With the new player card feature coming out they should replace the prestige icon with a player icon.
Never understood why they made it public in the first place because they removed showing ranks in lobby a long time ago because of lobby dodging so i dunno why they repeat the same mistake.
-
Because 3% on a killer vs 3% for each survivor is a big difference
-
I thought something was off about this! Would agree it would be nice if they restored this feature.
-
Never played chess sorry
-
I feel the same way. It's very bad for the game overall to have the most popular killer be unplayable.
-
It's a fun killer but very impractical. I'm not competitive esport player but honestly if i can't get kills as a killer im not having fun.

@OrangeBear If this was how she was would you think the expose should still build-up, but slower? Or add a different effect and remove the exposed.
Idk really know the specifics of balance but i hoped she would have been more of a surveillance or tracking killer than an objective defence one, so probably no exposed.
-
Balance aside this would just make her more fun. I've never understood why people accepted that the drone killer has drones that can't move.

DC Tech wont work when they add disconnect bots in the summer
-
I'm gonna be honest it's ridiculous that they push an update live with their most popular killer being broken. Kinda makes me feel like they barely tested this update at all before pushing it live.
-
For me fun killers are ones with power that are straight to the point or if they have special elements they are automatic. DBD is all about time efficiency so you can't waste your time with killers like singularity setting up disable...able cameras just so you can tag them just so you can then teleport to them. Nurse can teleport without all that and she is one of the strongest killers.

Friday The 13th chapter makes the most sense.
Lawsuit has been resolved for some time now and Jason has always had a standing invitation in this game according to the game director.
In the anniversary stream the devs said next killers are licensed "with a big L". The next chapter has killer survivor and a map. Survivor is easily Tommy Jarvis and the map is easily Crystal Lake.
Friday the 13th the game recently announced it will be removed from stores at the end of the year and be shutdown completely a year after that.
So yeah it all points to friday the 13th at the moment, one of the most anticipated licenses in DBD ever.
Why might it not be f13?
Well devs like to surprise and f13 is looking pretty obvious right now so maybe they would know that and so it will actually be something else.
Maybe lawsuit has not been over for long enough for this chapter to be complete yet.
Maybe it's not even planned for whatever reason.
Either way f13 is probably the best educated guess you could have.

Can killers also get a portal to walk through to exit the trial if survivors brought a map offering?

Thanks for the suggestions here, we do have a few changes for the EMP's in particular ready for an upcoming hotfix. We'll be looking at reducing the EMP crates themselves to 4 per map, the generation time increased to 100s (currently 90s), and Survivors will also be slowed whilst charging an EMP by 10% as well as increasing the EMP charge time itself to 2.5s from the current 2s.
Duration of the pod disabling from an EMP will also be decreased down to 45s. There's also some score changes as we noticed Devious points were a little on the low side.
How do those sound?
Honest thoughts : these number tweaks won't change anything.
My biggest problem when playing as this killer is that the delay after teleporting is way too much. When it comes to overclock mode survivors will just pre-drop so that you can't get the spirit fury effect.
The survivors im going against are bored with dozens of emps ready at their disposal. This killer is a long ways off being worth playing in my opinion.
Thank you for listening to feedback.
additional note : the EMP range is the biggest problem with them imo. It's way too big you can destroy so much with just one use.
-
I had the same experience on ptb so i believe you ๐
Although i don't think the survivor perks are bad i actually think he's the best survivor since Mikaela.
Map yeah i agree was horrible on PTB as well
-
It's something you have to learn not to do. Because the early logic is that if you can't catch that survivor you won't be able to catch anyone but then you realise how map positioning makes a difference and also being able to tell what survivor is good at chase and not.
-
It's really unfortunate. I played the game and i liked it and thought it was pretty polished, but unfortunately i just didn't really have fun with it so i didn't play it.
It's a real shame all that work was for nothing though, game did not even leave early access or come to any consoles.
-
-
The killer should get points
-
Personally i just like to focus on objectives i find "interacting" with the killer to be pretty hopeless because they have counter to anything you could do to them. Wanna protect teammate, you'll just get slugged, wanna flashlight, they'll just spin their camera etc. Chases i find boring too because there is too much antiloop and hitboxes often feel unfair.
Cuz of all that i don't play survivor and i can't blame for survivors for only doing generators there's nothing else worth doing. I really don't get how people enjoy survivor, i am lucky because i couldn't play killer otherwise

Pain

And skull merchant can't win without it either.
Needs a total rework, making her useless in the meantime would be unsatisfactory.

