  • Yes the whole span of time before undying was introduced was just a series of 5 minute games.... Oh wait it wasn't. It was just normal dbd aside from needing BNP disabled until it can be reworked. With that being said totem spawns are horrible.

Tbf almo and peanits have their own streams and they do around the campfire streams fairly regularly. Doesn’t mean they are good but they do play it

They play it yet are blissfully ignorant on the issues people have. Its not even that they don't have a sense of direction it is the QUALITY CONTROL aspect that is worst of all. That don't mean logging a thousand hours but game testing is pretty damn important and is something everyone else seems to do but this company. All they have to do is do specific goals for testing to see issues and look out for others. If that was done there'd be NO WAY that a blatantly obvious issue like hit boxes would slip through the cracks.

  • Its not. They didn't listen and did it anyways. People make it sound like there weren't concepts made for how to make the UI better and what specifically are the issues with the UI. Things that are easily fixable. Me personally the animation flaws combined with the terrible UI that makes scores tiny/screen cluttered/######### hook counter for killer, and the bugs (I will NOT play with these ######### map bugs) are why I won't play. Calling it crying to criticize the way they went about it is immature. Yes people will say something if something they spent money for doesn't meet their standard. The one thing that can be said is that the UI is just a last nail in the coffin for some on top of a mountain of other issues that get sidelined or handled in a way that satisfies literally no one on the game. Just another example of being out of touch with the majority of players regardless of platform.

  • How about you stop oversimplifying it and ignoring the issues?

  • Maybe it's just you. Plenty of people did fine without undying ruin in the long span of time after ruin was changed.

  • I love that the bus on autohaven is now a safe loop that survivors can use but killers hit a invisible wall.

The standing one is the only one that might be a downgrade but I love how the cosmetics don't stretch anymore and how fluid the characters feel before and after they get into that stance. If you think someone standing straight up is unnatural I don't know what to tell you. It feels that way because we're not used to it. Of course it's gonna seem unnatural.

The way they stand dont reflect that they are in a supernatural realm where a killer is trying to murder them is what i mean. There is no anxiety, alertness or fear in the body language. They stand like they are in JROTC inspection lol.

  • They dont look natural esp. The standing one. They shouldve spent more time on it and taken into account the effect om gameplay/hitboxes...

So because you can’t abuse the animations like before to juke killers that’s a bad thing? I disagree you can still dodge huntress hatchets you just can’t mindlessly zigzag or rub up against the killer to avoid them

Whining about jukes is just silly and if you got fooled more than once in a game thats on you. This game doesnt have dodges. You cant jump, roll, dive or duck. The movement is pretty constrained for survivor. That is the single thing that can be done in a dead zone. Usually it fails on any killer that has played past yellow ranks.

Oh my Lord someone who's not bashing on the complain train. Finally. I agree with a lot of what you said and it sucks for the people who get eye strain from the new UI but I mean with the examples you've given... You're right. Hopefully people calm down and actually attempt to get used to it before trying to burn down BHVR. Play it for a week. Don't like it? Then you can complain about it. Getting all worked up over something that hasn't been out for even a day yet is pointless.

Maybe people don't like it because they already played enough games to know what they like and don't like in a hud.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I like that it gives more information; I just don't like the positions of things.

The size of things is terrible too. You know what this UI reminds me of? Playing a game at the wrong resolution. Except I can't fix it by changing it to the right one...

  • Swamp is fine except for the bugs. The bugs mess up both survivor and killers.

  • Why would OoO change anything...? Its not a popular perk. Most people don't run it and not many people defend it either. Decisive? Sure. OoO? No.

  • Yeesh you're whining about head on?

  • The time is fine. 60s isn't much if you haven't exhausted all nearby loops. Bear in mind that will also be time getting to the survivor not just chase time. The only things wrong with expose is stealth killers that can 99 the expose. A exploit that should be addressed.

  • All I want is unhook to be taken off as a deactivation and I'm fine with it. And that's only because camping doesn't need to be made any easier than it already is. Everything else is stuff I suggested for a year.

  • @Horror_Gaming said:

So I’ve noticed that a killer can pick you up and swing out of the pallet range before you are able to drop the pallet. Was this intended? I find it weird how the killer has a button input before the survivor and makes the perk useless after the killer knows you have it equipped

That's pretty clearly an exploit or latency. There's also a video on reddit where a guy had it activatable after being picked up it just disappeared (Combined with flip flop). Overall perk is garbage because of flaws like these.

