  • I can certainly appreciate the effort you went through for the art of the perk, it looks really nice. As for the perk itself, it's certainly quite a cool effect, though anything that let's Survivors complete gens faster really worries me.

  • A BIG NO THANKIES FROM MCSPANKIES
The last thing I need is for them to instantly go from 2 gens left; I still have a chance, to 0 gens left, in which case I no longer have a chance. This is extremely overpowered. In a coordinated SWF match, for just an example on why this is broken let alone just in general, you could just hop on over to a generator and hide in a locker next to it as your friends work on another gen. The second that gen is finished they notify you, you hop out, and INSTANTLY finish the last one. Also, using this ability while there are two gens left is a waste of time, as it just makes it harder to finish the last one. This perk needs some serious balancing.

  • Ooh, I love this idea so much but I don't think any Survivors need any EXTRA benefits atop what they already have in the games current state. The idea itself is awesome, but Meg being able to use Sprint Burst with even less cooldown is horrifying. I believe that maybe the Killers will need to be dished out some roles as well to try and balance things out a bit, but that'll take some brainstorming. The only one that sounds balanced that comes to mind immediately is some sort of Wrecker role for some of the killers that increase breaking effects on Gens and Palletes and stuff.
I like where your idea is going, though.

  • I'm on board, if it let's me seem them better as Killer.

  • I don't need a constant reminder that I suck at the game, no thank you :(

Face camping: Standing in front of hook staring at survivor
Camping: Keeping survivor in line of sight at all times
Soft camping: Keeping in heartbeat range at all times
Hard patrolling: Dipping in and out of heartbeat range, checks surrounding area and then goes back to hook over and over again
Soft patrolling: Patrols nearby gens/objectives and hook equally

Interesting. So here's what I take away from that...

Facecamping: Camping, but there's no skill involved so please stop.
Camping: Not necessarily bad, but not the best thing to do.
Soft-Camping: That's the kind of camping I do when I do it occasionally as a strategy when exit gates are open, so I guess they weren't wrong in calling me a soft-camper, though that wasn't really what I was doing in that match.
Hard Patrolling: So... protecting a hook when you know someone is nearby.
Soft Patrolling: So just playing the game. Awesome. That's more to lines in what I was doing than Soft-Camping.

Well, thank you. Not really my place to rant out dumb terms, all I asked for was the meaning of Soft-Camping and you delivered, so again, thanks.

  • How the Survivors scramble after I rev up my chainsaw coming down the basement stairs as Bubba is always quality gold. Sorry that I don't have any picture evidence or a video, but man is it a glorious sight.

  • That's a really cool mask, I remember hearing somewhere that The Trapper's og "in-development" name was Chuckles. Had no idea the non-iron variant even existed, that's really neat.

  • Everytime a Survivor calls me out at the end of the match, I always give the classic
"<3 Love you too" response. They normally burn themselves out a little while after that.
Alternatively, someone once got mad at me for camping, and as a response I said "If it makes you feel any better, you were a really pretty lake to camp at <3." It shut them up nicely.

  • That idea is MMMMMMMMMMMMMM so good. Only problem is, the Survivors and Killers don't have too much in common, so what kind of interactions could there be? For example, it wasn't even The Pig who killed Tapp. The Pig wasn't even there when Tapp died, and vice versa.
I feel like Laurie V Michael would certainly be awesome, Laurie attempting to fight back before her untimely demise.
It would be totally mental if The Pig just pulled out a gun and shot Tapp. If any Killer were to have a gun, it would be Amanda, saying as she's used one before in the movies. Alternatively, have her set up some kind of Jigsaw-esque game, like the classic "Tie your leg to a pipe" thing.
Hell, here's a scenario. I can imagine Quentin threatening Freddy with a Lighter, then Freddy snatches it and burns Quentin alive. Happy family friendly PG clean.
But the Original non-licensed characters have basically nothing to do with their respective killer/survivor, so thinking of animations for them is difficult.

  • I decided to expand upon this concept by adding a little Bonus Trivia section, to try and rationalize some of my choices. I debated on adding addons, but it was far too much work and balancing, much more than a puny mine like mine could handle. Because I'm lazy.

