Yeah Boon Squad on certain maps can be just the worst to go against also here's an example of going against a 4 man SWF and all good players
This was at Lerry's and there was a boon everywhere across the map and I gave up on snuffing it. Generators popping left and right with my Hex exploding with boon notifications and played with only Shadownborn as a perk at this point, I hit survivors probably up to 50 times only for them to be fully healed in seconds, slugged people only for them to get back up seconds later so no pressure at all. It felt like a goddamn War in there. I was lucky I equipped my strongest add ons there since my gut told me the survivor carrying a map in the lobby was up to something bad and anything less would be demolished in that match. I barely squeezed out a 2K in that situation and I had to hardcore tunnel someone out because the pressure from the survivor team was nutty.

Artist is fine. You're not supposed to to 1 v 1 the killer until the game is done this is not a fighting game. With that said there's still Counterplay to her she's not as Old Legion bad character where there's zero counter play then just die.
-
Imagine doing a Fortnite dance at the exit gates. Cursed image.
-
Interesting. I'm going to do one as well might only go for 50 or 100 games though since I believe that Solo Q is just as capable as most SWF anyway.

Everyone should be allowed to use whatever perks they want to. If flashlights annoy you best cure is lightborn. Is it as good as other perks..no not really but it is damn effective. I personally use franklins but i mostly dodge clear SWFs with 4 flashlights anyways.
Fair enough. I'm skeptical about High MMR in the forums either way.

I mean killers at high MMR get hit by flashlights just as much as anyone else. If not more so to be honest. At high MMR you meet more SWF groups and you know they like to flashlight the hell out of you. Can't blame him/her for using lightborn.
Used it myself few times but figured ill just deal with the flashlights or skip lobbies that have more than 2 of them. High MMR doesnt mean killers are immune to being blinded and SWF groups always find a way to bully you somehow with them.
Because if you're an actual High MMR killer you want them to do flash light nonsense. Loses them distance in chases since you can just hear where they're going by using sounds. They're better off running immediately after doing a pallet stun, etc. Also you have pepegas trying to do flash light saves that means one less survivor not doing a generator.
Using a Lightborn is kinda questionable when there's counters like looking down or if they found out you have Lightborn they're just back to being efficient by doing Generators. Franklin's is better since it potentially makes their movement predictable and more risk for them.\
Either way I don't really run any of those perks.

Prime example of what? I really don't care if you use Lightborn. Just questioning if that's really High MMR.

If you think nurse needs a buff, you seriously failed on rating her. Kill rate is the worst way to determine nurse full power potential. Not only because she's one of the hardest skill cap killers on the game, there's switch, ps4 and xbox players who rarely master this killer. She is still by far, the strongest killer on the game.
Stats don't lie and she's factually awful with #42% kill rate.
-
Doesn't sound like it's high MMR if you're getting harassed by flashlights and you have to use Lightborn.
-
Honestly Lery's isn't that bad. I'm more annoyed with Swamp maps really

Sorry, but you can't really use kill rates as the sole data for game balancing. A killer can literally camp a hook, and get a 4 kill from it. Kill rates mean jack #########
Nah kill rates means everything hence Cenobite got Nerfed and rightfully so since he got a lot of kills.
-
The mindset between a Killer and a Survivor is so wide. A killer has to take account of everything happening in the game and one mistake = lose so you're in a competitive mindset 100%. Survivor? I'm just casually listening to music and if I make a mistake there's three other people potentially picking up where you left off.
-
You can notice how delayed the servers are in the game. Like downing a survivor and he teleports an inch away from where he was supposed to be. That's the type of robbery you get when you get pallet or dead hard validated. Though this isn't a Killer thing you can notice it badly when you're against Nemesis and no matter how much you prevault or pre drop pallet to move away. He always get you regardless because he's is seeing something completely delayed.

Freddy is seemingly the only killer I can consistently get a 4 kill game with, for reasons I am quite literally unaware to. From my understanding, Freddy is extremely weak at the moment, compared to his old states. He is, without a doubt, THE most perk dependent killer I can think of, even more than say, Trapper. Playing Freddy with no pop, tinkerer, or corrupt, feels almost like he's F tier. But playing with these perks, he's just simply good enough to perform well with.
It's a weird thing to ask, but how come survivors have so much trouble with Freddy? I'm at a lower level of play at the moment due to the rank reset, but I've noticed that almost every survivor I have faced while playing Freddy, just struggles immensely. It could be I am playing against newer players, which is why I pose the question:
Is Freddy considered a Noob Tube to the Dead by Daylight community? Because he's going in that category to me.
His terror radius throws people off and he actually has a good slow down if you use it properly. He's also the only M1 killer that can afford to overcommit to a chase for a bit because you can teleport back and pop a gen. I think that's where his strength lies actually. The ability to be on top of a generator because it makes half the effort from the Hold W meta useless since getting dragged across from the map is useless against a Freddy. He can go back to a generator and get his reward from chasing someone.
Also as a Survivor main I think having to remove the passive down time with a Killer having to walk all the way back to interrupt a generator nearly finished is huge.

