Freddy, Spirit, and Nurse would win. They're already dead and can't be killed.
Excluding them it would have to be either the Oni or Demogorgan.
-
All of my last 20 games as a rank 10/11 killer has had at least one purple or red rank survivor with 80% of them being entirely red/purple rank survivors. I only play the game in the evenings and Saturday as I have two jobs. The evenings and weekends are the peak hours for DBD. It's when the playerbase is at its highest. These types of rank disparities should be uncommon then.
The fact that they're not tells me the game has a serious shortage of red/purple rank killers.

People were asking devs to add a short opening animation for keys which would prevent SWF teams leaving all at once but nooo!
That's all keys need for them to be balanced. It's stupid as hell when you're chasing an injured survivor only for them or their SWF teammate to open the hatch with a key DURING THE CHASE. As a killer you can't do nothing unless you have Franklin's.
Why is it opening the hatch is the only action that has no animation? Everything else like moris, hooking, cleansing, healing, etc. has an animation involved.
And yet for whatever reason opening hatches is done with the click of a button.

Do it like F13, 5 people in the lobby, each with a selected survivor and killer, and set up the archives to have a killer challenge and a survivor challenge both set. Game chooses who will be the killer randomly, and uses their killer set up. Make some offerings to force being a killer or survivor, and if everyone burns survivor offering, it would treat it like multiple map offerings, someone still is the killer. You can even make it a separate queue called roulette mode, so people who only want to kill and people who only want to survive can still do the current game.
The problem with that idea is SWF and voice chat. The killer would be able to converse with their SWF buddies.

@thesuicidefox said:
As much as I hate OOO, just rework it to be more fair.
It would be best if OOO reveals the killer's aura anytime they can see your aura. So if the killer has Nurse's Calling, when they see you healing you see them, maybe with an extra 0/1/2 seconds after they stop seeing your aura. IMO that would be WAY more fair because then it's like an anti-aura perk or at least something along the lines of Spine Chill/Prem where it's to alert you the killer can see you.
That would be a huge buff for SWF. The issue with OoO in a SWF group is that the obsession can feed information to the other survivors and the killer can't do nothing to stop that besides tunneling the obsession into a quick death.
The last thing they need is even more opportunities for OoO.
-
99% of the time nothing. As a killer main I know all too well what nastiness survivors are capable of in the endgame chat. I will only say something if they camped me through both hook states when not in the EGC and/were hitting me while doing so.
Even then I'm not going to type out toxic insults, usually it's something like: "Why so toxic killer?"

Well why is there a shortage in killers now? Back in December and November my matchmaking was fine I could play as green rank killer and get matched with green rank survivors
For a multitude of reasons:
- The change in rank resets makes it harder to derank as a survivor. Meaning more of them stay in the high ranks. As killer was already harder to rank up the change in rank reset didn't effect them as much.
- SWF matchmaking now uses the highest rank of the survivor in the group. So now a group of say a rank 2, 4, 9, 14 will get a red rank killer. This causes there to be an excess of survivors in the red ranks as many low ranks survivors are now playing in the high ranks.
- The ruin change made it even more difficult for low and mid tier killers to pip/perform in high ranks. As a result many killers have deranked into lower ranks or stopped playing altogether.
- The arrival of dedicated servers means all players will be linked to the closest server to ensure green pings. Before you could be matched up with anyone. So while pings are now better than before (on average) it also means the available player pool for matchmaking has been segregated into smaller silos based on physical server locations. Which can cause problems with fair matchmaking.
-
The issue is there are not enough red and purple rank killers for survivors in those ranks to be matched with so the game has to match them with lower rank killers for them to be able to play the game.
-
The problem is the game was not and is still not balanced for all 4 survivors being in a group with voice chat. Hence why low-tier killers, and solo survivors can suffer in the current meta.
The devs themselves are even aware of the SWF-solo gap and yet here we are almost 4 years since the game was released and still the gap exists. People are frustrated the problem has existsed for so long, especially after they have a bad match involving SWF.