    Bonus Trivia

    • I chose Springtrap over the titular Freddy Fazbear for a multitude of reasons. Freddy has no real reason to be hunting people down, as he is just a murder victim, VS. Springtrap who fits the criteria for a killer perfectly; someone who used to be human but has gone completely savage who was summoned by the Entity due to extreme acts of violence. Also, he looks creepier.
    • I chose the Crowbar as his weapon of choice as his murder weapon isn't really known. So, instead I went with a Crowbar because not only is it a unique weapon no other killer would really have, but also it represents all his animal robot body suit disassembling he did.
    • Perk 1: Dead Eyes: was selected due to Springtrap's dead robo-eyes. Self-explanatory.
    • Perk 2 0.1: Drowning Presence: Was made to represent the static effect on the cameras that was used across the FNaF series.
    • Perk 2 0.2: Crawlspace: Is to represent how, as one of his programmed paths, green robo-bunny man could use the vents to attack the player.
    • Perk 3: Under Surveillance: is simple enough. It represents how you would keep tabs on all the threats throughout the FNaF series, the surveillance system, AKA, the cameras. Springtrap in particular was always aware of camera locations and tried to hide in their blindspots, so... it just kinda fits.
    • This Fan-Made DLC was chosen to be a Paragraph, AKA a standalone killer similar to Leatherface, due to certain reasons. See, none of the Night Guards in Five Nights at Freddy's history have had a concrete appearance, personality, or really anything other than names. There's even a chance according to Game Theory (however may credible HE be nowadays) that some of the night guards were Springtrap's son, and; well, it's a super confusing can of worms. Finally, if they were just to conjure up some random night guard looking dude, I'd fear he would look too similar to Tapp anyway as far as outfit goes, so it wasn't worth the trouble. Standalone killer Springtrap is.
  • @Orion said:
Camping is when the Killer doesn't allow for a free unhook.

    Lmao, yeah.
But what the hell is Soft-Camping? That's what I'm on the hunt for. Seems to be as hidden an answer as the meaning of life.

  • Well, according to the meaning of the words, Jigsaw's Sketch would just be a quick drawing of a plan, while Jigsaw's Annotated Plan would be a plan that is in such high detail that each section of the plan has been elaborated on; so I'd assume that would be the one that is supposed to give you the better effect, but it doesn't.

  • @DieCampersDie said:
So let's just argue and say that there was an offering, that as the hooked survivor, with a good aim, you can spit on a camping killer, and gain like 50% BP bonus in boldness.

And maybe a temporary vision penalty for the killer for camping AND getting spat on?

I like this. it doesn't necessarily punish a camper for camping other than shaming them and mild blindness, and rather just benefits the Survivor. Meaning that if you camp someone, they'll most likely say "Thank you very much!" instead of "######### camping fag." Though I'm sure most people would still find a way to make "Thank you" very toxic. Anyway, the problem with this perk is how it is a complete detriment if a Killer decides not to camp at all or decides you aren't worth camping.

  • Actually, the idea of Monstrous Shrine giving bonus bloodpoints on basement sacrifices certainly makes it more appetizing.
Not good, it's still awful unless you're Basement Bubba, but more appetizing.

  • @Baphomett said:
Sure, as long as there is a red circle aroind every vault and pallet and hitting it a second time results in instant dying state.  Oh, and half as many pallets on the map.  And no flashlights.  And no DS.  And no emotes of any kind.  And disconnecting when hit or hooked results in a ban.  And no self heal, especially between pallets. And double the time to complete a gen.  And and and and....

OR we could finally agree that 100% survival rating is NOT the point of this game and that killers should get to have fun, too.

    You're my messiah.

  • Not a bad idea, could give the Trapper a nice Quality of Life boost.

  • I don't really want this because of balance or anything; don't get me wrong, I'm glad that it does that.
But I only want this because DAMN killing with my buddy sounds awesome.

All perk DLC is not a good idea.

Perks should never be in a dlc pack whether free or not. Maybe put into the store or used as part of a chapter but never just released with no reasoning.

    Why's that?

  • @Dwight_Fairfield said:
Everyone plays for their own enjoyment. The only time I question killer tactics is when they camp or tunnel. Is it really fun to stand and watch someone slowly die on a hook while gens pop off left and right? Is that really a fun time for someone, or even a good play strategy?

Dude it is though, but only when Survivors try to come and rescue someone on the hook. Especially as Leatherface. When you're at a low rank like me, people who don't understand Leatherface and unhook right in front of me make me the happiest, it's a double down. But yeah, camping when the others aren't altruistic sucks.
As for tunneling, well... it's not fun, it's not not fun, it's just kind of a thing you can do?

  • Hag has her uses, but you can't deny she's inferior to many other Killers.

  • pitches up tent and sets up campfire Don't get mad just because Pig, Leatherface, and Wraith have Abilities that are excellent with camping, as camping is a strategy that excel while combating overly altruistic Survivors or securing a last second Sacrifice while the other 3 Survivors are having a circle jerk in the Exit Gate. <3

  • The time I got all 4 Survivors with one Tier 3.

