It more games than just this forum. I think what bugs me a bit is that the Dev's have already said they want to add characters in that identify this way. So why more posts about it when they have already said they will do it?
I mean, the devs also said that noed is fine and won't be changed anytime soon.Does that stop thousands of people on this forum to complain about noed? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I'm so sick of being on the ground, exhausted. Or to dodge a lunge attack and still go down at the end of it. How long has this issue been around and the devs do nothing about it? Guess it's just one more drop in the bucket full of bugs this game has become, but given how prevalent this perk is I would imagine it should have taken some kind of priority over other things considering how much BHVR loves their "data". Now that the Twins are out I guess we just have to live with flipping a coin every time we use this perk for the foreseeable future...smh.
Dead hard has been broken since the introduction of dedicated servers, because the way they coded dead hard was to work with a p2p connection not dedicated servers.
They are currently reworking the code of dead hard to make it useable with servers.
It will take a lot of time though.I'm guessing something like 6 months or so

Personally, I don't care what a in game character is or identifies as, it doesn't effect the game play, so to me it's irreverent.
If you want a trans survivors or whatever.......fine. I just get tired of seeing it repeated so often
(repetition of the same thing drives me nuts (The same advert 100 times a day!!!!!) , so this isn't just reserved for this topic. DS! Springtrap! Gen Rush! .... on and on it goes, cant keep it to one thread!). Yes, I can see the irony that DBD...kill survivor or fix gen...unhook ... is rather repetitive to....but I think having the control in game stops it from bugging me.
If you hate people that repeat themself then why are you even on the forum?
People here almost always talk about the same things (Toxic killers/survivors,unfair perks etc.) lol
But i'm pretty sure i could count the amount of threads i see regarding LGBT representation on one hand
-
If you love to play very agressive then i guess something like BBQ,Bamboozle,Enduring and Spirit Fury would work for you.

Wraith should have true invisibility. And do away with being able to hear the bell from across the map. You should only hear it inside his TR.
For Demogorgon I think he'd be fine if his addons were more useful. I dont think there's much wrong with his base kit
But you would never hear him uncloak then, which i think would be a bit too much

I literally said representation is important lol
It's important overall in the grand scheme of things, but to me, personally, I don't play games to be represented, so it doesn't matter to me one way or the other.
As long as something isn't outright insulting the LGBT community, races, or medical ailments, then I'm typically OK with it.
I play games because I like the game in particular. Overwatch, for example, has a wide range of representation in it and it is commendable that it does that. But for me, it isn't going to change which characters I pick or my enjoyment of the game one way or the other. It's just not what I look for in a game. I look for gameplay first and foremost. Anything else is secondary to that, and as long as it is written well, I will usually enjoy it.
And that's the main thing for me. It needs to be WRITTEN WELL.
You know,i'm not the brightest bulb in the box sometimes 🚫💡

I'm just giving you my opinion on these matters.
Guess,i just misunderstood your statement a bit

@weirdkid5 said:
I agree representation is important.
But as someone who's bi, I could care less about such things in a game like DbD. I've never chosen a character in a game because they are "similar" to me. I choose characters that I think are badass. I relegate characters that are like me to games where I can create said character, like RPGs.
Certain games are better for this kind of stuff than others. Case in point, Cyberpunk is only a few days away.
It might be not as important to you but i bet there are people that would deeply appreciate some kind of representation (if it's done well of course).
There are definetely a LOT of people that pick character becaise they can relate to them

Thanks for some thorough insight on this.
I’ve also thought it was a fairness thing as well. For example, why should Billy have two ways to activate Surge, whereas Clown simply only has the one way? Why should Billy, Demo, Bubba, etc etc get additional advantage from such perks?
Fairness in this context sounds weird.
Why shouldn't you design perks that would work on a lot of killers and possibly offer alternatives for different playstyles?

Which is why i said that their frustrations are justified to a certain degree.
Criticizing is ok,insulting and lying isn't.
-
I'm sorry but people frustrations about the current state of the game are 100% justified (at least to a certain degree).
And i'm not really sure if they really get the message or else we wouldn't have this dumpster fire of an update right now. This company just keeps messing up over and over again. And people are entitled to criticize them for that
-
@CLAUDETTEINABUSH said:
I'll be the one who won't tag almo, and say that I agree with him. The game doesn't really need a huntress that can have haunted, franklins and sloppy on her hatchets. Even tho, I'll say that there should be some exceptions. For example I think shred should activate everything except exposed effects, same with pigs m2. But adding these would make stbfl really weak.
The basic attack requirement makes sense on most perks (e.g exposed status effect, franklins stbfl),but there are perks like surge that already have more than enough restrictions (32m range + 40 seconds cooldown) to make sure it's not too overwhelming.Adding a basic attack requirement on top of that is overkill