  • Shao Khan can be oni.

I'd love a crossover between MK and DBD because I want a Scorpion legendary skin for Deathslinger.

But Erron Black is the cowboy lol.

  • @Leachy_Jr said:

There's literally nothing good about it. I made a list of the issues I have with it:

    • Great fences of china
    • Great hedges of china
    • Unsafe pallets so you're forced to use windows (aside from the few god pallets)
    • These same windows are completely overpowered and take no skill to use making them feel boring to use
    • Lots of W gaming potential
    • Gens are hard to find
    • Playing survivor is unfun on that map due to reasons above
    • Massive map for killer
    • Lots of buildings makes your pathing inefficient, hence why it feels bigger than it already is.
    • Gens in hard to reach places
    • Said gens are in safe spots as there's usually a broken window nearby
    • House of pain windows
    • (The most broken one) Main building window next to basement is literally an infinite
    • Map just looks ugly and cluttered

Now here's only 4 upsides I can think of:

    • Some gens have blocked parts, forcing only a 1 man gen
    • Survivors who want to win would obviously like this map
    • There is 1 certain building that can be a bit unsafe for survivors upstairs
    • You can parkour on top of cars as high lunge killers like demo.

This map is the worst map both in terms of design and balance.

I agree with most of it but gens are hard to find??? The gens are very easy to find. The spawns are very predictable.

They do because being in red ranks, if it really does not matter, doesn't need to be brought up.

It doesn't because if you are there you can say what you actually seen there. If you are rank 20 and say that ranks don't matter with 1 hour playtime then you aren't giving a good viewpoint. The point being made is that being top rank on DBD is not the same as say being radiant on Valorant where you aren't going to get to by being boosted or because of your playtime. The only thing you can say is that it would be better to say hours instead. The only ranks that really matter are the beginner ones. Rank 15-20.

  • @Marigoria said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1919492#Comment_1919492

    "Red ranks dont matter"

    "yes I'm in red ranks"

    ???? choose one

    The two don't contradict eachother.

  • Well one thing that makes less survivor and killers is crossplay on/off.

If you have crossplay off you won't get paired with anyone who is on your platform that has crossplay on. Which is stupid. If you have crossplay on the game should be putting you anywhere you can fit as soon as possible within your matchmaking range. For crossplay off it is bad because you will likely just play with the same people.

Another thing is that the dedicated servers being bad means the pool is limited too. Their servers perform terribly and feel like you are +30-50ms on top of whatever your ms is.

For why you might face more swf than usual I would put that up to people dodging lobbies.

  • It isn't an anti tunnel perk. If a killer really wants to they will wait out the DS timer or frankly if you do good enough at chase the killer will be chasing you still after it ran out. It also only activates once and has a chance of being missed.

Now add onto that the unhook change despite all the whining is going to make camping much easier. Maybe its just me but at red ranks I encounter more people will will camp than I do people that hide behind their DS to unhook. Also more people who will whine about DS That never activated/wasn't used aggressively as a reason for losing.

So yeah, 90% good. 10% they didn't consider that it is basically a counter to camping a hook either to camp someone to death or to beg for trades.

The locker ds isn't the worst thing ever. I don't mind that. Countering totems, gens, sabotages and healing a health state I like.

Honestly it would've made more sense to make it deactivate sooner if the killer has NOT chased the survivor for say 30s. Sometimes you can chase someone and hook them, walk across the whole map back and still get hit with ds.

  • I think the unhook nerf is just going to reward camping hooks.

the fact that they make them darker does not mean "horror", it is the atmosphere itself that makes it, sounds... interactions on the map etc ... but certainly making them darker makes it much more impossible killer gameplay (I play both sides )

Lighting is part of the atmosphere. I can't relate. The lighting is fine on killer side for me. For reference I play on PC with ultra settings. My only issue with lighting is scratch marks on Ormond specifically can be hard to see sometimes but that could just be me. Hell and that issue is actually because its too bright. The lighting was a big step up. The reworks still however got dated textures that don't look good and the maps aren't interactive. Despite all the whining Midwich is a good example of at least attempting to make the map more lively but still don't go far enough.

