  • That's not how that works, at all. By that logic, a Xenomorph wouldn't be classic because it's "from the future".

  • Nobody says killers are never toxic. What's (accurately) said is that survivors are disproportionately toxic.

I disregarded his opinion initially as I grit my teeth when I hear someone say "oh this won't happen because I've seen so". Especially when there's no proof.

Also with how trending Stranger Things was last year, I'd say Demogorgon fits into the notion of a classic killer.

"Classic" means from the 80s and 90s, not 2016.

Ayee, and Demogorgon, don't forget Demogorgon

on a legitimate note: I think between him, Jason and Pennywise they're the most requested killers. Although Scott Jund said it wouldn't be Candyman he also said he's not a reliable source. I personally believe there's a strong chance it could be Candyman but there's other possibilities.

Demogorgon isn't a classic killer, though. Also, unless Scott is a BHVR employee, he is indeed unreliable and I wouldn't take his opinion as the gospel truth.

Well we know it is a licensed killer next so if you think of a 'classic' killer that's been hugely requested by the dead by daylight community then it could be anyone.

Candyman is the last man standing from that group. We already have Leatherface, Myers, Freddy, Ghostface, and Pig. Candyman is the most requested classic killer we've never had. Candyman is the most likely candidate, IMO, and I'd love for Candyman to be added to the game. I've been requesting Candyman for years.

Now if you'll excuse me, there's a bee in my room...

  • It's unlikely you'll be banned for having connection issues. However, if this is a real concern for you, either contact your ISP and get them to fix it, or stop playing games your connection can't handle.

  • Most Mori animations are badass. It's a treat to be Mori'd and see them. They're already very rarely used, don't nerf them.

Not saying I want free unhooks at all. I'm saying I want to play the game as intended. The game is based on the killer downing and hooking people multiple times, whilst patrolling gens and stopping them from completing all gens and escaping. That is why the kill emblem system is based upon them doing all of these things, that is why people who camp get ######### points.

You're not playing properly when you camp. You know you're not but you're so desperate for a kill that you will play in such a manner. That play means the killer's score is #########. It means the survivors all get a ######### score as altruism is completely cut out of the game as are the majority of boldness points so everyone has a boring, pointless game. Especially the person who got camped from start to finish.

Make excuses as much as you like. Doing gens isn't a counter for camping, it's the only thing that can be done but the person who got camped had their game ruined. You're happy to ruin a game for someone else which says a lot about your character in general.

The developers say that camping is a valid strategy. Are you saying your opinion outranks theirs on what is or isn't intended?

  • @MPUK said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1264028#Comment_1264028

The issue isn't being eliminated from the game first. The issue is having a game ruined by a killer who is ######### at the game. Standing still isn't playing a game. It is done to ruin the game for someone. I don't care if I have died first when a killer has played properly. It is ######### when you have got hooked and had to stay there for a couple of minutes waiting to die because the killer doesn't move. It isn't a strategy it is an attempt to ruin a game for someone. It is boring. Then those same players cry for longer gen times.

The game isn't to eliminate someone from the game as soon as possible in a way that isn't even playing a game. You are stood still.

I've never camped and never tunnelled and I won't ever do it either. It is for ######### players who get off on ruining an experience for someone else.

How did you get on the hook if the killer was standing still and not playing properly?

  • @goatslinger said:

Been that way for a while. For the life of me I can not understand why any killer would use one of those offerings or why it is even a killer offering. Not because it doesn't work, but because I feel it is much more detrimental to the killer to have everyone spawn spread out across the map.

I'm not sure how bad the DCing is nowadays, but back in the day survivors would often DC for any secret offering (because "it's always a Mori, nobody uses any other secret offerings"), potentially making a Shroud of Separation essentially the same as an insta-kill.

  • Because I don't want to face rank 20 killers running a single perk.

  • As a survivor, don't be a dick to the killer. I sometimes give myself as a sacrifice to a killer who was obviously matched with people well outside their skill level, just so they get at least one kill. I also berate survivors who're toxic to killers in the chat.

