Two words: Patrick Bateman.
All the gens would be done by the time he's returned those video tapes

He is simply not prioritised.
There's no financial incentive to work on him because no one can buy him anymore and no cosmetics are being made for him.
His pick rate is low and it's gonna continue to drop because only people that have played the game since novemeber 2021 even had a chance of buying him.
There's also the issue of if they do buff him, there won't be a lot of data to analyse the performance and also if people complain he is OP then people will accuse behaviour of favouring legacy players.

It doesn't work on Xbox.
It's only for PS and PC, I think.

Is Xbox the only excluded platform or is it all consoles?
Can confirm it works on Playstation 5, likely ps4 as well.

I mean i agree but this is only an issue on PC, doesn't happen for the entire console playerbase which is definitely a huge portion

Cause it's way easier to keep playing the same game and hope it gets better, or at least that you eventually start to feel like it's worth playing.
You can invest a lot of time and money into dbd, so it's designed to be played a lot and spent on a lot. This makes it harder to stop playing completely, especially if all the money you spent on DBD takes away from the money you would have spent on other games.
Also new games means you start learning something new which takes time and attention.
There is also nothing really like DBD. So if you are going to switch it's most likely gonna be a completely different game.
So yeah it's pretty hard to just uninstall this game and forget about it after becoming unsatisfied with it. It's okay to like the game but be unsatisfied with how it currently is. I do admit though there is a lot needless negativity alongside the criticism that is shared here. I am pretty negative about this game atm but that's because after the past two chapters i am starting to give up on it. But yeah it would be better for me to just take a break or play other games atm which i am trying to do.

Game is just getting worse. Healing changes recently have pushed the game further into camping, tunnelling and gen-rushing.
New content is badly designed.
If you didn't enjoy the game months ago you won't enjoy it now because it's the same if not worse.

Something-ism.

Personally i prefer Myers but i can see ghost face's advantages as well.
Myers in tier 2 has constant 16 meter terror radius. Ghost face has 0 with night shroud, but he can be broken out of it and it has a lengthy cooldown. He can also crouch.
Ghost face needs to stalk each survivor for a set amount of time, is reset on injury and cannot be completed if broken out of night shroud. But it is unlimited and has no stalk range. Myers drains all survivors from evil and can then exposed down any survivor of his choosing and there's little that survivor can do about it. But it's not unlimited, and he needs to be close to get real stalk progress.
When it comes to add-ons, ghost face has a lot of variety although none of his greens are very good. Myers has a some very strong add-ons like tombstones but also stacking stalk and longer duration, with maybe a mirror shard is good too.
Overall i think Ghost Face is harder to play but has more control, and Myers is easier to play and more reliable.

I am personally very dissatisfied with the game.
Ever since 6.1.0 the gameplay has become very unstable and extreme. I think DS nerf was the biggest blow to survivor experience, killers are not afraid to tunnel at all anymore. I also think the shift from ruin, undying tinkerer to eruption, jolt, pain res, deadlock corrupt was a lot worse because ruin and undying had counters. Eruption was awful for the longest time and we are still dealing with gen blocking and instant damage perks.
Even though the medkit changes were good design the game feels even worse, gens go extremely fast and tunnelling and camping is even easier and more incentivised with how some of the perks work and how having everyone injured makes camping easy.
Tools of torment chapter imo was complete trash, forged in fog i think was alright but it's still on the lower end of chapter rankings. Imo i think the new perks in every chapter is the main source of disappointment, new perks are never being used and it's because they have extremely safe numbers, probably because the devs can't be bothered to actually monitor these perks and come up balance changes in the case they have any sort of usefulness.
Devs have no empathy for the players. They only respond to the cheating situation when the situation is desperate and they come out saying they have no evidence of DDOS attacks. That could be true but they worded in such a non-caring way.
Overall this game is on a decline, in quality at least.
The devs are complacent.
Most players probably have sunk cost fallacy, addiction or are in denial
Streamer careers hinges on this game (just look at the people that jumped to VHS, they have no career anymore.)
and overall interest is fading - steam charts are dropping and dbd content is getting less views.
Game won't get better and people, for whatever reason, are not rejecting the games low quality DLC and updates.

