Quote: "I cannot even fathom the mind set of people who main strong killers and still lose."
I'm not trying to sound rude here but if you faced decent survivors you would understand why some killers are acting like the game was heavily survivor sided.
Even 1 million hour streamers like Umbra get destroyed every now and then using strong killers like Bubba or Hillbilly.
Last time I watched her she literally got a 0k as Bubba on Shelter Woods (even though that map is still a one huge deadzone for the most part), then a 1k as Hillbilly one match afterwards.
http://www.twitch.tv/umbra/v/860647600?sr=a&t=17271s
Those are strong killers and Umbra is an elite level killer main. Also Hillbilly is her second main just behind Huntress and she's played a TON of Bubba since and before his rework so lack of experience isn't a factor here.
If survivors play well you WILL lose even when playing strong killers. Also if you check the lobby she had to wait for a while for 1 or 2 survivors to join so it wasn't even a 4man-SWF team or something. These were just good survivors.
Yikes. Watched the Bubba match. Saw a completely different match than you did, I'm afraid. Regardless of a player's reputation of being a good killer, if they don't actually play a good round, then yes they will probably lose.
Her add-ons were not good, her perks were not good. She lost every chase. She had no pressure even on a small map. Didn't look like she was concentrating, either. Was lucky to even have two people on the ground at the end, and a chance at a 2k.
I like Umbra's huntress. Haven't seen her play other killers, but objectively that Bubba game was a purple/green rank killer performance, with every survivor outplaying her. In that case, yes, the survivors should win.

The majority of people in this thread have no concept of balance.
The combo of Ruin, Undying and Tinkerer is one of the strongest things the devs have made. It's right up there with moris in regards to how many undeserved 4ks it gave to killers, or keys and undeserved escapes.
I feel like most of the people in this thread haven't actually played in red rank games? And they don't actually realize how oppressive that combo is when the killer has even a basic understanding of his goal in a match.
I have 4000 hours in the game. Probably about 55-60 percent of that as killer.
When that combo first came out I used it for a bit. Stopped using it quickly. Too overpowered. Same thing I did with nurse before she got nerfed (never used her - too op), legion when he first came out.
When I was still a new player I used moris. I used the overpowered stuff. But, the thing is, this game still has quite a few overpowered things (red addon ruin Undying Tinkerer spirit, anyone?). But, using those things, and getting a 4k doesn't mean it was a deserved 4k. Either side shouldn't be able to just decide "okay, I want to win this game. Doesn't matter what the other side wants." But that's what the combo of Ruin, Undying and Tinkerer together did for a decent killer at red ranks.
The funny thing, though? That combo won't be nerfed to the ground, either. The proposed changes effectively only serve to do one thing: take away the extreme randomness of having to cleanse up to 4-5 totems before finally getting ruin. That alone won killers so many games, even if they played poorly.
The combo will still be powerful, and I'm hoping that spirits, freddies, nurses and Blights will be scared into moving to a different meta, because the combo will still be plenty strong on them especially. Old Ruin, even when cleansed fairly quickly, still gave the killer benefit. Totem locations are getting better and better, so finding 2 totems will still buy time for a good killer. It's just the bad killers who should be worried about this change.

You know you sound like an entitled survivor right? So let me get this straight, ruin, undying and tinkerer are a problem but decisive, dead hard, insta heals, flashlight stuns, borrowed time aren’t? If survivors are allowed all this then why cant killers have some good perks too. If you really played both, you wouldn’t be saying anything you just said, thank god your not the one to balance the game, it would be a killlers nightmare if we followed your logic
Insta-heals? Flashlight stuns? What?
Are you sure you aren't playing on a 2 year old version of the game?
And you've got things all turned around. It's precisely because I play both that I'd like balance for both sides. When I play killer, I want an equal chance to do well. When I play survivor, I want an equal chance to do well. Too many people on here like you who only have concern for one role.
Do yourself a favor and watch a Korean stream or two in the next few days; take a look at how stifling these perks are when used by killers who aren't worried about 'flashlight stuns' and 'Insta-heals'.

