Oni: You're gay. There are no straight Oni mains.
Source: I'm an Oni main.

I think there should be a limited time gamemode or something where everyone can have 8 perks. Imagine the chaos.
Experimental mode where everyone gets to go apeshit

If I remember correctly, I think Otz tested it on perks and abilities that generate the TR remotely and the expose still takes effect. If that's the case, I'm curious how it'll go along with something like Dark Devotion.
-
I think dropping the Exhaustion for healthy players and just keeping it to them screaming would be better. Maybe make the range somewhere from 24–32m instead to compensate. It's definitely a forgettable perk as is, so much so I thought we were talking about Bloodborne for a second.

You thought it was an Insidious Bubba in the basement, but it was actually
AN INSIDIOUS IRI HEAD HUNTRESS

Clown. Literally nothing about his design or power interests me. At least with Nurse I can get a masochistic kick out of blinking into walls like a drunk kiwi.

An early game warmup, particularly on bigger maps, can help out the game a lot so long as it doesn't add any punishments for either side. Survivors shouldn't be penalized for trying to do their objective ("genrushing" even when it isn't) and Killers shouldn't be punished for not having found someone immediately after spawn A lot of people bring up Scott Jund's proposition, and that's certainly one way to do it, but regardless the key points have to be encouraging better gameplay for both sides.
-
Sounds cool for a separate event mode, but after enough exposure to the game, fear is the farthest thing on your mind. DbD is a better horror-themed game than an outright horror, and it would be better off leaning to the camp side of horror. The game is basically the Smash Bros. of horror icons, and it does better off as that than trying to be Silent Hill Online or Hereditary PvP.
-
Nah. Far more competitive games allow for 60FPS players to go against 120FPS players. DbD is hardly up to par for the increase in frames to matter outside personal preference.

Oni! 👹

@ me when they add jiggle physics to Oni's tiddies

A single Key, I don't care about. It's usually the last person alive holding the key who gets the hatch anyway. Keys, map, and flashlights? You're getting Franklin'd.

Bubba's gonna Bubba

Frank West and Isabela Keyes as Survivors? Sign me the hell up.
My only worry would be the map. Williamette in DbD? Oh god... just imagine how big it'll be...

I'm a sucker for dynamic soundtracks (and Spirit counterplay), so I'm down for this.

I made Oni my main mostly from the visual design aspect, but getting more into his gameplay, it's just so much fun to be able to bonk people with a club. I'm no deadshot marksman galaxy brain player when it comes to a Demon Dash > Demon Strike combo, but even when I miss, it feels fun to be able to zoom around like a motor vehicle.
-
Wait, how does everyone here know that they're going against PC or console players in the first place? I thought the globe icon just tells you they're on a different platform, not console or PC. So you could be on Xbox, see a globe icon, and that person is on PS4, or play on Steam and the globe icon would be for the weirdo playing on the Windows Store. Correct me if I'm wrong on this.
-
This would require a drastic overhaul of the perk system, but I can see it having a lot of potential the change up the game for the better.

Time to introduce a new mechanic for Survivors: punt. When another Survivor stands in your way, press the active ability button to kick their ass
But seriously, that's a crock of crap. I'd probably just whip out my phone and wait. Someone's gotta give, and as long as you don't DC, you'll get your BP.

Got me Franklin's just on the off-chance I come across the rare "bully squad".

Golden Chainsaw: Oni.
It's Thematic. It's gruesome and it's what every Mori animation should aspire to be like. I wonder what it'd look like from a first person POV
Dull Machete: (Excluding the original trio's mori because come on), Twins.
Oni's is definitely thematic AF and appropriately suits his character.

He’s just stressful to play sometimes, you got the combination of a really rough early game along with a power that can be pretty hard to land on some maps.
So if you do spend your first few generators getting your power and then mess up a few flicks, you lose extra hard compared to other killers.
Obviously he is fantastic when you are landing the demon dashes. But I can’t imagine loading into reworked “the game” as Oni and going against survivors who can loop and just start throwing all the pallets. I haven’t had it happen yet because I don’t play him enough but I know that would probably put me off playing him for a long time
Had my first match as Killer on Haddonfield with Oni. I'm decent at best, so when I say that map screwed me like a cork, I mean it really screwed me.

Finally a post for me
Where am I? Trekking through the muck of this awful MMR having me, a rank 15, going against ranks 1–9. But whatever! I get to bonk and have angy mode, so it's all good.