  • @Hoodied said:

Fixing a killers POV is way harder than it sounds

Firstly, they need to give him new First person animations, which can take some time to completely do or else it will be all jank when playing him

Second, they need to make sure no clipping issues occur with the new POV, cosmetics tend to cause issues with this so they need to make sure all of blights outfits don't clip with the screen

    Third, optimization

Fourth, double check said animations to make sure no bugs exist

Basically its hard to animate stuff

It shouldn't of been like that in the first place. It was clearly noticeable and shows they don't do enough in-house quality control. Every release is broken.

  • Unlikely and I imagine if you have crossplay off you will still have bad matchmaking considering it won't pull in people who have crossplay on from your platform into the lobby pool.

  • @AhoyWolf said:

Imagine if you could see everyone's Scratch Marks in different colors, so you know who left them behind, that would be awesome!

Thanks for the suggestion that's a good idea too. I think that's probably already something that would be pretty easy to do as well since the scratch marks will have to be a different color for colorblind mode.

  • I don't play toxic as survivor and see other people do the same yet I see toxicity given in exchange. Can we not pretend its a one sided issue when it comes to 'because they can'? In the same vein I see people who are toxic as survivor with zero provocation when playing killer. So yeah, not one side or the other. There are just people that are like that from the beginning and people like OP who are part of the problem.

It is impossible to get treated like trash from a killer. Getting facecamped by cannibal/bubba is the worst that can happen, and even that scenario you can escape with 3 easily.

Also, have yet to get a crappy message after a game from a killer. Not a single one. It's the survivors that send all the messages. So your response is just wrong.

Impossible? You can literally slug someone to death till they bleed out. You can bodyblock someone in a room. You can facecamp. You can BM the survivor in a variety of ways. The survivors only way to treat the killer like 'trash' is to use a animation.

Good for you on not getting a crappy message from a killer. I've encountered just as many salty killers as I have salty survivors. I don't see why it is so hard for people to admit they're the same type of people with a bias. Clearly other people have had different experiences than you and in my case it is that both sides of the community will act toxic for no reason whatsoever just as some people will act nice. To say that it is impossible to treat a person like trash as killer is just feigning ignorance.

  • @Trashmaster said:

Probably we'll have a chinese character first, but yea sure and Indian lad would be pretty nice

    Feng Min is Chinese.

  • Most of the survey was just asking what can we do to make you give us more money. Asking about a new game and competing games while failing terribly at coding in two already... Asking about merchandise, cosmetics, etc. The merch btw from what I seen/heard isn't good quality and the price is steep for what you are getting.

    @Toblerone007 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1907472#Comment_1907472

Agreed. Not the communities fault for lack of transparancy with players though.

OP I didn't find the survey biased. You just didn't get the questions worded the way that allows you to vent your frustrations with the game. There was some excellent questions regarding some genuine forward thinking for the game's future. Better tutorials, QoL changed like perk presets, Casual/Competitive queue, communication and different gamemodes. Stuff like this will make the game so much better and it will provide them a quick metric if its what the players actually want in the game.

I too was frustrated with all the questions regarding merch and skins. I honestly couldn't care less and wasn't honest about how they can make more money off me personally. Though the fact they were asking questions about stuff people have suggested forever and have never been implemented does give me hope for this game and I genuinely want this game to increase its playerbase AND maintain it.

Well one issue I had with the survey is that for merchandise it ignores the bad quality of some of the items. It doesn't at all mention why people don't buy the merch.

People say he's the third strongest killer in the game if played right. Why so against it?

So? That isn't a bad thing. The thing that was broken about him was addressed already after he went on ptb. Also due to bugs he'll just slide off some stuff instead of getting his smack.

  • Bye you won't be missed. Also daily reminder that survivors have gotten more nerfs than killers in the past two years.

    @Tsulan said:

Survivor queues are already long. Each day there are several threads about it. Yet people cheer when a killer says that he'll leave.

    Solid survivor logic.

Yes because the person that is reliant on undying ruin tends to be a boring killer and/or the type that will get salty for the tiniest reasons. Its also BS considering no shortage of killers were doing perfectly fine prior to undying. Myself included in that statement. There's several ways to slow down gens. If anybody would like to quit when BNP is removed or iri hatchets they can close the door on their way out too.

  • @SilentHillOnDvD said:

People need to stop listening to survivors who whine about ruin undying. They make it seem like it's impossible to win when killers run these perks. I'm a killer Main and beat this combo in solos! This combo only seems op because you have survivors who hide and do nothing whole game or leave gens when they hear the TR.

Maybe you should git gud at killer then. The irony is really strong here.