This is back?
I remember one time seeing a 4 killer v1 survivor.
They were supposed to have fixed this.
Oh wow. This time both killers could use their powers too before if both did then the game crashed
As far as I know the only time the game crashes with multiple killers is when a Pig tries to place a beartrap on a survivor that already has the beartrap of another Pig on them.
The only other significant bug, but not game-breaking, is when a Demogorgon steps into one of Tarpper's traps its head becomes invisible. Other killers will have their bodies distort to fit the stuck in trap animation but because the Demo doesn't share the same skeleton as other killers the game is unable to perform the animation and for whatever reason the Demo loses its head.
-
Solos survivors? No.
A SWF group with the meta perks and voice com? Well that's another issue.
The issues with balance in DBD are the fault of three main things: 1. Solo-SWF gap, map design, and the variance in killer power levels.
-
I hope it's Leatherface and Billy together so it gives the dev an excuse to rework/update all the Coldwind Maps.
-
The Coldwind Farm maps. They're ugly.

The spelling screams kids, just report and move on to next match.
Could also be non-English speakers. Either way this behaviour shouldn't be tolerated in DBD. Playing killer shouldn't force you to deal with this.
-
The next roadmap will be revealed in the Year 4 anniversary livestream. Anniversary livestreams air sometime around the date of DBD's original release date of June 14th.
-
I play her sometimes, and I use an Xbox One gamepad when playing DBD on my PC. From my experience she's just as good as she was before, but with a higher skill floor. I'm as mediorce with her now as I was before her rework.
-
Nice post. I agree with having a positive attitude and remembering it's just a game. Don't let toxic survivor mains ruin your enjoyment of DBD.

If i remember corectly they say in the q&a that they don't want to increase gen time. So we will just get another bandaid fix.
The devs want to rework toolboxes and old maps. In the Q&A they specifically mentioned how the map design team has learned big maps just do not work in the game. Especially against SWF.
They really should have put off the ruin change untill the toolbox reworks were finished. Would have been less backlash and complaints of bias.

But those are actual good and quality games DBD isn't
PUBG is a bug-ridden mess. Just like DBD. Their launch on Xbox One was a clusterf***k of epic proportions.

Capcom would't share that property with bhvr it has a big name and brand that should avoid tainting it.
Capcom is super easy going with crossovers. More than any other video game company. They even did a RE crossover with another indie hit: PUBG. Yes PUBG of all things.
-
I'd recommend it with one warning: certain survivors in this game can be toxic. Real toxic.
I know everyone is mad about ruin but in comparison to when I joined around Clown's release in 2018 the game is in a much, much, much better spot balance wise. It's also more optimized.
I'm hoping for Year 4 the devs only release 3 chapters so they can focus more resources on map reworks and optimization.

Small possibility. Once the game gets sold to the masses, it may gain popularity and grow. I hope it does and I hope Behavior never gets it. More competition is good, Behavior needs a fire to be lit under their butts to make the work better.
Competition is good but I doubt RE: Resistance will get big enough to threaten DBD. The fact that it will cost $60 USD to access it is going to hold it back. DBD being so cheap has helped it gain new players. Plus they haven't made that many changes from the beta. Capcom's main marketing focus is on the campaign. They barely talk about Resistance.
-
@AvisDeene said:
It won't happen, Resident Evil is coming out with their own version of dbd.
No they aren't. Resident Evil Resistance is no longer going to be sold as a separate game. It's being included with Resident Evil 3 as the multiplayer mode. The beta must have not been popular enough for Capcom to change course.
So a crossover with DBD is still possible.
-
I have Hillbilly, Hag, and Freddy. I'm more of a casual player so I'm not going out of my way to unlock them.
-
It's only a problem in the high ranks (1-10) where there are not enough killers. The low ranks (11-20) are fine. The problem is even worse on consoles where optimization issues hurt killers.
-
Their isn't enough purple and red rank killers for the ammount of survivors in those ranks so the game has to match some high rank survivors with low rank killers.
It's not the fault of the MM but the fault of player demographics. Somehow the devs need to do something so their are more high rank killers.
-

I like the fact that you put a lot of thought into him but he's simply too small. It does not look like the devs would be willing to overhaul killer mechanics to cater to just one killer. That backlash from survivors on such a small killer doing such things would be immense, probably forcing him to be nerfed anyway.
In the most recent AMA MCote himself said Chucky would be an interesting killer but claimed they had no plans to acquire him right now. So the devs are open to him. He's not an impossibility.

