I don't know about 2 and 3, but my first choice goes to Xenomorph. Personally, I think Xenomorph's power is badly designed:
- Xeno not having a tell when they're about to hit with their tail is frustrating. All other killers who can injure with an M2 have a distinct cue that they're about to do so (e.g. Huntress raises her hatchet, Nemesis unsheathes his tentacle, Deathslinger aims down sights, Pig roars etc.) and Xeno just has nothing. So a lot of the looping against them boils down to guesswork.
- Of course, I understand that the reason Xeno wasn't given a tell is because their power can be denied completely by turrets, but turrets are such an unreliable counterplay. There's entire rooms on some maps like Midwich and Hawkins where the game just won't allow you to place turrets. Plus, solo teammates always seem to put them in the middle of nowhere or just not bother with them at all.
- And lastly... hitboxes... Xeno's tail attack has to be one of the most visually inconsistent things in this game. It somehow manages to be worse than Nemesis' tentacle strike in terms of the animation not lining up properly with the true hitbox.
-
These AMAs are kind of pointless IMHO.
I hate to be critical when they're obviously trying to have better communication with the community, but we only ever get generic nonanswers with these types of thing.
-
Useless perk that only serves to bloat the Bloodweb.
-
These perks are very strong when they work. But the caveat is they rely on an RNG element (skill checks) to get value, which makes them unappealing.
It’s the same problem as Autodidact. At full stacks, Autodidact is an insanely good perk. You can take someone from the dying state to heathy in seconds. The only problem? It’s inconsistent and therefore people don’t run it.
Why run Hyperfocus, which I might get good value out of if I get Skill Checks, succeed at them, and don’t get interrupted, when I could just run something like Resilience which doubles as both a gen speed perk and a chase perk, and is almost guaranteed to see value?
-
Yes. PLEASE.
And while we're at it, can we make the game prioritise healing over sabotage after unhooking a survivor. I'm so tired of my character moving to start the sabotage animation when the prompt clearly said heal...
There's so many QoL issues in this game that should've been resolved years ago.
-
Way too powerful.
The only way this could work is if the perk decreased healing speed.
-
The map has a few big problems in my opinion:
- The main building is too strong for survivors. There's multiple very safe pallets, that you essentially just have to break. There's no mindgaming or playing around them. The windows on the bottom floor are pretty rough too. It doesn't help that the asylum is situated in the middle of the map, so it's always acessible in a chase.
- Killer belongings (e.g. Onryō's TVs, Plagues fountains) have bad spawns on this map. They never spawn centrally (i.e. in the asylum) so you have to go out of your way to use your power as someone like Plague.
- The map is too big and awkwardly shaped.
-
Something does feel off. Queue times especially have been so weird lately.
A few weeks ago they started taking a long time 5+ minutes for me (even at peak hours), and now over the past few days they’ve been really quick again.
-
Skull Merchant is a disaster of a killer and needs a total rework from the ground up.
I’ve been saying since her first rendition that she’s unsalvageable, and the fact we’re on her third iteration and she’s still miserable just proves that.
Matches against her only go one of two ways:
- She sets up a 3 gen at the start of the match and wastes everyone’s time by dragging the match on for an hour. Yes, she was nerfed but this is still very possible.
- She drops a drone at every loop in a chase, forcing the survivor to either leave the loop, or get scanned. Rinse and repeat until the survivor doesn’t have any resources left and they’re forced to go down.
She’s just horribly designed.
-
I'm not sure how exactly how they should be changed, but there's quite a few that need looked at:
- Blighted Rat and Blighted Crow: Makes traversing the map ridiculously easy and narrows the already small margin survivors have to react to Blight's rushes. Would probably be fine if they either didn't stack, or had their numbers reduced a little.
- Adrenaline Vial: This one is just all-around silly. It gives a sizeable buff to virtually every aspect of Blight's kit for just one add-on slot. It's too much. Needs completely reworked.
- Alchemist's Ring: Another outrageously strong add-on. Allows The Blight to instantly follow up a Lethal Rush hit with another. Needs completely reworked.
- Iridescent Blight Tag: Blight's chase power is very strong basekit, he doesn't need an insta-down add-on. Completely rework this.
- Compound Thirty-Three: Another add-on that does multiple things for just one add-on slot. Slowing survivors down and being able to easily break pallets and walls is silly. They need to pick one effect or the other.
-
Yeah this perk was overbuffed.
The range you have to scout around before picking someone up against Background Player is unreasonable.
Killer grasp rescues aside, it's also absolutely unnmatched as a tool for map traversal. You got the ability to cover ~half of the map every time the killer picks someone up. It's too mcuh.
-
I'd rank them like this (in order from best to worst):
- Scream (1996): The one that started it all. I kind of have to put it first really.
- Scream 2: I LOVE the final showdown in the theatre. A really strong sequel overall.
- Scream 4: Great Ghostface reveals. Had me gagged the first time I watched it.
- Scream 6: Having a different setting was very refreshing, the Ghostface reveals were effective, and I thought they juggled the rather extensive character roster well. Bonus points for the ladder scene -- easily one of the most memorable scenes in the franchise for me.
- Scream 3: It leaned a little too much into comedy for my liking, but it was still a good entry overall. Sidney getting chased through the Woodsboro set is another scene I love.
- Scream (2022): A decent reboot, although I actually hated it when it first came out. It wasn't until the ~third rewatch that it started to grow on me and now I enjoy it. The biggest let down for me was the Ghostfaces. They had the worst motives in the whole franchise, and it was very obvious who they were about halfway into the film. It wasn't bad, but definitely could've been better.
Scream (2022) also gets points deducted for following the annoying trend of naming movie reboots the same thing as the original. It's not really a big deal, just a personal pet peeve of mine.
-
Yes! I saw it four times yesterday, which is more than I’ve seen it in months to be honest.
-
I just checked and mine are all empty still.
-
We've been asking for this for so long. Please make it happen!
Nemesis' contamination, Plague's sickness, Wesker's infection, Singularity's slipstream, etc. all prove that it's possible for them to do.
-
I'm also disappointed.
Feels kind of insulting for them to say "We know players love customisation" (paraphrased) on their livestream yesterday, just for them to launch player cards with only 1 customisation option.
-
and i’m just wondering if that is true?
The Batteries Included nerf is planned to be reverted in a future hot fix.
And if so i’m curious as to why?
Because it’s a mediocre perk that didn’t deserve a nerf in the first place.
MFT had been nerfed because of its potential to synergize with Hope during end game.
MFT is being nerfed because it’s a completely broken perk. The synergy with Hope is just the icing on an already very unbalanced cake.
Besides, BI + NOED isn’t comparable to MFT + Hope:
- BI only provides 5% Haste when within 12 m of a generator (I.e. it’s conditional).
- NOED can be completely deactivated by cleansing the totem (I.e. it’s conditional).
- Hope provides +7% Haste to survivors without any conditions. It’s active for the whole endgame with ZERO counter.

