Yeah, I've been playing since March 2018 and boy has it been difficult to play lately.
5K hours and I'm almost thinking of retiring. But then that would mean the game is winning and that's not allowed 🙃
Not playing the Entity's game means you win. It makes you suffer through its trials. No more trials, no more pain.

You can always trust the higher ups of any company to ruin everything good about their product. I also was in the camp of the "maybe behavior doesn't want to kill the environment with NFTs" view but yeah, too bad it was all nonsense and they really do hate everyone and nature.
Hope your stunt was worth it Behavior. Because so far, it suuuuuure sound like it with the people quitting left and right. And yeah, I ain't buying anything from you guys anymore in case it wasn't obvious already.
-
I've never ever faced the Twins on a public match.
-
Map is way too big and confusing to navigate for me. Even as a killer, I have a hard time finding my way to the generators despite being able to see where they all are.
Also I get a bunch of stuttering and frame loss on my PC when I play this map. I don't have that problem with other maps in the game.
-
I gave him a test whirl yesterday and he feels much better to play. When in the good position, you get downs a whole lot quickier and easier, Main Event is an actual threat thanks to its shorter wind-up and you do have to give more thought as to when you should use knives and when you should just either go for a melee attack or just let the survivor go.
All in all, I had time to play 6 games of him and I got a single Entity Displeased. Which is a much better outcome than always disappointing the Entity.

Bloodhound does nothing for spirit.
Blood already glows in the spirit world which is only visible if she's running Father's Glasses (an iri addon).
Predator, here we come! At last you might do something!

My terrible OCD will kick in with that weird number.
Same. 44 just feels like an ugly number. Nothing wrong with it balance-wise, it's just bugging me for no good reason.

If you need a specific perk to play a killer, you probably shouldn't play them to begin with.
Spirit is still strong, hopefully she will just be a little less oppressive.
-
I played over 200 hours of killer and I've only saw that happen once. The survivor who disconnected even stayed in the lobby to say GG to me after the game.
The DC penalty is fine as it is.
-
If you're the last survivor in a trial and you somehow free yourself from the hook without Deliverance, I will respect your win at the lottery and let you leave.
I guess if you play against me, bring Slippery Meat! At long last, this perk could finally do something for you!

It should remove great skill checks completly.
Won't make it stronger vs new players as it is but also won't activilly help experienced ones
Seconded. Other skill check provoking perks (ie. Overcharge, Oppression) do not include the possibility of a great skill check, so I don't see why this one should do this. It's probably more to do with the perk being really old and outdated with DBD's current climate.
-
If you got 1500 hours from this game, I'd say it's not too disappointing of an experience in general? I seriously don't get this mentality from some people. It's okay to say you've outgrown the game and got tired of it, it happens to every game at some point.
Reading your complaints, I'm surprised to see there's barely any words regarding killer gameplay too. Surely you would have found some issues in their gameplay too?
-
Lethal Pursuer is really nice because it gives you a very good idea of the strategy the survivors are going for. You know where to strike first, you know what gen is a waste of time to defend and move on, plus it allows you to call some of the shots the survivors will be going for as the game advances.
Whispers' main appeal is that it gives you an idea of where to look for when you're not sure of your next plan of action or figure out where survivors are hiding when running Corrupt Intervention, but I don't like as much the info it gives. I'll run Whispers if I got nothing else to run or maybe Spies From The Shadows.
-
I'm not sure how I'd fix keys as a concept; they're obviously there as a last ditch attempt to leave a trial where everything went awry. I'd say a problem with keys is how easy it is to get them. Having a key should be a rare occurance and I'd go as far to remove them from the bloodweb altogether. You want a key? Then pilfer chests in the trial until you hit the jackpot.
Otherwise, keys would need some sort of possible counterplay and make the opening of the hatch counterable. Make it so unlocking the hatch takes a few seconds and even make the process trigger a loud noise notification.
-
Hex totems do more noise? I didn't even know that was a thing.
3/4 of the time, if success of the game hinges on someone cleansing a troublesome hex perk, I'll roam all over the map looking for it and find every totem except the one that matters. I had a game with Small Game on and I cleansed 4 dull totems by myself. But I never found the one solitary hex totem that had Ruin in it and we lost the game.
-
I haven't really had to deal with bad people in game lately, most people in the end game chat nowadays just say "gg" and move on.
I feel like a lot of the shittalking happens mainly because of ignorance. People clearly prefer a side of the game over the other and then start to heavily gloss over the details to explain their loss or any game events happening they didn't like. I started out playing killer exclusively (instant queues!) but I feel I've adapted a much more chill attitude to the game ever since I also started to play survivor. This way, I see that the things survivors do when I try to kill them are not as simple as they seem and it does make me appreciate good survivor play more when I encounter it instead of being frustrated I lost as a killer.
I feel some people have unreasonable expectations when it comes to this game and it should be tailored for their competitive needs. Sure, this game is competitive, but it's also assymetrical and as a result it'll never be balanced for both sides equally. We can say whatever we want, but in the end there's no game like DBD out there and its uniqueness make it stand out.
-
The only reason why I wouldn't say the current adept killer system must be changed is because I got my Adept Trickster achievement with 3 kills and a very inspired performance on Mother's Dwelling. Back then I was happy I didn't have to kill everyone to get the award because that was grueling as all hell to do.
-
I haven't used it so all I'll say is merely based on the information available but it feels like a worse version of Empathy as far as information gathering is considered. It's rare you'll stay close to your teammate long enough for the haste effect to be valuable either.
All it does is that the Obsession likely will know the location of one of their teammates more of less often. But I still feel that perks like Kindred, Empathy and Aftercare would be better on knowing the location of teammates and sharing that information. Plus, the fact that it's a dead perk slot if you're the Obsession doesn't help.
-
Congrats for achieving Part 1 on the grind!
Part 2 is making it so that your killers now have every perk. I honestly don't think I'll bother getting Prestige 3 for them since that seems like the ultimate waste of BP. But maybe at some point I'll get this much BP to waste...

