Indeed, it is bullshit, but that's how it works. There's no real reason for it to even work like that because it literally only comes into play if survivors gen tap.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1675133#Comment_1675133
You're literally telling me, the guy who was there, witnessed the changes, and heard the devs' justifications, to "learn" from someone who wasn't.
I think I'm going to stick with believing what actually happened, seeing as how I witnessed it.
How do you know he wasn't there for the changes?

I've never seen that.
That's bullshit. Really? That goes against the whole purpose of the perk.
Nerf survivors.
Yep, I love tapping the gen and hitting the skill check while running, it's satisfying, would recommend.
-
No mither shouldn't activate until you are first injured, and remove the broken icon, so the killer doesn't know you have it.
Also, it should reduce grunts of pain by 100%, not just 50%.
-
Yes it will be on the PS5.
-
Spine chill, since I play survivor with music on, and it helps with detecting killers and vault build.
Tinkerer for killer, since it's the best gen pressure perk in the game.

I tried to give it the benefit of the doubt, I really did, but its just not good. I kinda like it on deathslinger, but thats it.
I like the concept, its the first perk that actually helps in a chase (maybe NOED and Devour do too, but not in such a unique way). The problem is that it is just so absolutely underwhelming.
So lets see whats wrong with the perk
- Does not activate on hits with secondary power (WHY!)
- Has a ridiculously small reach of 16m, half the average terror radius. Survivors can just hold W aand cover 20 meters in the time your (thats why STBFL makes it kind of okay)
- it lasts only 15 seconds, too little to get much value out from in closed structures like the badham homes and lerys.
- It is a hex, which I dont usually consider to be a problem, but goddamn this perk is just not worthy of being one
And its most important problem:
- IT
- HAS
- A
- COOLDOWN
- WHYYYYYYYYYYYYY
- JUST WHYYYYYYY
Cant you guys find creative ways of balancing perks instead of just slapping cooldown on everything? Its getting pretty tiresome. The perk is already pretty underwhelming, the cooldown just kills, no, MURDERS it.
I just hope it gets buffed in the future.
It's The best survivor perk, it literally encourages them to play better and hold W after getting hit, instead of staying at a loop.

In response to the actual OP, that is RNG, which has been a problem of this game from the start, and the reason why this game won't be competitive or tournament ready, we need map seeds.
-
Oni almost completely invalidates Michael's existence.
Oni:
1. Gets his power faster.
2. Does not slow down at the start of the game.
3. Can dash and flick around corners.
4. Has better snowball.
5. Does not have to 99 his power.
6. Has better add-ons (scalped topknot, lions fang)
What does Michael have?
1. Stealth in tier 1, but still slow.
2. 20 seconds more of his power

@ScottJund said:
Couldn't agree more. His height makes absolutely no sense. I know its common for games to have FPS cameras more along the upper chest but it does not make any sense that a survivor has a taller field of vision than I do, when they're also in third person. Also, when you pick a survivor up he grows by like 7 inches, to what should be his normal height. All of the worst things about Blight are just weird QOL issues which is just bizarre.
Yeah, I remember seeing a video from a youtuber about this, and it looks absolutely awful when you compare yourself to the survivor.
https://youtu.be/beXtiLyrNncCheck 0:29.
EDIT: Oh ######### that's you lol, ignore this because you already experienced it.
-
I prefer tinkerer and pop on my blight, since it's more regression, and since I'm a high mobility killer, I can make it in time to stop the gen, also it's more consistent than ruin and undying.
-
You should run soul guard as well, to take advantage of the hex if it's still up.

What stops a wraith from hiding, watching, and waiting for you to touch a gen and then tunnel? You want survivor to not touch a gen for 60 seconds? I am not allowed to work on the objective but you can? Sounds like a horrible balance idea. Survivors aren't supposed to be totally defenseless.
The ability to look and listen for the wraith stops him.

Uh no. It has been described as an anti-momentum perk. It's the community that labeled it as an anti-tunnel perk. A dev even had to make a post to set the record straight. That doesn't mean it shouldn't be up for a rework though.
Uh no, the community has evidence of other developers like McLean saying it was meant to be anti tunnel. The old DS was anti momentum, if the new DS was really anti momentum, it wouldn't activate if you were unhooked recently.
Just ask someone like Scott Jund, he has evidence of devs saying it was meant for anti tunnel.

Nah, people are able to not care about skill levels, because guess what? Dbd is a casual game, not a competitive e-sports game, stop assuming.

Are you not gonna mention how he was endlessly slugging too? Or is it going to be one of those posts where “it’s a legit strat”... but what survivors did is not ok?
Listen if you want to be taken serious, at least post a video of someone who isn’t running Undying/Ruin, because that is the equivalent of those “annoying” survivor combos. He got so much free pressure and he is playing a killer that basically shines when survivors are clumped in one section.
Slugging is absolutely necessary to winning the game at high level play, you simply do not have enough time to get 12 hooks.

