Same reason for why the add-ons are the way they are in the first place.
Sometimes it's hard to create add-ons for certain killer powers but they need to have 20 add-ons for the sake of bloodweb balance. So they just do a variety of ideas even if they are not practical in the slightest.
-
Check out The Texas Chainsaw Massacre game. It's coming out this year and there's 3 killers and 4 survivors.
-
I agree. Personally i don't really identify with any survivor in this game and so i don't have a survivor main, so i don't know who to commit bloodpoints to and so i don't feel like playing survivor as much.
-
I would rework Joey's mixtape so that it allows legion to miss an attack during feral frenzy without losing their power.

Yes it does. Every firework does.
But i think it is not that big of a deal as it is temporary.
Actually it's just the hooks for me. The generators, festive toolboxes and chinese firecrackers are fine, it's just the hook effect.
Yes, it is temporary, but i hope they will solve it for next year, stuff like this makes me not want to play during the event which completely defeats the point of an event.

He has Wesker's menu music, but default Blight chase music.
Thanks 👍

CAN CONFIRM - it completely changes blight’s sounds, and I’m almost positive there is a voice line that procs sometimes when you inject after a rush. I swear I heard him grunt “it hurts”.
Is there different menu or chase music?

I love when I see this about survivors but the number of times I've seen smooth brain hook campers talk crap is more than I can count. Why is it always killers that complain about toxic survivors? I can assure you by percentage there's likely more toxic killers than survivors.
People run into more toxic survivors than toxic killers because they run into more survivors in general, 4 of them 1 of killer. That's why

Should also note, I'm happy to answer questions on it!
Can we expect the gen progression info change in one of the hotfixes?
-
Only change listed is they're adding gen repair progress the survivor icon info which will come at later date
Where does it say that it will come at a later date? All i can see is that they decided to add it but no more details than that so i would assume it's a change from the PTB?
In any case, the change is great for Adrenaline, because you will be able to predict when it will go off.
-
The change seems pointless to me because Hangman's Trick still has a noose icon, pig still has the "Amanda's Secret" add-on and The Artist, in her lore, she attempts to jump off a bridge but then she gets saved by entity crows and in the end she was only saved so the entity could turn her into a killer. So when you think about it the dusty noose offering was never an anomaly in this game so it just makes me wonder if they are going to go on a retcon spree or if it's something they are just going to avoid including in the game in the future. I think this is where a lot of people don't understand the change.

Never lol
Not true, killer bots were confirmed in the november 2022 developer update.
They did not give a date though, just said that it was coming in the future.
-
I don't know about a clonk, but i have noticed that the ambient noise for treatment theatre seems to be playing on every map.

So to them it's selfish to play the way I intend in a PvP game what doesnt involve cheating, griefing etc, playing the game literally as intended by design. But it's not selfish them having massive entitlement attempting to control how I should be playing. Again huge question to them is why is it to me to ensure they have fun? what even is their fun? I don't know them, I play match with them for 5-10 mins then probably never see them for another month.
Again try to use this stance in any other game ever. Overwatch, imagine playing Genji and the enemy Supports complain that you are ruining their fun when it is literally Genji's job as a flanker to take out Supports. See how stupid it sounds?
I agree that it is very stupid, but unfortunately, it appears to be the most dominant mindset in the community.