If the Killer is hardcore camping, obviously you know to rush gens. Ruin won't get ANY value unless you leave your gen, so if he is camping, Ruin won't come into play, so I'm not sure I follow.
To me, it sounds like your problems lie in the way the Killer plays, not in his perk choice. Eliminating a Survivor as early as possible is an excellent strategy, provided said Survivor is a weak looper. A 3v1 is MASSIVELY against you. From what I've gathered, it sounds like the Killer would have won no matter what perks he was running.
You were doing so well until you decided to put words in my mouth, the opposite of that which I actually said, without actually reading my comment.

@Spirez said:
Wow in 80% of games at red ranks there is DS I hope the devs are looking into this too. While they’re at it how about also Dead hard, borrowed time, iron will, and unbreakable.
See how ridiculous that sounds.
Thats what you sound like making this post.
Also keep in mind two of those killer perks can be erased from the match at the start of it. After that tinkerer becomes more of a “look what gen you’re about to lose”.
It is actually quite concerning that this post received so many upvotes.
First, I'd argue that it is closer to 90 percent of games at red ranks that have at least one DS. And DS is a perk that the devs have mentioned they are closely monitoring several times now.
If you want to complain about Borrowed Time, Dead Hard, Unbreakable, I don't know what to tell you. Lol.
This isn't a Killer VS. Survivor post. I only want things that destroy the balance of the game to be better balanced. I want ebony and green moris radically changed/out of the game. I want keys radically changed/removed. I want killers to be able to see if it is an SWF or not at the beginning of the match so they can plan accordingly. I want the Huntress' iridescent hatchets to be changed. I am not a killer main. I am not a survivor main. I want balance for both sides, because I play both sides fairly equally.
The combo being talked about in this post is something that needs to be changed. It gives too much reward for too little drawback. In other words, easy wins in games that the other side would have won on a level playing field.

