It used to be the case that killers had different numbers of addons of different rarities. Although it was standardised years ago so now everyone has the same number and proportion of each rarity.

I must say that the jacket actually does clip when equipped with his recent alpine leg skin due to the gloves equipped on the side. They probably made it a set for that one reason in advance. But I still believe it shouldn't be a set. There are some skins from feng and mikaela that clips and aren't sets.
So many streamers have actually started playing gabriel a bit because of this set being broken. So I hope they reconsider with not making it a set. But of course take away the skin if someone didn't buy it since it was mistakenly given to everyone.
I wasn't aware the outfit had accidentally been given to everyone. They should definitely fix that. But yeah, this cosmetic should stay unsetted.

is this a bug I’m unaware of? If you’re demanifested doesn’t that hide your terror radius meaning no visual heartbeat?
She has a Lullaby (similarly to Trickster and Huntress) that is unaffected by the Undetectable status effect. It sounds like high-pitched whining and screeching sounds. It shows as part of the visual Terror Radius indicator as a red swirling in the survivor's chest.

It may not be intentional, but that's precisely why BHVR should listen to this kind of feedback. It's often these lesser known cultural and subcultural meanings that matter. And everyone brushing it off apparently needs to read up again on what the Nazi regime stood for and then ask themselves if this type of symbolism has any place in DBD.
Spoiler: The answer is no.
It may not be intentional
Enough said IMHO 🤷
It's obvious this is not what the cosmetic is referring and is simply just a colour scheme thing so why make a song and dance about it?

lace code is something used in punk culture as a flag of sorts to show which group you belong to. red laces signify you are a part of the skinheads/ neo natzi subculture.
This isn't strictly true.
In some places and groups, red laces were used to signal communism, socialism, or even what football team you supported.
Lace code was highly regional. Part of the reason it's now defunct is because everyone had a different idea of what the lace colours meant.

I just find it extremely strange that someone could read this much into such a small detail in a video game cosmetic. The OP should know that the devs didn't make them red for any nefarious reason.
I don't want to undermine anyone's feelings but yeah, I do think people nowadays have a habbit of assuming malice where it's obvious none was intended.
Her hair, jacket, and pants are red and so her laces are red to match.
If you look at the Deep Rift variant, her laces are blue to match. I think the whole thing is a big reach to be honest.

@KateMain86 said:
You have got to be kidding me... What is this some kind of made up tik tok conspiracy?
Lace code was an actual thing over 3 decades ago and only within certain subcultures in certain places.
It's long since dead and nowadays people wear different coloured laces for aesthetic purposes but for some reason people on TikTok and Twitter keep trying to revive it.

Because the Killer is not the host anymore.
However, Killers Ping should be displayed. Because this is what actually matters, it does not matter if a Survivor has 30 or so Ping to the Server if the Killer has 200 Ping.
Yeah I know killers don't host the game anymore but I don't understand why that translates to removing the ping indicator.
-
I can’t understand why the killer ping indicator in the lobby was ever removed for survivors.
Noone wants to play against a Nurse VPNing across the world with 400 ping.
-
Same here. I have to assume this is a bug because the text is just comically large.
-
Agreed. The filter really needs toned down. It makes having any actual conversation impossible.
-
This update was so poorly thought out it's actually surprising. And I have very little faith in BHVR's balance changes so that's saying something.
I just faced a Plague on RPD running Prayer Tablet Fragment and four generator kick perks -- Eruption, Oppression, Call of Brine, and Overcharge. Two generators spawned in the main hall and one just off to the side in the library. She planted herself in the main hall and repeatedly sicked on the 3 generators only. Any time someone got infected, she knew they were working on one of the generators and just rushed over to kick it. To make a long story short, the match lasted about 40 minutes before we all just gave up.
Prior to that, I had went up against a Doctor with Thrilling Tremors, Grim Embrace, Dead Man's Switch, and Deadlock. He'd use static blast to make us scream, kicking us off the generators, and then pick someone up to block them all with Thrilling Tremors. And then hook them, walk away from the hook briefly to proc Grim Embrace and Dead Man's Switch before just going back to camp.
What a colossal waste of time this anti 3 gen feature was.
-
I was looking forward to the update but after they announced the Sadako nerfs, I'm not particularly interested anymore. I might check out the new gamemode. I don't know.
-
Same here. Very frustrating.
-
This is the thing that annoys me most about the nerfs -- the illogical justification for it.
There are a number of other killers whose powers facilitate camping and tunneling (and other unfun strategies) far more than Onryō. Wesker for one, is a beat at tunneling.
And then there's Nurse and Blight, who have chase powers so oppressive that they can shred through any anti-tunneling measures in seconds. As a killer with no chase power, Onryō is never going to be as good at tunneling as a strong Nurse or Blight.
It's all very odd to me.

no. just can see how locking someone at 5 or 6 condemn isn't particularly fun.
buff the rest if necessary.
If a survivor is racking up five or six stacks of condemn, that's entirely their own fault.
-
Not at all. The changes are unwarranted and unwanted.