  • I think he's bad because of one simple reason: his power is always punishing to use.

Doesn't matter if you hit all the survivors during a single Feral Frenzy, you will be stunned.

Doesn't matter if you deactivated the power early to conserve it, you will be stunned.

Doesn't matter if you missed a survivor who already had Deep Wound on purpose (to avoid cancelling your power), you will be stunned.

In short, it doesn't matter how well (or poorly) you do, you will be stunned, always, for trying to use your power, even in the way that it was intended to be used.

And for what? Running and vaulting faster, vaulting pallets, and never being able to down survivors? It's fun, but it's not worth being stunned every single time you use the power. Compare it to Nurse, who also stuns you when you use her power, but her power is actually threatening (when it's not bugged).

Being stunned every single time you use your power, with no way to avoid it no matter how well you play, and with so few benefits, is pretty bad, IMO. At the very least, I'd decrease the stun depending on how many survivors have been hit, possibly eliminate it altogether if the player somehow managed to hit all four survivors or if they cancelled the power early. Reward clever use of the power.

  • It's been that way since, oh, around June 14th, 2016.

  • Do you let go of the button, or does it just stop on its own? If the latter, it's a latency issue that's been there since I stopped playing last year.

  • I fix generators and escape. Works well and doesn't require any additional effort from the developers.

  • Survivors' rules for killers are usually some variation of "Don't play in any way that is efficient or takes advantage of our mistakes".

    Source: I'm a survivor main.

  • In my experience, anything that prevents survivors from unhooking is "camping". Doesn't matter if you're chasing someone running to the hook and someone else is unhooking or if you set a trap that gets triggered remotely, or even if you're on the opposite end of the map (but with a clear line of sight to the hook while playing the Hillbilly or other killers that can get there ASAP).

Just ignore it. I've seen killers being called "campers" because they defended a hook that survivors were very obviously approaching.

    Survivor complains: t0XiC

    Killer complains: Understandable

No bias present here folks, keep scrolling

There were no complaints from survivors, just insults toward killers who performed poorly and were quite obviously outmatched. That's why I said "comments" and not "complaints".

PS: I played exactly one trial as killer these past two days. The rest were as survivor in a duo SWF.

  • This is the second day I've been back to DbD and all the toxic comments I've seen so far came from survivors. Killers were usually just upset about the matchmaking.

Okay I understand that but nerfing survivors some more and giving them more M1 or LB isn't the solution, adding a secondary objective isn't the way to go either remember the last even with the flowers? Survivors got murdered.

    Time for a history lesson.

The reason survivors were dying during the Hallowed Blight event was not because of the secondary objective, but simply because they chose to. The devs made the event too grinding, and survivors quickly discovered that it was easier to just max out the vials, suicide/get killed, and move on to another trial. This led to a spike in deaths even among those who didn't do that (because they were outnumbered by the ones who did).

  • They are rare. The fact that people save them doesn't prove otherwise. If anything, people save them because they're rare, just like with literally everything else.

  • If you think wiggling is pointless, then please, stop wiggling. Killers everywhere will thank you for it.

I stopped wiggling for a little over a second because I thought the killer would take the nearby hook. Instead I wound up in the basement, with a fraction of a second of wiggle time remaining.

Wiggling is supposed to prevent the killer dragging you to the basement every single time. It's not supposed to guarantee you escape.

My attitude???? It's true a rank 20 survivors' chance of escaping at this point of the game is severely low, especially with that nice bbq n chili in the web and the trend on noed 1 and you telling me at rank 20 you can't down a survivor who probably has no clue what to do. I didn't even struggle that much when I first started.

You assumed it was rank 20, nobody said that. And then mocked the player like they're stupid, based on your assumption. Hell, nobody even said it was a killer player. As mentioned, survivors bully other survivors.

Getting bullied by rank 20 survivors is the saddest moment of any killers lives, how bad do you gotta be you getting builled by rank 20 survivors...... BABY SURVIVORS????!?? That's tough.