Actually don't mind unbreakable,ds and BT.
What pisses me off are the validations. This kills me inside.

I've noticed when I'm chasing a survivor, they'll run around a t wall or some other sort of jungle gym during chase and I'll lose sight briefly, and I lose chase. I'm still chasing, she's still running but the chase is gone. It'll initiate again once I get closer, then once I lose line of sight without massive distance loss it goes away again.
During a chase ill lose blood lost during a chase several times. Feels broken. Like how can you lose chase when your still chasing? Lol.
I always thought distance is what determines it, but at t walls she can turn a corner and it goes away and immediately starts up again.
Either way I'm losing any Chace at bloodlust when this happens.
Also, are scratch marks broken again? I was chasing Bill through shack. Followed his marks out the door, and they just vanished. I thought boons but at the end nobody was running shadow step. It was weird. This happens a few times today.
Yeah I noticed that happening a lot actually. I didn't think to bring it up because I wasn't completely sure if its supposed to be this way so I just ignored it. Pretty annoying when survivors got more chase time than usual because of it.
This is how it's supposed to work though. Wouldn't be surprise if anything is broken in this game like how sounds are.

Why do I get the impression that the developers balance the game based on the enjoyment of the survivors? They have buffed all the survivors' meta perks but they don't think twice about nerfing those of the killers.
I have the impression that the survivors are "the favorite son of the developers" who pamper and treat with gloves, while the killer looks like the unwanted son.
Well that's probably because that's how they balance the game.
Wraith nerf and Cenobite 'overperforming' lmfao.
-
It is actually genuinely miserable as an M1 Killer and you're not A-S tier. People are finally figuring it out how bonkers the distance you can get from getting M1'd and with circle of healing this is just a rinse and repeat of you chasing a carrot on a stick. You get punished for dropping and chase and committing to a chase. You're screwed.
Dead hard validation is all kinds of dumb too, Imagine winning a mind game on a strong safe tile and you lose no matter what because dead hard. Ffs.

I think the part where flashlights affect certain killers is a bit of a reach on some. For Ghostface and Myers, yeah flashlights can affect them a little bit but it’s not that crazy, they can just look away and waste your flashlight’s charges. Also, who ever gets blinded as Legion or Nurse when they’re using their power?
Yeah imagine trying to blind a Stalking killer instead of widening the distance lmao.... Also I get intentionally blinded as Legion, Cancels his power without fatigue cooldown so that's awesome.

Like I said I have only being playing for a short while, but I get so frustrated as killer that I just have to DC or risk breaking something (very mature, I know).
But, when survivors are healing themselves on the other side of a pallet that I'm breaking and are both fully healed and have run away in that time is complete BS! If they can heal that fast, why can't I hit faster?! Secondly, the boon totems are completely OP. I am already patrolling gens, fruitlessly chasing survivors and occasionally hook. I don't have time to search for bones. Which is pointless anyway because they can just be replaced 5 seconds later!? HOW IS THAT FAIR!? Can killers replace their totems? Not that it would help because it's 4 to 1!
They're running around me like rats, UNHARMED because I swing at the rate of a F-ing musket! They already have the speed boost after taking a hit, why can't I swing again? If a survivor is dumb enough to stay that close they deserve to get spanked not walk around scot free! I know there's a perk/killer that can help with that but I don't have that many slots and it doesn't make sense! Why are the mechanics F-ing me over specifically? Am I not supposed to be scary?
Flashlights and the like were driving me insane before. Now I just have that immunity perk(Light born?) always equipped because the game is completely unplayable otherwise. Hence, I mostly play hillbilly, because trapper is useless against a somewhat competent team. They would bust my traps quicker than I could set them assuming they bothered and didn't just walk around them...despite being in a doorway.
When I lose as survivor, I'm cool with it even if I'm camped or whatever because I felt it was my fault by making mistakes or whatever. But, when I'm losing as killer it's really frustrating because I can't DO anything about it and there wasn't anything I could do. I was F'd from the get go due to survivors having all the power!
Sorry for the rant/whine but I want to know does it get better? Because right now I feel the killer's perks are required to elusively counter the survivor's perks and they got 4 times the amount so I'm never going to win.
I mean if you're needing light born to counter flash lights then no amount of perks would help you. Just improve your skill set as a Killer.