While nice to hear, I think most of us are already losing our faith in whatever changes are planned. I can't recall a time when a majority of dedicated players of a specific killer came together to praise a change, and now come together to feel betrayed by these nerfs.
I think it's fair to say we're grateful we're being heard but we already thought we were heard in the PTB.
You've hit the nail on the head.
We're happy to hear the developers are looking into it. But this wouldn't need looking into in the first place if we'd just been heard the first time around. The developers have a frustrating habbit of making changes that noone wants (e.g. Hillbilly overheat) that they then have to spend a bunch of time reverting or reworking.
-
I didn’t understand at all why that revert took so long. Why does it take almost a month to revert a perk to a version that is already coded and functional (as we saw on the PTB)?
Same with Onryō. Surely if they’ve heard our feedback, they can just launch PTB version instead. It’s 5 days until launch. That feels like enough time to sort it out to me 🤷♂️

Until i havent seen the "adjustments" im not getting my hopes up. Im super sorry.
Same. I’m accepting the news with a very, very large pinch of salt.

Some good news:
I don’t get why we’re going to have to wait for a follow up update. Surely they can just push the PTB version to live instead?

@Peanits said:
Hey y’all, thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts. It’s clear that the changes we’re making to The Onryo didn’t live up to expectations, so we’re preparing a series of follow-up adjustments to address the feedback we’ve received. These adjustments are planned to release as part of the minor updates in the weeks following the Mid-Chapter. We’ll be sure to share more details once we have a plan locked in.
This is welcome news but this shouldn’t have been necessary in the first place.
Now we’re going to have to wait potentially weeks just for Onryō to be playable because the PTB feedback was, for some reason, discounted.
Unnecessary and unwanted changes like this just add pointless work to an already long backlog…

So, one of the most obnoxious and unhealthiest killers is getting nerfed? I would say rare BHVR double you, but after all the salt they are going to buff her condemned back to the point that people will DC against her more often than SM, so that's a wash.
And I see STBFL is getting buffed to its tunneling potential.
Niiiice.
She hasn't just been nerfed, she's been gutted to complete irrelevancy.
This is not a W.

These Sadako updates have completely destroyed any excitement I had for the update next week...
I'm legitimately just not playing.
Off to Outlast Trials I go.
-
Original Freddy (with some tweaks) needs to return. As does the PTB rendition of Onryō.
They've done us so wrong here and I'm actually devastated.
I genuinely had the 30th marked in my calendar as the day the Alan Wake chapter and Onryō rework drops. Now I don't have any desire to play.🤷
-
And The Onryō is back to being one of the worst killers in the game...
-
@Venusa said:
Apparently PTB, whose sole purpose is testing, isn't good enough for testing that we need to carry broken stuff over to live and test some more and make sure people hate the game.
And the fact that they basically announced "This might be a broken combo!" LOL. Yeah everybody will be running that now, thanks.
This might be the worst Developer Update they've ever given us.
- Bizarre Onryō nerfs from the PTB that noone asked for.
- No mention of buffs to Alan's perks -- which are widely regarded as mediocre at best.
- Blight somehow being able to keep his infinite rush add-on (this one is truly baffling)
- And the cherry on the cake is the developers acknowledging that players found Grim Embrace + Dead Man's Switch to be problematic but have decided to do nothing about it.
Like ??? What is going on at BHVR ???

Same :( I was so happy.

