God no. We don't need to hold M1 even longer.
-
On an unrelated note, I may have to remove NOED from the builds that use it. Three trials today survivors prevented its activation, two of them in a row. I'd only seen that once before and I thought it was a fluke. Maybe Rancor will be a better choice, since it also gives me a kill.

The simplest change moris need is to make them usable only once a survivor is on death hook, it really ain't that deep.
If you wanna make them useless, sure, that's a good way to go about it. If you want to make them fair, however, leave them the way they are and have survivors up their game for once.

Wish I could "lose" them and pepper them later, but I really just lose them 😂
Nice Story 🍹
Nah, I literally let them escape when they tried to go for that annoying structure. I just tried to make it look legit by looking around obstacles I knew they weren't near and turning around like I was confused about where they'd gone. I didn't do the "I'll pretend I can't see you so you stay hidden until I hit you" shtick.

No lmao it's easy to get it as killer. I can show you all my games of the last 7 days and there are more than 80% with 32k points and then I'll show you my surv games of the last 7 days. Only 2 times
Have you considered the possibility that you're just doing as much work as a survivor as you think?

Those who block everyone have noone left to play. I see no issue there.
Except newbies, whom they'll stomp with impunity.

Can you imagine any other offering working like this? No, thank you.

Camping and tunneling can be a strategic move if survivors are acting all toxic and cocky, gen rushing just isn't a thing as its the survivors' only objective what u are saying is like saying when the killer is hooking survivors ban them. And im not complaining about the 4 mins but about the fact that they introduce dc penalties in a game that allows players to play in a way that makes the game unplayable for others, things like hacking slugging all game until u bleed out, delaying the game for as long as u want (before end game collapse thank god that got introduced). Im just asking for a change/fix for both penalties and how they look at whats banable and now
Strategy is strategy, it has nothing to do with how toxic the other players are. "Tunneling" is the killer's version of gen rush (AKA: tunneling gens). If one is OK, so is the other.
Hacking is not a thing that's allowed. If you see a hacker, report them.
Yes, slugging is allowed. There are perks that take advantage of it and perks that counter it. Slugging also takes a maximum of 4 minutes, period. There is no way to extend the timer from either side.

So in your opinion i should run every perk just in case i get in that situation unbreakable is useless 99% of the time but game changing that 1% of games. Also i guess u enjoy getting slugged on the ground since its just smth I don't enjoy but everyone loves, just like how everyone loves moris and keys. Your point just makes no sense and if i as a player am not allowed to play the game cuz some kid had a bad day how is that my fault and why should i get penalized instead of the kid
I know I'm not the guy you asked, but in my opinion, perks should be used to either enhance your playstyle, or cover for your weaknesses. If the former, then your weaknesses can be exploited more easily. If the latter, then you have to rely on pure skill to enhance your playstyle. Make Your Choice.
-
Unbreakable fixes the slugging issue. Either that or learn to take the L and, indeed, go AFK. It's not fun, but it is fair. Also, it takes 4 minutes to bleed out, whereas the DC penalty starts at 5 minutes. Either way you're going AFK, so why not go AFK the shortest amount of time?
Bugs get fixed. Every game has them, yet they still have DC penalties.

No, good Survivors will do gens. That's why the Perk is good. If good Survivors healed, the Perk wouldn't be good.
Good survivors let themselves be hit by a perk that leaves them with two perks (Adrenaline being the third)? That's like saying good killers let themselves get stunned.
-
@Demogordon_Ramsay said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1338863#Comment_1338863
That implies that Survivors actually do heal. Usually they prefer to hump gens instead of each other's injured bodies. Plus, if you find them grouped up, you can hit multiple and down one, making things even harder. It's also a great way to give low-tier antiheal Killers like Legion and Plague a boost.
That's fair, it's good because survivors refuse to heal. My point is that good survivors who realize you have it will simply heal to avoid it.

@Mooks said:
It’s way easier for killers to get such a high score.
for survivors, the hardest category has to be survival (?) where you get 5K for escaping. Struggling gives a few points and maybe selfcaring? Oh and mending gives 100 points I think?