You already unlocked the rift pass so there is nothing left to unlock.
If you were hoping to somehow get two lots of auric cells then no, you can't do that.
The prime code can be used if you already have the rift to get 10 free tier skips but it seems like this only works if you bought the pass with auric cells in this case.
-
It's valid because it's explicitly not against the game rules.
-
I think if the chapter is alien i don't think they will announce it tomorrow because everyone is expecting it and game companies like to be unpredictable.
-
Completely agree. I recently started playing dead by daylight on ps5 but the controller on killer experience is overall worse. So much so that i am back to playing the pc version. The FOV is too low to the point where survivors, especially when they are injured, can spin in front of you and you will lose them. Dead hard makes this more of a problem because you need to hesitate. Devs should really look into this because it seems to be it's a common frustration that has gone on for far too long.

"Has nothing to do with PTB"
It's literally changes that the devs want to make without factoring in feedback.
They think 24 second heals would be a good change.
They think hillbilly deserved nerfs.
Knight chapter was trash, 6.1.0 is still a bad update IMO
so with those two things and the dev update out i think that's enough reason to give the game a negative review.

The majority is from Asian players review-bombing DBD when the PTB severely nerfed healing, as the Asian DBD community is fond of self-healing.
Not true. Tools of torment DLC has been at most very negative reviews since it's launch. Also review bombing doesn't make scores invalid anyways. Something causes people to be unsatisfied with the game.

I mean all things considered, it was still a pretty decent chapter. Thalita and Renato from what I can tell are very well received and the Shelter Woods update was also pretty good
Skull Merchant was disappointing since her power definitely wasnt well thought out, but playing her in the intended way (as and against) is actually pretty fun. Being using your drones in all kinds of ways.
Im sorry but this chapter does not have overwhelmingly negative reviews on steam for no reason.
Yes the survivors visually are alright. But that's all there is to survivors aside from their perks.
Their perks and skull merchant's are terrible though. I haven't even seen any of them used in april, they have already been discarded.
Idk what you mean by "intended way" to play skull merchant. Her power is not very interactive you just place drones wherever you want to. Devs said she's a trap based killer but everyone since PTB did not agree with this. Even her latest challenge is just place drones near objectives. That's what she is, she's an objective defense killer. This makes matches playing as her and against her very abrasive.

@MrPsych said:
My only expectation is for the next killer to be better than Skull Merchant. That should hopefully be a low enough bar.
Tools of torment chapter was something the devs were "extremely proud of" so yeah that's gonna be tough
-
Yeah you're right. If the anniversary is going to be good then why have the last two chapters been terrible? They've obviously ran out of good ideas and possibly something has changed in the work place that is resulting in the downfall of the game. Oh well.
-
Delete. I wanted a drone killer but i am not satisfied with skull merchant at all.
-
They are actually going to nerf the doctor.
-
There is no exploitation, people are voicing their dissatisfaction on this live game based on recent developments.

I heard rumors that the boss of BHVR is a blight main. Maybe that’s why all killers add ons are moderate except for Blight?
That would mean the boss of BHVR actually plays DBD which i don't believe.

