  • I only seen MoM work twice since Boon dropped but I do see the potentially when you're a very coordinated SWF. Regardless I still think it's a dumb perk. Could have just invested your time finishing the game lol.

RPD since its launch in the resident evil chapter has been a terrible map for the killer side of the game. The worst part of it is the library where the survivors go to a corner on the top and cant be hooked. Then boon totems where added and maps with multiple floors where made even stronger. The newest boon perk makes it to where even if you slug them at the library they can get right back up. RPD isn't the only map like this either, Badham preschools boiler room is the same boon a totem and bring boil over and the killer cant do anything to stop you. Especially if their a SWF and running a whole perk build for that specific purpose. These maps need to be drastically changed for the games health.

I don't know but there should be a hook at the bottom of the library right? Like if you got downed at the top just drop down from the short cut above library. Regardless RPD is a dumb map for killer.

I mean, 2/3 when I don't think I've run into this with anyone else I've even briefly played, even low-mmr Bubba, did sort of stick out.

Keep playing. I don't judge games based on 3 matches.

Oh, I plan to, I was just wondering if this sort of petulance is going to be habitual.

I mean you played 3 games it's too early to ask don't you think?

I'd hope it's low, given I just bought it and I can't be that good on anyone else to bring the floor up much. Would be pretty miserable to try otherwise.

Keep playing, you only played 3 games.

  • The game being the super smash bros of horror.

  • Maybe seems like low mmr where beginners play. DCs are very rare on my end.

  • It was also creating pseudo infinites in tractor. Not to mention the many other places with elevation. It's impossible to fix not with BHVR handling the game when they fix a map like what 3 in a year?. Sorry but BL is fine as it is.

  • Eh I think he's perfect the way he is and his green add ons makes him a monster in three gen situations. It's just that BHVR still has some questionable map design that plagues killers without Mobility.

  • No reason to do bones. Keep each location in your head and come back when NOED procs.

  • Now I just want Nurse to get a Silent hill Nurse outfit. Wink wink

  • In high MMR there's barely any blatant cheater but worst of all. Subtle cheaters and there's no way to tell 90% of the time. I just don't find some people dodging every mind game including very rare ones legit.

  • I mean some common add ons are nerfs though they're purely memes only.

  • Would be cool if the Blight costume for Legion had four voices overlapped. That blight costume is so interesting to see how they just got combined together.

Its more, every game has become that rather than it being around for years. Without mmr I saw FAR more perk diversity than what is with meta today.

You're remembering wrong and I see no difference. When I left a year and a half ago and came back when MMR got implemented I didn't even notice. Actually meta even changed with the addition of boons. Still meta though but not the usual 4 meta perks.

  • @BreadTube said:

It isn't OP it has multiple downsides I'd like to list:

    • Takes 16-24s to bless the totem
    • If you're interrupted all progress is lost
    • It has a limited range
    • The killer gets a very loud indicator you blessed a totem
    • It takes the killer 1s to snuff a totem
    • You CANNOT protect them
    • You can't use it if all the totems have been cleansed or the only totems available are being used for boons you don't like/need
    • You still have to heal yourself once you're done, but it can be risky due to the loud indicator, so if a killer is good with totem locations they can figure out where you are.

It already comes with way too many downsides it doesn't need even more to make it useless.

1)It actually takes 14 seconds and 24 if it's a hex. 14 seconds on a team of four is absolutely worth it even as a Hex it's still worth blessing. Hardly a downside. 2) When was the last time you actually interrupted someone cleansing your hex its inevitable? It's the same 14 seconds to bless a dull. You might have an argument if they're blessing a hex but competent survivors should realistically just cleanse it Instead. 3) 24 meters is BIG for a perk that gives everyone infinite heals and it can even go vertically. 4) that's not enough to call a downside that's like me saying my Ruin getting cleansed seconds into the game but that's okay it gave me loud notification lmfao. 5 and 6) A killer's time is 4x more important the fact that you went out of your way to snuff it and potentially lost survivors and interrupting gen is a huge loss to you. Also back to what I said I can just bless it again 14 seconds is absolutely worth it on a team of four people. 7)There's five totems barely any random survivor team get to cleanse everything anyway even if they do they stop cleansing after someone uses a Boon. 8) it's not risky the boon sounds is audible until potentially 10m and this extends to 24m just heal at the very edge. Now I am not sure how far you can actually hear boons but you definitely can't hear it for the entire 24m boon range.

  • @BubbaDredge said:

You kind of answered your own question there, you tunnel and camp. There's not enough time to go for 12 hooks when the gens will be done in six minutes. Survivors at high MMR are also hook-swarmers, every team is a team that usually survives. The only way to extend that six minutes is by creating a situation that gets them off gens, or kill them faster. Hard camping gets them off gens, tunneling makes them die faster.