It's pretty obvious that OP wasn't being completely truthful. Claims to be huntress main and says that tinkerer gives him too easy wins? Much better perks out there to run with her. Also she's 110 killer so i don't know if ruin, undying is even that good because she cannot apply enough pressure due slow movement speed
I refuse to use Ruin, Undying, Tinkerer out of principle. After testing the combo and seeing how broken it is, I stopped using it completely. I don't use it on my Huntress.
I never used the nurse when she was brokenly overpowered. Now that she has been brought down to Earth, I use her.
I never used Legion when so many players were exploiting him when he first came out.
-
@Pulsar said:
I disagree. While I think Undying might do too much, i.e aura reading on dull totems, I do not think that combo is overpowered.
It actually encourages fun and "good" gameplay. If you are a campy, tunneling Killer who doesn't spread out pressure, you won't get ANY value from it. However, if you spread out pressure and patrol gens, you will get value.
On the other hand, instead of using the DS example many have already done, I'll use Borrowed Time. BT is designed to allow the Survivor who gets unhooked to have a chance to escape if the Killer is camping. However, that is not how it is used in 99% of cases. Survivors use it to commit unsafe rescues with no punishment and there is NOTHING the Killer can do to stop BT from activating. It promotes bad plays and it should be looked into before Ruin/Undying/Tinkerer.
Finally a decent response. It seems most of the other posters haven't actually played against this combo.
However, I've actually experienced the opposite: promoting quite unfun game play. The four matches I mentioned above went the exact same way: The killer forced the next hook stage on the first survivor he hooked, and tunneled him to death. From the beginning of the game to the end there was little the other 3 survivors (me included) could have done to change the outcome.
Had we ignored totems and only done gens, that would have been 2 gens left, with ruin and Undying still up when the first player died.
Had one or more players looked for totems while the first player was being chased, hooked, camped, and tunneled to death, that would have been 3 to 4 gens left when the first player died.
Had we all rushed the hook to save the first player before he reached his next hook state, not enough totems would have been broken, (almost) no gens would have been done, extra people would have been injured, and this it might not have even been worth the time (depending on how long the saved players' next chase lasted).
All of these situations give huge advantages to a killer who simply camps his first hook and has 2 (or 3, with Tinkerer) perks equipped. This is not a rare situation. Every one of those matches I mentioned went this way. Again, I am not complaining about camping or tunneling. Whether people do or do not do that is of no concern to me. What concerns me is that there is entirely too much benefit to simply equipping those 2 (or 3) perks and letting them win the game for you.
Maybe the American/European meta is a bid behind. I'm not sure. I haven't been watching streams from those regions recently. But this situation I've mentioned above is the norm on the Korean server. And it isn't fun.
-
The unfortunate thing is that both viewpoints are correct here. The guy with the Adam portrait claiming that everything is fine and that killers are plenty strong has a point. At whatever rank he plays at, killers have the advantage. He most definitely dies more than he survives because at lower ranks it's a different game experience.
But at high ranks that isn't the case. At red ranks if all 5 players in the match are close to equal skill, the survivors have the advantage.
Of course, there are tons of potato survivors even at red ranks though, so true red rank killers will still perform well. I 4k most of my games because the red rank survivor pool is so diluted.
Honestly though, while gens are fast, it is more the atrocious map designs causing issues at red ranks. Equalize the map size, tile strength on all maps and this game will be 10x healthier. There are way too many large maps like Yamaoka, Haddonfield, Ormond, and not enough like the good Autohaven/Macmillan maps.
As an aside, I honestly feel the new map swings a little too far in the other direction. I think I have gotten a 4k basically every time I've loaded into it.
-
As a player with somewhere between 700 to 1000 hours in Huntress (2600 total), yes, please change this ridiculously unfun addon.
It is not fun to use, and not fun to go against.
It is on the same level as moris and keys. If someone has either of those offerings/addons, it doesn't feel like you were beaten by someone better, but by busted game mechanics. Sorry to those who enjoy using Iri Heads, but this game will be much healthier with Moris, Keys, and Iri Heads being changed.
-
Only regarding the nurse games: I watched every single game they played against nurse. The level of play from all but 1, maybe 2 of these nurse players wasn't even close to red rank skill. It was like pros against beer leaguers. Just based on that I don’t put much stock in the rest of the experiment.
That said, while much in the game has changed, the fact that survivors are able to end games quickly has not.
The major issue with the game (besides maps), is that one mistake or misplay by the killer means a loss against competent survivors (or even incompetent survivors if they just spread out and one survivor has a good first chase).
While I definitely respect the effort out into the experiment, what I'd really like to see is one great red rank killer going against 4 great red rank survivors. That would actually show the game's imbalance.
-
The people saying self care is a useless perk are the same ones who are absolutely useless in the end game because they can't find a heal at a critical moment of the game.
The people saying self care is a useless perk are the same ones who only stick to the absolute safest areas of the map while injured and not getting healed. Smart killers don't waste time in those areas, so even if you aren't getting downed in that time, you aren't helping your team nearly as much as you think.
While having a teammate who only self cares in the corner every time they are injured is certainly not good, it is preferable to a player who has no idea how much utility a perk like self care still has. I'm much more likely to be saved in the end game by the former player if I'm on the hook than the latter.
-
Bugs should be fixed, of course. And I definitely feel for console nurse players. For them, the old nurse basekit should be reversed. But for PC players nurse is still a top 2 killer. Old basekit nurse was better and more consistent than any other killer in the game. People who want that back simply haven't played against/as a really good nurse player.
While many people have stopped playing nurse, others have now begun playing her much more (like me), because now it doesn't feel like a 4k is the default result if you are good. Now it actually feels like there are 2 sides, rather than the nurse playing a single player game.
-
Not a great example video.
While it is obvious that most maps are survivor sided, this new map is not. It's actually probably a bit killer sided. If gens aren't going super fast on this new map, it's probably going to end up being a 4k.
And while Gen speed may seem like the culprit behind why the killer role is stressful, it really isn't. On the live servers I don't think I have had a single game as killer that hasn't ended as a 4k (or 3k with hatch escape) on this map.
What we should be asking for is a standard size that is adhered to for all maps. I shouldn't load into Ormond as killer and have a very small chance of victory, just as survivors shouldn't load into this new map with a very small chance of victory.
It is so frustrating that people are missing the forest for the trees. If the map is a decent size, generators can be effectively defended, which can lead to longer games. Making all maps similar to the best Macmillan maps would balance this game SO much more than changing Gen times.
-
They obviously have no intention of fixing the maps. They've never given a definitive answer despite the topic being brought up constantly.
Quite sad, really. If there were a standard size for maps the enjoyment many people would get from every match would skyrocket. And I'm sure many regions would get more killers playing which would definitely help queue times. I, too, would like to play survivor time, but I'd rather play 2 to 3 killer games in the time it takes to play one survivor match.
It is kind of amusing seeing people say maps aren't an issue, though. Makes it easy to tell who has only ever played survivor and/or has never played at high ranks.
-
I only play her now because she's not super overpowered anymore. That should give you your answer. She still has the potential to snowball games very quickly.
Her main weakness now is literally every other killer's weakness: big, awfully designed maps like Haddonfield, Yamaoka and Ormond.
On console? Yes, of course she isn't that good, I'd imagine. But on PC? She's a top 2 killer still even after the devs "destroyed her".
-
The biggest balance issue in the game right now, and the devs seem to not care or be unaware of how frustrating the awful maps are to play on.
Then again, it isn't very surprising. They reworked the preschool map, which was awful, into 5 not-as-bad but still pretty bad versions of that map, and called it a map rework. Their latest map is an equally terrible version of Yamaoka. I have no faith in their map team. While I do enjoy looking at the maps, balance seems to be the last thing considered when making maps.
Ever tried facing 4 good survivors on Ormond? The devs obviously haven't.
After Deathslinger comes out their next update should only be fixing all the unbalanced maps and the numerous bugs that keep popping up. Yes, sure, I'm aware there are different teams working on different things, but it seems the map team needs some desperate help.
-
Billy stomps noob survivors hard, similar to Oni. If even one survivor is not very good on your team, you will lose against a good billy.
He can certainly be frustrating to play against, but that's more due to how many bad survivors there are even at high ranks. It's never fun running a billy for minutes at a time and then your teammates go down the moment they are found.