Games go too fast now. Survivors heal less which means chases are shorter. Gens are going faster so killers need to tunnel more. The only good gen perks anymore are Deadlock, Corrupt, Jolt and Pain Res which makes choosing perks even easier... they were trying to achieve the opposite no?
Circle of Healing is worse in solo queue, better in SWF.
Dead Hard has the same frustrations but it just happens less.
The reworked autohaven maps have serious 3 gen problem.
To make things even worse we have a skull merchant tome.
Game feels hollow to me at the moment and i feel like it's getting worse. Unless the anniversary stream is the biggest one they've done yet i think i will lose interest in this game.
-
I have no one to play it with ☹
-
It is enough to fully heal. I used a medkit and hit good skill checks only and it is enough. You are right in thinking the math does not add up though but there is probably some kind of coding that makes it so it still works.
-
Trickster usually has the worst averages in any kind of data you see.
Yes he can be very oppressive on some maps but in other maps, his power is useless and he is stuck to being a 4.4 killer with a 40 meter lullaby.
I also don't think the controller vs mouse difference is as big of a factor as people believe, i have tried both and controller has less recoil so i tend to perform about the same with both modes. It's very hard to be accurate on mouse because you have to constantly pull your mouse down and move left or right slightly.
-
Maybe next year.
-
Yes but hillbilly really needed skybilly patched first and then they needed to nerf him. Priorities
-
I agree, the resources need to make a legendary skin vs the price compared to the resources needed to make a killer vs the price makes no sense at all.
I cannot understand why people ask for more legendary skins, it's literally asking for their favourite character to be disgraced and for them to be ripped off.
-
I think Myers is probably my favourite killer. To play as i enjoy the small terror radius and on demand lethality when it's prepped and he has some very strong add-ons that make it feel worth the bloodpoints.
As survivor he one of the scariest killers to face although i do admit he either feels unfair or helpless unfortunately. But overall he's my favourite killer.
-
I think tombstone piece is pretty fair since a lot of complaints come from tunnelling and camping however this is because of hooks, tombstone piece allows you to enjoy a hook-free experience making the experience more enjoyable for everyone
-
- Because on some maps he basically has an uncounterable chase power, he is similar to old legion in this regard.
- Personally i hate playing as him because he is the most inconsistent and frustrating killer to play. Getting 5 hits and running out of knives is peak trickster frustration
- They are both ranged killers and huntress does the job better at medium range and long range, trickster is decent at close range.
- I don't know what new power i would give him but personally i kinda wish he was a melee based power. Or he is 4.6m/s at least.
-
Jake got nerfed more. Iron will nerf and the unexpected calm spirit nerf. and a slight saboteur buff
-
I doubt they've forgotten more about the dredge than they have The Twins, Deathslinger, Clown or Freddy.
-
Your game is bugged. That shouldn't appear each time you start the game.
-
Yes.
2 sec charge is already enough of a downside.
Tantrum is probably in the top 5 most frustrating things as killer. Whenever it happens i honestly feel like DC'ing because of how ridiculously punishing.
-
I don't lol. 2200+ hours and killer still makes me miserable and gives me anxiety. Haven't felt like playing lately. The social experience of this game is always going to be horrible. I bet it was fun when everyone was new but that obviously isn't gonna happen again. So yeah deal with it or play survivor or just don't play dbd.
-
a predictions based on previous long recurring patterns it will likely be either 18th,19th or 20th of april.

11 out of 10 games? Incredible.
Not only that but they are playing survivor in 2024.
- survi after rank reset: 2023.05.13 - 2024.05.12 Ash II.
-
I'll definitely be using it. Pain res + jolt is great combo for m1 down killers, it's near passive gen regression which feels great. So many damage generator bp as well.
-
I think the update is good but honestly what ruins it for is the fact that it's gonna be a skull merchant tome, aka the queen of 3 gen. Im disappointed they didn't change and now loads of people are gonna play her because of the challenges. Boring.
-
Allows you to kill your obsession after two hooks?
-
I don't think it's a tiny nerf, it's definitely impactful.
It can no longer be used in a first chase which is where it's most effective, killer needs a hook asap to start getting pressure.
And now the maximum amount of times it can be used is 2. Also executioner can just cage everyone and then it will never activate.
I still feel like it will be used and will be frustrating at times but it's definitely weaker, i would not completely disregard it. Maybe it needs more but we can wait and see.
-
Survivors are demons.
-
"DBD isn't two different games."
Well it's not literally two different games but i think both sides are very different experiences. Survivor is co-op survival horror and killer is tactical solo experience.
I personally think the reason why people get offended and start offending other people back is because a lot of people make their complaints about the game personal, or if they don't mean to then they make it look like it's personal. For example saying "Skull merchant players are so boring" is more likely to offend people than saying "Skull is merchant is boring". Also another one is that when people talk about preventing killers from doing unfun strategies i often see the word "punish" word used a lot which can feel unfair to a killer player.
Text is the only expression available on these internet setting so a lot is left to interpretation if you do not choose your words with precision.
-
She's only strong if you use drones to block 3 gen. She's too weak otherwise. Too slow to make use of surveillance. No anti-loop power to end chases fast... that kind of automatically makes her kinda bad it just goes to show m1 killers really need help in this game.

and what about buying ps4 nightmare edition? it contains stranger things dlc..but on web they say dozens of opposite stories......
- someone told that you can play it on ps4 but not in ps5
- someone told that dlc never apperared in menu on ps4
- others told that if contacted support they send a voucher that allowed to get on ps5
- others told no more voucher avaiable on ps5
please CLARIFY once for all
The first one is true, you have to play the ps4 version if you want the disc dlc on ps5.
I don't know about the 2nd one.
For the 3rd one, that promotion has expired, you cannot do this anymore.
I haven't seen a ps code for stranger things dlc so i think it's safe to assume it's completely impossible to get this chapter anymore on a ps5.
-
This likely won't happen because it would be a detterent to buying a cosmetic. If the buyer knew that their cosmetic wouldn't be guranteed to be visible to everyone it makes it less appealing.
