@Marvett Absolutely. What I'd prefer as a pipping system: Remove the 8k bp cap per category and make pipping bp-related again. That way, somebody who gets chased the entire game could get like 20k points in Boldness and still pip because of the high amount of bloodpoints.

@NoShinyPony What? I see a survivor emblems with a silver in evader... saying the system is broken and unfair.... where did what you say come from that? Please explain more.
@TheBean I don't understand what you want to say, sorry. Maybe rephrase it?
@Master I'm sorry if you are at a point where you say "survivors BM all the time anyway". Then there's no need for discussion. 😴
-
Guys, this player had basicly a perfect game. They could have gotten Iridescent on Evader when they wouldn't have left the match but stayed to run around the killer some more.
Is this what we want? Survivors prolonging a lost match for the killer because they have to farm Evader points? Because this is already happening and it's not good for the game. If a killer has lost a match, they want the survivors to leave so that everybody can move on to the next match.
-
If the devs changed the pipping system, we would have a better effect. I don't want to go back to the old system, because that was too easy. We need something in between the old and the current system.
-
@HavelmomDaS1 Also, out of curiousity: You wrote that you ranked up last night from rank 5 to 2. How many hours did you need? Solo or SWF?
-
Here's how you pip as a surv in high ranks: You need at least 13 emblem points. Since survivors split their work, you need at least one surv who isn't working properly so you can do their work as well for the emblem points.
At the same time, you need a killer who is so bad that they don't put enough pressure on the survs despite one survivor not working properly.
There's more to it, but these are the basics. The problem with the current system is that pipping is kind of out of your hands. If everybody else knows what they're doing, it won't be more than a safe pip.
There are also issues for killers, but that's not the topic of the thread.

Pipping is fine, why are so many people crying that much?
You are probably just not as good as you think you are.
@HavelmomDaS1 I can't understand how players can say the current pipping system was fine. Do you know the requirements for a pip as a surv in the red ranks?
-
I understand that queue times are very important but the new matchmaking couldn't stay:
New players were getting matched with red ranks. These new players are only going to try playing DbD for some matches, make a lot of unfun experiences and never play DbD again.
I also know of not-new, but not-so-experienced players who stopped playing DbD because they were getting matched with high ranks. Yellow and brown ranks totally got scared off.
Also, a lot of lobbies were unplayable due to high pings.
The old matchmaking which is now back is not going to stay forever. It's just temporary until we get something better.
-
If you are in a chase, don't run to the hooked surv with the killer in tow.
If you get downed closed to the hooked surv, don't stay there. Crawl away. Otherwise it's 2 camps for the price of 1.
Don't selfcare against Legion. 🙈
-
@Nickenzie You still suggest to give Iridescent to players who don't have any contact with the killer the whole game. It would totally mess with the ranks.
With the old pipping system, we had survs on rank 1 who didn't contribute a lot to the match, got downed 10 seconds after they have been found and survived with 9k points. Clearly not the kind of players who belong on rank 1.
Everybody is allowed to play how they want. If survs want to hide, they can do that. Players who are new to the game will start by playing stealthy anyway. But the emblems have to represent the survivors' performance.
-
As @thesuicidefox explained, you can't measure the chance of a safe rescue. It wouldn't work.
Why not simply increase the speed bonus of NOLB?
-
Guys I love you. Thanks for giving me some good laughs this morning! <3
-
Yes, let's punish those survs who keep the killer busy the entire match and let's reward those who do the easy job! /s
In all seriousness, this would only lead to good survs playing in the lowranks and mediocre players being stuck in the midranks because good loopers can't carry them to the highranks anymore.

@Orti said:
@NoShinyPony u could if your Mates are potatoes but u don't need to anyway to pip. So please explain further why u can't pip. If I really need to I can send u the values what u actual need to do in every category to get gold or red emblems.
@Orti I just explained why high rank survs can't pip in a normal match. You now named the condition under which survs can pip.
In order to pip, you need at least one bad surv who doesn't work properly so that you can do their work as well for your emblem points. You also need a killer who is so bad that they can't put pressure on the survs despite there being one or two bad players who don't do anything.
That's why you can't pip in a normal match. You rely on having a bad killer and one or two bad teammates.
If you think you just "have to know what you have to do", then I suggest you start streaming and show everybody how you just pip match after match in high ranks. You'll be our superstar.
-
@Detective_Jonathan But this thread is about what is the most important thing for you personally. 😐️

@Orti said:
@NoShinyPony by playing the game. Sure it's hard but that what the highest tier of a ranking system should be. Go and try to get to highest rank in LoL. Seems impossible for the average player too
@Orti Okay, so you don't understand the problem. I'll explain it in a basic way: You can't juke a killer for 3 gens and repair 3 gens in the same match.
The new system is not hard, it's unreasonable. I don't have any problem with a hard pipping system. The old one was way too easy and half the community was rank 1.
-
@Orti said:
It's not hard if u know how to play the game. True it could get some tweaks but not before it's established. It's finally time to seduce good and bad players like in every other pvp game
@Orti Please tell me how a survivor is supposed to get 3x Gold + 1x Iridescent when the killer and the other teammates are decently skilled players.
-
@tt_ivi_99 To clarify: Rank system or matchmaking system? (Because your screenshot looks more like you don't like the matchmaking.)