  • The time I got all Iridescents with Freddy on PTB. Nothing crazy.

EDIT: Shoutout to the people that didn't respond to my wholesome comment at the end of the match so I didn't have to edit them out <3

  • Ohhh man, I wish I had a picture or video of it, but one time as Shape I got all 3 Survivors who were trying to rescue the one on the hook with Tier 3, Hooked 'em all up ezpz until one Wiggled out, I had to chase them down shortly to get him back on a Hook, and it was the shortest match I ever had.

  • Freddy is no fun to fight if you're a Survivor who likes Stealth like me, because you can't easily hide from him and once you're in the Dream World there is no hiding, just running. But that's no reason for RANK 2 Survivors to call you a cheater, lmao.

  • I just find it satisfying to whack people. I'm a simple guy.

  • @DrKnockers05 said:
So I just sweated my butt off as David, trying to survive against a Pig with We're Gonna Live Forever, Dead Hard, and the dreaded No Mither. Managing to scrape out enough gens (but unfortunately losing 2 survivors), I only just managed to escape.
But lo and behold, the trophy didn't pop.
Now I did Dead Hard over the exit point so looking back, that may be the reason why. Other than that, haven't the foggiest.
    Anyone else having similar problems?

Were you ONLY using those three, not a fourth? If so, then sorry, I don't have any other input to this conversation.

  • @DirtyNurseMain said:
If you get a couple survivor perks in there that balance it out, this could be like an all perk dlc or something new? I’d pay for a perk dlc package!

Yeah, all perk DLC was the plan. Though I wouldn't want to lock so many abilities behind a paywall especially when so many of them are strong, so the DLC would be free.

  • @flamestandish said:
I noticed I didn't really give feedback on them above, sorry about that. Here is my breakdown and critic.

Aggressive Stomp ~ Brutal Strength could just be altered so that it works for both pallets and generators.
Also as a counter, Feng Mins which reveals when a killer breaks a generator could also work for pallets.

Hunger - Killers don't need another perk to make them faster. They have bloodlust which is more than enough to catch a survivor.

Slow Down - Disabling generators for a minute or so isn't fun. Maybe you could make it so that just the generator which you break next is disabled for up to 30 seconds. Any longer and it is not fun. Only 1 generator can be slow'd down at one time.

Partycrasher - A good concept but a little too overpowered. Survivors should be encouraged to work together. I agree that they should feel unsafe even within a group. But giving the killer a 'machine gun build' whens survivors are together shouldn't be allowed or in the game. (Remember when you could use save the best for last and unrelenting to make a machine gun build, this could happen again with this perk!).

From Behind - A survivor should use their mouse to look around. When would "behind" be classed as "behind"?. Is it behind the character or behind the camera direction.

Take the Weed by the Root - Okay this is quite clever. I'll give you that. Hooking your obsession to increase the kill time on all other hooked survivors sounds like a good idea. BUT, maybe this could be a hex as it would promote tunneling the same survivor (obsession).

Eyes of the Entity - This is just for BBQ and Chili, right?, Not required and nobody would use it. BBQ is already too strong as it is. They don't need another perk which takes up a perk spot so that they can see the survivors longer.

Hex: Eternal Prison - As said in previous post. A good concept. Gen rush (lol) could combat this. But you should be able to smash at least 6 of the gens easily given that the survivor doesn't start next to your hex totem.

Dread Shackle - Survivor cannot move while in dying position?, Hell no!

Tormentor - Wait a second. This killer perk helps survivors at the expense of giving killers more points? :chuffed: Thank you for this. But again, not required.

Behind the Reigns- Please define what you mean by 'survivor is taking you lightly'. Do you mean if a survivor is running you around for a while?. So basically you want to put that survivor into exposed state for 60 seconds (which is way too long by the way) for evading you for a long time?.

Spirit Breaker - Camping a survivor on a hook because you know that they will be slower when they get off the hook. Wow, Okay then. Nope sorry, way too overpowered and every killer will use this.

Threatening Stance - Would be good for the shape, but every other killer no. The terror radius of killers would be active and a survivor would move as soon as they hear it.

There we go :) some constructive criticism :dizzy:

    Flamestandish

Heh, thanks. This is a lot more useful than just saying that they suck.

Aggressive Stomp: Fair enough, I guess.

Hunger: Again, fair enough I guess.

Slow Down: I do like your idea, and I think I might replace Slow Down with that description, repaint it with a different name and flavor text, and then we have a good healthy perk.