You realize that The Nurse is a prime example of the Ball of Yarn Almo is describing? Needing to overhaul a massive amount of hitboxes/terrain all for a single Killer? That is why. Every map update, every asset change, they need to take into consideration of The Nurse. There will very likely be oversight because of this, and not simply because "Hey, devs are lazy", but because of an overwhelming amount of information required to make just one thing work.
And even if they give a response, given that it's always going to be an uphill battle with The Nurse, any comments are just going to be lost to the wind.
I understand the problem with blink deadzones, but there are other bugs that should have been fixed already.
Like not being able to attack after blinking,or your lunge range getting reduced to pretty much zero sometimes after blinking
-
@Almo said:
This requirement will stay. There are things we don't want, like someone going into dying state due to a Bear Trap with Honing Stone triggering stuff like Surge. The alternative to the basic attack requirement is making exceptions. For example we could say Surge works for Demo Shred, but not Trapper BT/HS. Now every time we add a new Killer, we potentially have to through and update every perk with these exceptions. It's just not a maintainable design with the vast amount of perk/addon/power combinations available.
Since every Killer can basic attack, we can create the perk, and know exactly how it works with every Killer without having to check a ton of different interactions. If this means some perks don't work well given some Killers' powers, then that's just the way of it. Not every perk is exactly as useful on one Killer as it is on the others. Learning to choose your perks well to synergize with your chosen Killer is one of the important skills in DbD.
I have heard it said that this answer means we're "lazy"... that we're not willing to "do things that take work". Whole programming languages and paradigms have been based around preventing the same thing in code as we're trying to prevent in design with this strategy. You don't want a ball of yarn of a design where tugging on any little thing pulls a whole ton of others.
In a game as complex as DbD, there will necessarily be some of that. But minimizing it through smart design is still a worthwhile endeavor.
I don't see any problems with that on surge, considering we have still the range restriction of 32m AND a cooldown of 40 seconds.
EDIT:Plus it's just 8% regression which is about 6.4 seconds of lost progress as a single survivor

And there are casuals on the survivor side who don't genrush and don't play SWF at all, and map design has been fixed and reiterated over and over to remove all the broken god loops.
You say casual killer players without thousands of hours should be given the tools to compete with the cream of the crop survivor players with thousands of hours of play time. But you should be comparing them to casual survivors as well.
Actually a good point

The only thing i want to see changed about freddy is that your sleep timer pauses as soon as you begin the chase with him.
That would actually reward survivors who manage to stay awake.

If you're being dominated by Freddy, who is literally just an M1 warrior, you're bad at the game. Period.
The ONLY issue with Freddy are his addons, a few of which are busted, and the fact that he somehow gets bloodlust even when using his power.
Everyone saying "he's boring" or "he's op" are just parroting their favorite streamer who say the same nonsense.
The truth is, any killer with any sort of anti loop is considered "boring" in the eyes of the community, because god forbid a killer require a different playstyle to beat other than "run in circles, greed pallet, get hit, dead hard for distance" etc. It's them who are boring. They're bored because their same old crap doesn't always work, and it exposes them for the people pretending to be good at the game that they are.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1800262#Comment_1800262
Kill rate means nothing, and even by the devs admission does not take into account things like intentional first hook deaths etc. Also remember, they said he's getting a balance update. Pyramidhead just got one. Know what changed? Nothing of note.
That all being said, Freddy IS easy to use; BUT imagine SURVIVORS of all people complaining that something is "too easy". Survivors - who are literally playing easy mode in DBD.
Why do so many people think that playing survivors is soo easy?
It really isn't.
The majority of survivors i see on high ranks pretty much proves that.
Also, people don't mind strong killers as long as they are interactive (e.g Blight,Oni,Huntress etc.)

I understand they have a lot on their plate right now, but this issue was out before this disaster of a chapter released.
I would've thought it be fixed before then, but now... it'll probably take them about a year with the 151 bugs that came up.
I guess developing the twins took them a LOT of effort and given how tight their release schedule is,then they didn't have enough time to fix it yet

But maybe they will fix it with his POV together

Had a couple matches of blight on the newly reworked maps, they went kind of well?
One of them was on autohaven and had two survivors with flashlights ( I forgot to bring lightborn T.T ). The other was on Ormond, where the survivors were being very stealthy.
Anyway, the collision on autohaven works somewhat well. Besides the cars, which, despite hitting head on. I could not slam off of.
Ormond though... jesus I could barely bounce off of any of the rocks and snow. It cost me a couple gens trying to get here and there while rushing, but not being able to slam into anything.
I hope they fix it soon, I know they said they were looking into it, but they never gave an ETA on it.
Nobody knows.
The last time i heard about it was on McLeans stream after the first hotfix after blights release.
So yeah :]

I already explained all this in the thread, but I'll give you the short version.
Trying to deny someone a hook save when they 10 get away is greedy, thus toxic.
Letting it go, encourages the problem. It may hurt my team to punish those greedy players, but how else will they learn?
And why aren't y'all asking yourselves this simple question...
Why are you trying to Kobe in the first place? Just to see if you're 4% lucky? Why not, idk, just stop doing it?
If it's not a big deal, why defend it?
So you are willing to screw your whole team over because someone tried to unhook themself (""being toxic"") in front off you just to teach them a lesson?
Be the better person.