Who cares about 1 game? Do the same as the korean streamer, 100 games and 400 kills mkay?
Funny you mention him. He believes nurse is still top 1 or 2.
I know that I'm having much more fun playing nurse, who is a much more balanced killer than she was.
If they fix the bugs and awful maps she would be consistently seen as top 1 or 2 again.

Even with Oni or Billy or other strong kier's, you have to slug at high ranks. It's not possible to win against a good team otherwise.
Whoever designs maps for this game is just so fantastically bad at what they do. That's the real problem with this game; terrible, terrible map design. It's not balanced in over 90% of cases, with the majority of those cases favoring survivor.
But I doubt they'll fix maps. Devs/community managers never engage in real, substantive discussion at length on the forums when its pointed out that the map design is so bad. Maybe they're not allowed. Fine. But it doesn't change the fact that the map design from a balance perspective is the real reason this game is so terribly imbalanced.
And we know that so far they're mostly interested in band-aid fixes. That's what the BL nerf was, after all. They decided to rework Lery's, for no good reason, instead of reworking the broken disaster that maps like Haddonfield, Rotten Fields, Thompson House, Cowshed, etc, are.
Exactly. You just have to look at their rework of the Badham preschool to see just how bad the map design is.
They took one absolutely awful map, and changed it into 5 awful maps. The fact that they call that a rework is baffling.
-
The funny thing is, the thing that needs the nerf is the insane speed at which slugs can be picked up. If I kill a Survivor basically right next to another one, I should benefit from that. Instead, that first survivor can be picked up almost instantly.
-
Bbq, Pop, nurse's calling, bamboozle
-
Demo: not weak, doesn't need a rework. If you aren't hitting your shreds or using portals effectively, that's on you.
What does need to be changed is his addons. His only worthwhile addons are the yellow and brown shred recovery ones.
-
If new ruin was an entirely different perk I would use it occasionally on pig/doctor. As it is now it does nothing to help killers in the early game which is when they need help the most. As it is now, the change to ruin was extremely tone-deaf by the devs.
The frustrating part is though, is that I've been 4k'ing almost all of my games since the change because matchmaking is an absolute joke. As a rank 1 killer if you go up against 4 equally skilled rank 1 survivors, you have to outplay them severely in order to win.
But I guess this is how the devs want to balance the game? Dilute the ranks so balance means nothing?
-
Many Korean survivor players are using VPNs to go to the Japanese server because there aren't enough killer players on the Korean server. It's not good.
-
@thrawn3054 said:
This is a terrible idea. He literally wants to force survivors to run at the killer. Stealth play is already not rewarded as it is. His idea would actively punish it.
Stealth play is massively rewarded if you are good at it (not hiding in the corner of the map and letting your team take all the aggro).
-
New ruin is good for pig if the totem doesn't get destroyed (lol), and that's about it. It makes survivors choose between finishing the Gen and screwing over their teammate with a trap on their head, or not doing the Gen and letting it regress quickly. But again, that requires the totem to not be found (lol).

