  • Potatoes survivors: are learning to play

Baby killers: are learning to play

Point made. Votes up ppl. :)

  • Yeah, that i agree. You bring the survivor faster when go backwards cause you add the reeling speed plus your backpedal speed. Its sweet to avoid bodyblocking and to bring them out quickly from behind a LOS blocker.

  • Extra BP are fine. But the main use is to help locating other survivors and keep pressure.

  • @Kebek said:

I've played him basically only him since his release (since I for some reason love his gameplay even thou I don't really like shooters) and I'd say probably 3 things that I noticed during that time help me the most. Ofc I play red ranks and unfortunately you'll get game with really good survivors where you're not doing so hot and you'll lose but that' life of red rank killers, happens with every one.

So, the first most important thing is reeling while walking backwards. If you get a hit with Redeemer you'll in about 75% of scenarios want to go backwards if not all the time (for a full pull) at least a little bit, especially if the hit survivors is far away and there are potencial LOS blockers that they could use to break the chain and deny you the hit you've almost earned. Walking back while reeling strongly diminishes survivors ability to struggle to sides and makes them get reeled towards you much faster which is extremely important for long distance shots. If you have a short loop and can shoot over it, wait for right angle so that you can walk and reel easily to earn that hit.

Second is pure and simple aiming. You gotta be really precise with Deathslinger and not only at aiming right on to them but with predictions. Even with Redeemers projectile speed, some shots are just a little too slow to connect perfectly if the survivor move even sligtly to the side. If you've got time, wait and either sliglty spam the aim down sights or just purely hold aiming and wait for perfcet shot. Also, if there are not loops around, it's better to not go for a shot if you can earn it with just walking. You might miss and that can potencially make you lose a hit that you could have easily earned through just walking and slapping them.

Thirdly, it's basic killer knowledge when to drop a chase. As 110% killer, sometimes it's better to just try to go for the early Redeemer hit and if you miss, don't chase after them. You'll lose ton of time catching up and there is no guarantee that you'll even get them in time before gens pop. Learing map/loops layouts is essential to know what you can shoot over/hit over for playing Deathslinger. For example you can shoot survivors across Hadonfield fences, reel the close and get a hit through the fence. I bet there are far more much trickier places that you can get cheeky hits like that but unless by acident it's pretty tough to find them.

Overall if you want to play Deathslinger, the biggest issue to get better at is aiming. If someone was able to hit 100% of hits the are possible in every case that Deathslinger could have shot, reeled and connect a hit that would make him A+ killer. Unfortunately that's like finding nurse with 100% blink accuracy and probably even harder. You'll probably have a really hard time at first but once you get good at aiming you start to feel that he's not as bad as many people claim he is. I hope this helped at least a little.

Walking backwards makes the reeling faster? Any place you read that or just impression? I use to do that to get them out LOS blockers, but never realized the reeling was faster!

Use the pointy bit on survivors.

Quickscope is your friend. Walk back during reel.

You can reel survivors to windows - rare usability.

He has no map pressure so you have to bypass that with perks or hope for survivors stupidity.

    What does mean "pointy bit"?

My two cents. For quick shot, the tip of the spear is align with the center of the aiming. Use it to have a better notion and even precision from where your shot will land in the horizontal axis. Important to stop safe loops when you can shoot in less than one second.

  • Tks for the 1,5x Blood Hunt!!! You listened our prays. S2

And nice to know why not 2x, i though it was weird, but now makes sense.

And lets go p3-50 as much killers as we can!!!

  • I simplify as this:

The match must had achieved 5 points (each gen is a point, and each survivor killed is a point) or just one survivor left.

  • @TheBomberCat said:

My only issue with deep wound is that it's almost impossible to see anything in darker maps, and the fact you can't mend while in madness tier 3.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm, nice data. But depends on a BT from the rescuer...

  • Huehuehuehue br here :D

i made a post complaining about the thread that complains about other threads.

    i complain.

    I am getting dizzy......

  • Maybe he had sex with the mattress while watching a gorgeous neighboor? He grabbed the fence and things got wild!!! LMAO

After, he killed her. Of course.