But that just seems a fake and honestly quite a sad way to gain a viewership. Literally doing what others want you to do instead of just being yourself which is what Twitch is all about, being yourself or at least it should be.
I also don't have TTV in my name, at best my Twitch is in my full Steam profile description but at the same time so is everything else like paragraphs of text with hobbies, interests, personal stuff like tattoos etc then theres my socials so they would have dig into my profile just to even find it.
if you don't try put on a friendly appearance in game they are going to assume you are a toxic player. What does this even mean though? Again this just shows the controlling and self entitled side. Imagine playing any other PvP game and having this mindset you would be heavily mocked but for some reason in DBD its validated.
But that seems a fake and honestly quite a sad way to gain a viewership.
I agree i am just explaining that this is how i see it.
If you don't try put on a friendly appearance in game they are going to assume you are a toxic player.
I mean that in my experience if you play in a way that doesn't appear considerate of the survivor experience then people will assume you are selfish, or even that you are intentionally playing in a way to ruin people's fun even if you aren't playing the most powerful things or hitting people on hook or nodding or anything like that. Most players i hear from in this game don't seem to grasp the idea of playing the game as a completely independent experience and not paying mind to anyone else's.
In my opinion all of this means that advertising your twitch in game whilst also playing killer to win, is just going to attract toxic interaction. That's why i suggested removing twitch from your profile, but i am not a streamer, i don't have any streamer experience, this is all just my hypothesis as a player.
I find the situation pretty sad tbh, but it's always been like this with dbd and it's not gonna change anytime soon, so the only thing that you can do is decide an approach to it.
-
This is why most Fog Whisperers play nice. When being a twitch killer in the game you need to appeal to survivor players because you don't run into other killer players when playing killer. You'd have to get their respect so they follow you and you can start to grow. But then your audience is full of entitled survivor mains and pampering killer players. You can see by looking at most of the big streamers, that's what their audience is like.
Personally i would suggest that you don't advertise your TTV in game, and hope that people come across you by other means. I'm not a streamer but i know that this would be incredibly difficult to start growing but i think putting your ttv in game just invites other players to critique and judge you. People take this game personally so if you don't try put on a friendly appearance in game they are going to assume you are a toxic player.
I wish you more success with streaming dbd in the future.

I mean the cosmetics they are releasing are just a lead-up to the actual event which is on the 24th.
Also Im kind of just hoping they re-release that Year of the Rat Nea shirt since it's one of the few things Im missing from the Lunar New Year event.
Year of the Rat nea shirt will be available through a promo code on January 23rd, so keep an eye on dbd twitter on that day : D
-
The patch is coming on January 24th, that's when the lunar event is starting and the game has to update to add the new cosmetics.
-
I think there is too much content to learn and the progression and monetisation is too demanding. It's not the kind of game where you can invite someone to play and they'll get the hang of it quickly, it will probably take them multiple months and hundreds of hours of playtime to get to the level of an intermediate player. That is, if they decide they like the game enough to spend money on it AND have lots of time to play it.
-
I've seen new cheats too. There used to be cheats were survivors could instantly power generators but now there is a cheat where a survivor can instantly activate endgame collapse and power the gates.

I mean it is probably the most obnoxious killer perk besides maybe Eruption.
I think it's a fair perk against med kits and commodious toolboxes. Against other items not so much
-
Good post, i don't understand why everyone here is so salty, that's dbd community for you i guess.
-
10 of the event items
-
STBFL never worked on blink attacks, but it did give tokens. There was a strategy where as nurse you could play normally and then when you have 8 tokens, start camping, hit the unhooker without blinking and then immediately blink to them, this strat will be harder now because you won't be able to get tokens from blink attacks.
-
I think it's unreasonable to complain about this. They are just doing the most logicial thing to get the most money, feng min is the most popular character, therefore her cosmetics will interest the most people which will mean they will make the most sales.
Making regular cosmetics for a character like adam makes no sense, adam is very unpopular, in fact they'd probably lose out on money making cosmetics for these kinds of characters.
I just think it's very unrealistic to expect bhvr to make even amount of cosmetics for all 64 characters and counting
-
This is still an issue
-
Yes, i think that the common dbd videos on youtube give players unrealistic expectations of how matches should go and how other players should act, and then when their experience goes differently they get angry and take it out on the players.
Just social media being social media really.
-
Then seconds after hitting EW2 he entered EW3 and the only addons he was running was the one that increased the EW gain from stalking the Obsession by 40% and I think the Mirror Shard.
This is feasible. Without duration add-ons you can tier up very fast.
-
It is a very frustrating perk but at the same time gen speed feel way too fast right now without eruption. The game is in a state where killers can make the game unwinnable in certain 3 gen scenarios but in many matches it also feels like the only way to win. With the survivor activity hud coming this next update, gens will be even more efficient so this 3 gen meta will be more prominent.
If i were the devs right now i would have no idea what to do, every solution seems like it would just create more problems.
-
Whenever i play demo i find his portals to be way too underwhelming, take too long to setup, the travel time is too long and they can be removed way too fast even with add-ons. Just not a killer that i feel is particularly impactful.
-
Been happening to me as well.
-
Can i interest you in Compound Thirty Three