No point playing spirit right now while the sound is so busted.

He hit at least four??? Trees or rocks outside of chases just trying to cross the map. Not talking about a couple he hit trying to curve, that’s understandable.
And I hate to be that guy but he had no gen slowdown perks, I know we don’t all wanna play the same four meta perks every game but if you play at high ranks you need to being a high rank build otherwise you don’t get to complain. It’s like if the Chiefs has showed up at the super bowl without scouting the 49ers, oh wait you mean we have to try hard to win that’s dumb.
Despite the few times he hit trees/rocks, he outperformed the entire survivor team massively. To put it in different terms, it was like Otz was playing at a master level, and the survivors were plat. Not even one survivor showed a good play in that game, and yet they almost won. That's troubling. If even one of those survivors played like a red rank survivor, he lost that game.
-
Those survivors got manhandled super hard. He played at a much higher level than them the entire game, and yet if he made even one more mistake in the early game, it was entirely possible that all or almost all of them could have escaped.
First, devs need to fix the many awful maps (why is Yamaoka still a map...?), and then go from there. He would have been able to pressure them better on some of the decent maps. On Yamaoka, even though he destroyed them, and played leagues better, they still nearly won. And they did nothing special that game. If matchmaking gets fixed, that kind of game will be the norm in every red rank game. Imagine if he wasn't billy.

early game is absolutely useless, and late game is gone.
You guys made some awesome things to the game during the years, but that move was a bad idea imo.
This perk is unusable unless you play at lowest ranks with casual gamers.
These days that's every rank, thanks to how messed up the matchmaking is. I played like 15 games today as killer at rank 1 and more than 50 percent of the survivors I went against weren't in red ranks.
So even if they release stats of how the new ruin is performing, I wouldn't trust it. I'm 4k'ing almost every game due to matchmaking diluting the ranks. I'm playing against players that should not be going up against me. One of the games had a brown rank 19 claudette who had only 2 level 1 perks. Easy 4k.
-
This is quite evident if you watch Peanits' stream. He isn't a bad killer by any means. Probably should be around high purple/low red ranks. But even with the new ruin he is getting his fair share of 4k's at rank 1.
I would say I'm getting 3k-4k's in 80-85 percent+ of my games since the ruin nerf, at rank 1 (I never slug the last survivor for the 4k so they often get out through the hatch). Yet if matchmaking were actually working well, that number would be much lower. So many of my games, and so many of Peanits' games had survivors who look like they just started the game recently.
And then he says things like "most survivors are like this" when his chases last 10 seconds because the claudette he is chasing runs into a wall after being hit, or away from a pallet.
I'm tired of the easy games. It's a waste of addons to enter a game and know that the game is won after the first down, even with the awful new ruin, because the survivor(s) don't know how to look behind, run away from pallets, etc. The frustrating thing is, due to how absolutely awful the matchmaking is right now, the stats that show how much ruin affected games won't be accurate. I'd even bet that the kill rates will go up since ruin was nerfed because basically 3 out of every 4 game is a matchmaking joke.
And, if they do manage to get matchmaking working, so that true rank 1 killers will be facing true rank 1 survivors, maybe then the devs will realize that something needs to be done with the balance. I'd say equalizing all the awful maps would be a start, and probably make so many people happy.
I know this probably seemed like a lot of complaining. I love the game, but am pretty frustrated recently with how the devs keep making awful maps (the last one is an absolute joke - do the devs even know that lockers don't spawn in not only the middle of the map, but in one other entire section of the map. As if that map already isn't a huntress killer.) Also, with how bad matchmaking is. And all the bugs that keep popping up. It seems like there is a new bug in every game I play.
And then I see Peanits on stream acting as if the games he is playing in are what actual rank 1 games are like. They aren't, and it's pretty frustrating for killer players to hear that everything is perfectly fine, and that he prefers the new ruin, when most of the games I watched his play (I only watched yesterday, to be fair) were against complete potatoes that the best killer players could beat perkless.
To get a bit back on topic, even at rank 1 there have been decent numbers of survivors that you look at think 'did you borrow someone's account?', but the awful matchmaking recently has amplified it so much. These days it is like playing against easy bots.
-
Strongest if you are really good at the game: Nurse, Spirit (if sounds are working, which they aren't so often).
Strongest if you aren't that good at the game: Freddy, Billy
Strongest if the survivor team gets terrified when the first player goes down: Hag
It's pretty funny seeing all the nurse mains in different threads claiming she is so weak and busted now, when, regardless of how fun she is, she is still top tier. Before the nerf I never played her. Too easy to win as. Now I've been playing her much more. It actually feels like an accomplishment if you win with her now, rather than before where it was 4k after 4k.
-
I didn't play her before the nerf due to how overpowered she was. She is still top tier, along with spirit, and I'm actually enjoying playing her now that she isn't grossly overpowered. I actually feel satisfaction when I do well now.