It's still fun. It was more fun before MMR.

Sounds like the game being inherently broken not that it's high mmr

Even Otz will, at times, admit Survivors have too much power. And that dude is about as chill as can be.

He also said Killers are the power role by having a stream where he just uses every busted add ons for every killer and played optimally which is aka very unfair to the survivors. So I really don't know what his actual stance is but I heard more about him thinking the game is killer sided.

  • @Leonardo1ita said:

I need as many opinions as possible, because I haven't been on the forums at all neither followed the discussions of Otz and OhTofu and other streamers during time.

My question is: as Otzdarva and OhTofu said( because they collect opinions of a lot of people) and I can see from other streamers, the negativity towards the game has been progressively increasing: the frustration or in general negative feelings

Objectively Dead by Daylight has improved a lot during time: keys, instaheals, brand new parts, infinites, and a lot of busted things have been nerfed and reworked, and the only major buff to survivors that's been introduced is Circle of healing, that luckily with some killers it's not that big of a problem, but with killers like Wraith and Hag it's a game changer that denies completely any sort of hit and run playstyle and saves survivors so much time that you don't have time to do anything. If we compare dbd to what it was in 2018, or 2019, it's not even comparable.

So is SBMM / MMR the reason there's so much negativity around in general, with a lot of people saying they don't enjoy playing Dbd anymore?

Or is it all the negativity that cheaters, toxic people at high SBMM clicking with massive egos, hackers that ddosed the game and toxic people on Twitter brought with them?

I was actually praising them since every step was towards improvements. But the addition of boons was a major step back and then there's pallet and dead validation. Also arguably survivor have become really efficient in doing generators in comparison to two years ago. Also don't boon was a Nerf to the entire roster not just hag and Wraith specifically. As I always said there's no way for a killer to apply pressure on 4 survivors across the map. Injuring them was one of the only delay to the game but now you're punished for both committing and dropping chases.

  • @Mooks said:

The devs said they didn’t have any intention to reskin the map…

Shame. I love it both as Killer and Survivor.

  • Honestly Big daddy would be awesome for this game and rapture as a map would add more variation to their boring maps.

That is an exceptionally pedantic stance to take, to play devil's advocate on someone's argument over a bit of wording in one post that isn't even unconditionally what you've interpreted it to be. "If we aren't recording at the time the match is happening" doesn't intrinsically mean the player can record, it creates a conditional that excludes a much greater portion of the playerbase. People with recording devices who aren't recording at the time of something weird can't report. People who don't have recording devices are also not recording, so they can't report.

Didn't play devil's advocate it's me suggesting a viable option, only played 'devil's advocate' until later on. That's 100% what he meant otherwise he would have said earlier on but here you are making arguments for him? Are you him? Also the fact that he explored the idea even further says it all. Again if that's he meant he should have said it in the first place, Why bother implying downloading is a hassle? You have no reason to say that. Just say again "me no download, me no responsibility" it's that simple.

  • Had 21 Matches on Solo Q

71.4286%. of those matches were 4 man escape. MMR is pretty easy. flex

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2705125#Comment_2705125

??? Nowhere in my post I said that the player should have to download anything, so I never changed my discussion.

It was obvious since the start that the player is not the one who has to have software to report hackers, the game itself should.

"so if we aren't recording at the time the match is happening," You implied this. Also why not say that in the first time I replied but instead you went on a charade about how much of a hassle it is. Could have just said "me no download, me not responsibility" and that would have been the end of it, instead you entertained the idea. stop changing your story mate

  • Makes you watch cursed blight lag flicks videos.

  • It's not a death squad if they're getting downed in 20 seconds max no offense. What were they even doing? Standing around not taking advantage of the sprint burst they get from being injured?

People really need to start posting their Gameplay before they make topics like this. Just makes me skeptical.

  • Disguising his traps would be nice so Survivors actually have to be extra careful. Also Trapper has brutal add ons and he probably would jump to A tier if his traps are hard to pinpoint. Honing stone and Tension spring is just so good at Snowball when it actually works, I went from struggling chasing one dude to suddenly have three people slugged on the ground.

  • @Laluzi said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2705032#Comment_2705032

Is "you should be able to report other players in-game without using third-party software" really that difficult or unreasonable a concept?

Because never in my life have I played a multiplayer game where the in-game report function didn't actually work before DBD.

Seriously, how is your average player outside the forums even supposed to know that reporting a hacker with the in-game system doesn't do anything? The system is incredibly obtuse. The fact that they place a burden of proof that players can't satisfy without external downloads and constant running (aka CPU) is icing on the cake. Handling this stuff in-house is elementary.

