A lot of games that use lighting for atmosphere and/or gameplay have brightness sliders and one of those little "adjust until this icon is barely visible" calibration interfaces in the settings. Sure, some people will screw with it, but monitors and TVs are all calibrated differently, most players are each seeing a very different picture. It'd be nice to at least have the opportunity to see it the way the devs designed it to be seen.
Those are atmospheric games where a player is looking for a certain experience. If that player, say in a horror game, turned up the brightness to max. Who did they cheat in doing that? Just their own experience. To equate this to a game like DBD where vision is key to escaping a killer, you'll find that argument doesn't hold.

Yes ok that’s fine. That’s a good thing to be honest. I don’t see that wrong. I see the missing feature of not having the brightness setting very wrong. If every player set their brightness to 100 then that’s fine. People have personal preferences so maybe most of them would put it 100 anyway but few people would set it below that. It’s a win/win situation if the developers just added the feature in game.
Very few.
Remember being able to see is a balancing issue. Reason why brightness offerings and shadowborn's brightness effect were removed.
Maps are dark because the Devs want them that dark. It's not a platform specific issue as they are too dark on PC too.
The mistake people are making is asking for a brightness bar that would be maxed out by 9/10 players. The 1/10 not knowing one exists. Instead you should ask they increase brightness on maps that you feel are too dark. Same result.
-
DS is still strong. Survivors will use it again.
Happened last time, will happen again.
-
Because everyone would crank it up to 100 anyways?
Killers want to see survivors and survivors want to see the killer.
-
I've always hear about sweat squads and ebony mori killers during PTBs. Since moris are gone its the most toxic builds they can manage.
This is because what you use in PTB doesn't carry over to live. So they break out the good stuff.

Welcome to the PTB!

Don't they close it fast. And I don't wanna get banned. I just finished with the post.
Did I do something wrong?
We have nercos from years ago. Post don't get closed unless they become toxic or they move.

I think that all the exhaustion perks are different enough that they should get individual tweaks like for instance lithe im fine with having a 40 second exhaustion timer, but SB and DH should at the very least have a significantly longer timer
What we have now was fought for with many casualties.
Respect the vets.

Hmm well I don't agree but I respect your view on this.
Personally I wouldn't mind at all if new completely new meta of 4 stealth perks emerged as it would be completely new way to frustrate killers (and me as one of them) compared to the nearly 5 years of 4 second chance perks meta.
I would warmly welcome our new stealth perk overlords if that were to become the new popular thing.

Even in its original iteration, it required conditions greater than DH to activate. I.e. you didn’t automatically gain endurance the first time you are injured.
Still there was no avoiding it once it activated. No timing involved or being somewhere useful. Any hit was ignored.
I had games where a fully healed survivor casually walked out the exit gate. All because MoM was ready.
-
The best time to rank up survivor is during a reset. Teammates are better and good killers avoid the toxic rush. It will calm down after rhe weekend.

To be fair, a lot of outdoor maps already obscure pools of blood a lot if there's enough grass, blood tracking is most effective on indoor maps with bright floor to see the blood properly.
You need to use 3 stealth perks to be able to get to the point of having almost no visible/hearable tracking, that's as good as full build at that point. If you use that many perks, it's supposed to be good at what it focues on. Besides new lucky break is so strong because it packs all of those effects into single one time use (possibly 2) perk.
If you see that survivor lacks blood, sound and sometimes scratch marks, you know he doesn't have other strong perks, no DH, no BT, no DS.
Most killers begin to focus on tracking blood if they can't see scratch marks and even if all of that lacks you can very often be in position where it doesn't matter as you have LOS on the survivor or you can predict their movement.
Even if all these affects were seperate perks, it would be the most powerful build in the game. Being able to freely run without leaving signs for the killer to follow would be meta.
Not having blood, which can be seen in grass just fine, would be a must with the other two.
Not making any noise being the cherry on top. You would undetectable unless you run up to the killer.
As for IW, it has been bugged for years now. It's supposed to surpress only grunts of pain. Not breathing like it does now. BHVR is just to lazy or doesn't care to fix it. You are not supposed to be completely silent.
Having three perks break every way the killer can track would be detrimental to the game. Some limit needs to be made. That's why the one perk that surpresses pools of blood gives you only one health state.
-
Nope, even if you like slugging.