Myers is the best example of great addons in the entire killer roster. If they mess with that they'll ruin him.

Where'd they mention a Myers update? Usually people point to him as the example of a good addon set. I can't imagine what they'd wanna do to it.
The devs want to do an add-on pass for all the old killers so every killer has the same amount of ultra rares, uncommon, etc add-ons. It doesn't mean that any significant changes will happen. The first three killers to get the add-on pass were Wraith, Hag, and Trapper. Since then the Nurse, Doctor, and Freddy got them too.

As much as I would love to see Clown given a few tweaks and new tricks I really feel like the next update has to be Legion. Everyone hates playing against him. He sucks the fun out of the game.
The next up should be Leatherface and Billy. The devs also mentioned they will be doing an add-on update for Myers.

@EverflowingRiver said:
Idk why they don't use the average of the survivors rank to find the killer. Seems to be the most fair way to do it.
They used to. The issue was that using the average rank of SWF, along with lax DC penalities, and the old rank reset made it super easy for high rank survivors to smurf. Trolling and harassing new killer players was frequent.
-
Starting at 7:20 in the Youtube video it shows tweets by a head Behaviour dev stating the following:
- Killer is anti-loop.
- Killer can destroy elements of the map.
- Killer's ability has a long cool down.
- Killer's ability has a long map-wide range and does splash damage to multiple survivors.
Nemsis from Resident Evil fits those descriptors. He's a huge monster that can break down walls and carries a rocket launcher as his main weapon.
Man oh man if Behaviour got their hand on the Resident Evil license that'd be a huge get for them.

I actually love playing as Amanda, my opinion of her movie franchise notwithstanding.
I enjoy her play style and design.

It's gonna be the woman they talked about in the archives, probably the Siren as somebody else said. Personally I hope they steer away from new licensed killers for a while
Nah. Bring them on. I like them the best. Let's turn this game into horror's own Super Smash Brothers. Every year should bring with it both new licensed and original DLC so as to please everyone.
-
I wasn't being rude @Kagari_Leha. I was trying to say that not every crossover is meant to appeal to you personally. The whole point of the crossovers is to bring into the game NEW players and get attention in the wider media. Especially the horror related media/fan cultures outside of gaming.
I personally am not a fan of the Saw series and consider most of the films to be mediocre torture porn. That doesn't mean Dead by Daylight should remove the Saw stuff. It's not meant for me. Saw fans can enjoy playing as Amanda while I enjoy playing as Nancy and Freddy.
Everyone gets to be happy! ☺️ Let's all just embrace the fact we're playing a game that has the likes of Laurie Strode, Freddy Kruger, and Ash Williams in it with many more characters to come.
I for one can't wait until an Xenomorph and Ripley get added. Chucky too!

They can literally see my icon changing from healthy to injured.
Randoms also do this when the obsession is being chased...
Maybe they were both looking for the ruin totem? That tends to happen a lot. That or they're just goofing off. Or noobs.
As for the obsession chase indicator. It'd be nice if Behaviour added chase indicators for everyone and just make those of the obsession a different colour. An easy solution that would help close the SWF-solo gap without cluttering the game with auras.
Anyone who would be against this idea must also be against SWF, right? 😉
If not I'd like to see how they'd argue that logic.
-
Solo survivors tend to hide a lot because they have no idea what's happening elsewhere or if the killer's close by. Unlike SWF they don't have voice chat which provides most aura perks for free. So they play ultra cautiously.
Just another reason why the SWF-solo gap ruins the game and why it needs to be closed.
-
It doesn't matter what you think. MCote himself stated in the last Reddit AMA that Pennywise (and Jason) had an open invitation to the game. He also thought Chucky would make a fun killer but said he's not on their list of licensed killers they want right now. The devs want Pennywise in their game and so do a large chunk of the player base.
Not every licensed killer has to appeal to you personally. As a horror fan I say bring on the crossovers. They're fun.