The only garbage thing here is that take. The amount of chases I've won because Blood Echo disabled Win Hard and/or Second Chance Burst (which for some reason is becoming meta again and I see it at least twice per game now) is too high to count.
Unless the survivors, y'know, heal. Takes 16 seconds, much shorter than it takes to down and hook someone and they can get back on gens in the mean time. Or does it activate if you injure them after the hook? Because if so, that would be better.
-
@Demogordon_Ramsay said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1338783#Comment_1338783
That's because the designers worded it poorly. What actually happens is when someone is hooked, all Survivors who are injured receive the following:
- A Hemmorhage debuff that lasts until they're healed
- A 45-second Exhaustion timer
If you aren't injured, you will not receive any debuffs. This is why this Perk is best on Killers like Legion, Plague, et cetera.
Source: Playing with and against the Perk.
God, that is just garbage.

We are a big, goofy, largely anonymous forum community united around a cartoon video game about a morbidly obese mental patient in an elephant suit who throws fart clouds at girls that dress like bunnies. Nevertheless, a healthy, functioning community is made up of individuals. The best of them have contributed many hours of their lives toward creating thoughtful discussion, helpful material, and an environment that would otherwise not be nearly as welcoming. You are constants here, and I daresay it makes this forum something of a nice online home, as it were.
This should be acknowledged, celebrated, and afforded a bit of proverbial credit in the bank, by all of us and by the eye in the sky at Behaviour (@MandyTalk @not_Queen @Peanits and all the rest). We would be worse off without community members like you guys. We trust you, and you've never let us down.
Thank you, but I'm too polarizing. The other guys are great, though.

I'm still unclear on what "Trusted" actually even means a long time ago I made a thread that was eventually marked as "Trusted" and I thought it had something to do with the amount of comments and then I saw people could actually be marked as "trusted" and I got kinda confused.
Tbh I never looked into the structure of how these forums actually worked, I just hopped on and moved over here because it seemed way more organized than the Steam forums. The fact you could create polls and poll options was really cool and novel to me at the time which was the main reason I moved over I think
The tags show up when a member with that tag comments in that thread.

The description makes it sound like the exhaustion only affects survivors that were injured when the perk activated and not the healthy survivors. I haven't played against it in so long so I can't remember how it worked in game. I'll leave the blood echo example up cause even if I'm wrong it still serves the point I'm trying to make.
Also I can't edit the OP, is it just me or is it the forums fault? I'm on mobile if it matters.
Y'know, you might be right. Now I'm not so sure either. Anyway, this is detracting from the overall point, so I'll just drop it.

If you're not having fun, I suggest you stop playing and find another game OR you can get gud. Doubt gens get done in about 3 minutes or so
It's definitely possible for all gens to be done in 3 minutes or less.

I enjoy the cool animations and the added tension that comes with knowing my next chase could be my last. The only issue I have with keys is that they can be found in chests.
Bottom line, there are people who genuinely enjoy these things, so don't project your lack of enjoyment onto everyone.

Thanks for your feedback! For your first point of you're talking about what I said in the first paragraph I meant old Ruin. I'll update the thread to make that clear. I do agree that Hex perks should be powerful as they have the condition of not being broken.
For Blood Echo though, I never knew that! I always taught that the survivors have to be injured to be exhausted. I'll look that up to double check.
This is what Blood Echo says:
When hooking a Survivor, all other injured Survivors suffer from the Haemorrhage Status Effect until healed and the Exhausted Status Effect for 45 seconds.
Note that "until healed" only applies to Haemorrhage, not Exhausted. They get Exhausted for 45 seconds.
-
It's very possible. Just requires you to do a lot of work. About the same amount of work as a killer, in fact.
-
I agree with the core principle of this thread, but there are some things you missed about some of the perks you mentioned.
- Ruin, like all Hex perks, is meant to be powerful until it is destroyed. In Ruin's particular case, the effect is negligible as long as survivors never let go of the generator, so putting more activation conditions would make it worse.
- Blood Echo only requires the survivors be injured to apply the Hemorrhage effect. They all get Exhaustion regardless.
Other than those two nitpicks, this is an excellent thread.

