  • I've always thought this idea to be wishful thinking to be honest.

People tunnel and camp because they are safe ways to win.

People want safe ways to win because this community is very competitive and some players are very disrespectful to the other side when they lose. People do not want that.

BBQ was a great incentive to not tunnel because 100% bloodpoints is worth a lot more than a meaningless victory even if it means disrespect and DS existed which was a significant risk to tunnelling anyways. Honestly i find it hard to believe that both of these great things are no longer in the game.

I highly doubt this patch is going to make people change their approach.

  • I am having similar experience. Seems like often i turn the corner as killer and i can see a survivor in the distance

  • Could easily be 200% speed.

I agree with this also i think it would be alright with it's 6 second duration restored. I really don't think it would be unbalanced because it can't possibly be used in a chase. It'd be a lot more fun and feel more impactful.

  • He is frustrating to play. Can't surprise anyone in locker because they're all locked, and/or locker placement is bad or you are on grim pantry where there is barely any.

Remnant is really annoying too. Because of latency the time it takes to actually teleport back is not consistent so it doesn't feel like a smooth ability. And survivors can mindgame it out anyways and dead hard.

Nightfall i think is hard to make use of because you can't make it trigger when you need it to. Also the whole darkness thing is ultimately ineffective in this game, where survivors can spend the entire duration in the same spot repairing a generator.

This killer felt like the greatest thing when it came out but overtime the novelty wore off.

I would rather play wraith or nightmare who are much more practical in my opinion.

Wanting to be able to use your power for longer and have a shorter cooldown isn’t asking for a “buff”.

still, i would like to see short bursting resulting in a longer cooldown to punish bad uses e.g ( spamming it, short bursting excessively which is really boring omg ) of Spirit’s power and longer phases incurring a shorter cooldown which would be better and reward good and efficient use of Spirit’s power.

Dude. If that's not a buff then i don't know what is. Power duration and cooldown are limitations for game balance and if you change them then game balance is also affected.

  • I think the perk is not healthy, since it's the only perk that benefits from having no totems on the map, so it encourages you to invest a lot of time to have a low chance of countering something, it's usually not worth it that's why people don't do it.

But unfortunately devs said that they like this aspect. So it's probably not going to be changed.

  • They shouldn't do a dbd 2.

Overwatch 2 was not a good idea. They had a plan that didn't work out and now it's been salvaged into something that is unwelcoming to it's original players whilst rinsing the new players of their money. I don't play it anymore and i played overwatch since launch day. The entire "sequel" was just a cover up for their new monetisation system.

DBD probably wouldn't survive without updates for years. It doesn't need a new monetisation system and they are already running low on perk and power ideas and a sequel isn't going to just give them inspiration out of nowhere. The game could use a lot of technical improvements but it wouldn't be worth keeping the game frozen for a long time.

  • Personally i don't see pharmacy, we'll make it or botany knowledge becoming used, i actually think circle of healing is still going to be used.

Pharmacy right now is very unreliable, you need to be injured to get the medkit and other survivors can loot chests before you. With this update emergency medkits are nerfed, it no longer has self healing buff.

We'll make it is not suitable in solo q because you can't co-ordinate unhooks.

Botany knowledge has the medkit efficiency penalty, this will mean that if you choose to run this perk then your medkit will only be able to heal yourself once.

Circle of healing will still be able to be used as it is now. When everyone is injured they can group up at the boon and reset. Overzealous could be used as well with it because of it's buff.

I also think inner strength might see a comeback because now it is much faster relatively compared to other healing options.

So yeah i predict that the healing go-to's will be a Camping aid kit with double charge add-ons (because altruistic healing speed is not really appealing) and circle of healing with overzealous or inner strength.

  • Buy things that you like so they make more stuff that you like.

If you buy things you don't like they are going to keep making more stuff like that.

BHVR definitely aren't starved for money either, you see people with paid cosmetics everywhere.

  • They said they are hard at work at implementing it in the year 7 roadmap additions developer update. Personally i think it would be cool if they added it with the anniversary and make it part of the tome.

  • It really takes the unity out of community 😄

DBD community is more like a DBD Society

  • Dead Hard is the most fun exhaustion perk in the game that is stronger against more powerful killers while not being too oppressive against weaker ones

This is not really that true. Stronger killers like nurse and blight and spirit, they can just hit through dh and catch up quickly because they have a chase power. A killer like demogorgon can't even use shred against injured survivors because they will have enough time to react.

Yes DH sometimes is unfair but compared to it's old version it's in much better place and we all do not want the Sprint Burst meta.

I would rather have sprint burst meta. The difference between dead hard and other exhaustion perks is that dead hard triggers at the end of a chase. The rest usually trigger at the start or sometimes in the middle. There's also the micro-situations where killers have to hesitate because of the existence of the perk which buys survivors more time.

Pain Res-probably the most healthy gen regression perk in the game.