Yes because that's now how he started his post. Do you not understand? I wouldn't be making that post otherwise if that's how he started the discussion. He entertained the idea of a recording software, I obliged. I don't like people changing their stances mid way because they don't want to admit installing recording software isn't that big of a deal. He acted like it was a hassle, I disagree and gave him facts then changed his story.Again keep your stories intact don't change your stories half way through conveniently for your own argument. (Not you by the way)

  • On one hand suggestion looks promising and on another 4 survivor dying to EGC because of you timing Bloodwarden activation is tempting still for memes.

  • Without context it looks like you yeeted that Meg onto a jungle gym wall and I thought that was funny.

  • @Marigoria said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2705026#Comment_2705026

Recording software is a hassle. A hassle that the players shouldn't have to deal with, and a replay system would fix that.

A recording software alternative that you wanted from the beginning but it's very convenient for you to suddenly change your stance from "In case we're not recording" to "Players shouldn't have to record" on the drop of a hat. Funny how you were entertaining this idea until I completely shut down your argument to say that software are a hassle to open 24/7.

Keep your story intact next time. It's okay to admit you were wrong and you weren't as tech savy as you thought you were. I'm not tech guy myself but that was pretty funny "I don't want to open one 24/7"

  • @Marigoria said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2705014#Comment_2705014

See. that's the problem. I, the player, have to download a software, so I can report hackers. I shouldn't be done one doing that. I shouldn't even need to think about that at all.

The developers are the ones who need to provide it, in the game itself, so people can simply replay it and record it from there.

In your own words "We need a replay system, so if we aren't recording at the time the match is happening" I provided you a solution - an alternative you wanted where it's impossible for you to not be recording at any given time. Now we're in a mental gymnastics you webbed up because you thought recording software are a hassle to set up and now you changed your stance conveniently. 🤪 Couldn't you have said this from the beginning?

  • @Marigoria said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2704989#Comment_2704989

Yes, they're easy to get, but I dont want to have one open 24/7 just in case I find a hacker.

I've worked on an indie game that had a replay system. The team was made of 6 people. I'm sure if a team of 6 people can implement a replay system so can a multi millionaire company.

Why are you acting as if that's an issue or anything? Am I missing something here? It's not open 24/7. You literally just have to press a button when to start recording anytime. You can go about your daily life on your chosen platform to play DBD with and not even noticed that you have a recording software installed. You don't have to open any application every time you turn on your PC/Console, it's just there. Press a button it starts recording.

You can either download said recording tool with just a few clicks - virtually instant or you can wait forever for a potential replay system that's very unlikely. Pick your sour candy.

  • I mean do you really want to trust BHVR on implementing a replay system? You know the same company that can't add one thing in the game without breaking multiple things at once? Tools to record are accessible with just a few clicks away, It's not a big of an issue as some people are making it out to be.

I'm not protecting the developers though they do need to fix this issue but you know just saying recording soft wares are easy to get and can start recording with a push of a button, same for consoles. Not sure about Switch though.

  • I think it's intentionally and not for the reason you might think. If I'm using BBQ I'm pretty much using my Blight's strongest add ons every game it's kinda busted. Anymore BP and it's gonna be every killer bringing their strongest build every game. Now I do want them to reduce grind, not by giving more BP but by removing perk tiers in blood webs. The small amount of BP you can get is a necessary evil to both sides. I don't think you want Survivor bringing their strongest tools + add ons either every match.

  • @ThatOneDemoPlayer said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2704799#Comment_2704799

He still wouldn't be A tier. He has the worst early game imo. His whole Power is giving Survivors a speed boost, nothing else

You underestimate how good his Zombies are when it's actually working lmao. That's why I want his zombies to be more consistent since it's really strong if the zombie doesn't get stuck in front of a survivor repairing a generator. It provides a lot of passive delays and that's not mentioning the perks that even provides further delay. His power may need some help starting up but when it gets going, it gets going. Can create massive dead zones already and just hold a good three gen and you're golden. That's assuming if zombies are working ofc.

  • @ThatOneDemoPlayer said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2704743#Comment_2704743

They're both wasted potentials. Pinhead is accurate but weak, Nemesis isn't even close to accurate but mediocre/weak

I actually would argue that Nemesis by itself is pretty strong. Thing is his zombies is terribly inconsistent at doing their jobs to buy you time to get stronger. Literally just fix zombie A.I so they'll be reliable instead of rolling a dice and Nemesis would be A tier.

  • Doubt it. Horror was only present when you were new in the game maybe new players would be more horrified with the addition of this new licensed killer.