It was just a joke bud, I wasn't saying anything bad about the switch.
I was simply saying that compared to PC, it's complete and total garbage. But who in their right mind would compare a beta mobile version of a game to a nearly beta version of a PC game. That's just crazy.
(PS - The only serious part of this post, is this: Actions in game are far, far more toxic than any words, to all but children under 12)
Nah words are much more toxic than in-game actions. I'd rather be face-camped then have multiple people wish death on me thank you very much.
-
Well the Freddy and Hag reworks show the devs do have the ability to buff killers so we will see.
-
Yes I have depipped as a killer player to stay out of the high ranks with their sweaty toxic SWF groups. It's not fun being forced to play the same killers with the same loadouts or else you have to deal with the SWF groups saying the most vile things in post game chat and on your Steam profile page.
Now I try to rank no higher than the green ranks. It allows me to play low tier killers, play without addons, and just have fun. It's not like I'm bringing moris into every match and crushing noobs.

And again someone who acts that every 4 man SWF is a highly coordinated Squad. Really, there is like a 1 in 100 chance to get such a Genrush-Squad. I feel that too many people are thinking that the "Depip Squad" was something that is somewhat valid (especially these days).
You don't get it. SWF is a feature that provides huge buffs for survivors with no downsides. It's like the old Nurse and her addons. Not using SWF is putting yourself at a disadvantage when playing survivor. Hence why solo surviving sucks.
A 4-person SWF group of tryhards will always have more potential than 4 solo tryhards. It's the same thing with SWF potatoes and solo potatoes. Voice chat, perk/team synergy, and not having to waste perk slots on aura perks are all great things that solos can never compete with.
Even the devs know this. Hence their balancing plan to buff solos up to SWF levels as close as possible and then balance killers around the new SWF-lite standard.
For whatever reason though they've stopped buffing solos. The last major thing they did to close the gap was to hide the killer's loadout untill all survivors had died or escaped. Part of me thinks they don't want to offend the large chunk of survivor mains who are still in denial about how SWF is OP. These toxic SWF groups buy a lot of cosmetics.

Yes. The whole point of Battle Passes is to keep people engaged in your game and not other games. Then hopefully they can get you spending on MTX/DLC.
Battle Passes have never been casual friendly.
-
The Clown has:
- No tracking.
- No stealth.
- No mobility.
- No stalling.
- An ability that slows down survivors in the chase.
Freddy, Nurse, Hag, Huntress, Billy, and Demo are all much better in ending chases quicker. Plus many of them have qualities the Clown lacks.

Well I'm trying my best to spread Nancy pride. She was the first and so far only character I've achieved PIII on. I also own all of her cosmetics.

Holy crap the amount of entitlement and bs in this post is mind boggling.
Just of the top of my head some things that make SWF completely broken compared to solos.
1 person find ruin (while being chased). The entire teams now knows where it is.
2. If you are being chased, the other 3 can safely work on gens without any risk of you bringing the killers towards them, like solos.
3. Feeding information about which pallet has/hasn't been used, so no one will run to a unsafe area.
4. Is the killer camping? "Yes, gen rush boys, he's here".
The amount of information shared is what breaks SWF.
Don't need to use a perk slot for things like kindred or bond, just run the standard BT,DS,DH,Adre 1 year old build over and over again.
It's ok to prefer one side over the other, bit completely disregarding how broken it is, is just playing dumb.
What they said. ☝️
SWF is a huge buff over playing solo. Every time I play SWF with a buddy of mine the game is much easier and laid back.

Actually yes, almost every game in existence has a feature that allows you to play with your friends that is online. So almost every popular online game DOES have swf
Almost every other game balances around voice chat and groups as a norm. But not DBD. Hence why solo survivors and low tier killers have a hard time. It's time Behaviour started to do more again to close the SWF-solo gap.
Enough is enough!
