then kick it. It doesn't take that long to crouch and you can pretty much crouch and kick the gen almost at the same time, and OoO will STILL be useless against any of these killers because it will be giving your location away for free while their location is hidden from you. Who would want a perk that would give your location away without giving you anything in return?
Oh and GhostFace will counter Alert pretty much 100% of the time unless he's hit someone or been knocked out of stealth. And usually in those situations he's in a chase anyways.
The perks already aren't amazing perks. They're somewhat useful, but not top tier perks or anything. This will push them down and people will pretty much run all the top tier perks all the time unless they're going with off meta builds(which probably still won't include aura reading).
No matter your arguments, stealth killers should be stealthy. Otherwise, what's the point?

@Saitamfed said:
Well, is a hard problem to fix because is not a "problem itself" but a bad behaviour problem. This is taking the player as a hostage in my opinion and should be punished.
Your opinion is not fact. Holding the game hostage means there's no way for the game to end unless one or more players disconnect. The OP's complaint, while annoying, isn't holding the game hostage.

This version I don't get. I'll slug the last one for the hatch points (With the general philosophy of: If you have a adrenaline, I guess you're free to go) but why leave them for the EGC timer? It's the same amount of points and a killer lobby takes half a century. At least try to find them and hook them. Saves everybody time.
Just FYI, some survivors will purposefully hide to spite the killer. We're talking about the scenario where the killer willfully slugs someone and just follows them around to make sure they don't get up.

yeah lol, i totally agree with that. Ok, i respect your opinion ^^, i will stick with that single scenario that i mentioned... "if there are still 5 gens left, tunnel should get punishment", not camping, since even camping doesn't mean anything, because 1 killer vs 3 survivors + 1 hooked = survivors win anyway, if they are organized.
If the killer hasn't hooked anyone, survivors should be punished for repairing generators.
Does that sound fair to you in any way? That's because it isn't. Neither side should be punished for playing efficiently.

earlier self care was a good perk but increasing time by 8 seconds, then adding a sloppy butcher, it was a murder for this perk in pure form and shadow buff to adrenaline even though she didn't get a clear buff, that's why now the killers complain so much about her, and as for future changes I have the impression that something big is being prepared that will shake the community again
Self-Care was only nerfed twice. Once when they reduced the healing speed, and a second time when they reduced the efficiency when used with a medkit. The healing nerf is something different altogether and has nothing to do with the perk - it worked the same way regardless.
As for healing, if you think 8 seconds is a lot (although, IIRC, it was just 2 seconds), then surely you think Vigil is OP, since it shaves off a little under 7 seconds from the exhaustion timer (assuming you're using a perk with a 40-second exhaustion timer).
-
I'm betting it'll either be something minor and irrelevant that completely misses the problem (like the Self-Care nerf), or something that's actually well-deserved and will cause everyone to freak out.

This is reserved for those toxic teabagging flash light clicking survivors.
Like Zixology, I never bring in flashlights (nor items of any kind, as a matter of fact), and I'm a stealth player. I also don't teabag. Yet I, too, have been slugged.

Oh, the survivor equivalent of monstrous shrine? Totally worth wasting a perk slot for 24 seconds of unrecoverable exhaustion instead of 30.
So 30 seconds is half the match now? Why are you trying to make this seem like a bigger deal than it is?
-
@indieeden7 said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/630577#Comment_630577
Killers go into matches knowing full well that their totem could be broken at any point, survivors however have no idea whether a killer will be running exhaustion add-ons or not.
Killers have no idea whether survivors will be breaking totems or not. NOED wouldn't activate as often as survivors make it sound if they broke the totems. It's a gamble both ways.

So almost all survivors should just have to deal with one of their perks being removed for half the game every match?
Isn't there a perk for that?
-
@indieeden7 said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/630524#Comment_630524
Yes but the thing is, they should be the same rarity as the perks they are cancelling out. You shouldn't be able to use exhaustion add-ons every match.
No, that's literally just doing a 1:1 comparison.
-
@indieeden7 said:
I would never DC against exhaustion add-ons but I sort of understand why they did. Brown add-ons shouldn't be able to completely stop someone's green/purple perk from being useful in a chase.
Killer stuff is supposed to be more powerful than survivor stuff. It's the nature of an asymmetrical game.

I miss old map offerings, wish they'd bring them back. I don't like using new offerings because I feel like I'm just throwing away bloodpoints.
The old map offerings didn't guarantee you'd get your money's worth. The new ones do (assuming nobody else throws a different offering, and then it's a 50/50 split). How are the old ones better?
-
Yeah, this should have died down by now. The devs should probably do something to fix it.

And by being strong, it forced survivors to play smart. They left their teammates behind and GTFO'd, as they should do in many, many situations.

And keys have a counter: simply kill all survivors before they get to see hatch.
Mori is way stronger than a key though.
Not possible to do on purpose, since the hatch is guaranteed to spawn and open in every single trial, no matter what the killer does or how well they play. If the survivors don't get to see the hatch, it's only because they weren't lucky enough to run past it at some point.
-
Cleanse the totems and NOED won't be a problem.
Good talk.

Why bother then? You can't complete a gen in a locker, so move on. And if it's endgame, camp the locker until they step out, or let the entity get them. If someone locker spams me with DS, that's another form of taunting, so I'll camp them until they come out, letting the others escape just to fight toxicity with toxicity. It's just a game. I'm a killer, and there's no rule book. If I only get 1k, screw it. I'll do better next game. But that toxic survivor will be on here screaming about toxicity and be butt hurt for the next 3 days.
Move on, they leave the locker and complete a gen.
-
@malloymk said:
Mori's take less skill to use than keys. Not hard to down the first guy, proxi, tunnel, and down him again.
In order for more than 1 survivor to escape by key you actually have to get gens done.
That said, I would gladly remove keys if they also got rid of moris.
You, as in the key holder, don't have to do jack squat to make use of it. You can just wait for other people to repair gens.