They still have tons of DLC and skins.
Free base game might not be bad move, it would make it easier for players to bring their friends into DBD, or some people might just try it and see how it goes.
But hacking is still an issue.
I think the monetization is pretty bad right now, but this actually seems to be a hot take on the forums.
If they made the game f2p it would give them the leeway to make it worse. For example make it so completing the rift pass doesn't give you all the auric cells back. Events would no longer have free skins. Characters cost more iridescent shards.
Idk it's just something that i noticed with a few online games i used to play, once they became free to play i started to feel like the game had less value. They make small things like charms twitch drops that you have to watch hours for, new content gets way more social media drum up and teasing etc.
-
If game went free to play we probably wouldn't get stuff like event tome cosmetics and free charms. I believe paid online games are always usually better deals for the consumers.
-
Take a break bro and don't feel like you have to play the next killer if you don't want to
-
Positive posts get no attention though, or they just get negative comments explaining why OP shouldn't feel positive about the thing they are positive about. So i don't feel like they are worth posting.
I think internet is full of negativity for a reason. I think it's probably because being a pessimist feels safer than being an optimist because you have no risk of being disappointed.
-
Yeah as a killer player i think it's time to surrender ๐
-
It's worth every point!

I haven't kept up with this chapter at all whats not liked about the new map?
Way too much visual clutter. New killer was horrible to use on that map.
Not sure about the gameplay aspect... couldn't see ๐
-
No because the amount of time that this perk will actually shave off is the same but how fast it can be applied is delayed. Still a worthwhile perk.
-
I think you are right, you can't ever prove an asymmetrical game is balanced in the sense that both sides always have the same chance to win and it's all a matter of skill. When it comes to dbd skill is just one factor of many. When it comes to something like a 1v1 fighting game skill is one factor of a few. For this reason i do not treat DBD like an esport.
I believe blaming yourself on losses in this game all the time is simply self destructive.
But then again you could also make the argument that even in fair games people are limited by their genes.
Just treat yourself how you want to be treated i suppose.
-
It's because of map offerings, they dominate the rare item pool.
-
I liked it at first but i am already bored of it.
Killer power is interesting but it's frustrating to use on PTB. You would use camera and AI would just instantly hide behind the smallest thing that was super frustrating. Teleport chase power is interesting but it has a delay before you can act so it became kinda spammy. EMPs are also way too much.
It's voicelines were cool initially but honestly it rarely says anything interesting, except mori lines, which will be barely be seen.
I also don't find it's visual design that interesting it's just metal + flesh there is not much too it.
Killer perks are too conditional.
Survivor perks are very good possibly meta.
Map is cluttered and gameplay wise it's nothing new.

Streams are looking good.
But i am not sure about the lasting appeal. They have to make some different stuff or it will get a bit boring i think.
Like Evil Dead - looks good but has the same problem.
I agree that longevity of the game is a concern because they are limited in new content possibilities. Apparently though there is leaked content that suggests there is more original content coming other than Sissy and Johnny so that is exciting.

My worry is that there are too many killers compared to amount of survivors. I would like for example 2 killers vs 5 survivors then you can kill often more than two. But when it's 3vs4 you can only kill about one...
I liked how 3v4 worked. It's not like each killer has the same amount of kill potential, they all have different roles. Bubba is the one who usually got the most kills, followed by hitchkiker, cook was mostly a support character who double locked doors and could find survivors to call out to the other members.
Also there was a lot of variety in kill distribution, some of the exits close automatically which allows for the match to keep going even after one escapes.
I really do feel like the design they have is pretty solid. Also the game isn't necessarily balanced around 50% kills either, i don't think it was designed with anything like that in mind.

I was already excited, watching this past weekends technical test increased that excitement. August can't come soon enough, it's going to be a long summer waiting. So curious about the skill trees for each character and the characters/map they didn't include. Both sides look wicked fun.
Same ๐ I played the tech test for 24.4 hrs lol, i got addicted.
-
How nice ๐
Hope you will like the chapter and have a nice birthday.
-
It goes red when survivors disable the biopod with an EMP, when this happens you cannot attach to survivors so it's just a camera at that point
-
I dont have one
I actually think this community is really good at determining what is good and what is not.
-
I agree it would be nice to have the option of customising the auto bloodweb feature.
-
hilarious images used to block the names ๐
-
Unfortunately the killer just sounds like skull merchant 2.0, just like how dredge is to sadako. They are probably going to be good at holding because of the teleport ability. But the camera things sounds fun but yeah i feel like this is gonna be controversial...
Map looks really nice we'll have to see if it's good to play on.
Hopefully the perks are good and worth using but they usually aren't so i am not expecting much.

This thread isn't about the other things in the game that annoy you, don't come in here trying to derail it.
It's pretty much the same thing though.
-
Why is mending particularly a problem and healing modifiers and gen regression isn't? Personally i find all of them boring, but it's core to the game balance unfortunately.
-
I think a Danganronpa collection would be cool.
-
I think this would be great... we need more perks that are useful in a direct way.
-
Just friday the 13th imo.
-
The new meta isn't much different and the only new content that really popped off was wesker, very popular killer, but no new perks really became meta.
I don't think the game is going to feel much different for you but there's not much harm in trying anyways.
