If they don't want people to be talking negatively about these things they should maybe START ACTING. Welp, guess this is a goodbye for these forums.
They can talk about these things but they aren't allowed to get too angry or imply the devs are doing a terrible job.

Is that rule for Fog Whisperers really true? Because if it is, I'll honestly never spend a single buck on DBD anymore.
According to my trusted source it is. New rules dropped this month concerning how they can talk about game balance, cheats/hacks, and leaks. Essentially they can't be too hard on the devs or get too negative. Which is understandable as FWs are meant to be ads for the game. But you'd at least expect the devs to do something about the topics they don't want the FWs to rant about.

Interesting. Has BHVR been aware of it for that long?
I don't know. But others have been aware of this exploit. Even if they knew would have they done anything? I mean there are multiple videos showing all the crazy ######### hackers can do going back years and they have done nothing. They haven't even took legal action against the public sites which discuss about and sell DBD cheats.
Other game companies will sue the cheat makers and do rolling ban waves that take down thousands of accounts. Meanwhile BHVR will maybe ban a hacker after weeks or months someone went through their arduous report system. A process most DBD players aren't aware of. Most players still only report hackers through the in-game report system thinking it will do something.
They'll probably do something now that a big video game site talked about it. But who knows how long it will take for them to fix their EAC system. The cynic in me says they will only fix the IP leak exploit and do nothing about the other hacks/cheats.
-
They said in a recent QnA stream they "won't be adding any new emotes as the added communication for survivors would be unfair to killers."
Meanwhile SWF with voice chat has existed for years and they ignore it. lol

Yes and BHVR apparently doesn't back up their data, hence why they can't give Legacy cosmetics back and why people randomly get their account yeeted.
Not exactly true. It's possible to unban your own account through hacks I kid you not. The game's anti-cheat is a complete joke. Hackers do not worry about it at all.

They had a way to ban you through the DC penalty. But BHVR did patch that after a while.
Fun fact: The man who was responbile for finding that exploit and using it to harass streamers, especially Tru3talent, is still playing the game to this day and according to a trusted source may be the one who started to make the DDoS exploit wide-known. Which itself is months old but was just not known to anyone.
BHVR legit does not give a crap currently about solving this problem. I'm not even sure if they consider it a problem. Their only responses to the cheater problem has been the following:
- A generic worded statement to Eurogamer which they have done little to repost on their main social media platforms or in the in-game news section.
- New rules for Fog Whisperer's that say they can't complain too much about cheaters. Lest they make BHVR look bad.

I've been playing quite a lot this week and have had some periods of good games, and some weird ones.
I've also noticed a handful of...quirks with the MMR system.
Let me know if you've had experiences similar/contrary to these: genuinely curious.
Prime time (evening to early night) seems to frequently have instant queues and absolutely bonkers matchups, frequently SWF groups containing players with 3-20x the hours I've played. I often get 3-4 outed.
I've tried deliberately easing up, wondering if maybe I've been playing too sweaty. It...doesn't seem to do much. However, the next day will usually start with several much easier (sometimes way too easy) matchups.
Does MMR take a while to update, maybe?
Are people smurfing?
Are a lot of people dodging lobbies (and thus I'm getting thrown into them)?
Is SBMM just not operating during these times?
The bizarre thing: off-peak hours, I tend to have longer queues but significantly more even, quality matches.
It's so...odd.
The issue has to do with differing killer to survivor player numbers during different times.
So during peak playtime hours the DBD concurrent player population is large. However a disproportionate of that is SWF. As it's only when after work and school can friends play together. The problem is for the rapid rise is survivors during peak playtime hours there isn't a similar rise in killer numbers. Hence why killers get instant queues but much more mismatched matches than they do during the day. The game has but no choice to grab any killer it can so all these SWF groups aren't waiting too long for a match.
TL;DR: Way more people than is required play survivor over killer which causes mismatched MM. People simply do not want to play killer.
For there to be perfect matchmaking would require that at all times, MMR ratings, and server regions for their to be 80% of players playing survivor and 20% killer. But the killer percent drops below that 20% often at higher MMR ratings and peak playtime.