He's definitely not OP, but I would change him to make the reveal mechanic perfectly reciprocal. As in, the survivor can no longer reveal Ghost Face while they're behind an obstacle, which is currently annoying for Ghost Face, but they no longer need to see more than 20% of Ghost Face to reveal him and they can also reveal him up to 40m, which is currently annoying for survivor. I'd remove the driver's license add-on entirely. I'd also remove the radial indicator when a survivor is revealing him. As is, you can just be scanning around for the killer and accidentally start revealing him for a fraction of a second which lets him know pretty much exactly where you are. That's kind of trash imo. I'd keep the killer instinct if he's revealed and keep the audio cue so he knows when someone is revealing him. I'd also reduce the base cooldown on his power to maybe 20s instead of 30s but nerf his cooldown add-ons to compensate.
I really like this change, since it mostly buffs him, because of his long cooldown.

What are the most underrated and overrated perks in your opinion?
Survivor:
Overrated: Adrenaline is really overrated for me. All it usually does it busting my Dead Hard. I think it can be an exzelltent perk when you are in group but i would not treat it like the greatest invention in DbD like many do.
Underrated: Second Wind seems to be completly ignored by the majority of the playerbase. Why is that? It has an extremly powerful effect (imagine getting healed while working on a gen or getting chased) and the condition to get that is not that much (and also benefiting the team)
Killer:
Overrated: A Nurses calling is just not good on most killer. It might work on Stealth killer but on any other killer with Terror radius, it does not do that well.. at least not nearly as many claim.
Underrated: Noed broken? Undying best perk right now? Pop necessary? Well... how about Play with your food op? If any perk gets me kills, its this one. Especially against really good survivor since it is hard to tell in a chase how speedy the killer is right from the beginning. Most people, no matter how many hours they have, underestimate or simply forget that this perk excists.
Survivor: Overrated: Sprint burst, because having to walk around the map is annoying.
Underrated: Detectives hunch, since it hard counters her perks and is also just a better de ja vu.
I agree with both your overrated and underrated for killer.

Just because you begin to do an objective while having DS doesn’t mean the killer can’t come back and tunnel you.
This is why the timer remains after being unhooked. I have literally seen killers break a chase just to take out the person who was just unhooked. So the idea that one could simply touch another body while healing or a gen or totem and it deactivates is not fair when the killer can just play around that.
We don’t give camping/tunneling those limitations now do we?
Yeah It does, it's impossible to be doing a generator and still getting tunneled, I'm all for tunneling and camping nerfs, but DS needs a change.

So you can't dodge a good huntress then because a fully charged hatchet moves at the same speed and has a bigger hit box.
It's not a dodge, it's a prediction. If you could dodge his harpoon or huntress they'd be clown tier.
Yes, but huntress has to wind up her hatchet and slows down.

Imagine if Myers started the match at tier 3 with fragrant tuft of hair, but he could also throw his knife over pallets and walls up to 3 times because of another add-on. That's iri head. And if you think that's ok you really need to play more survivor because there's absolutely no way survivors can keep up with that kind of immediate snowball at the beginning of the match unless the killer is really bad.

You're definitely someone who plays Spirit or are a killer only main. Spirit is a cheap way to get free wins especially with perks like pop, corrupt, ruin and any other slowdowns along with stridor and decent headphones. I play both sides and have played Spirit enough to know how unfair she is so I'm sure a lot of people care based on the fact that this is a discussion to begin with.
How are they a killer main for saying who cares? Lmfao.

-
@ClickyClicky said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1670142#Comment_1670142
But that works both ways. Killers want to lose because they went against a good team, not because the survivor ran a god window 3 times and they couldn’t do anything about it, not because of stacked second chance, maps full of a thousand safe pallets, or holding W on Midwich or Hawkins.
There is a lot of situations where against a team that knows what they’re doing some of the older killers just can’t get the job done. They simply don’t have the tools in their kit to make it work. Not just that but going by the examples above it takes relatively little skill on the survivor side to do that. Run Ormond for example and its safe pallet to safe pallet to safe pallet, DH for distance and then safe pallet to safe pallet. Survivors love that and I get it that feels more fun but on the killer side it’s garbage, the mechanics of the game give you no input. Its the reverse of your scenario, you dont get hits or hooks because you did good, you get them because the survivor made a mistake.
Have you played any of those ranged killers? Especially deathslinger, all it takes is a little wiggle to make his shot miss. Half a step and it will fly past you. Theres a reason him and PH zone.
You can't juke a deathslingers harpoon, it is physically and mathematically impossible, you have to have record time reaction speed to do it.
-
Pgtw and ruin are pretty ######### together, otherwise I agree.