  • @FrostySeal said:

Fellas, is it cowardice to talk to your friends in DBD?

The game isn't balanced around voice chat. Most multiplayer games are in a situation where the game was already centered around it.

The equivalent would be playing Among Us and using voice chat outside of discussion/voting stages.

  • Tbh I'd rather see that as something a different killer gets. I liked the idea of there being ghosts on the map as just an ambience thing or gameplay mechanic like crows/illusionary doctors.

  • Why has OoO of all perks gone on without change?

  • @Ghoste said:

I think crows are fine as is on outdoor maps. The real issue is they're practically pointless on indoor maps because you can't see them in the distance.

Crows inside don't even make sense. To make in door maps a bit more populated there could be rats.

  • @Tysere said:

I die on hook every time and don't even bother with the struggle mechanic, it isn't worth needing hand surgery over. It's far past time they added some sort of handicap/button hold system or something to this, or just have it be automatic. It serves no purpose other than to get your teammates some BP farm on you, and cause all manner of stress syndromes for your hand tendons.

Funnily enough being in pyramid head's cage is much better.

  • You can hook a keyboard up to a console. They also sell their own brand ones.

  • @Shirokinukatsukami said:

How do you even tell if someone is using a VPN.

Well on Steam you can see where they put their country and base it off their connection. Sure people can lie but frankly you can tell based on the connection if they are from there or not. A person in Vietnam is never going to play with a normal connection in east coast USA or EU. Also more unlikely its a lie when their whole friends list is from that country and comments are in that language. Furthermore probably not a lie if its not a country that has some fetish over it. For survivor its not a guarantee really unless you can confirm its not swf since they can get put in the host's region. Also there's only a few specific areas that don't have their own server. So yeah the other guy saying yeah you can lie is pretty moot. Its not hard to distinguish a lie from a VPN user.

  • I used to get them far more often. Right now its a rarity or I can't tell. I have had a few incredibly laggy survivors though that had very unstable pings... After a certain ms you should be kicked off. One had 900ms, another 300+ms. There comes a point when something is clearly not allowed. And yes it is possible to enforce that.

  • @SilentPill said:

Anybody who complains about camping / tunneling / slugging needs to go play like 10-20 perkless and addonless clown games at red ranks.

Get back to me when you actually win those games playing by the survivor rule book.

The game isn't meant to be played perkless or add onless. You chose that fate.

  • Speaking for myself I'd just rather run point offerings instead or pick my map.

  • The problem with swf is only that there is no reward for going against it. Addressing that is as simple as putting a bp modifier but bhvr wants to be stingy about that.

  • Perhaps more people would play her if she had more than retextures as outfits. Even the ones that aren't are basically the same thing. I see people play Elodie anyways. All the time. The fact just is less people are gonna play her though if she has BARELY ANY OUTFITS.

  • I don't expect individual employees to be doing it. I expect a official response. There's no shortage of companies that do a far better job at progress updates than this one.

Literally half of the perks you listed are balanced, niche or entirely useless.

  • @xenofon13 said:

Most "nerf ds" are from campers and tunnelers.

    Nerf ds! Can't tunnel properly!!

Yeah, except that there are some clear problems with it.

    1. Protects people to do things when they aren't be tunneled... Fixing a gen, doing a totem. These shouldn't be doable with immunity. Its exploitable and unimmersive. Kind of like how survivors know that legion's power can't down them on top of the killer getting a cooldown so they mend in the killer's face. Obviously referring to the unimmersive with that bit. While the rest is for exploits.
    2. It is active too long. Fair enough on it being active if you hook someone during a trade. That is a situation where a hit should happen. Its very easy to say 'hey I'm not tunneling I slugged both then picked up one first!'. There is something very wrong being hit by it when the killer goes across the entire map as say... Legion... Does a short chase, downs the survivor and hooks them. Then goes all the way across the map again... Downs the DS survivor and ends up eating it still. 60s is too much when the survivor was not at risk for the overwhelming majority of that time.

There's many perks that need slight tweaks to make them fair or more powerful. Undying is such a perk. DS is such a perk. That don't mean make them useless. Fix the exploitive bits as much as possible. The whole statement of saying 'the community treats it like anti tunnel but that's not what the perk is supposed to be' is irrelevant. It ignores what clearly a big portion of the community wants, survivor and killers alike. A deterrent to tunneling that doesn't go too far. Not an aggressive perk that tends to get abused.

1 … 3 4 5 6 7 … 11