I agree with this point of view to a certain degree, the problem is: the game needs to have a consistent "internal philosophy" of what it does and changes.
For the record, I don’t think the Dusty Noose (and similar) should’ve been changed.
-
Tiffany smoking in-game is perfectly fine.
Dead by Daylight is an 18+ game, and all of the relevant warnings are on the box.
At some point, people have to be responsible for their own mental well-being. I’m kind of tired of perfectly innocuous things being changed…
-
Only decent on a select few killers who can quickly capitalise on the information it provides (I.e. Onryō and Freddy because they can teleport to gens).
Honestly though, I kind of don’t like it because the survivor’s aura is really hard to differentiate from the generator’s aura.

Fair enough, but there is certainly legitimate concern over changing games for the sake of accessibility. For example, what about blind players? We'll need to add in the game constantly announcing verbally the exact position and from what direction the killer is any time the killer is in line of sight. What about those who have issues with their hands? We'll need to remove precise timing\movement skills and just treadmill all movement. Eventually, everything would be made to the point where no one would actually play the game anymore. I know that's taking it to an extreme, but the point is, there absolutely is some element where accessibility can hurt the health of a game if it is not handled properly. Accessibility needs to only be added if it doesn't actually give any non-natural advantage over standard gameplay. Right now, BHVR has failed to do so, as the visual TR appears before people can actually hear the terror radius giving him a couple of seconds head start in reaction time.
Example...this shouldn't be a thing.