Pain res either triggers on every hook which can be completely oppressive and or annoying or it can trigger never because you never see a scourge hook. It's inconsistent but very annoying when it occurs, just like dead hard. The change limits it's potential whilst also encouraging you to get for first hook each survivor, it's more healthy now, just weaker.

I also disagree that pop was a healthy perk, it was OP. I like ruin though.

  • When it comes to the balance changes:

Healing changes are good but they may have gone too far, time will tell.

Gearhead will still not be used if it doesn't have an audio notification i think.

Overzealous buff is good, but none of the boon perks are worth running anymore i feel so this buff will probably not change it's usage much.

Pain res nerf is good, limits it's potential whilst having a bbq and chili like effect.

Dead Hard nerf is a healthy way to nerf in my opinion. I think it will probably still be used frequently but we'll see.

I don't use Call of Brine or Overcharge often but now i never will. I always thought overcharge was not great but now it doesn't appeal to me much at all. Call of brine nerf i think is too bad now, the surveillance aspect is forgettable and now the regression is too low i kinda feel like there should be a rework.

Circle of healing nerf was very much needed. Very bad designed perk that has lasted for way too long. Unfortunately though it just goes to show how much of a failed concept boon perks are. Shadow step is probably the only one worth considering anymore.

All of the killer updates are way too minor.

The lightburn removal is very much appreciated though. No more needing to lobby dodge as wraith or hag. Hag change sounds good but have little experience with her so im not interested.

I like this update but to me i think these perk updates should have came sooner. Game has felt in a volatile state since 6.1.0, it only now feels like this update might calm things down a bit.

In the future lets just hope nothing as broken as circle of healing gets dropped. But at the same time i want new perk balance to improve as well...

  • Nope. Been playing since resident evil so i know how bad the game can get technical wise but particularly they have been quite disappointing in many aspects.

  • I'm not toxic to other players, i have all messages blocked, i don't hit on hook and i always kill as fast as possible, i try to make the game as non-personal as possible, so i am considerate of that.

I don't play the community rulebooks though cause at that point the game stops being fun for me. If people are not having fun against me i suggest they just play a different game, because if they don't have fun against people who play the game as it is intended and without breaking any official rules the game is not for them, it's as simple as that.

  • I think wesker is severely overrated. He's clunky and buggy and none of his add-ons are particularly impressive. He's very map dependant too. I suggest trying him for yourself, he's not as consistent or as good as the community sentiment would have you believe.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

    Sadly not.

    Negative review is out.

That's real disappointing. Thanks for letting me know

  • This is unbelievable. Did they not even test the fix that they did...

  • I don't feel like trying her but virtually i bet she's worse. 45 seconds is not enough time to track a survivor down and get the pallet break off. Previously it's rare for multiple survivors to have claw traps so the haste is probably not good enough.

Eh, when a killer gets this many changes after PTB it's obvious the killer was never good to begin with so it's unlikely she is going to become good. Trickster is in the same boat.

  • I feel a similar way although i have about 2200 hours.

Personally i think the meta since 6.1.0 has become way too extreme. The meta felt much more tolerable and stable before that.

The extremity of the meta just makes people really frustrated and the playerbase is more vile to each other than ever before.

Devs are not doing enough to make the game feel like a safe place. DDoS issue is being discussed more and devs basically just copied a tweet from Nov. 2021. It's clear to me that they aren't actually making any progress on the issue.

The chapters have been unsatisfactory and the game is not growing in any meaningful way. New killers are underplayed and all of the new perks are always trash and the new maps are hated.

This game is just a completely miserable experience. The devs are apathetic and the players are desperate.

  • Well it's annoying at vaults as well, because you are forced into a situation where if you lunge they dead hard and if you don't lunge they vault. Also counters demo shred, wesker, and knight guard pretty hard.

Regardless of it's actual power level it's boring how overused it is and it's very frustrating to hit a survivor, they play the downed sound but they don't go down. You can't even lunge at an injured survivor just because of this 1 survivor perk out of 102. It's just ridiculous how much control it has over the game.

  • I'm wonder why you still even want to play this game after being ddos'd for simply winning.

  • For me it's about which killer is the least frustrating to play. I don't get joy playing any killer at the moment sadly.

  • Flashlight clicking removal

    Like:

    • she now gets free Haste, not just in chase, so she moves around faster
    • She still can have all the info she needs
    • Survivors being trapped makes them unable to hack drones so they either have to risk expose or wait for other survivors to disable them
    • So now she actually gains access to unhackable drones, by tunneling a survivor out of the game.

I am not sure, if she was nerfed in 3 gens. She might actually be buffed in that area. But i am not sure.

    • So now she actually gains access to unhackable drones, by tunneling a survivor out of the game.