Why does it matter whether they pull off in front of you or not, it's fun to chance the 4% especially if you're going to get saved, it's not the end of the world, the person will still need healing and it's incredibly rare they'll even pull off anyway.
For real,
Some people take that waaaay too serious.
If somebody pull themself off the hook in front of me i would be slightly annoyed but be like "Whatever" and move on

@Punisher2001 said:
Now, let me start this off by saying that I'm no dummy. The best killers in the world are some of the smartest people you'll ever find. It's no coincidence that killer-ability has been directly linked to player IQ in recent unpublished studies. When you get to be one of the better killers serving today, you develop an almost Herculean will-- a will that allows you to bend the match to any outcome that you choose. The map becomes your canvas, and your weapon, the brush.
I've been using Ghostface exclusively now for the past few months. I feel as though his strengths match my own, as we are both stealthy and misunderstood. On the other hand, he is extremely underpowered-- but I like a challenge.
So there I am, letting all 4 survivors go free (I am a benevolent lord, after all). They're standing in the exit gate, teabagging and sending me messages about how "full of semen/feces compound my underwear must be," which I assume is because of the number of Ruin Hex totems on the map. Yeah, be mad because I want to win every game, big f'n deal. I choose not to engage. However, little do they know that like any resourceful killer, I have NOED equipped. In the sea of survivor-bias that is Dead by Daylight, this is one of the only things keeping the game remotely fair for killers (in a game where it's 4-on-1, it's extremely unfair for a killer to walk away with NO kills or only 1 kill, and depending on the situation, even 2 isn't very fair imo). I wait for one of them to slip up. And one of them does.
A survivor exits the gates and circles me. I swing a few times, chase him half-heartedly, giving him the warning. Then he runs towards a pallet, and I follow. He throws the pallet in my face (expected) and I run to the other side. I'm not sure what he expected, but I reach him just in time to swing as he's crossing the pallet. HOWEVER, my swing goes right through him. One swing was all I needed to take him down, and it just.... goes through his body.
Cheating? Anyone else having this problem? Isn't the hit validation supposed to "favor killers," as I've read a million times from angsty survivors???
It's not cheating. It's dedicated server bs.
Happened to me twice already

Customers are always gonna customer. People buy substandard stuff all the time and don't really get up in arms about it. For an individual customer, hey, it's $6.99, no big loss right? You don't have people boycotting them over that amount, and so the people in charge of looking at the profits and weighing the cost-benefit stuff shrug and go, eh, it's fine to keep going along like this. Behaviour is demonstrably a very metrics-driven company, and what we're seeing here is a consequence of that.
My conclusion about them is that they're never going to stop doing it this way because there is no outside force -- no publishing partner or other external partner -- that is telling them "no" or that can exert pressure on them to try different things or change. They're like the Star Wars prequel-era George Lucas of video game developers in that way; they make all the decisions, and no one is in a position of power to convince them otherwise, because they own the entire stake in this thing.
I agree,
This company needs a clear sign from the community that the current state of updates etc. is not okay.
Another thing that hurts this game a LOT is the lack of competition. There's no game out there that gives you a similiar feeling and experience like DbD does and they know this.

Trust me it's not the issue of them doing objective it's the fact they purposely do it to screw over the Killers for their own fun.
It's like someone waiting in a lobby got 20+ mins just to have people DC purposely to avoid getting you the proper Win.
I use Community to give an indication that it's yes a SFW concept more than Randoms (but it seems Randoms are doing this as well)

Sorry alot like shift blaming and then trying to twist the narrative make it sound like I'm a "Bad" killer (my YouTube surely debunks this.)
If I'm seeing a full team with Add-Ons/Items especially/purposely used to Gen rush on Killers how is that my own mistakes?
I don't pick them the servers do.
The ranking system does.
If you put baby killers with the pros then what do you call it? "git Gud"? Or "Misuse of Players"?
Just wanted to clarify on that.It wasn't aimed at you.I only explained what real genrush is and that a lot of people don't really understand the term.
And i would call it garbage matchmaking,if it puts you against players that are way more experienced than you.
-
@MichaelAMyers said:
Does anyone else feel that Gen Rushing is a issue for this community? It makes the gameplay to fast and unnecessary for killers.
The actual problem is that a LOT of people misuse this term.
Actual gen rush is a team of survivors that focus solely on doing the objective and would even let teammates die just to focus on completing their objective.
The problem with that now is that a lot of killer just blame their loss on gen rush and say something like "Well, they genrushed me.Nothing i could have done about it."
Which is almost never true.So many people just aren't able to look at their own mistakes they made during the match and blame something else for it.Those players will never get better at the game and that goes for both sides