I'm surprised my totem indicator HUD element idea was as disliked as it was, especially since it would give the most information to the Killer and only a bit more to solo queue Survivors.
But I guess giving solo queue even a crumb more information is somehow "broken" (it isn't) and they "have enough resources already" (they don't).
-
Had this happen twice on my first game as Spirit. One tried to bodyblock right after Haunted Grounds triggered, so she went down quick. Second time, another survivor was running behind me to try and bodyblock, but I heard her loud groaning and made a quick swipe behind me, downing her.
I've never been more confused in players' decisions.
-
Why even play the game if they're going to be scared of coming across the Killer? I can get being stealthy to escape a chase, but just hiding the whole time?
I'd just turn on some Mastodon and wait until gen gets worked on.

They said the same for Friday the 13th.

They are saying the same for this.
People. Just pick your game and stop worrying about one game "killing" (I use that loosely) one another.
Maybe you can finally move one from DBD that ya'll hate so badly.
No game is dying.
God, I wish Capcom gave a toss about RE: Resistance. It would have gave a good shakeup to DbD's formula, but Capcom iced that game in the blink of an eye. There's still a few things DbD could snatch from its fetid corpse.

They've stated key reworks on in progress. Though I don't care much for them, one proposal I see people mention that could be much healthier is:
•Only the Survivor with the key can open it
•Opening takes x amount of seconds to complete
•Hatch closes for other Survivors
Granted, this could make it much worse for remaining Survivors since it gives one of them a chance to dip and get BP while they're stuck on a match, so there'd still need to be refining.
-
DS never bothered me as Killer, but this? This frightens me.
I think instead of punishing Killers for tunneling, we reward them for un-tunneling (?). Increased BP for hunting down another Survivor after the one you hooked is rescued, perhaps.

Most attractive:
Jeff – he's a metalhead bear and that's the quickest way to my heart. Plus he's the only male survivor with a bit of belly and that's valid. All around huggable man.
Oni – similar to Jeff but bigger, buffer, and menacing. Nothing's better than a 9' demon man who can crush you with his pinky. And he's got outfits with his tiddies out which is 👌👀
Least attractive:
Dwight – nebbish basic dweeb. Looks like he simps and would buy Feng's Gamer Girl Water. Looks 1000 times worse with no hair and beard
Hag – to quote Brenda Meeks, "Cindy, this is bones!"
-
Survivor:
1.) Felix
2.) Quentin
3.) Laurie (what is that hairdo?)
4.) Meg
5.) Dwight
Killer:
1.) Leatherface
2.) Bubba
3.) Thomas
4.) Jedidiah
5.) Killer #1–4 on list

Being sweaty isn't a bad or good thing. It's just a playstyle suited for different situations. Problem is the current matchmaking because you never know if you'll be playing sweaty against some newbie Rank 20 who has no clue how the game works, and in that situation, the other side ends up feeling like they couldn't have fun.
-
She doesn't need a nerf as much as a solid counterplay. As is, all ways to counterplay her are established in 1.) guesswork, 2.) perk reliance, and 3.) hoping she makes the mistake. A lot of good Spirit players have posted on here how easy it can be to fake out Survivors by just standing still and listening.
-
Had a match a while ago that confused me. David DC'd on his first down (not even hooked). The Oni went around the whole map after that trying to find the rest of us. We got two gens done while he kept running around. By the second gen, he DC'd too. It was all so weird.
-
The issue of self-care comes down to what happens when you use it with no med-kit. The time to heal takes way too long, and that's time that could be well spent on an objective. Yes, you do get to heal faster with a med-kit, but at that point you'd be better off with a yellow or higher med-kit with add-ons.
Not to mention the stereotype of self-healing Blendettes who hide in a corner of the map healing themselves while their teammate dangles from a hook.

As a survivor main (but occasional killer) I’m against having an indicator for hexes. Survivors already have enough things to help them survive. Let the killers keep the few things that benefit them.
That's why the proposed indicator wouldn't say if there's a hex or not, only that "Hey, at least one totem still stands." Killers would recieve more information.
-
I wonder how a separate mode where map offerings are not allowed would work. If the game showed what map the match will take place in for all players, that could balance it out. That way, all players can prepare for whatever environment they'll be headed to. Of course, that would have to rework the entire map selection process in the background, but yeah.
-
In solo q, you're praying 90% of the time that your teammates aren't total dodos or selfishly inclined sweaties. Playing Killer, you at least have more control over the situation than solo Survivor. Also, it sounds to me you're having trouble creating pressure and getting them off gens. Maybe try a new strategy or new Killer with better map control, shake things up.