Solo que is especially vulnerable to camping and tunneling. It's an easy win strategy vs solo. They don't have the ability to share information like SWF does.
Killer is camping with NOED and Warden.
1. Solo survivors can't tell there is camping until they physically check it out. This means wasted time off of gens.
2. They then miraculously do the right thing and focus on hens. The camped player will likely due before much is done due to #1. Maybe 2 to gens are done.
3. 2nd player is now being camped.
4. Last gens are done. Players rush for door, but killer cuts one off and NOED claims a victim. See, each of the 3 remaining survivors did a totem, but have no way to know if all the totems are done. If one ran Small Game, that one knows, but has no time to waste in order to find the rest.
5. Killer opens gate, hooks the NOED victim, triggering Blood Warden.
EZ 3 to 4k. If you throw Monstrous Shrine or No Way Out in there, it's even worse. I've even seen TotH used to slow totem cleansing down enough to force solos to waste time.
Solo que survivors should have some baseline data points. Kindred, totem counters and maybe even Alert. Then rebalance killers to the higher level of info, thus closing the gap with SWF.
That's all a pipe dream though. BHVR will never figure this stuff out. If only they had some group trying to inform them.....
The devs refuse to close the solo-SWF gap and balance around groups. It's killing the game in the process balance wise and they just don't care.

How many realms do we still need? Haddon, Swamp, Red Forest? I hope they surprise us with them this year.
Haddonfield, Swamp (2 maps), and Red Forest (2 maps). They should have been finished with the next patch but for whatever reason for the last 3 patches (RE mid-chapter, Hellraiser chapter, Tiktok Witch mid chapter) they released no realm updates.
If the chapter coming this tuesday on the PTB has no map updates or a new map then something weird is going on with BHVR's map team.

Hey Angel long time no see.
The devs don't care enough about the state of the Switch to optimize their poor coding.
I mean one of the most easiest things they could do for the Switch version would be to increase the brightness so it's not a Blendette's dream on most maps. But they won't even do that. My guess is because they are afraid of highlighting the Switch version graphics.
-
The main reason why DBD's performance is so bad is how characters and their related code are loaded into the match. The assets for every character/cosmetic is loaded into every match and then a "else if" command is used to render or grab the correct assets/code.
This is what it looks like in the code:

Then why not try to fix those issues instead of sweeping it under the rug and hoping nobody remembers?
They'll fix the issues but not until much, much, much later. Look at how long it took for the Freddy rework after his launch nerfs, or fixing Blight's FOV, or how Legion years later after their nerfs is finally getting changes in the next mid-chapter patch.
BHVR takes their sweet time to fix thing. Especially when it involves a killer no one plays.

Then why not do it for the other new releases like twins?
You know why. Their launch was a PR disaster and no one plays them. I believe they are the least played killer. But with the latest Deathslinger nerfs that might change.

I have a funny feeling Netflix declining to renew their DBD contract is what delayed Switch cross-progression.

I don't get this mentality. No one is going to stop playing DBD and try your service to play games just because they have the ST logo slapped on it, unless it's a DBD knockoff. But on the flipside, people who enjoy the DBD ST stuff may still dip into it. They're essentially saying 'no, thank you. We want less money'. Strange thing.
It's the whole point of Netflix. If you want to experience Netflix content, you must subscribe to Netflix. Now that they are making a big leap into gaming they are applying the same though process behind their video content to their gaming content.
Oh and for those of you who still think this is BHVR's fault well an entire Stranger Things game is being pulled from Steam and GOG after tomorrow.

Not an assumption at all. Fact is, Bhvr losing a license IS the precedence and there's plenty of bias against netflix found throughout the forum topics. Logic is based only what we think we know, pieced together without extrapolation. Given the limited information, it would be assumption to believe netflix is at fault and it would be extrapolation to suggest their upcoming gaming platform is the cause. Additionally, netflix may have a major ST license, but it's owned by the duffer bros.
How about we analyze all the possibilities?
1. Netflix somehow revoking license, which is not lucrative. This is despite their own game platform because money is money.
2. BHVR for mismanaging their game and the licenses thereof. They do not take good care of their #1 game, and most of their IP falls off the map.
3. Duffers intervention because they own stranger things. They have a preceding lawsuit regarding the original material and license thereof, way back when things were ramping up.
4. Simply a lack of renewal, blame everyone involved. That would mean Bhvr's mismanagement is still a pillar in this regard
5. ???
It would seem obvious to blame netflix, however, they are the least likely to have pulled any strings. Why? Because they don't pull licenses from their platform. There is countless precedence of owners pulling licenses from netflix, but there is little to no precedence that netflix has revoked anything on their platform (except for cultural reasons). In fact, netflix is in the business of handing out licenses. That is a fact. Once you understand what each company's corporate gains are, one realizes that pulling a license is quite literally the opposite of what they would do and what they have done.
Bhvr is at fault, at the very least, partially. Netflix is most likely NOT the culprit, even partially.
Your last point about them not removing their owned content from their own service is why ST is leaving DBD and other games. Netflix is adding games to their service and like with their TV shows and films they want Netflix to be the only place to play their original games.

