Will they go back to the time when they were taken or will they go to the "present"? Would this apply to the Killers too?

    Its unknown whether someone ever escaped. Too early to ask where you will end up, since even sequence of actions for escape is unknown.

    the survivors are all dead so if you escape you'll go to the afterlife

    I asked and they answered my question saying that there is no escape, you get flushed away.

    That confirms all survivors are dead and when they escape or have no use they'll go to the afterlife