Cough cough Haddonfield cough cough.
That's another thing. If some maps are determined to be extremely problematic, they should be disabled until reworked, period. We have more than enough maps that it won't make a difference.
-
Some maps are so bad for certain killers that the players might as well face a corner and go AFK. Those maps probably shouldn't be playable if you're using certain killers.
-
@Ghost077 said:
All killers, except Nurse, have one or another limitation of force. Spirit has a recharge, Huntress limit axes, etc. Billy can travel around the map without restrictions. Unlike others, he can use his power anytime. In combination with the ability to instantly give a dying state, this is a too much. It’s not very fair, special if map is some like as Rotten Fields. Thus, it deserves at least a small nerf, giving a recharge of the saw after some time.
That's kinda why they shouldn't be nerfed. Players don't want artificial skill ceilings that limit how good a character can be, they want their skill to actually matter.
-
Jake. He's the first one I played and I have all the perks I want on him.
-
You get punished because you failed at stealth and lost the chase. Besides, if all five gens have been repaired, what do you expect the killer to do? Let you go?
-
@scrantonmifflin said:
For example a killer brings in a eboni mori uses it twice 3rd survivor gets hooked 3 times 2 gens get done and the last survivor gets the hatch. Did the killer get rewarded with a pip or did they safety pip or de pip? Myself and other players could use that information to base future game strategies as killers and see if that was a rewarding way to play
You can also just do it yourself, ask those who have, or do the math. It's the same thing, except without the majority of players who've had bad trials also having to endure even more ######### from other players.
-
I confirmed with Doc, it's 100% fake and even the claim that it was ever on the wiki is fake.
-
@scrantonmifflin said:
I disagree I believe it could deter alot of the toxicity say for instance you have a player who camped the hooks or tunneled all game we'd be able to see that it doesnt pay off and it could deter a player from using that strategy in the future or you have a survivor who hid all game and didnt do the objectives sandbagged the hooks etc;. Besides its part of the score I have no shame in others seeing if I pipped or not its just information
And how would your knowledge of the other person's pips change anything? The other player is perfectly capable of seeing the result for themselves and drawing their own conclusions.

If their still powerful Howcome no one uses them?
Because they're used to things that allow them to 1v1 the killer. By comparison, this will look weak, but it's actually the other things that are too powerful.
-
This serves no purpose. It's none of your business who pipped or didn't pip. IMO they should even hide the BP.
-
Randoms are the guys who come to my 60% gen and turn it into a 20% gen while also drawing the killer to me, because why the ######### not? Sorry, but if I see an open gate, I'm taking it.

Doc would've told me about it. There's no such leak.

@Peanits said:
Context is important. Not healing from the start of the match is silly, you've got a good chance to get chased before all the generators are done, and when that happens, you'll want to have that extra hit to stall longer. When you get down to one or two generators, that's where it changes. Then pounding out the last generator or two and going for adrenaline makes sense.
When you've got all four survivors injured, that's a whopping 128 seconds worth of healing (half if you're healing each other, but that's absolutely no progress being done on generators in the meantime). There's a turning point where doing the generators becomes preferable over healing.
Y'all can debate all you want about whether that's good or bad, overpowered or not, but understanding where the actual complaints are coming from is important.
If you've got all four survivors injured, that's between 32 and 128 seconds of healing time, since they can heal simultaneously.
-
I checked the wiki and there was no such leak.

You seem to have a serious problem addressing actual posts and instead like to nitpick at people.
You're saying one hits aren't as threatening as they are but they're currently very effective in game.
I'm saying the devs think they're more threatening than they are. You're the one putting words in my mouth and then getting upset when I (rightfully) correct you.

Billy is incredibly loopable when using his ability, what?
I know you don't play this game very much but lets pretend billy chainsaws every loop.
95% of downs I've seen with a billy are when the killer is revving up 2cm away from the survivor.
I literally said "potentially". Look it up. You seem to have a serious problem with adverbs.

@Seanzu said:

Yea, those damn hillbillys and their chainsaws, no wonder he's an F tier killer.
I didn't say it was non-threatening, I said the devs perceived it to be more threatening than it actually is. Still, arguably the Hillbilly's chainsaw is only threatening because it allows him to move very quickly, thus potentially cutting down on loops.
-
@Seanzu said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/628718#Comment_628718
Why is exposed even a thing then if being one hit the entire match isn't threatening at all?
A very good question. My guess is, the devs perceive it to be more threatening than it actually is.

Sorry, the "small company" observation was directed at someone else who brought it up, not Peanits.
And, this is the kind of inefficient corporate bureaucracy that deserves criticism. I do not mean this as a personal attack against Peanits, and I know he is just the messenger.
It's actually more efficient to just have the user tell you what they're contacting you about than creating an entire department to sift through all the data. Having more departments to do the same work is less efficient, not more. Assuming, of course, that your users can use the form correctly.

Haha this is the dumbest-ass kind of bureaucracy there is. That's like IRS or Google Tech Support levels of dumb. You guys should have a process for internal routing. Don't victimize your users.
Also, Behaviour is not a small company. They employ more than 550 people. Get this scrappy underdog image out of your heads.
Peanits didn't say BHVR was small, nor did he say there wasn't room for improvement. He just explained what had gone wrong and why. Why are you attacking him for trying to do his job, which is provide information and help?