Lol this Capcom we are talking about. And it's more likely that BHVRs mismanaged licenses than netflix revoking it.
You're wrong. ST is leaving DBD because Netflix is ending all their game licensing deals. They want their IPs in games to be exclusive to the Netflix streaming service when games are added. The games streaming service is already in a beta test for Poland Netflix users and it comes with multiple ST games.

1) Switch players can save clips up to 15 seconds, and can save multiple clips in quick succession.
2) This is a global Switch thing, not a Dead By Daylight thing. Bring this up with Nintendo, not BHVR.
The Switch's CPU is too weak to be able to record gameplay in long sessions while also running a full game.

Pretty sure it started with Team Oracle using it. Since I'm pretty sure all of their members use stretched res which I think Is pretty stupid. All comp players use stretched resolution but apparently to some deniers it brings no gameplay advantages.
-
I can't wait until the devs change how DBD works with resolution so it's not possible anymore. Just like Fortnite did years ago.

All of the screenshot teasers took place on the Church or Asylum maps. Pinhead's cannon name is Hellpriest and the 2nd film takes place in an asylum.

There's 4 in the original movie. Pinhead, the female one with the throat hole, Butterball (the fat one with goggles), and the Chatterer (the one that was the inpisration for Nemesis).
Let's just say we might see the female one at launch as a legendary cosmetic with her own voice lines. Just my personal hunch.
-
They renewed the Halloween license earlier this year. Can we stop with the doomerism?
Netflix declined to renew their DBD contract because they want their IP to be exclusive to the gaming streaming service they are launching next year. It has nothing to do with DBD the game or any other license.
-
Some of you weren't around the month long teasing and lead up to the reveal of the Stranger Things chapter and it shows. They have and can do direct teasers.
-
I'm a Hellraiser fan and it's always been one of my dream chapters. I can't believe it's about to happen.
For those of you unfamiliar with the franchise you should watch the first 2 films to get an idea what it is all about.
I am disappointed in how angry and toxic the wider community is reacting to Hellraiser though. Like as if a licensed chapter isn't FNAF it means it sucks. That is terrible logic.

I know everyone is getting all hype about pinhead but it's kinda occurred to me that when has BHVR ever informed us to a killer this early? Like they spoil letters and we know who it is by thursday with 5 days left to the ptb? The company that posted a bee emoji in a tweet right before silent hill chapter, made blight look like a werewolf, victor a wendigo, and teased the survivor instead of the killer for all-kill just straight up told us the killer 5 days before the ptb no strings attached? That's not even taking into consideration the pinhead license was in a lawsuit until a little while ago and we still don't know what the red herring post was about. Anybody else not convinced or am I alone in this?
They did the same ######### with Stranger Things, Halloween, and Nightmare on Elm Street. Oh and for the Silent Hill chapter they had an in hindsight obvious tease with the shape of the 4 matching the head of Pyramid Head.
Now just because this seems new to you or too obvious doesn't mean it's all nothing. For Trickster they pretended on Twitter to be a Korean multimedia company. Which is something they never did before to tease a chapter. And that wasn't all a troll op.
In Hellraiser you summon the cenobites by solving a puzzle box. Once solved the box plays some music and the 4 cenobites arrive at your location to take you to hell.
The puzzle (teasers) have been now solved so we should expect a trailer tomorrow.

The S was on Disturbed Ward, and the H on Dead Dawg. I'd say that the priest thing may be a stretch, but it's plausible otherwise.
The H was not a tease and they even confirmed it in a twitter reply. Though you are right with the letter S.