  • Why are people pretending as if MMR suddenly made the 4 meta perk of the apocalypse suddenly appeared out of nowhere? This has existed for years what the hell?

  • @TAG said:

You can already see those things without the need of a mini-map. What does the mini-map really do, in that case?

Block your screen and maybe miss a split second survivor because you glanced at the top right of the screen lol.

  • @IsMmrReal said:

For me, not any perk in the game. Not gen speeds. Not even SWF or MMR. What really gets me is when the LEAST SKILLED survivor teabags in the gates. Like the ones who you feel bad for so you don't hook them a third time because they get two tapped by a hag without traps LMAO. Just something that really gets me going lmao makes me chuckle to see it.

This is as a survivor as well. I hate to see the survivor that urban evaded in the edge of the map teabag a killer when that killer totally destroyed that survivor during the match. A lot of the time I see them escape because they are carried.

That actually annoys me even as a Survivor. This baby survivor got carried by the rest of the team while as soon as he got chased gets downed in 15 seconds and he has the audacity to Tbag the killer at the exit gates. Not that I'm saying Tbag is fine but it especially makes me scratch my head when the baby survivor who can only predrop pallet does it.

    I dunno.

Most of my Survivor queues have been around 5 minutes.

But yeah, the "skill-based matchmaking" is really just "who-waited-the-longest matchmaking"

5 minutes is kind of long.

I'm getting around 1-3 minutes on my end at peak hours on my region. At night the queue is 5 minutes+ though. Either way I don't think MMR will balance anything there's not enough good players to go around for everyone at any given time lol

  • I noticed this happens a lot when the queue time is long so the game just gives you every MMR there is so you don't have to wait any longer.

At night where Survivor queue time is suffering the game just flat out gives baby killers and at day time there's some competent killers.

  • I wish I could play with Youtubers. I just play with people from Asia and I can't even understand what they're saying so I can't watch their POV on their thoughts about my Killer/Survivor.

  • @tester said:

Yes, if victor gets crashed 5 times during match, it adds up to entire 1 second. Definitely match altering!

I'm just saying you shouldn't really be expecting any delays from a fast animation to kick victor. Regardless the add on idea was dumb from them and I prefer my way where the survivor get some effects for kicking victor instead.

  • The animation is fast so the 0.2 seconds kind of makes sense in correlation to that. I would just make an add on where the Survivors suffers from something if he kicks victor though.

  • Funnily enough I think Legion has the most work on their cosmetics.

There's one mask that changes his voice making it more muffled.

  • Seems fine to me.

Been making a list of my Solo Q and this is the result so far out of 10 games.

8 escapes, 2 deaths and eight 4 Man escapes, one 3 man escape and one 2 man escape.

Not a single match out there where the killer got a decisive victory.

Im not saying they don't have counterplay, im just saying there somes situations you literaly CANNOT get away.

    For example:

Artist: small loops next to dead zones, straight corridors and some safe pallets.

And i just used her as an example, because this happens to trickster, pyramid head, twins, pin head, artist and etc. And even with that they still lose because they simply don't have enough map pressure to pull off (except twins).

With huntress for example, there is some windows and closed corridors you can guarantee a hit. But you still cant guarantee a down only because the survivors is in a bad part of the map.

This should be basic for every killer. (Just to point out that almost every killer can down you in dead zones, they just should'nt be able to ensure a down for being in a weak loop).

You can get away it's called taking a hit and running across the map because getting injured and the distance you can get from the sprint burst is stupid AF and even if you misjudge that distance and still gave the killer a free down there's a thing called press E to win for more distance. The only time you legitimately can't get away from a deadzone on the killer you listed is Trickster and Huntress because that's their whole shtick, They're ranged killers with god awful mobility where they can potentially take a whole minute just to start a chase mechanic. They're also screwed by certain maps with tall enough walls. That's just how it is, The game has map RNG deal with it killers have been dealing with it as well. Also if you got downed on a dead zone AT healthy state then that's a you a problem not a killer one and even if you're injured and got caught there maybe should have thought think twice before positioning yourself in a dead zone.

  • Yeah Wraith is trash tier now. This coming from a long time dedicated Wraith main and bought my first killer cosmetics with. After the buff I could never go back to using him, he's so garbage at high MMR.

The addition of boon was icing on the entire cake though, It significantly hurt his hit and run style. I don't like using NOED but that's the way to go for him, you basically have to create the best end game scenario for you. Decrease the pallets in the entire map, get No way out then snowball to a 4K with NOED your movement speed you should be able to take care of your hex in most cases.

1 … 4 5 6 7 8 … 28