See, your attitude in this comment is what actually drives most people away.

A cheap answer, that's like you saying Nurse is too hard to play she needs a buff, and I go Pratice makes perfect, that's what KYF was made for. You would feel some type of way, I'm not playing KYF because there's not real benefit, you don't get real experience or points nobody wants to do that unless they want to fool around.

Get a better example, because that's what I tell people who say the Nurse is too hard to play. In fact, that's what everyone tells everyone else who says the Nurse is too hard to play. She's the killer with the highest skill floor and, appropriately, the highest skill ceiling.

You do get experience if you know what you're doing. Skill checks, for example, are the same no matter if you're playing KYF or not. You can practice those. The fact that you refuse to is not a balance problem, it's a "you" problem.

I would love to but as a Console player my game is optimize to be able to run at 30 fps so that skill check is slightly harder to hit.

Practice makes perfect. That's what KYF was made for.

Alright so how do I work on a gen with these big claws blocking me momentarily? Thrilling Temors including with Overcharge oohhhh man thats a extra 30 seconds by then my teammate is eating the claws and get taken up into the entity and rinse and repeat until survivors dead. There's many counters to gen rushing now, so you can camp and prevent generator progression.

Thrilling Tremors is active 16 seconds after picking someone up, only activates if you're not already on the generator (which you should be, always) and it takes 120 for anyone to die on the hook (assuming they don't suicide). As for Overcharge, get better at hitting skill checks.

Tell me what can we do about a killer sitting there sharpening his weapon at the hook, and let me guess what you're gonna say. WORK ON GENS. That was it wasn't it, guess what not everybody who plays this game has heart of ice.

Indeed, work on gens. The killer is supposed to be powerful enough to stop you from doing what you want to do. Otherwise, what would be the point?

  • As a survivor main who used to play both sides, I know how often survivors blame the killer when they should really blame themselves or each other.

Therefore, the first thing I look to when I'm analyzing a loss is myself. What mistakes did I make? How could I have done better?

The second thing is other survivors. How did those (usually useless) teammates ######### me over?

If neither of those explain the loss, I look to the killer. Did they derank?

If the killer doesn't seem to be the one to blame, I assume it was either me or the other survivors - which it probably was - and call it a day.

20k players loss makes a huge difference. May had 70,000 players at its peak, but this month it dropped down to 27,000 player that's not 20k man that's 50,000 player gone.

Free weekend, I'm guessing? I don't remember, but that's usually how it goes when people make arbitrary references to huge player spikes.

The game has always had 20k players during times of normalcy (not just after a new release, not during a free weekend, not during a big content patch).

  • @Atrushan88 said:

The reason it will run players away will be the new players themselves. New killers are the ones who camp the most, and as a survivor it is severely discouraging. Only people who will continue playing survivor will be people who have nerves of steel as always. Behavior needs to teach new players that camping isn't a very viable strategy via a tutorial or something, so that newer players are encouraged to look for others after their first hook. This would lead more people to enjoying survivor and the game actually keeping more players who are willing to play survivor through the pain of early ranks. I can't handle being a survivor in anything below green ranks, because it's riddled with campers(and even in green ranks it occurs, but it's much less often than yellow or brown).

Plot twist: the reason newbie killers continue to camp is because it does work, since survivors keep feeding them. Survivors are the ones who need to learn to fear the killer's presence instead of attempting near-impossible rescues.

Of course, survivors are always to blame for everything that ever went wrong in the game. Killers are perfect little angels who don't push players away. I just watch a new batch of survivors get dismantled by a new killer immediately game didn't even last 3 minutes shows a lot, but again this was Consoles a different set of skills.

Surprisingly, yes, survivors are to blame for more things that went wrong in the game than killers. That's because not only are they a bigger percentage of the playerbase, but they're also the ones who dictate how trials go, whether they admit it or not.