very valid points but here’s my issue right, I’ve hit red rank as killer multiple times but ever since they revamped the skill based matchmaking it seems almost impossible for me to chill and play killer. Also I do have to say I was pretty heated when making the original post as I had just went against a bully squad who trash talked me at the end even though they all escaped xD but I do watch allot of dbd vids in my spare time specifically truetalent, jrm, Demi, noob3, and ohtofu but yeah either I’ve gotten worse at the game or skill based matchmaking has just messed up my fun times
That's what skill based matchmaking does in every game sadly. It demands that you play your best every match if you want to win, it is exhausting. But it is widespread in online games because it makes more money, if people pick up a game and have good success with it they will be more likely to stick with it, compared to picking up a game and getting obliterated by veterans.
Killer just is what it is really, you have to really enjoy playing killers to make up for the torment that the game and the community will put you through.
-
Just a repeat of the last anniversary stream really. Announcement of more chapters coming, roadmap of features we can expect for the 2nd half of 2023, and other cool surprises like the A.O.T collection.
I don't really know what i want to see in this game tbh, i just hope the devs can keep going for as long as they want to.
-
Nah i bet if it was it would have been revealed yesterday, on friday the 13th january 2023
-
I gave up going for 100% after they added outbreak breakout. It's just way too demanding.
-
Playing bubba and the survivor drops the pallet on the wrong side, so i chainsaw the survivor and then immediately break the pallet. Instant down + pallet break, so satisfying.
-
The nerf from 5 seconds to 3 seconds was actually a belated promise. Once upon a time DS in 2.6.0 was reduced to 3 seconds but at the same time enduring reduced the stun of this so enduring just made it useless. Then in 2.6.3 they increased the stun duration to 5 seconds but said if they nerf enduring then ds will go back to 3 seconds. In 3.0.0 enduring got nerfed to no longer affect perk stuns but DS was still 5 seconds. and it was that way until 6.1.0.
-
I don't think the game is dying at all. I think people were disappointed with Forged in Fog chapter but that's it.

Whats the point of the map then?
Personnal opinion : I don't like seeing "nothing"
Just to have a different layout. I do admit not having a main building does make the map less memorable though
-
Why does a map need a main building?
-
This happens on steam too, appearing invisible will still show you as online in the game. The game just does not support that feature i suppose.
I am a bit concerned how letting your console friends know when you are playing dbd put you at risk of being terrorized though... i mean only your friends on the platform and dbd friends can see that. If it's such a risk you could just remove them all?
-
There is no official, factual answer for why dbd lost the stranger things license. All the answers you see on the internet are rumour and speculation.
As for if it will come back is also another question that has no concrete answer. My guess is probably not, considering they did a huge sale on all of the content, bringing back the license probably wouldn't get them that much more money.
-
I would not recommend dbd switch to "casually play in bed"
The game looks extremely dark because they had to remove like, most of the lighting for performance. The survivors look very bad and playing killer is just extremely clunky and frustrating. Also the game crashes frequently, usually after a few matches. If DBD switch was my only option i would still play it but whenever i am away from my PC and have my switch playing dbd on the switch just doesn't really interest me because i have no progression and it's just not very smooth.
-
Only if the perks are actually well designed though. There are plenty of generic perks that are bad. And considering the perks that have been coming out with survivors have been bad for a while now and the killer perks are just more and more gen perks i think they are running out of ideas for perks that are strong but not objective focused
-
For new players i recommend The Legion or The Doctor. Both killer powers put pressure on survivors and reveals their locations.
-
Nope. You can't buy them through the store anymore and codes for the outfits were only ever issued by BHVR, and if i recall correctly they expired very quickly like in 1 or 2 days so i doubt any of those exist anymore.