Sure, but not everyone has recording equipment.
I mean you have a built in recording for Console and PC. That's the case for my PS4(unless you have switch I guess) and my PC even then it's like a fast download to get one on the microsoft store. It's literally just a few clicks away to get one.

There is something to be said for that though.
Obviously, if you are good st the game, it's more likely you'll play against a hit squad. You just have to really take that statement and trust them. If what they are saying makes sense, and they clearly understand the game and what they need to do to win at high-level play, their claim may be true.
Rule of thumb should be to provide footage of said match as your example.

I was having fun with Wraith and thought my long dedication to that ######### killer finally payed off with that buff then he got nerfed quickly afterwards as if the Boon punishing hit and run style wasn't enough.

Only because they heavily punished hit and run style of pressuring in the game with Boons. I can probably get to 50 hits(I'm exaggerating) because some teams are just way too aggressive so I can see why the game can be a chore if you look at it that way. Also seems like you're just bored with the game. Take a break, go play something else and come back when the new killer gets released. Maybe by then you'll have a fresh mindset.

according for BHVR a victory is supposed to be via 2K+.
for me personally is 4K.
They could have won, but made a few mistakes toward the end, which ended up as it is. was it a throw, or they gave me 3K, we will never know.
But in my conclusion, playing without (meta) perks that are somehow linked with gens is impossible.
on average 1-2hooks was always equal to 3 gens pop up.
Lets also take into the account that I always had a luck, that I headed in direction which started a chase. And each chase involved DH with safe loop.
Gyms are always 50:50 you can either win by a mind game, while he jogs around; or you meet a survivor who knows optimal routed and idle and peeking corner; where mind game is well earnt time by survivors
2K is a draw and anything above that is a win. Well duh it seemed impossible to win you're going against people who know what they're doing. Again expecting an easy win when people brought their best and you didn't is bizarre, The game would be killer sided if you can win just by hold W on anyone. The game is surprisingly balanced at the very top of the game. You could argue that they could make the game better for lower plays sure but that's about it.
Maps design is garbage though.

Why apples and oranges?
This is the exact meaning of dbd state.
That whole gameflow is evolving around same things. Brand new part is always present.
DH BT DS are standardized into base kit.
I managed with a little bit of sweat I know…to gain 3K
perks and toolbox with BNP was 3x.
Where I used pig with addons that they all started with trap on head + reduced timer.
save the best for the last, rancor, spirit fury? and nemesis
So you got a 3K by playing optimal? That would be considered a win? Thought a killer have a good chance on winning when Killers are playing optimal when you're not abiding by the survivor rule book anyway. Expecting an easy win when the other team brought their strongest build and played efficient when you didn't bring anything strong is a bizarre mindset.
-
So the survivor's brought their strongest builds and you're surprised you lost with amazing fashion when you didn't bring your strongest build too?
I mean I get that game is unbalanced on High MMR but come on man the comparison is just unfair.

I'd imagine 6 rushes with Alchemist's Ring could be even more fun.
Not really. Any investment you made on a 6th rush would most likely been finished faster with Blighted crow or Btags. Plus if you mess up that's longer cool down for you.
-
@MrDardon said:
It's probably to prevent Blight from using 6 rushes as long as they have those Add-ons.
Imagine 6 rush Blight with Alchemist Ring, and you would see it during the year, it would be a nightmare and nightmares are for Halloween so that's why it's only during Halloween.
Forget what I said, that's probably not the reason, I just like to think of a reason.

I thought the blocked gens would be free value for ruin :(
Nah that'll make builds way too creative for killers combine regression perks with lock down so that's not allowed.
Also locking down gen is a bad combo for Ruin anyway, Just encourages survivor to look for hex since they have nothing to do.

Glad I spent bloodpoints on that stupid crap I can't even use anymore. Survivor can still use it's pretty good for Syringes medkits.