Not really.

In terms of disability access, accommodations are generally made on the principle of “reasonable adjustments”. Your example here goes way beyond what most would consider reasonable.
BHVR has failed to do so, as the visual TR appears before people can actually hear the terror radius
That’s not the Terror Radius indicator in the video — that’s the icon for a Lullaby.

This might sound mean, but "accessibility" and "muh bad monitor" is not a reason to cheat.
Just ask for the accessibility options you want, don't modify the game and cheat.
Just go out and buy a new monitor. And before anyone goes "not everyone can afford to just go get a monitor!" That's your problem, and it doesn't give you a pass to cheat.
It doesn’t sound mean, it just sounds out of touch.
Just ask for the accessibility options you want
It took BHVR like six years to even add a search bar so expecting to get accessibility options in a reasonable time frame is out of the question.
Plus we have been asking for these options. For ages now…
-
Your definition of cheating is overzealous and your solution is completely unfeasible.
Requiring players to give out personal information like phone numbers will kill the game instantly.
-
No? Why would we? I’m confused.

I dont mind the increased Map oddities. I just dont understand how Maps like Hawkins or The Game can be the most picked. Because they are not really good for either side.
Especially Hawkins baffles me after we just had a time where the odds for Hawkins were increased.
How Hawkins got picked is beyond me. It's one of the worst maps for both roles.
-
Why though?
-
Hawkins should never have been re-enabled prior to a proper rework. It was made for the game as it was four years ago.
Much has changed since then, and it’s current design is outdated and represents everything people hate about indoor maps.
-
I mean anyone can attach something to the middle of their screen and achieve the same effect, so I don’t really think it qualifies as cheating.
Your friends are kind of overreacting IMO.

I mean Midwich and Dead Dawg are two of my favourite maps but even then I find it annoying to see them again and again.
Variety is what keeps the game interesting for me.

Not anymore.
I’ve recommended this game to 8 people over the years and only 3 of them actually still play it.
DbD is just too unfriendly for new and casual players.

Stand ever so slightly further away than they used to.
If they’re standing further away, then survivors have a much better chance of pulling of a save. Sounds like the system is a success to me 🤷♂️
-
Agreed. I groan every time I hear the Haddonfield jingle.
-
I don't know about MMR, but my queue times have been really long today for both roles.
-
This argument is so silly to me because most modern TVs and monitors have these kinds of settings built-in. You can't ban someone for upping the contrast and vibrance of their TV, so why bother spending the time, money, and effort banning people doing the same thing but with filters? The distinction is arbitary.
Besides, if DbD had good customisation and accessibility options built-in, there would be no need for filters in the first place.
-
I genuinely don’t understand what more people want to be done about facecamping.
- Hook trades were made free a few patches ago with the removal of hook grabs.
- Hooked survivors can unhook themselves when being facecamped.
- And there’s a bunch of perks specifically designed to mitigate camping (and its sister strategy of tunnelling).
At this point, the only times I see facecamping work for killers is when the survivors let it.
-
I play with the medium setting because the game runs terribly on high or ultra for me.
I’d love to play with better settings but if I do then my frame rate is horrible. I wish they’d optimise the game better because I can run newer, way more demanding games (like The Outlast Trials, TCM etc.) on max settings with no issues. But playing DbD on max settings? Literally unplayable :(
-
This is great news!
I’m not a lover of the Hawkins map but I’m glad the characters are available again for all of those who missed out the first time around.
-
I don't.
I think the nerf is substantial, but I don't think it makes the perk unusable.
If it proves to be too harsh of a nerf they can always adjust it after the PTB.
-
proxy camping (camping got removed btw)
Facecamping is the only form of camping that's really been eliminated. Proxy camping is still very much alive -- I still see it in my matches with some regularity.
people are just complaining that stbfl needs to be gutted
Personally, I think the calls for a STBFL nerf are pretty unwarranted. It's strong, no question about that, but it's only helpful on the weakest killers anyways. You're only going to rack up stacks if you're regularly hitting survivors with M1s, which the strongest killers (Nurse and Blight) don't really do. And even then, it's easy to lose stacks unless you're playing a killer that has an easy-to-use M2 like Pig or Demogorgon. The only killers getting consistent value from STBFL are the ones that are widely considered to be on the weaker end of the roster, like Pig, which is why I don't have any issue with it. Right now, I think it helps to bridge the gap between the weaker and stronger killers, and until the weaker killers are improved, I don't think it should be changed too harshly.
Calls to cap it at 6 stacks seem fair enough though, as that would align it with the version that existed before killers got the built-in reduced cooldown a few updates back (I think, I've heard this discussed but not run the numbers to check myself).
-
Stripping away all of the nuance of what I just said. How very insightful.
Survivors didn’t get anything *direct* in the developer update. That doesn’t mean some of the changes aren’t beneficial for them. I already mentioned that map decluttering is a pretty big deal for inexperienced survivors.
Saying this kind of thing is needlessly reductive and divisive.