You know that suggestion that would make it so survivors wouldn't be sacrificed if the killer was camping and other variations that everyone always suggests like it's a big innovation, even though it's the most obvious thing ever? Survivors abused it, so nobody can have it.

Griefing? More often perpetrated by survivors (even to each other) than killers. I've had one killer purposefully trolling and that's it, whereas I've had multiple survivors blocking my path so I'm caught by the killer, actively cooperating with the killer, pointing out my location in a locker, and so on.

Survivors may not be to blame for literally everything, but more killers have quit the game due to survivor abuse (perpetuated by those who think that killers are to blame for "being too sensitive") than survivors have quit due to killers using legit tactics.

  • @StupidButTru said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/643764#Comment_643764

Momentarily, once those new players see how killers play they'll hit that quit uninstall and demand a refund before you can say Yatzhee.

Of course, killers are always to blame for everything that ever went wrong in the game. Survivors are perfect little angels who don't push players away.

  • Time for a history lesson.

Looping started out as an exploit. The devs themselves called it that. It's possible primarily due to two factors:

    • The difference in acceleration between survivors and killers relative to their top speed. Simply put, survivors reach their top speed much faster than killers, which is why they can turn on a dime without losing much speed.
    • The difference in hitboxes. This is a minor factor compared to the previous one, but still relevant.

However, due to survivor lobbying, it was hastily removed from the "exploit" category and into "game mechanic" category. Now it's the only thing many survivors know how to do, so the idea that it was once considered an exploit seems absurd to them.

  • Have killers and survivors accelerate proportionately to their top speeds so that they reach said top speeds simultaneously.

  • Survivor. In fact, I did just that quite a while ago.

  • Many players on both sides are frustrated by the game. I don't know why they keep playing when that's the case, but this is the result - anything and everything that doesn't go their way will piss them off.

  • @ImKateDenson said:

soo why the devs didn’t remove the quit menu in the game if it’s bannable to use it ??? The devs need to clarified what dc ban is, not the killer to decide :) And in this case the one who dc screwed only is bp soo if he decide to lose all it’s his own problem ^^ btw I’m not a fan of dc but lets be honest everyone have dc at least 1, the problem is how he dc, unplug should be ban but for me quit menu shouldn’t that’s my point .

fair counter did I say that it’s not fair ? I don’t think so, but if he slug for 4k that can happent, deal with it ?

It's there because, sometimes, you need to turn off the game and deal with a real-life emergency. It's not for you to use as a scapegoat.

  • @ImKateDenson said:

Maybe cuz you slug for the 4k ? Hook him and he wll not dc ? Crying of ppl dc when slugging is funny, and I think dcing need to be clarified, cuz unplugging internet for me is dc but if I press esc quit the game why should it be reportable if I just use something that it’s in the game ?

The killer is using a fair counter to the hatch that has been espoused by survivor mains for years, but all of a sudden it's a problem?

  • It doesn't. The only thing that needs to change is survivors' attitude toward totems.

  • No, it's just helping killers kill survivors who fail to complete their secondary objective.

  • If you want to use them in that manner, it's up to you. I don't see why other players should be forced to play in the self-gimping manner that you play. Now, were you to say that if used on the third hook, killers would get bonus BP, I'd support that.

You're not going to believe me, but the Collapse was at 15% when it automatically dropped to 0% to sacrifice me. I don't know why this happens, but do you think the developers added this into the game as a mercy system for survivors?

I think that's just the progress bar. It's never been smooth, it goes down in "ticks".

  • Max perks. Skins are useless. The grind will also be even worse the next time around.

  • Gen rush is a term that describes the massive difference in the time it takes for a killer to accomplish their objectives when playing efficiently vs. how long it takes survivors to do the same when playing efficiently. It's not the survivors' fault this is the case any more than it's the killers' fault that the Doctor can shock people; indeed, contrary to popular belief, most killers don't blame survivors for gen rush.

Furthermore, and, again, contrary to popular belief, it's not possible to beat a survivor team playing 100% efficiently, no matter how well you play. It's mathematical.