It's Pinhead.
The letters are spelling out Hellraiser.
They added a screw/pin to the target wheel when it's not there in-game.
All the teaser images take place on the Chapel map and Pinhead's official name is Hell Priest.
Ace in the cage is meant to represent Frank Cotton being trapped in hell. Frank like Ace is a gambler, ladies man, and all around scumbag.
The top image is how it looks in-game. The bottom is how it looked in the letter E tease:

How would any of those do anything though? There’s only like 2 that he could get.
-Nurse levitates
-Wraith can go invis
-Freddy can teleport (so can nurse technically)
-Super human strength is present in perks already so not good enough to be a power
-mind control would be game breaking and too OP
-doctor, need I say more?
all his powers are already present in the game besides bees, so unless BHVR comes outta left field Candyman dosent really have any powers besides bees
Well I mean what was unique about Trickster? He's just a mix of Legion, Plauge, and Huntress. Nemesis's tentacle plays similar at windows and pallets like Huntress/Pyramid Head.
Every killer in this game shares abilities with other killers. When has this ever been an issue before?

- Levitation
- Invisibility
- Teleportation
- Summoning and controlling bees
- Super human strength
- Mind control
- Hypnotisation
- Causing Madness and Hallunications
Dude is more similar to Dracula, Sadako, and Freddy than other more human slashers.

We've been given 3 licenses in a row before, whether we get another license after this does not matter.
In fact in most cases the crossovers came in groups:
We saw Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Nightmare on Elm Street, and Saw in one batch.
Then we had Evil Dead, Ghost Face, and Stranger Things in another batch.
And now for 2021 we've had Crypt TV, Resident Evil and maybe another slasher/ghost series that shall go unnamed.
Only Halloween, Left 4 Dead, and Silent Hill were released alone.
So even excluding the upcoming CH21, out of all licensed chapters 8 out of 11 or 73% of them were released in batches.

He'd be a cool killer and totally belongs in DBD. And he's coming real soon. 😉

I’m gonna get right to the point. It’s hands down either candy man or springtrap, but I’d assume it’s springtrap honestly. Not to bash Candyman of course, but it seems more like springtrap will be new killer. Here’s why I think this way:
-In some livestream (I can’t remember which one, please forgive me) it was stated that the new killer would have a unique pallet and breakable wall animation. Springtrap is a corpse-robot hybrid. He won’t be able to break pallets with two kicks like most other killers, and the same can be said for breakable walls. (Also Candyman would be able to break walls/pallets easily with his feet.)
-He’s one of the most requested killers for DBD! While yes apparently the more people ask for something in DBD, the less likely it is to be added, but come on, the signs that that may not be the case is brighter than the lights on tricksters stage!
-Scott is a troll sometimes. He said that there was no FnaF collabs this year, he also stated fall guys and another game, so he may have been telling the truth. The truth being there’s no collabs with fall guys or among us I think it was.
All in all, both killers are welcomed by me! I’d love to see either of them in the game. (As long as there arn't any game breaking bugs 😜)
I would just like to say it would be out of character for Candyman to kick pallets and gens. He for sure would instead use his hook. Candyman is not one for doing physical things. He's a ghost who will simply teleport behind you and gut you. He doesn't kick or punch. Nor does he chase people.
So yes he would have unique pallet breaking, gen kicking, and pickup animations.

I shouldn't be at an enormous disadvantage for daring to not play on PC.
Console players have always been treated as second-class.
Xbox Series S/X and PS5 players are having a significantly better experience than low end PC players you know? The game isn't optimized on PC. The limited graphic settings help mitigate the poor code, but only so much.

SteamOS uses something called Proton, which converts Microsoft Windows games into Luinx versions. DBD technically does work and boots. The issue is EAC does not currently work with Proton and upon booting DBD you'll get an error.
Valve did say they are working with EAC and other third party anti-cheat & DRM to fix this before the Deck releases.

Oh honey, you sweet naive child. The fix required to solve the freezes on HDD machines requires redoing some of the older spaghetti code. Really everything to with achievements, status effects, and killer assets. Like what they have done with the lobby, server, and menu/UI code in the past. And remember how long it took to get all those done?
I'm sure they will lessen the freezing issues and frame drops but a complete fix won't happen until probably next year.

More people than usual are playing killer due to the event cakes. Plus the most recent chapter added a popular licensed killer with Nemesis.
Once the event ends, queue times should revert to how they were before the RE chapter.
