If the devs add survivor voice chat then they could actually balance the game around it. Right now they like to pretend SWF doesn't exist and balance around solos without voice chat. Which is why SWF squads can bully most killers.
@Okapi I wouldn't mind bringing solos closer to SWF level and buffing killers at the same time.
However, I don't think that an implemented voice chat would be good for the health of DbD. A lot of people in this community are very unfriendly and we all know how much insults are written in the after-game chats. People insulting other players via voice chat would surely lead to a part of the playerbase simply leaving the game.
-
We should get more bloodpoints. 30k is not a motivation to play a character I wouldn't have played anyway.
-
I think effect #3 is problematic. Imagine a survivor being close to the hook when the killer hooks and gets the 3rd token: Without any warning, the survivor is suddenly exposed.
I mean, there is a reason why there is a minimum distance for Make Your Choice, for example.
-
I'm not sure about removing tier levels entirely. I think letting us select 2 perks per bloodweb would already be a great improvement.
-
I don't think the perk tier levels have to get removed. Simply let us select 2 perks per bloodweb at the higher bloodweb levels, that would already be a big help.
-
We all know how much people are getting insulted already in the after-game chat. Sorry, but in-game voice chat won't work with this community. It would probaby hurt the game and make a part of the playerbase leave.
Language barrier is another issue.
Those who want to talk to each other can easily use Discord or another program.
-
Agreed.
-
Yeah, I'll miss old Freddy. His power made him weak and a rework was necessary but he has grown on me. I hope I'll like new Freddy as much as the old one.
-
@Guiltron I don't need to smoke to recognize an amazing idea if I see one! ๐
@Ember_Hunter If the killer doesn't see the pet, it wouldn't influence stealth. Even if he would see the pet, those who want to be stealthy could simply choose to not run around with a pet.
And ruining the horror feel? After you've played this game for a while, it loses the horror anyway imho.
-
@GrootDude They are so magically, they will take on whichever color you imagine, while painting a rainbow on the sky! ๐
-
I like you guys fine just how you are. I'll give you magic sparkly jewels: ๐๐

Some of the Nurse's add-ons have to get changed because they are currently too powerful. At the same time: If Nurse gets nerfed, some things on the survivors' side have to get changed, too. For example, insta-heals are too powerful as well.
I don't think that only nerfing the Nurse would be good for the health of the game.
-
@Bbbrian2013 Imho pets would be way more better than charms. Now that @Guiltron mentioned it, I want pets.
@Milo Sorry, I don't know how it is in Identity V. Never knew they had pets. If they are invisible to the killer, that would work, sure. However, I wouldn't even mind if the killer saw them and they would kill stealth. I would still run around with a pet. :)
-
@Milo I know, pets wouldn't fit but I would really, really like to have them anyway. Imagine a pet running next to you in the trials! It would totally kill stealth but it would be so much fun! Your pet could also find items for you...
And agreed, I also hope you can unlock battle passes by playing, after you bought one.

At the current state of DbD, NOED is good how it is. If a 2nd objective for survivors would get implemented, then NOED could get changed, but not now.
@NMCKE Sorry, your suggestion doesn't work with how DbD currently is. When you play an average M1 killer against very good groups, you won't make it to the point that you hook 4 different people. Your concept would work with S- and A-tier killers, but these don't need NOED anyway. It would work against not-so-good groups, but again, for those you don't need NOED anyway.
At the moment, NOED is a way to get some momentum in the endgame if the survivors focussed on the gens without paying attention to totems.

I suggest that you start playing Hillbilly yourself and try to climb the ranks with him. It will change your view on things, trust me.
-
I'd like to have a new matchmaking system. Sure, exploiters, dc's and bugs are majorly annoying but if you simply can't play the game because queues take ages, that's the most annoying thing for me.
-
Dedicated servers and matchmaking algorithm are different things. If the algorithm isn't written well, you'll have long queue times, no matter whether dedicated servers are live or not.
-
At the current state of the game, no. Killers are at such a big disadvantage, they can't win even when they tunnel, as long as the survivors don't play bad.
Also, the game already provides you with a variety of tools which help you against getting tunneled.
-
On which rank are you playing? I rarely come across campers.
-
@ClogWench Okay, I misread that, I thought you were talking about the PS4 players not being able to play the game.
And concerning the information: Yesterday, we had an info at the top of the forum (above the contest-winners-info) about the PS4 issue. That info is gone now. Just gone, but no new information. That is definitely irritating.
It looks like we won't be able to play 4 days in row, assuming this issue will be solved on Monday. It's normal that players are disappointed at how this is handled.