Partycrasher: Maybe you misunderstood, maybe you didn't. I'm not sure. So allow me to clarify: it's only when all 3 of them are working on a generator and continue to work on a generator even when you approach a very close distance, meaning that having the no cooldown is extremely rare because chances are one of them will flee. Doesn't really make it balanced, I know, if anything that gives it more of an imbalance due to it's inconsistency, but for now I think I'll leave it how it is.

From Behind: This was a very experimental concept, and as a result it kind of sucks. The plan was that as long as the Survivor's physical model is turned away from the killer, then there's no terror radius. However, all it takes is for the Killer to move or the Survivor to move and the strange Killer Radius being removed and coming back would make it far too obvious, so I'm most likely just going to drop From Behind.

Take the Weed by the Root: I'm under the tent that tunneling isn't really such a bad thing (I know, exactly what you would expect to hear from a crappy killer), though I guess it can't hurt for the Survivors to have a way to combat the perk, so a hex works fine.

Eyes of the Entity: Not just for BBQ and Chili, though that is definitely it's strongest synergy. All limited time auras last a second longer. For example, if you're using a Nurse's Calling and they stop healing, then that's a second longer you can see them that you wouldn't previously; every Aura effect is a second longer. From my perspective, this is actually incredibly overpowered and I might remove it because of that. Also, on an off-note, I don't think the name sells the idea well enough so that's due for a change.

Hex: Eternal Prison: Good input, I only went with 7 gens because the idea of going around and having hit every gen at least once really sells the idea to me, though 6 is certainly more practical. I'll decide what to do with it.

Dread Shackle: Only while in the Exit Gate. It wouldn't change much from the first iteration anyway, the only difference being that in the first you could hide behind one of the columns and try to get a last second heal, which you can't do in the 2nd iteration, and ESPECIALLY can't do in the 3rd iteration. If that's still your problem, then sorry.

Tormentor: Yeah, it's just kind of there.

Behind the Reigns: "A survivor taking you lightly" really means nothing and is just an excuse for why you even have the Perk anyway. It's a flavor text, like how an ability would say, for example, Overcharge; "Your fueled by your hatred for progress." It doesn't really mean anything, it just sort of says why Overcharge does anything. Behind the Reigns has nothing to actually do with a Survivor taking you lightly except for slow vaulting or entering a locker slowly while in a chase. Also, yeah, 60 seconds is an extremely long time, you're right about that. I'll decrease that to... 15? 20? Does 20 sound good?

Spirit Breaker: Yeah, I guess that is an unintended side effect. I just kind of thought of it as a way to cripple Survivors slowly, though I guess it could be easily abused. I don't really know how to fix that...

Threatening Stance: As you can see from my profile pic, it was made with The Shape in mind, lol.

  • Keyword: It CAN be done. Not like it's likely. You probably got matched with ######### survivors.
It's like throwing a ball 700 meters and hitting a guy with in his dick. Like, it CAN happen, but you can't just say "If you're GOOD at throwing a ball, you can throw a ball at a guy you can't see 700 meters away right in his dick."

  • Well, the fact that the Clown is nice and thicc helps keep things a little fresh, though fat clowns isn't exactly new.
I think they should've gone with one of their prototype names, The Ringmaster, because that helps diverge from him being a Clown a bit because he isn't actually a clown, he's a mishmash of different Circus attire he was able to get his greasy hands on.

  • Looks real nice, though the lack of a background takes a little bit away from it, though since it certainly works for a scene like this. I also love Dwight's bizzare misshapen frown, it captures what I love about SFMs.
    Really nice work :)

@Mrrgle_the_Mediocre yeah, but if anything it just makes them look annoying imo

Oh, definitely. Nobody likes cocky Survivor mains.

  • Lot's of Survivor mains think they're hot crap, precisely why they get so mad when you hook them and protect your hook as Killer. So yeah. I believe they're just flaunting.

  • THE ARCHIVE OF PREVIOUS VERSIONS OF THIS CONCEPT-INATOR

Ability: Creeping Dread: (It's basically reverse Carter's Sparks, stay far away for bad effects.) There's something about always knowing that Afton is hunting you down slowly that causes dread to build up on your back, sweat to dot your face. The longer you sit there alone, it makes the confrontation all the worse. It eventually builds up to when you're finally face-to-face with the killer, you can no longer move. You're paralyzed. Keep tabs on the killer and play the confrontational game to keep yourself stable.