  • For how long the stalling effects? Its an idea, but i think it should be over after 1 or 2 minutes.

Ah, and not 50% if longing 1-2 minutes. Would be OP.

  • @plunder said:

Legit Deep Wound needs to fixed. Like why do survivors get to basically run with the timer not going down. Either fix it where it has a long time till it downs you but ticks down running or make the mend really long time to justify this waste of a status effect.

    I seriously second this.

I can understand the timer not going down when in TR or when in a chase. But now you can freely run??? What kind of Deep Wound is this??? Turns the resource useless to down a person.

  • Its doable. There is a long list of VPN IPs. They should just block it. But that will also block ppl that uses VPN on a daily basis for privacy reasons and would still get a low ping. Or ppl that play from work. Etc.

  • We dont know the deepest desires of the Entity. It gives survivors a chance to escape, so if it wanted 100% kills, there would be no escape gates nor hatch.

  • They added it last year, and than took out. Idk why.

  • Im having the time of my life with him. Lots of matches with red ranks. His thing is the absence of map pressure. Loops can be cut with a quick shot (aim with the tip of the harpoon while not aiming).

  • Oh, i searched before and found another topic about it. But im gettig this also, on PS4.

Today were 3x in dif matches in dif maps and dif killers (once with Legion, the others one i dont remember). The blinding is permanent, but if a survivor blinds again, it goes away. Everytime, it were with flashlights. Sometimes its a full blind (cant see anything), sometimes its a parcial blind. Looks like it doesnt matter if the survivor got the "killer blinded" score or not.

  • This is the most correct title. Looks like blinding is somehow bugging and being permanent.

But, if a survivor blinds me again, i get a new blind and them i can see again when it passes.

This happened to me once last week. But today it happened 3x in diferent matches.

    My system: PS4

How it happens: after being blinded, the blindness doesnt go away until getting blinded again. With me, i only experienced this with flashlights.

  • Sad to know about this change....

    Tks for the answer!

  • OMG, my dream is a 2 minutes BW.

  • I felt no difference from before to how its now.

But lower sens is better than higher to aim. Im still getting the same hits as before. If the survivor is waving in front of me, i strafe aim and/or shoot in advance. As I used to play Quake a lot since 1997, where a lot of weapons are not hit scan, and I used to love hitting air rockets, maybe im used to hit previewing the enemy movement, wich is not a guessing game, but a kind of quick thinking mind-game, if the adversary had time to think. They must get that you will shot, but usually they are hit before being able to actually react.

  • His power should be some kind of stealth, as much as he is so tiny. And a jump that can go over obstacles to stop looping, but do not hit. And toy boxes around the map where he can transfer his soul when entering in one (as a teleport).

Putting a survivor on a hook is not a problem. He can do it jumping, as much as Hag puts throwing.

Should be a meme his way to carry the survivor. LOL And the swing to hit should get the survivors butts. LOL

Obviously the entity created a little bigger toy body for him, to hit at least the butts. Like those big dolls.

  • @AhoyWolf said:

How would he put Survivors on the hooks tho?

    Jumping. :)

  • @batmanscar said:

so if bloodwarden activates when the gates open and someone is on the hook , survivors can use the 99% gate opening trick and then use the last 1% to open the gates after the survivor is sacrificed and/or rescued . this makes equipping bloodwarden useless , so it should be changed to once all the gens are done , after the exit gates are open blood warden activates IF once all the gens are done someone was hooked when the final gen was done , and it would not matter if they would be unhooked or not .

    I second this.

  • They are whinies, but idk if any of them got the joke, i know I wouldnt. LOL for the house defender demogorgom thing.

I kinda like cooking also, but sometimes I just get too lazy to do that. :)

  • Nothing to do but play all the day. Let us have Double, devs.

Translation: Killers use legit strat I don't like so I rage quit like the raging child I am and am angry I am being punished for my actions. They are also using a perk I don't like because I dont want to go find totems for extra points and just want things handed to me. I am a trash player and want everything handed to me, so I just go make terrible bait posts on the internet.