It's a Steam thing, not a DbD thing. Just disable comments from people who aren't on your friends list, problem solved.

I'd rather people be able to block/mute players, than have BHVR step in and control all the player relations through reporting and stuff. Someone's saying something you don't like in chat? Mute. Easy, and no hassle. They're intentionally griefing? Blocked. Of course it'll get abused, but there's always bad apples. People use reporting inappropriately rn anyway, it's no different.
The difference is that people abusing the report system now doesn't lead to real consequences for those they falsely reported. Self-moderation just leads to the worst of the worst having a free reign on your platform, it's happened every single time that was attempted.

By being active and really an overall postive person on the forums. Thats why you'll notice a pattern that all of the ppl with the "Trusted" status have ALOT of posts and are ready to support the forums in any way they can. Really good hold those guys up high for all the good they do.
I could probably be one too, but I curse too ######### much and employ a lot of sarcasm.

So what's to be done about bullies, griefers, and cheats? Because as it is now, nothing's being done and there's no way to avoid them. We're not even allowed to know who the killer is.
Griefers and cheaters get reported and banned. That's how you avoid them. And if you're going to say "reporting does nothing", rest assured you're part of the problem for spreading misinformation.
Not sure what you mean by "bullies", but assuming you mean players who abuse others of lower skill, this would make the problem worse as they would block everyone better than them.
You're not allowed to know who the killer is by design, because killers are supposed to have more information than survivors. They need that edge.

I still play L4D and I can tell you, it does. It literally tells you that you cannot join due to being blocked.
Interesting. Well, I still don't want something like that in DbD because of all the whining players complaining about others not following their made-up rules.
-
@Perelie said:

If you block someone on Steam, they can't join your match in L4D. I know this for a fact.
I keep reading that it doesn't work, although the threads are a few years old.

Can you say what it is?

@Perelie said:

I think you guys are ignoring the point. There needs to be a way to block or at least avoid toxic griefers. Also reporting people in-game should actually do something.
Well, I was going to open with "Other games have tried this and it led to high-skilled players being banned by all except newbies and it'd work the same way here", as usual, but you claimed other games had tried this and it worked, so I was curious to know which ones and see if I was wrong.
-
No, it doesn't. You can block someone on Steam, but that doesn't guarantee they won't show up in your games.

Which games do this where it works fine?

In case anyone wants to support asking the devs about their design choice: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/159557/trail-of-torment#latest
Seems many people are downvoting it, they probably don't want the devs to answer it.
-
To be fair, luck does look exactly like wallhacking from the survivors' perspective. There's no discernible difference between "killer came straight to me because of random chance" and "killer came straight to me because they're hacking".
-
They want questions directly about the new chapter. You know very well that asking about the grind and tangentially mentioning the new chapter doesn't mean the question is related to the new chapter. The same goes for graphical upgrades, which they showed, but didn't provide a solid date for.
Just because you feel your question is important doesn't mean it's not off-topic.
-
Yeah, if it wasn't about the Silent Hill chapter or the 4th anniversary, it's off-topic. Didn't you read the topics?
-
What was the question about? My guess is, it was off-topic.
-
Because I don't play on console.
-
If DS had the same design philosophy, it'd leave you Hindered while the killer was stunned. It's absurd, it's quite literally a stealth perk that shows everyone where you are.
-
@MegaWaffle I removed my Vote Up because you tricked me.
-
@DwightOP Serious question, how do you not know where the totems appear? Other than the ones that are just out in the middle of the cornfields, I find it extremely obvious where totems may spawn.
-
@Iceman Thank you, it's nice to be appreciated. My TED talk should come soon™.
@MegaWaffle He has the Time Stone, not the Reality Stone. Would've been better if you'd mentioned the possibility of him looking into parallel realities. 7/10 for effort.