It makes sense why it wakes survivors up though
@Chi Don't start thinking about what would make sense in a fantasy game. It's only about what's balanced.
-
@VoodooTheKiller You also don't pip when you 4k 4 gens a team. Very good killers won't pip against mediocre survs just because they kill them too fast. The killers would have to play intentionally bad and prolong the match just to farm emblem points. And that is surely not how it should be.
(And you are also not going to pip as a killer if the survs dc.)
-
@fluffybunny Exactly. At the moment you need 13 points to pip in the high ranks (which is 3x Gold + 1x Iridescent). That's simply not realistic. Just lower it to 11 points and chances are good that it will work then. Similar procedure for purple and green ranks.
I'm honestly surprised that the devs didn't announce a change at this point. It's clear that the current system can't work while an adjustment can be so easily and fast implemented.
-
@fluffybunny Okay, I get what you mean.
Imho it would be enough if the devs lowered the amount of emblem points you need in order to pip for mid- and high ranks. Also from a technical point of view, that could be adjusted super quick.

@NoShinyPony I think the intent was to have killer pressuring everyone equally while keeping pressure on gens, but I don't think there is a killer that can realistically pressure both gens and survivors during chase, for instance. Not easily, at least, if there are some. I'm aware that having really good teammates will likely give me a black pip or a depip, though I'm mostly talking about having semi-competent survivors. Honestly the notches should count towards the pip and not just the emblems imo.
@fluffybunny What do you mean by "the notches should count"? The notches represent the emblems.
-
It looks like players pretty much agree that buffing solo survs + killers and not nerfing SWF is the way to go.
The next discussion is: Voicecom for everyone or more information (like base kit Kindred)?
I'd prefer to have more information. @Black_Fence made some good points.
-
@fluffybunny If you get good teammates, you are not going to pip either. Keep in mind that survivors split the work between them. Survivors are basically competing for emblem points.
You are only going to pip if you do the majority of the gens, the unhooks and juke the killer for 3 gens' worth of time. That won't happen with good mates.
-
On the contrary: Adrenaline should not wake up survivors anymore. Getting a health state + speed burst makes this perk good enough.
-
The amount of dc's is indeed worrying.
@Cymer That's surely one reason, but not for everybody.
-
I don't like that you can only start to collect tokens after all the gens have been done. No One Left Behind needs to be a valid perk as soon as the gens are done.
I'd prefer to give the current version of NOLB a higher speed boost.
-
Yes, it's too strict. You should pip with that on green ranks.
-
If you don't heal, you don't really have to worry about NOED. ☺️
-
Don't revert. It was too easy before.
We simply went from one extreme to another extreme. Find something reasonable in between these two extremes.
-
In your case, the problem isn't about SWF. It's that you got matched with highrank survs as a rank 13 player.
I really hope that the devs are reworking the matchmaking.
-
Yes, I also get that bug from time to time.
-

@SeducedByDaemonette I'm not a fan of the Emblems but that's what we have to work with now. It's just about how many Emblem points you need to pip. 13 points is unrealistic and too much.
(I would have prefered a bloodpoint related pipping system where the categories don't have the 8k cap.)
Off-topic: Please @ tag people. Quotes don't give notifications.
-
Without going into detail, pipping is too hard now. There are several other threads where this topic is being discussed already. Hope to see you there. ☺️
-
@SeducedByDaemonette Not revert. Before, pipping was too easy, so a change was needed.
We'd need something in between the two extremes.
-
I like your suggested solution. It wouldn't help in all situations but it is better than what we currently have.
DC's are already a punishable offense, no matter in which situation. Whether DC's aren't punished hard enough, that's another topic.
-
You can't tell me the pipping system is working when you have to at least get 3x Gold + 1x Iridescent to pip. In which kind of match do you think this is possible as a surv? And it's not working for killers either.
We went from one extreme (ranking up too easy) to another extreme. I hope we can get something in between soon.
-
@escape_plan Besides what I mentioned already, a lot of small bugs have been fixed. (I'll not write everything down here. Please take a look at the patch notes yourself.)
-
2.6.2.0 is the numbering/revision of BHVR and 1.57 is the numbering/revision of the Playstation Update System. It's the same update.
-
Update: Patch 2.6.2 has been released just some moments ago.
According to the patch notes, the bad resolution on PS4 Pro was a bug that has been fixed now.
I am not able to test it today anymore, but probably tomorrow. If you have played the game after this new patch, please let us know how it works for you!

Works only once per game, has a massive downside, has anti-synergy with a lot of perks if you want to avoid the aura reveal by not healing
@Madjura Several people explained in the closed thread why that aura reveal is not a massive downside. And besides the aura reveal, there isn't another "downside".

U are an example of why this game is dying, keep complain yeah then no one will play survivor.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/379950#Comment_379950
Im already rank 1. I play both roles but now later the update i can only play killer, because survivor side even at rank 1 everyone disconnect and get down in 10s
@xChrisx You think nobody is playing surv? It's quite the opposite.
And survs on rank 1 didn't change yet. These are the same people who haven been there for weeks and months.

I hope we do get a comment from the devs. Hopefully we aren't stuck with the graphics the way they are right now.
@IronKnight55 Yes. I'd prefer to not wait one and a half months until the mid-chapter patch is released (or even longer). I can kind of deal with it as long as I play surv but killer is just not good enough. :(
-
@blue4zion I know that it's not the final result. My problem is that it's kind of worse than before. I'd prefer to play the version from before the last patch and that is not a good thing.
-
@IronKnight55 @Darkskies I'll open a new thread.
Edit: New thread is here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/53270/ps4-performance-still-big-problems#latest

@RoKrueger Come on, this would seriously be a nice feature for a lot of players.

@Incirion It's more likely that you wouldn't make it off the hook.
-
@IronKnight55 If there are so many people here who don't like the performance on console, we should do it in another thread and not in one who is titled as "PS4 performance is awesome now".
Another thread, anyone?