@Glisurd said:
Well DrDeepwound I am talking about 1-2 min more on the hook. And I recently played a bit more survivor but I see it is a problem at least at higher rank.
At low rank 1-8 I feel it can be maybe to powerful
@Glisurd I rarely see camping at high ranks. Tunneling yes, but not camping. (I'll exclude the cases where survivors storm the hook or when the gens are done.)
Camping happens a lot more in the low ranks.
-
@ClogWench But it would be nice to get an update. We can't play for two days. And the devs aren't going to work at the weekend, so it's two more days of no DbD.
-
@LordGlint Mr. Face is not that powerful. I don't see a collision of interests here. XD
-
@Ohlookahook It's not a free hit. You let the killer come too close, it's your mistake. You have to know the timing. If you don't have enough distance to the killer, don't drop the pallet because you would just waste it.
Experienced survivors know when there's enough distance and when the killer is too close. You'll get better the more you play.
I'm a survivor main btw.
-
Short answer: No.
-
I'd love to see your ideas for killer powers described exactly in detail, then we can really talk about it.
-
I agree that repairing gens is not exciting. However, if you can't find fun in getting chased or sneaking around/evading the killer, then probably the survivor role just isn't for you. And that isn't a problem, not everyone likes to play both roles.
-
@MRT464 You need more distance from the killer. Experienced survivors know "even if I drop this pallet, the killer is so close that he will get the hit anyway", so they don't drop the pallet in order not to waste it.
The more you play, the better feeling you'll get for distances and when dropping makes sense.
-
@Ohlookahook It's not an issue waiting to be fixed. It's intended that the killer gets the hit if he was close enough.
-
@Bbbrian2013 Quentin is best boy! But he belongs to me so you probably don't see him often.
-
@Peanits Are you devs currently considering the implementation of a 2nd objective for survivors? Or is it not planned for the near future?
-
@FGDandude said:
this should give also a notify to the survivers. otherwise there is no counter play
@FGDandude Keep in mind that other aura reading perks like BBQ don't notify the survivors, either.
Survivors either ignore the possibility of the perk or they assume the killer is running the perk and act accordingly (for example faking going into one direction and then going into the other one).
-
This bug occurs super often since one or two days. I was only able to play 1 match in like 1 hour because this bug occured so often.
I'm on PS4 btw.
-
@George_Soros Hot hot hot hot!
-
@Boss Do you think the devs would implement different minigames for the platforms?
-
@Boss Try doing that with a controller.
-
Grabs have been bugged for months.
-
I'd like to see a rework with a completely new mechanic for MoM.

I just suggested tetris as a baseline, something mechanically simple, but I just want something that's more interactive that m1 and occasional space. Also something that takes more attention can make the playing survivor have more skill because right now survivor has an incredibly low skill cap. And not just gens, totems, chests, and healing they can all have more interaction.
@akbays35 It's not relevant whether it's Tetris or another puzzle game. I don't want to see any kind of puzzle games in DbD. You'd like to have them, but I want a 2nd objective instead. That's personal taste.
Also, as I wrote above, I am convinced that for the majority of players, a puzzle game mechanic will get tiring soon and it would make doing gens mentally exhausting for those players who play DbD a lot. It would surely drive me away from gens.

@wydyadoit said:
I'm reading a lot of mixed opinions and views on the matter. However, I have noticed 1 trend among all the replies.
- Bloodpoints and Emblems are the final say when determining your success as a survivor. Which we all know.
@wydyadoit Yes, of course. I don't care that much about the escape animation, I want bloodpoints. ๐
-
@C3Tooth Exactly that's point.
-
You are allowed to play like you want. That being said, if you don't do what's good for your team, you are also decreasing your personal chances of survival.
Also, if you are neither willing to save your teammates, do gens or loop the killer, then the survivor role just isn't for you.
Another point: What benefit do you get from surviving, if your teammates who died have more bloodpoints and Emblem points?
-
I play solo on a regular basis and it happens to me too often that I'm hurt and in a chase and die because somebody 99%ed the gate, left the gate and I had no way to escape.
If you are not aware of your surroundings, open the gate.
-
I'm afraid that would get boring fast. Doing gens is currently not exciting, but I can live with that. Having to do the same kind of puzzles over and over again - no thanks. If I want to play Tetris, then I will play Tetris. If such a mechanic got implemented, I would probably do less gens than I'm currently doing.
I'd like to have a 2nd objective instead.
-
I have this bug occur from time to time for months, but it got worse in the last couple of days.
Also: The bug is one thing, another thing is that PSN has problems this evening. So what happens today doesn't have to be DbD-related.
-
Regarding 2):
It's not that simple. You could adjust your concept so that the difference between solo and SWF would be less significant.
For example: You suggest that each gas station has one gas can which you need to transport the gas. The survivors lose that gas can when they get downed and have to pick that can up from where they got downed. Only the gas can's previous owner can see the aura of the gas can. These points could get changed so that the difference between solo and SWF wouldn't be that big.
-
You make it sound like you don't see Ruin, BBQ, Sloppy and NOED at high ranks. Also what's wrong with going for any of the perks you mentioned?
