He does need that because he's completely broken design wise.
He doesn't slow the game down, he speeds it up since healing is pointless against him. Sure, you can argue that mending is a decent stall mechanic, but it not only hinders his power, it makes him have a one-dimensional counter (rush generators) and ineffective at what he's supposed to excel at (hit and run).
Though what do I expect from somebody that throws main around like it's a credible argument.

The devs are not capable of controlling or fixing every error. Its like a string of lights one goes out they are go out. Or if one goes out half of them don't work. They are a hit or miss. Hopefully when the dedicated servers come about, the devs have a little more time on their hands to test everything out. Instead of just patching one thing and calling it a day.

You can see the killer's gamertag just by holding down the ps button go to where is says dbd you'll see currently playing with and if the killer or you aren't offline you'll be able to see it

Use Franklin's demise, when you down someone always make sure to look around just in case and if you're lucky face the wall it makes it harder. I mean other lobby dodge, but that is not to say there won't be flashlights in the chest.

They should have it to where if the survivors cross the line to the exit gates they have a timer, but they don't know for how long. 30 seconds? 5 seconds? And if they don't leave something like the blood warden would activate...Idk just a thought....

Why didn't he just walk away from the controller or farm a little...Like he had to of done quite a few disconnects to get that many complaints. Hopefully he learned his lesson and finds a better way.

I don't mind the easy totem finds in maps like The Game or the hospital, but as of lately they have been so easy to find. I feel like they hide Hex: Haunted Grounds in the most obnoxious places.