I guess I'm sorry I can hit my skillchecks?
New ruin cost me the entire gen in the Thompson house. Pushing survivors off of almost done gens is key to using it effectively while you can.
Such a weird thing to lie about. No. No one hits every great skillcheck 100 percent of the time.

It would have regressed 50% slower, I would've came back to a gen that still had half progress, and I would've finished it since I can hit my greats.
No one is capable of hitting 100 percent great skill check all the time. The times you missed great checks with old ruin, especially early game were much more valuable than most situations for new ruin.
No one looks for new ruin, too. What's the point? Just do the Gen. Survivor skill floor is at an all time low, and it's so disappointing.
With old ruin, even if it was destroyed early, it most likely caused a few skill check regressions.
-
That's the devs solution to game balance. Rather than balancing for the best players they are just trying to put everyone together in the same ranking.
Killers having trouble because of the ruin nerf? Just cover up the problem with shoddy matchmaking and playing against low rank SFWs every game and the kill ratios will still be high! Problem?! What problem??
I played about 15 killer games today. Rank 1. Almost every single one was 4 kills. And so many games had low rank survivors in them. It's too easy, and that's not fun.
-
Why don't we make it so whenever she raises her hatchet several trees randomly sprout up in front of her, no matter what the map is. That's about as good an idea as the OP's idea.
Although, I must say it already feels like this on some maps *cough* sheltered Woods *cough*

God, I completely forgot about the horrendous map of which is Ormound. Also, I totally agree. No map should provide favoritism to either side. We need to see multiple map updates, PER update. Get these level designers to make some changes, before releasing new ones.
Until the maps get updates, I don't want to play some "dice rolling" simulator that has a high potential of predicting game outcomes because of what maps I get.
I wouldn't put too much faith in their level designers. Before the Lery's rework they released that 2nd Yamaoka map. Not good.
-
The number of absolutely horrendous maps is possibly the biggest balance issue in the game, and it is beyond frustrating that the devs just...aren't aware? don’t care...?
1 or 2 map reworks every 6 months(?) or so isn't good enough. Especially after the ruin nerf, if you get Haddonfield, Yamaoka, Ormond, etc, and the survivors and killer are both equally skilled, the survivor team has to be outplayed severely for the killer to have a slight chance to win.
-
Does no one realize this is a joke/bait post?
-
I play both sides. 2k+ hours. Rank 1 both sides. Very good at both roles.
The skill floor for playing survivor is hilariously low right now. With no reason to not just do the first Gen you see, the fact that they go so fast means now the killer has to severely outperform the survivor team in order to win. Especially on a big map, if your survivor team loses, you got outplayed hard.
As killer, it is rather frustrating knowing that if I am even a little slow on my first chase, my chances of winning all but disappear. And with all the godawful maps, simply dropping pallets immediately is enough to extend the chase long enough to win the game for your team if they just do gens.
If you are a true red rank survivor, unless you get unlucky map rng or make a huge mistake (or go against a godlike spirit/nurse), you are able to run the killer for the first 3 gens.
I've been 4k'ing a lot as killer, even without ruin. Know why? The vast majority of my games have been filled with survivors that either don't deserve to be in red ranks, or are part of an SWF. Even without ruin, a true red rank killer will stomp these kinds of teams. But these games are not satisfying. I don't want to win because the survivors are potatoes. I want to win because I outplayed similarly skilled players.
I feel like this is how the devs are intending to "balance" the game? With terrible matchmaking and a rank reset that allows people to stay in red ranks when they shouldn't be.
That being said, I was not opposed to ruin being changed. But they changed it from a perk that helped early game (which it needed to be) to one that helps late game if the survivors managed to 3-gen themselves AND somehow couldn't find the totem until late game. It is mind-boggling that the balance team thought this would be a good decision.
All that being said, the new ruin is low-key really good on Pig if the totem doesn't get destroyed (hahahahahah). Survivors have to choose between keeping the Gen at 99 percent, or doing the Gen and risking their teammate getting a head pop.