@radiantHero23 said:
I understand where the nerfs are coming from, but some of them are absolutely unjustified.
The lock on should have stayed as it was. It was the only thing making chases and hooks an incentive. Getting an early kill via hooking is not that common because Sadakos chase is not good.
The cooldown on condemned is bad. Thats it. Just bad.
WE NEEDED ADDON CHANGES! WHERE ARE THEY???
I don't understand the point of PTBs anymore. They don't listen to what the players are actually saying and just do silly things like this.
-
Why is Onryō once again receiving drastic changes that noone asked for? Her PTB rendition was a fantastic middleground of her original and buffed power, and most Onryō players were overwhelmingly happy with the PTB.
I'm so annoyed I wasted 100 Prestiges worth of Bloodpoints on this character just for them to throw her kit on the chopping block every few months and do something random. Can we just get her PTB version back and leave her alone.
However, some crafty Onryō players discovered that they could intentionally teleport to the wrong TVs first in order to spread more than one stack of Condemned to Survivors near/heading towards a powered one.
Like how is this even a problem? The survivor can just turn off the TV in the first place. Why is the killer being punished for a survivor not engaging with the counterplay?
Start your chainsaws! We were pleased to see such a positive response to The Hillbilly on the PTB.
And I guess the positive response to the Onryō changes doesn't matter...
-
Because the killer will do everything in their power to tunnel you out, or camp you on hook in end game.
If it's endgame, what else should the killer do? Going for another survivor is risky -- you aren't guaranteed to get the down. So the safest option is to just defend the hook you've already got and confirm the kill.
-
@GeneralV said:
The only thing they should do with Tombstone is add an warning the killer has it equipped. And I think I have a good way of doing so.
Myers used to have a sound cue that indicated his Tier 3 was close. Perhaps we could make Tombstone piece play that sound cue when he is about to tier up.
For reference, it is this one:
I've always loved this sound effect. Gutted they removed it.
-
Aside from the aesthetics, there's little I miss about the gameplay of old DbD.
People look at classic DbD with very rose-tinted glasses IMO.
-
@GeneralV said:
Never truly understood why they changed that.
I don't think Deathslinger really needed a nerf.
I agree.
I never actually thought Deathslinger was a problem before. The change has always confused me.
-
I don't like this map as either role. Namely due to its size and the fact I never seem to get good FPS on this map.
-
Yeah this has annoyed me ever since it released.
It's not a huge deal, but the lack of consistency bothers me.
-
I wholeheartedly believe that killers should have a limited amount of time they can use their inherent power. Once the power is expended they will have to rely on their perks just like survivors.
Killers having access to a power that survivors do not, and thereby being the stronger role, is kind of the whole point of the game. Dead by Daylight is an "asymmetric multiplayer survival horror". The key word in that description being asymmetric -- meaning the two roles are intentionally not equal in strength and design.
Removing or heavily restricting killer powers defeats the point of the game, and leads to a frustrating experience (see complaints about The Shape's limited stalking for instance).
-
Honestly I don’t even find this kind of thing funny anymore.
It’s just maddening how little BHVR cares for our feedback.
Unnecessary sets, backpacks, time limited cosmetics, refusing to bring back old Rift cosmetics etc. I’m over it. Not buying any more paid cosmetics 🤷
I know backpacks aren’t a big deal on their own but it’s reflective of a larger issue with developer-community relations in this game. We can ask for years, time and time again for something to change and BHVR will just do whatever they want regardless.
-
I would also like to know!
-
This is one of those outdated mechanics that should’ve been removed a long time ago IMO.
-
Not at all.
Most modern TVs and monitors have the ability to adjust brightness, contrast, saturation, colours etc. It would be silly and unenforceable to label players as cheaters for adjusting their display settings so why should filters be treated any differently (considering they achieve the same results).
Not to mention that the ability to customise display is standard in games nowadays. Really, the need for filters in the first place is the fault of DbD’s inadequate settings and accessibility options.
-
I'm still waiting on a Billy Coen legendary skin :(
-
The most they should do is cap it at 6 stacks.
Anything more is overkill.
-
Anticamp feature
It's an anti face-camping feature. It's intended to combat face-camping specifically -- not camping overall.
I don’t understand why the feature doesn’t activate when the exit gates are open
Because what else is the killer supposed to do other than defend the hook at that point?
I think the killers terror radius should trigger the anti camp feature
This would lead to killers with a natively larger Terror Radius being unfairly punished. Also, how would this work with the Undetectable status effect? It's unfeasible IMO.
because killers can still camp from a distance
That's kind of the point. You can't camp directly in front of a hook anymore, you have to move some distance away if you want to do it. This distance between the killer and the hook allows survivors a greater chance of pulling of a rescue.
-
Agreed.
I don't have anything else to say to this. Just stop it, please BHVR.
-

Why do we need a Grim Reaper Nurse skin when we already have Ghostface?

I hate map offerings. I don’t care what role I’m playing or what map offering it is. Seeing one just immediately puts a damper on the match for me.
Being able to pick the map has too much sway over how the match plays out.

Yes. It only appears if you said you play on multiple platforms.
It's annoying because i don't play on multiple platforms because there is no cross progression.
I do play on multiple platforms though. I selected three different ones on the survey.

Is this another instance of BHVR giving everyone different questions because I didn't get any questions on cross-progression.

Potential Energy just because I like the animation.