@KayTwoAyy said:
If you bring them with the intention of running a Sabo/Breakout Build, one offering is definitely not enough to always secure the save. And on indoor maps, it feels like the offering has the most insignificant impact on hook spawn.
However, as a killer it is often noticible that the hooks are further apart.
If you can convince all 4 survivors to bring the offering, you'll definitely notice its impact as survivor. Even in the middle of the map, the killer may struggle to find the best hook to go to. Otherwise, just 1 offering has very situational value for sabo builds.
Honestly I just think it depends on Hook RNG. I've been running the sabo/breakout build and gotten great results from it. There are just times where the Hooks are so spread apart and sometimes where it's so close together that you'd have to bait 1-2 lunge and one sabo in front of their face to get them off.

First of all, i am NOT against some solo buffs to bring them on par with SWF etc, i even want some buffs.
(with this i mean that i want information buffs for solos, nothing else)
But i keep seeing people crying for killer nerfs and hardcore survivor buffs just because they have bad experiences as solos.
More often then not they then blame the killers and act like the game is extremly unbalanced which is simply not the case.
The reason why solo is so hard is because of YOU or YOUR teammates.
Either YOU screw your mates over with sonethng or YOUR mates screw something over.
Most DBD players are really bad and most of them are playing solo which causes your games to have alot of survivors who just insta drop every pallet (even if the killer isnt even chasing them...) or you get survivors who dont do gens, dont go for unhooks, DC on first down and all this stupid stuff.
The thing is, while getting them in your team is extremly frustrating, you can only blame your team and not the killer or the game balance.
IF they would ,,balance" the game in a way one survivor is able to simple erase the tons of errors their mates made and is able to easily finish all the gens and totems by themselfs if needed (because of bad mates), how do you think is the killer supposed to have a chance?
Its a 1vs4.
Its a teamgame.
You have to work together to escape and if your team does bad plays, your whole team has to live with it.
You just shouldnt be able to easily do everything alone in a 1vs4 because this would just destroy the meaning of the game and the balance.
Did you ever won a match with a decent random team and was like ,,Damn we won, some things on our side should get nerfed so the other side can stand a chance."?
I never saw anyone saying something like that.
Its always someone instantly crying for buffs for their side or nerfs for the other side if they lose.
Also this isnt a us vs them, it goes BOTH ways so dont even try to start a war here now.

I actually don't want buffs for Solos. It's just hand holding at this point and I've been playing Solo for years, I don't want buffs or Nerfs because I'm entitled to as a Solo. You can play just fine and be on par with SWF if every random player in the group is actually good at the game. I don't want to blame the player's lack of experience into having built in Kindred. It's dumb, I don't like it especially when my best memories of this game is when Randoms just clicked together and made amazing plays together.
Now I'm not gonna deny that having SWF communication has it's advantages but it is what it is. I just think that at truly high mmr survivor, You can play perfectly fine without comms. You don't need Comms to start with the middle generator or loop the killer for at least a minute.
-
Boons. It made dropping chases way too much punishing since everyone would be back to full health in seconds. The Wraith nerf was icing on the cake too.
Just played more survivor really.

Yeah Lilith omen who supposedly had over a thousand hours on Blight says that collision on objects change here and there. It's kind of funny they change those but couldn't fix the obvious stuff like the map Swamp of slides.

If I may, that can actually backfire as well. Let me tell you, losing a gen before you've even started your first chase because you guessed wrong on where literally all the survivors spawned is not a good feeling.
Losing one gen is better than losing potentially three generators because the game says let's spawn everyone with one gen each. Also it's easier to manage everyone when they spawn together and if you can interrupt the first gen from being finished they're gonna greed that generator out. You can get multiple downs there if you play your cards right.

Hooking all 4 survivors has always been an abysmal condition even in theory due to bad luck/stealth playstyles existing.
All it takes is having bad luck running into one or having a single blendette in the game to make the perk useless.
Also blocking off all generators while in theory sounds good it runs into the same issue as No Way Out:
The moment it activates just makes all the survivors hide because they have no reason not too.
In grim embraces case making using your advantage outside of camping kinda worthless.
The obsession is actually shown to you so you can get into a chase immediately though but everything else is fair point.
-
Had a match where I was practicing hugs techs against this really good survivor and committed to chases trying out stuff. Got him finally and hooked him but the generators wasn't flying at all. So when he got unhooked he ran to the killer basement and started spam opening lockers and when I got there he pointed at two lockers at the very corner. Opened it and there was a Claudette inside and a Jake at the other one, thought it was funny and felt for the guy. Let him get out since he deserved it.
-
When I first heard about Grim lock I thought the perk would activate like twice if you just hook 4 times every time. I think dead lock is better and more consistent really.