    • Every 15 seconds spent outside of the killer's terror radius causes one bar of "Dread" to go up. Maximum dread is 5 bars. You can keep track of your Dread on the HUD.
    • To remove Dread, one must spend time inside the Killer's terror radius or have the killer in sight (At about Michael Myers stalk distance) to decrease their dread. Every 5 seconds is one bar off.
    • Tier 1: No effects. Serves as a warning to the Survivor.
    • Tier 2: 9% slower action speed.
    • Tier 3: 12% slower action speed.
    • Tier 4: 12% slower action speed, 12% slower run speed.
    • Tier 5: 20% slower action speed, can no longer run. When a chase is initiated by the killer, you become paralyzed and hide your face while screaming.
(Change Note: Has been improved so it's harder to gain a bar, easier to lose a bar.)

Perk 2: Drowning Presence: By simply being near them, living things around you start losing their grasp on existence. Survivors within your terror radius have their screens filled with static, impairing vision and hearing. Effect gets stronger the closer you are to them.

    • Quiet Heartbeat: 5/10/15% of screen covered, mild static sound.
    • Loud Heartbeat: 15/20/25% of screen covered, medium static sound.
    • Dramatic Music: 30/50/75% of screen covered, loud static sound.
    • Touching Target: 100% of screen covered, can't hear anything but static.

"I remember- the beast was preparing for a strike... and after that, it's all hazy. What happened? How am I alive?" -Lost Tapes

(Change Note: Perk was entirely replaced.)

Perk 2: Crawlspace: You're no stranger to crawling through small spaces such as vents, and if anything these Vaults are easier. --/--/Once per game and while in your first chase, you vault or destroy a pallet 100% faster. After this effect has been triggered, you will get a 5/10/15% speed boost for 2 after Vaulting. Additionally, you vault 1/2/3% faster.
(Change Note: Vault Speed increase has been improved.

  • @TheEliteTurtle said:
This is fricking genius, no really! I'm not one to really enjoy FNaF's gameplay but Springtrap in Dead by Daylight actually isn't as far-fetched as you think! One of the dev's (I think it was Sarah) was asked "what licensed video game killers would you like to see?". She answered "Five Night's at Freddy's. The only bad thing about this post is that the ability and 2nd perk are kinda Op. I had a perk idea that was good for chases, it is: Once per game and while in your first chase, you vault or destroy a pallet 100% faster. After this effect has been triggered, you will get a 5/10/15 percent speed boost for 2 seconds when vaulting.

Heh, thanks alot! I love your perk idea, though I'm a bit confused. Is the 2 seconds vaulting speed boost permanent after the first chase, meaning that it happens everytime you vault for the rest of the game? I'm going to assume so because that would make it an excellent Vault Master Myers pick. So, this is what I'm thinking...

"Killers are experts at finding the cleverest route to catch you from. Look everywhere." -Notebook

I'm a little worried that maybe the additional vaulting speed I added might make the Perk a little too good, but I figured it would fall in line with the character a little better so I went for it. I also felt that it was best to move the first effect of the perk to it's final form because it just felt right. I dunno, I'm not a guy who is super effective at balance as you can tell, lmao.
Now, on the topic of the ability, that is a much harder issue to solve. I'm assuming the op part is how easy it is to gain bars and how hard it is to lose them. So, here's what I suggest to myself:
It now takes 20 seconds to gain a bar, with 15 being moved to an add-on.
Decreases the time from 5 seconds to 2.5 seconds in the time it takes to remove a bar. Obviously that doesn't count in a chase. I'll swap them out then, and add these changes to the main post and document the old aspects in an archive comment.

  • This is amazing, reminds me of a loading screen on a PS2 game :+1:

So I've got two ideas that might help killers just a bit thought I'd see how well they were received.

I1: Built in Mori- As for the requirements I think that after you've hooked all the survivors separately at least once and have a total of 6 hooks in game be able to kill one survivor in the trial without a mori offering. Helps killers a bit in an obvious way of just knocking someone out and also prompts them from tunneling/camping since the requirement is that you hook all 4. I also think this would at least put a LITTLE pressure on survivors. Would this be OP?

I2: Time limit on exit gates- This one is bit more half baked but I think it would add a bit of flare if once the exit gates are opened after a certain amount of time they slowly start to close. The gate CAN be re-opened but the opening time will be a bit longer this time. I just kinda like the idea for games that tend to get held hostage by trolls and just prompts survivors to leave once they've accomplished their objective or risk being stuck with the killer for another few minutes and die. Or take that risk to accomplish MORE objectives for the points (totems/hatch win etc) Thoughts?

The built-in Mori seems to make Hex: Devour Hope a bit redundant, but it's good.
As a killer main, however, the second idea about the Time Limit on Gates is.... MWAH.

  • Get one measly hit. Unfortunately, Meg was too fast for him, so he sat in his shack and...
