  • Wouldn't this just make slugging a more viable strategy than hooking? Use knock out, maybe even play sadako with ring drawing add-on too.

  • Yeah i rarely use the gateway unless i have penetrating wire add-on, or i combine it during a chainhunt. He can feel pretty powerless most of the time.

  • I was underwhelmed with this chapter on the ptb but after thinking about it i like this chapter for what it is.

I've always wanted a drone/surveillance killer so i will definitely want to give skull merchant a chance.

I like the survivors too, they have a nice story, their lobby music is cool and i like their style.

the game was affordable. new content is regularly released. i'm not forced to purchase the content to continue playing the game. the game supports solo play (killers ; no joining guilds ; not required to be part of a team). the online is stable enough for me to play. i don't have to deal with voice chat constantly screaming at me for being bad or being "unfair". the game has crossplay and cross progression.

there are current generation games from big name studios that can't get these simple features right.

gta online still doesn't have crossplay and every generation the accounts get reset.

battle royale games and e-sports titles force you to be part of a team.

voice chat when it works is just children screaming or junkies blasting music in a trailer park.

content for some games like bf2042, halo infinite, and for honor takes half a year to even release anything.

eso and fallout 76 basically requires paid subscription (dare someone to play it for a month on base game edition without giving into the subscription model) doesn't have crossplay or cross progression.

fighting games get released all at the same time and the fgc picks 1 and forgets the rest so the online is pretty much dead for the others.

story games like atomic heart are rehashes of 20-30 year old ideas and just as buggy.

elden ring gets boring after a while.

db kakarot is removing the multiplayer card game feature and i've basically been destroying the story at breakneck speed. i'd prefer it last longer considering i threw $100 on the fire for all the dlc.

and... racing games and sports games are boring.

    🤷🏻‍♂️

for a team that has been working on the same game for 8 or so years... it'd be one thing if the game was an offline story game and they never fired anyone or people never got hired in, but considering the last 4 years and the fact that it's a multiplayer only game with a smallish company that has had to rapidly expand shrink and expand again...

"i think [they've] done pretty good so far"

I agree with all these points but i've always struggled to remember or articulate them 👍

This is the most recent update.

In summary, Cross-progression is confirmed to be coming to nintendo switch but there is no ETA due to some issues.

Cross-progression is available on EGS and Steam and was on Stadia but that is shut down now.

Cross-progression has not been confirmed for other platforms, as it stands right now, it's not happening until further notice.

Just took a perk which is for the next chapter to use it on "Background Player", because they realized that they didnt thought about tunneling.

This is the perfect example how you can see how much time the devs are investing in their perk-design: almost nothing. The same goes for their Killer-Ideas. Just watching a movie and thinking: hey, lets implement this in the game. We have 2023 and they keep bringing M1-Killers, now with various types of AI or Information without thinking that MAYBE the killer cant have any value out of it, because he has no map-pressure at all, because he is a slow 4,6m/s Killer. No Teleport, No Speed-Up to reach the information, nothing.

Here is an Idea, if u are so slow and/or desinterested: Just bring out 2 chapters instead of 4 and find other ways to get money. Cosmetics, Addon-Shop, Perk-Shop etc.

I realised this too. Chapters are supposedly in development for many months so it's a bit shocking how they stick with a perk design for that long and then less than 2 weeks before release it gets completely reworked.

  • Not even 5 seconds of extra gen time on 3 injured survivors... lol.

  • Probably because whenever they release stats and ask people not to draw conclusions from them, they do it anyways. It does not help the community in constructive discussions but it just helps people support whatever narrative they have of the game.

  • @False_Hydra said:

they literally said it would be changed.

my guess is that they'll simply change the numbers so that the total duration with it would be 62.5 seconds. so instead of 150% it would be ~39% increased battery. maybe they'll round it up to 40% increase.

No they didn't (not in the developer update anyways)

They said the overcharged add-on would be changed, but there is a different add-on that affects the battery life.

I agree with your prediction in that case though

  • The entity says : Looks like an ez 4k

  • Yeah remove the reason why this game ever got off the ground lol.

  • I recently played trickster and i noticed that this bug was fixed : D

I'm still sad it took so long for it to be noticed though. Just goes to show this killer is much less popular than his design would have you believe.

  • It wouldn't be ideal to have on consoles because it takes too long. The people that don't care to chat will be out before the people writing their messages are done writing them. It will just be pc players sending messages to console players and leaving before they respond.

And personally i think end game chat should not exist at all, it's a breeding ground for toxicity. After a potentially frustrating match endgame chat just gives people the opportunity to take it out on other players. When it's not there it makes people move on quickly which is healthier for the playerbase.