But drones don't get returned to your inventory until the claw trap goes away. So if you put 3 drones and they all get hacked, you can only cover 1 generator until all those claw traps go away. She will get 6% haste and know where everyone is at that point but personally i feel like these buffs are not going to be super oppressive, i don't think the claw traps will last long enough to make chases end fast enough for sm to reliably hold down 3 gens.

I am so utterly not excited about this.. I want to be but.. ugh…

why did they have to choose TCM and not any other franchise? 🫠 or make it original but with TCM licensed stuff

What license would you want to see?

  • The appeal is that her power has no penalty for using it. You play m1 killer whilst your drones monitor areas and find survivors, sometimes you can just use a drone as anti-loop as well with two certain add-ons. You can also do stealth plays within the drone area too.

    1. No Audio Notification
    2. Distortion and Off The Record
    3. Aura perks on generator auras are hard to distinguish

Probably one of the worst executed perks.

  • That's good point. It could be hint then.

Although maybe this was a slip up and they will delete the tweet soon.

    Good catch

  • It's likely just because on the test build they use they have everything unlocked.

Thanks, i went to test it. And yep, they don't scream, but you still see their aura.

What is the point of this perk, screaming is already rare and now that we are receiving more screaming perks they also get free aura reading, this perk really can't do anything right.

    It's Doctor repellent

  • I like current freddy, he just needs more interesting add-ons.

Knight and Skull Merchant aren't prestiged, but neither are Deathslinger & Ghostface, so I'm confused because the perks of the first two are nowhere to be seen but I got Gearhead, I'm all ears & Thrilling tremors. Are the perks not supposed to appear at all on the bloodwebs before P1?

You need new characters that were released past july 2022 to be prestiged. When they reworked the progression system they made it so any teachables that you unlocked would be unlocked at tier 1 for every character to ensure that the update wouldn't cause players to lose anything.

Mindlessly chase different survivors and lose.

Pretty much. Recently played against a player who used boil over in badham basement. I had no choice but to slug them because i couldn't get them out because i was on controller and i went to their stream and they were saying all sorts of verbal abuse.

Basically, they were expecting me to keep trying to hook them and got mad that i didn't.

  • I think it's possible the game does not looks as good as it could because it's designed for switch and supposedly designed to be adapted to mobile as well.

  • I like to play legion too cause they are very fun, and have a good set of add-ons so it feels like i am getting good value out of the bp i spend on them.

I've never really been sure on a survivor main. I feel like the small difference between each of them actually makes it harder to choose than killer. But i do like Renato, and the lobby music is nice too so for now i like to play Renato.

  • Why no mikaela? that makes no sense at all. Surely this is some kind of misinformation or misunderstanding.

  • Because survivors could use it as a chase escape. They could get hit and then rush unhook and now the killer has to hold w to either the unhooked survivor or the unhooker. I think it wouldn't reduce tunnelling.

  • Expired Batteries, Corrupt Intervention and Jolt sounds like a good combo, though i haven't tried it yet.

Also combining Brutal Strength/Fire Up and Bamboozle/Superior Anatomy with Geographical Readout can make you faster in a loop with a drone.

She's an M1 killer so spirit fury and enduring can be fun, can also add hubris to it now with the knight's perks.

Also in an interview one of the devs said that information perks worked well with her so that's another thing to try.

  • Yes because even though smart players would have been able to use it well, it would encourage most players to just get other players killed. Overall it would have negatively affected the game.

  • I always enjoy playing with or going against endgame builds. Because survivors always get confident and underestimate the killer and then when noed pops and you see the gates get blocked the killer suddenly gets a bunch of control.

  • Yeah it can create lose-lose micro situations for a killer. For example there's situations where you could lunge to stop a survivor from vaulting but if you do they use dead hard. But you are not close enough for a quick attack. Either way they are getting away. Sometimes it seems better to just hit go through the 3rd health state.

  • It's definitely polished power/gameplay. Trickster looks extremely cool, and has the most lifelike voice acting for a killer. Yet he has a lower than average pick rate, because imo anyways his power is weak and frustrating.

I think the problem with tools of torment is that the teasers were very misleading. The audio teaser suggested some kind of technological contraption would be moving around but the drones don't move around. The supply crate teaser also does not even appear in the game. The killer design looks very basic and doesn't feel like a modern killer design for this game.

Her power is similar to knight and knight is infamous for being not great but completely oppressive in 3 gen scenarios.

That's why i think this chapter is getting hate. Personally i was very disappointed with this chapter on ptb.

But after ptb buffs i am hopeful that this killer will be a fun killer to play.

  • Nerf drones in lethality? They are not very dangerous at all. Just hack the drones, 10 seconds of lock on time is plenty time to hack them.

  • Game has felt the same to me since wesker chapter. And that's because it is. They haven't made any balance changes, no one cares for the new content in forged in fog and i think the same thing will happen with this upcoming chapter. Eruption is getting nerfed but that's it.