It would be such a shame if they nerf billy. I wouldn't put it past them to do it, though. The change to ruin makes it clear they aren't aware of what games look like at high ranks.

Nah, survivor main. Just stop.
Good killer players will still get plenty of 4ks and 'win' at rank 1. I've been playing without ruin since the nerf announcement. Plenty of 4ks. Know why? Matchmaking is a joke right now. Rank reset was changed so more people are in higher ranks. People are getting matched in games they don't deserve to be in.
The thing is, now, after the ruin change, if a killer gets matched with 4 survivors that are equally skilled, that killer has to outperform the survivors by a wide margin in order to win.

People complaining about Billy. Yikes.

People saying Huntress' hitboxes are broken have never played huntress. Period.
Agreed with everything on the list. But, #2 is definitely ping related. I've never experienced something as bad as in that clip.

Keep in mind, when the survivors are really good it makes the killer look worse. Just saying it can skew the perception. Nurse is also one of, if not the hardest to killer to learn/perfect. They also could have been way sweatier with items if they had wanted.
I think the entire idea of winning so and so many games in a row to prove or disprove this point is flawed in the first place. Just giving the response since he specifically asked for it.
Yeah, definitely really good players are able to make lesser skilled players look silly. I watched those games with that in mind. At least for almost all of the nurse games though, it was like watching grandmaster players beat platinum players. They couldn't catch dead hard-less players for minutes at a time.

This experiment was actually already conducted by Marth and his depip squad. You can scroll down his videos to see all the games. He also streams.
I'm curious if you have actually watched the games in this experiment. I watched all the nurse games, expecting to see some great plays by the survivors, and yet..there was nothing like that. All but like one of the nurse games had nurses that had no business being in red ranks, maybe not even purple. I'll admit, I haven't seen many of the other games, but just going by those nurse games, I wouldn't be able to trust the results of that experiment very much at all.
That isn't to say you're wrong in this topic.
Especially with this ruin change, the devs are going in the absolute wrong direction for balance.
On a large map against equally skilled survivors the killer will have no chance unless their first chase is over as soon as it starts.

It's a really great idea and is definitely a good change for ruin. The only issue is the map balance and how pathetically awful the maps are and how little they have done about it. They need to take a chapter off and dedicate it to reworking maps
As far as I've read from all the dev posts they are either unaware or just don’t care about how bad so many of the maps are.

I don't play spirit too often, but I played a game of spirit yesterday with Stridor on. Sounds are definitely bugged. I don't know how often it happens, but it was an awful experience.
Survivor right next to me? No foot steps or grunts of pain. Already way past me? Sounds as if they are super close to I come out of her power and swing at nothingness.
These sounds bugs keep coming back. So no, no one is "pretending" sounds are gone/bugged. They just are.

Horrible, horrible change.
Such a tone-deaf change from the devs.
Won't even be able to find games as survivor anymore because all the killers will disappear. When you do find one it will either be a super low rank killer or an actual good super try-harding with moris because that's what it will take to have what feels like a fair game for them without ruin.
Killer lobbies will pop super fast, and at rank 1 I'll still get lots of 4k's because the devs have destroyed matchmaking. Most games I go against low rank survivors as a rank 1 killer... The few games I get that have survivors close to my skill level will be a hilariously easy game for the survivors if the map is one of the large number of terrible maps.
Devs don't care about high rank gameplay if they go through with this change.