    I second this post.

Sorry, take the aggro, means you try to make the killer chase you so you take pressure off your teammates.

Oh, thats a new expression to me. Tks.

  • @Coder said:

First of all, doing gens is SO BORING, also gives most killers no time to do anything. I go for rescues, try to take the agro, do totems... so I'm productive, not as much as being gen rushing like the rest of the team, but at least don't hide in a corner. It's just a game anyway, if I die, who cares? if I live, who cares? I rather die and have fun than escape a 5 minutes match and waiting in queue for another 20 minutes.

    There are some exceptions:

-If the killer is HB or spirit (I'm not scared of nurses and I try to get chased by them)

    -If a person dies.

-If for some reason I know or suspect the killer has NOED, I try to pop the last gen when he's chasing someone injuried.

-If the match is boring and I just don't want to play anymore (like Doctor or Legion or Freddy)

Still rank 1... this game is SO easy for survivors.

Do you do that? do you stop doing gens if you feel like the killer is struggling to get hooks?

What does mean "take the agro"?

  • @johnmwarner said:

Sure, call me a bad baby killer noob who can’t apply pressure if you want but NOED is standard now on most killers.

Multiple games as Wraith last night where I found someone almost instantly, surprise hit and quick second hit. Repeat for each survivor and still 5 gens pop with no one dead.

The math just isn’t in your favor to actually 3-hook people before gens pop. And no I don’t want an ez 4K but I very clearly dominate and outclass the survivors I should at least get 2-3

Stop feeling bad for anything you do. Do whatever you want as killer. Toxic ppl will aways whine and/or offend. Feel the pleasure of playing as harsh as you can as killer. And if they complain, so its working, keep on.

  • Imo, its a small map.

But closed maps are harder to get used to gen locations. The first time i played as survivor in thr Hospital... omg!!! "Is there any gen here???"

But after you get the tiles of a closed map, it becomes easy to find things and make moves.

  • Get away from his TR as much as you can. Get when he does the Static Blast and time the 60 seconds to be safe in his TR. In doubt, aways enter a locker if in his TR and if you dont know he has a Static Blast ready.

He is the killer you must avoid the TR the most.

I go well against him doing that. Usually get no Madness almost the whole match. But sometime he will get me into a chase and them cant avoid the Shocks, most of that in the end game.

  • Nice answers. Except for the ones that are assuming I have a bias on this. It is just a topic to discuss if the toolbox are or arent useless to gen repair, nothing more.

Tks for the numbers. But, when I get the feeling in matches, its like I said on OP. When repairing, I save them for a fast end-repair. But my goal with them when I bring them in a match is just sabo, nowadays.

But, the numbers are a point. Let me have more matches in the future and try it out more. Tks ppl.

I dont have any problems with the server here on regards to latency or anything, but recently (after the last chapter was launched, or maybe coincidence) I'm getting disconnected every single day I play the game at least once. It wasn't like this just recently. What was changed exactly? I'm connecting from Brazil.

The times I'm getting disconnected there is no change to the connection or to steam. It's a very fast and stable connection with optic fiber if anything is concerned, but either way the connection is not waving or being lost. It is something happening on the server.

Anyone else Latin america experiencing something similar recently?

In PS4, only DBD keeps saying i have no internet connection, and all other online games goes smooth. I think the connectivy issues may be not only in one platform. But the devs are still to give us a answer why dbd acts like that and if they are working on that.

  • Please, devs, this is not a problem only to me. In twitter I found other ppl that only have issues with DBD also, and all other online games goes well. At least give me an answer if you are aware of this, or if you just ignore why. We deserve.

Or if this was already told, someone link me the thread, pls. But dont just ignore my question as if its not relevant.

  • Well, you can also add that some skins are darker than others, but i am pointing others reasons why dif survivors make dif.