Iron will does the same and it's a fair perk. There are many ways to track survivors, blood is only one of them. And if you're using 4 perks to get all of the effect together, well you're sacrificing all of your perks to make stealth/juking build work insted of Dead hard, DSes, BTs etc.
I truly belive it would be fine. We can use more perks that support stealth and aren't overpowered but just good.
IW is fair because there are other ways to track. The current buffed Lucky Break has a time limit because its so strong. Keeping track of a survivor becomes keeping LoS on that survivor. Thats why the 90s limit.
In a world where IW does exist. A permanent perk that removes blood with no downsides is making a survivor near untrackable. Scratchmarks still exist but there are perks to make you walk faster and run without scratchmarks for set amount of time.
Now, if you were to say no blood for a set time (seconds) after being hit, I could be in favor of it. But not a permanent one.
You can hold your tongue but you can't stop your guts from falling out.
-
sorry
-
@Kebek said:
Make it permanently remove pools of blood.
It's a perk that was designed to hide blood pools, it should stay that way and be the best at it.
Give the new effect of no scratch marks after hit to another perk that is already flavored around them like lightweight.
I really hope there's still a chance to make lucky break permanent no blood pools perk, I really really want it to be that.
No blood is so ######### strong. I cannot imagine a perk like that being permanent.

She's the same.
Some maps have spots where you cannot throw through anymore.
Next mid-chapter will change her addons.

Idk a lot of survivors seem pretty used to using stretched the past 2 years. (Ey my 3,000th post!)
Yes, but stretch res may be a consequence of the Unreal game engine which would be harder to fix and involve Epic Games adding a feature.

BHVR can't increase the speed of light. Latency will always be there.

In the patch notes, it didn't state anything about the pallet stun glitch
Those are PTB patch notes. The bugfix one is tomorrow.

They are bugged. Maybe fixed with tomorrow's patch.

Not doing gens means the average kill rate goes up. This makes the Devs think killer is over powered. Devs nerf killers.

Think your husband is cheating and playing without you.
Rank reset drops you one color ranking.
Red -> 5
Purple -> 9
Green -> 13
Yellow -> 17
Brown -> 20

Also the 2 pip threshold increases every rank color.

Trapper bag needs to add more traps to the map. Not give them to him at the start. Also he shouldn't be able to carry more than 1 at a time.

I P1 them once I've saved up enough BP. The addons and BP offerings don't matter much as I don't usually play those killers/survivors while leveling them. I rather farm points with established killers.
-
In other words, the devs thought that MoM provides enough of a strong enough advantage that it requires stringent conditions to earn it, and requires a downside if used successfully.
Thats where you are wrong. The backlash to MoM was the reason. To the Devs, the effect was perfectly fine to activate after normal hits.
-
Engine updates.
I believe version 1.4.0 was the first update that broke all audio. The Unreal Engine update introduced sound occlusion which hasn't worked right since.
Sound is getting better. Footsteps were completely silient for years but you can hear them now. Mostly outside chase as chase music is so much louder than before.

There are two types of Nurse Blinks FYI
- Blink... and swing
- Blink animation cancel insta-swing
The best Nurse are so confident with their blinks they almost always do the animation cancel insta-swing which can't be Dead Harded reactively. The only possible way would be to assume she was going to hit the blink and dead hard before she even reappeared
animation cancel was supposively patched. Quick hits depends on the survivors latency to the server.
The one thing about dead hard and Nurse is that, baiting out DH and swinging has the same downside. You still need to wait for the blink recharge. Which is one reason why I hate the recharge system. The other being hold W types. Just holding W would get you killed with old Nurse.
-
The ability to M1 so quickly it can't be Dead Harded
Nurse is the one killer Dead Hard affects the most. All others can bait it out.
-
Nurse on a large map is slower than a normal M1. It's only when she passes through objects that distance is made up. Even so, once finding a survivor she has to wait for her blinks to recharge before chasing them.
-
I don't believe you.
One Twin main is already inconceivable.
It's akin to Trickster getting two kills.

Effective tactics will always piss off the other side. I will look at what can be consider fair play vs abusing a system.
I don't find that tactic to be abusive.

You know what I meant
Instead of saying something "slightly", "moderately", "considerably", or "tremendously" increases/decreases something, give specific numbers. The comment above is a good example.
You could assume the reason for this is to tweak numbers without having to change a bunch of descriptions.

God forbid we replace "tremendously" with "10%"
Surely this will overwhelm the people reading perk descriptions in search of useful, specific information about said perks
10% of what? We don't have base numbers either.