I recently moved to console and i've been enjoying the abcense of end game chat.

  • I was underwhelmed with this chapter initially but i've come around to like it.

This old nugget, killers deserve ez free kills, but survivors dont deserve ez free escapes. Tunnelling, camping and slugging is very ez this is why baby killers do it, do you see baby survivors looping the killer for multiple gens? lol. Killers still crying about dead hard even after nerf and entire basekit of killer buffed lol.

Don't quote my comment if you don't actually read it.

So being extremely toxic to me for no reason is an effective strategy? and I should just deal with it? Like you said Killers aren’t there for my entertainment and i’m not there for theirs so i’m gonna go into a game and do exactly what he did to me to other killers because “There are no rules”…

Like i already said it's not being "extremely toxic" to you, it's being efficient about achieving their objective. You look at it from a self-centred point of view.

    There is rules.

Reminder: EULA Please remember that Dead by Daylight’s end user license agreement which can be found on https://deadbydaylight.com/eula (the “EULA”) governs your participation and use of the game and its associated upgrades, patches, and updates and related services. In case of conflict between the EULA and this page, the…

And camping and tunnelling are explicitly not bannable offenses so yes, i am saying you should just deal with it.

  • Stop taking camping and tunnelling personally. They are simply efficient strategies. Killer players are not there to entertain you, they are there to play the game just like you are. So unless they are breaking the rules then it's a game issue and not a player issue.

  • The ones that get deleted

  • Balance aside it's boring how dead hard still has such a high usage rate. I think distortion is honestly a more powerful perk than dead hard but it still has a very low pick rate so it does not bother me much.

  • Terrible. You just can't shred injured survivors because of dead hard and his teleport is pretty weak, whenever you use teleport survivors just sneak away, and distortion counters leprose lichen add-on.

Feels very underwhelming and the fact he is exclusive character doesn't put much confidence that the devs care too much about the balance of it.

  • It's more effective to run no exhaustion perk if you are not running dead hard.

    • Wraith
    • Doctor
    • Huntress
    • Clown
    • Spirit
    • Plague
    • Oni
  • WASD works as inputs for these prompts.

  • Seems like everyone here forgot that Clown got kill switched because of infinite haste bug.

  • Also his ai gets totally messed up on the game map. I once had a scenario where my guard was chasing a survivor on a floor that they were not on.

  • I think they are probably going to be someone who is a shopkeeper, their specialty? Skulls. Or something like that.

  • @The_Krapper said:

Is the PTB today or something?

    Nope it's tomorrow. February 15th.

    • It applies oblivious with a non-directional lullaby. Oblivious prevents perks that charge via terror radius like stake out and distortion
    • Each sleeping survivor increases the charge speed of teleport.
    • Allows survivors to be affected by snares or dream pallets
    • If survivors want to wake up then they will need to suffer a penalty, from failing a skill check or spending time waking up or using an alarm clock.

It's not too bad of an affect for something that happens passively.

  • I agree that this is a major issue.

  • I think the thing you are trying to describe is the hatred of losing and not necessarily the urge to win. Because for me wanting to win is simple, it's fun to focus on an objective.

Some people probably hate to lose because they feel like it's an attack on their self-worth. Especially considering how a lot of people think losing in this game on either role is the result of being less skilled than the opponent, an idea which makes no sense to me in an asymmetrical game.

As a result of the treatment of people that lose in this game they begin to fear losing. They start to play in ways that minimise the odds of defeat, some people even start cheating in a subtle way.

It's all just a result of the competitive nature of humans.

Personally i do not believe this game is fair, therefore, the results of matches cannot be as fair judgement as skill either.

That's how i think it should be anyway, as it inspired by horror movies.

  • Yes they are bugged, yes they know they are bugged.

    image.png

  • That isn't a quality of life change. That is a nerf to a mediocre killer perk. Which would lead to even less perk variety which is an issue this game has always had and will continue to have if changes like this happen.

"Distortion" isn't a waste of a perk slot... it's actually extremely effective at countering killers who use an aura perk which are very popular right now. Even if it doesn't get used, you still get the value from the perk knowing that the killer doesn't have aura perks. Also sometimes you bring perks in this game and they don't see any use, that is just the risk you have to consider when creating a loadout.

I'm sorry but suggested changes like this are really frustrating.

  • They are not buffs, they are quality of life changes to the UI, giving you information that voice chat would already easily convey. Therefore they should be in the game regardless of how strong they appear to be because voice chat is completely allowed. This way the game is being balanced in a more realistic way.