  • @GreenStar said:

I was playing as Doctor on Haddonfield, and all the gens were done and the doors were open, but I'd gotten quite a few hooks. As I hooked one of the survivors and went to a door, they got unhooked. I managed to down them again, but instead of picking them up, I went to force 2 of their teammates to leave, but manage to down and pick one of the 2 up and kill them. Meanwhile, the guy that I had left on the ground had unbreakable and picked themself back up, but started healing themself instead of running to the gate. So I kill their teammate, bait the guy's dead hard and down him next to the gate. I pick him up to go and hook him... and get hit with DS and he escapes.

Like how is that fair at all? I didn't even tunnel him apart from downing him first as he was leaving. In fact, I'd gone after another person, downed and hooked them before returning back to the guy, who had the easiest opportunity to leave as I was hooking his friend.

    DS needs to be reworked

I hate how DS can break the killers momentum and there was no tunneling, or whatever. Just a survivor abusing the perk's funcionality.

There are many god loops still in the game.

many survivors play so cheap these days.

    On Ironworks for example,

what do you do when the first thing they do after they spotted you is just running to the main building god loop?

Is that fun? Haha, Now you cant do anything but follow me around this building for 1 minute. And if you catch up im gonna use Deadhard to get to another pallet. I am sooooooo good at this game.

literally impossible to win on these maps if all survivors know this spot.

They will take the speed of first hit to go for the god loop and its gg ez

This is like being morid imo because therey little counterplay to it.

I learn as killer when they god loop me. Then, as survivor, i do the same to the killer. So, i dont get nervous. Sometimes the best thing tough is to give up and get that survivor in a better spot. And also, depending on the killer, you can render useless those god loops.

    But breakable walls are coming...

  • Oh, i run thinking about scratch marks. If im not sure the killer is on the other side of the map or in a chase, i dont run. Specially near to walls or trees, if there will be a scratch mark not only in the floor, but somewhere the killer can see from far away, i avoid running.

I try to predict when i can leave scratch marks and they will not bring the killer to me. And im good with that. Cause I play both roles and since Fixated made me have an even better notion. :)

Good luck and have fun in your matches.

  • Yeah, I'd like a meme for when im walking and another survivor just runs towards me killing all my stealth if the killer comes... LOL

But sometimes I do that to others too. LOL Not to expose them, just because I think walking isnt required at that moment/location and I want to get past there.

Something I do when unhook someone that begins to walk is to run to another way, so the killer will see my scratch marks and come after me. But as i am not injuried, i can just hide with the heads up i have.

  • What means "proc"?

  • There is no reason for no backwards compatibily for PS5-PS4. The game core will still the very same. It doesnt use all PS4 processing power already... as we can see at the low fps. They wouldnt make a improvement for the next generation, for sure, as they dont optimize for the current. So, the same program, just in a PS5 instead of a PS4.

But, i wont buy a ps5 so early, them... i dont really care... :)

  • If the scared crows by the shot activates the Spies, i think its a bug. Its not supposed to trigger it.

Try it out at the beggining of the match, as much as there will not be a survivor close.

  • Thana + DL is a great slowdown combo when the stacks are high.

Furtive Chase I didnt see until today a good use for it with any killer. Dont know how it should synergyse with Thana and DL.

  • Its a tendency in forums ppl be rude. Sadly...

  • @Arbmos1998 said:

Honestly probably the best $4 i've spent on this game. Ghostface and Spirit are probably the best DLC Killers hands down. I love Ghostface because you can play a lot differently than Chase, Hit, Chase, Hit while being looped. I love that you can have no TR, hit someone, let them run off and heal, find someone else, hit them and then try and find people healing and get quick downs, I also rarely use Stalk and when i do it's mostly because they are way out in the open and i know i can hit them but even then i still rarely use it. You could take Stalk away from Ghostface and it would be an issue to me at all.

As this Killer i genuinely feel like i am the Power Role because even against high rank players i still have a chance at winning and thats what this game needs more of. Viable Killers.

I've played 4 games today in a row with Ghostface and had roughly the same results each time 4 man 5 gen, 4 man 4 gen and nothing lower as well as 2 pips each time.

I really hope this Killer does not get nerfed because honestly him and Spirit are probably the last bit of fun i have in this game, taking that away from me i may just need to consider moving on to other games.