It's not inciteful at all. Only a small few, including yourself, took it that way. Best to move on if you're offended by it.

This would be an awesome revert. Would calm some "I'm constantly getting tunneled", just bring DS with you so you have a chance.
It's not inciteful at all
Phrases like "survivors got nothing", "killers got nothing" (and other rhetorics repeated ad nauseum every update) come with inherent charge in DbD spaces. The implication of them is that one role is/was neglected in favour of the other.
As I explained, in a vacuum, there's nothing intrinsically wrong with saying that "survivors got nothing". Technically, it's true that they didn't receive any direct addresses in the developer update. However, it's no secret that this community has a big problem with division.
Case and point, the reception to the MFT changes on social media:
Of course, the perk isn't being nerfed because it's unhealthy -- it's being nerfed because killer mains are the root of all evil, have too much influence, and survivors get no say. /s /lh
This is why I don't think this kind of phrasing is helpful. It draws a line in the sand with survivors on one side and killers on the other. It might seem trivial, but the way we talk about things matters. What we say, hear, and read has big impacts on how we perceive things. Yes, one thread is insignificant in the grand scheme of things, but as a collective, all of the divisive thread titles, social media comments, content creator videos, etc. add up to create unnecessary tension between the two roles.
I don't have any issue with the concept of the thread, nor am I "offended" by it, I just think the way we word things is important.

This thread is a fun thread for people to post buffs they'd like to see in it in spite of getting an upcoming update with all nerfs for them. If you're so turned off by it, you're welcome to not engage and find a better use of your time than being spiteful for no real reason. Take a walk, pet your dog. There's other things in the world to spend your time on. ❤️
This thread is a fun thread
Maybe so, but titles like “survivors got nothing” etc. are inherently inflammatory given the nature of the DbD community.
In my opinion you could just have “What survivor buffs would you like to see?” and keep the same meaning of your thread without the connotations that survivors are being neglected in favour of killers.
On its own, there’s nothing wrong with it. But in the broader context of DbD’s never-ending survivors V killers wars, it can sound a little inciting IMO.

This type of reaction is exactly why the devs don't tell us anything.
Yeah. I’ve always advocated for better developer communications, but every developer update makes me second guess whether it was a good idea or not.
People just seem incapable of giving a measured response. The devs can’t say anything without people acting like it’s hitting the live servers unchanged the next day.

More us vs them mentality that leads to more toxicity.
This.
If every change on one side came with an equal and opposite change for the other role, no issues would ever be addressed.
Not to mention that the idea of “survivors got nothing” this patch is just untrue. Decluttering Garden of Joy and Red Forest is immensely helpful for newer survivors as it allows them to find loops without having to know the maps off by heart.
Sure, survivors received less this update — but that doesn’t mean the developers have some bias against the role (like a lot of this forum seems to believe).