  • I don't think that if this game is unfun for a new player they would really enjoy it as an experienced player. Being invested in dbd is part of the appeal. I feel like people that say that would be the kind of people to try all of the stuff available and then get bored of the game.

  • Here's how i would want Eruption to work :

    • Damaging a generator applies Eruption, which highlights it in yellow.
    • Whenever a survivor enters the dying state affected generators explode losing 10% of it's total progress
    • Survivors that are within 8 meters of affected geneators when they explode will scream, and be affected by the Blindness and Oblivious status effects for 45 seconds

    Eruption has a cool-down of 30 seconds.

So basically this version of eruption replaces the incapacitated with effects that allow a killer to do a stealth attack on these survivors. Instead of affecting repairing survivors it affects survivors that are close to it, therefore this makes it difficult for a swf to counter it as easily so that it's on the same level against solos.

I don't like the new version because they acknowledged the discrepancy about the swf vs solo aspect but they didn't really fix it, they just nerfed it so that solo survivors are affected in a different (and weaker) way.

I suspect that they just wanted to kill the perk so that people stop running it and choose a different gen perk. It's basically as if they are kill switching the perk.

  • I remember playing trickster on mothers dwelling one time and survivors got 3 gens done before i even saw a scratch mark, that was funny.

  • Sorry mods, i accidently put this in the wrong category, please would you move it to Feedback and Suggestions?

  • I just received david and wraith on ps5 with their red cosmetics, seems like they've temporarily removed the characters as tutorial rewards. Thanks BHVR

  • Dragon's grip cooldown is way too long. The cooldown is effectively 110 seconds because it seems to only start after the application window of 30 seconds ends. The perk is just not worth it, it's a bad perk.

  • Same issue on the PS5. Won't be able to play David or Wraith until this issue is fixed.

  • I don't think it's about making killer scary i think it's about encouraging survivors to respect the killers presence. Survivors are able to feel too safe in too many situations i feel like and it makes killer frustrating. Survivors shouldn't be able to repair gens safely when the killer is chasing someone very close and survivors shouldn't be able to gang up on killers that are trying to pick up a survivor. There are too many endurance effects - injured survivors can often be just as safe as healthy survivors and even more safe. Healing effects are also way too abundant, killer injuries do not feel impactful. I think to put it simply, killers do not feel dosile. Survivors are in control too much.

  • Why do survivors try to do gens fast as possible?

Because they want to minimise the risk of losing. I have the same reason for tunnelling.

I don't even care about the pips. It's the social humiliation that players in this community will do to you if you lose a match as killer.

  • Kindred and Reassurance

  • I thought the same for a while but i landed on that dredge is honestly not that good. The idea of Nightfall is really not that effective in a game where most of the survivor gameplay is repairing gens for 90 seconds. Locks on lockers are too abundant and effective. And his anti-loop is not very reliable and has a noticable cooldown.

Dredge is a killer that overall has relatively slow map traversal and inconsistent chasing power.

I think Onryo is a lot more reliable than Dredge but has less potential.

I personally only play dredge because i think his audio and visual design is intriguing.

  • For me it starts with getting frustrated at the players over balancing disputes and then BHVR steps in with their changes or input and sometimes they share their view of things which makes it look like they don't understand the problems that people are having with their game which causes people to lose faith in them and get frustrated.

But, taking a step back, i think BHVR deserves appreciation. They do support this game a lot and some of the devs that appear on streams and on the forums do seem like nice people. When looking at this game casually, it is amazing. There is an enormous amount of content and possibilities, it is a fun horror game.

This game is just very frustrating at a competitive level is all.

  • Yeah you probably won't like killer. Some survivor perks are very overwhelming. But there are some very powerful killer perks but most of them are locked behind license DLC. But i don't really find stacking gen slowdown to be so fun either i feel like it adds to the stress.

Either you have to lose to these survivors to keep playing with your current builds and drop mmr or you pay up and start getting better stuff the compete, the choice is yours.

  • If you don't play both sides, then why would you want this achievement? Because if you don't play both sides then you won't be able to get all the achievements, why would you want this random achievement in particular?

Sorry, but i just feel like you're grasping at straws just to reject my concern.

I see this happen a lot on this forum... first reply on most of the posts is someone trying to invalidate the discussion.

    I'm bored of it.

  • Jolt because you can't overcharge a gen that has been struck with pain res. Personally when i make killer builds i always try to avoid conflicts like this.

But events are the only time mystery boxes spawn now and there is an achievement for them so not putting them in killer bloodwebs wouldnt be fair.

You could just get them through survivor bloodwebs.

I think, wasting everyone's time for an achievement that they probably unlocked years ago isn't fair.