But I even saw killers like Huntress running it. In all my 2,000 hours, I don't think I've ever encountered this perk so much.
Ok, this perk is good and all but Huntress isn't a great killer to use it on. Maybe they just don't have anything better to use?

Unrelated to the build, but I've been playing a lot of solo-que in the past few day's, and you will not believe how many people were running Hunted Grounds. Like seriously, this perk showed up almost every single match I played.
Is there some hidden Hunted Grounds meta I'm unaware of?
Haunted Grounds is just a really neat and easy to use hex perk. About every person out there will cleanse a hex totem when they find it and 60 seconds of Exposed on everyone is nothing to scoff at. Even without any good build idea in mind, it's usually a pretty solid perk that gets results. Rarely do I have games where it doesn't activate.
-
I think the moderators of the forum acknowledged it was a known bug. Hopefully they'll have fixed that by July 27.
-
No mercy killing here. I'm a killer and I don't deserve pity.
With that said one time I was messing around with a bunch of survivors as Ghostface and we were just all doing t-bags like idiots at the end of the game when everything was about done. But one survivor decided I should kill them because they were happy to be able to mess around with me. They were clearly gesturing me to hook them but I refused. Survivor ended forcefully sacrificing himself by staying at my side near the exit gate instead of leaving. I was kind of devastated really.
Do I give survivors the hatch? Depends on the game. If I killed all survivors with too much ease I will sometime do it. If people disconnect early in a game for no good reason I will do it. If they plead for mercy or do item offerings I will do it.
-
This build sounds so stupid but funny. I'll try it if I manage to get these four perks on a killer.

Aren't they be instadown already if they take the Plague's power hostage?
Pretty much. They also leave blood trails everywhere, cough loudly and vomit. Even as a M1 killer, all you need from the survivor is a single mistake and they're done.
-
I'm wondering if the creator of this topic ever played survivor because these ideas are the most unfun and broken things I've ever read. You claim you want the game challenging for the survivors, but it should be easy for you, the killer?
You probably should just play bot matches in the incoming patch if you want easy 4Ks every game.

Here are the differences:
- That is one perk countering one other perk. Lightborn counters all blinding items and perks.
- Even new Stridor still helps against healthy survivors with Iron Will (breathing, when working properly). Iron Will only helps survivors in the injured state.
- Iron Will counters one aspect of tracking injured survivors. There are countless others. Lightborn hard stops all blinding items. (And don't forget Plague and Nemesis's infections stopping IW from working at all!)
What would be your thoughts on Plague then? She counters about every healing item and perk in the game and in my books, that'd be far more of an effect than Lightborn would have.
Lightborn, as powerful as it seems, have absolutely no effect if no one brings flashlights and becomes a wasted perk slot. Flashlight saves are nice to perform, but aren't a vital component of the game. After all, you don't need to blind a killer if they don't catch anyone.
In my books, Lightborn is a convenience perk for killers and nothing more. I used it a bunch when I was starting out but I abandonned it after getting more experience with the game.
-
I'll say the game likely went too fast for the Entity's taste. You also won't get full Devout points if survivors get hooked once and never escape. This also will affect your Chase rating since you won't get into many chases if survivors never escape.
Entity usually enjoys trials when they're more tense. If a killer wins too easily, that ironically will hinder your ranking more than a trial where you kill no one but yet everyone barely made it out alive.

This is the easiest one yet. They purposely made it that way and it was in the patch notes. I finished everything by Tome III.
Same, and I'm not even like a hardcore player or anything.
Making the shards easier to obtain definitely made all the difference.

DON'T SELF CARE IN FRONT OF ME CLAUDETTE NO NO NO WHY I NEED MEDICAL HELP BADLY AND GOT HOOKED TWICE AAAH WHY

I agree with changing the daily for Nemesis. About every killer daily in the game can be doable in 1 match, maybe 2 if you're unlucky. So why would Nemesis require you to always play 4 games to get it?
I reroll this daily every time I get it and I like playing Nemesis. I just don't like playing him 4 games in a row.
-
Nurse is by far the least accessible killer in the game, but by no mean they're terrible. People who take the time to master her can literally do what they want with survivors. You have no rules or limitations. Only power.
-
You want the hatch gone? Enjoy 40 minute-long games where two survivors just hide in a corner because doing 3 gens between two survivors is essentially impossible to accomplish in a timely fashion.
The hatch is there for both the killer and the survivor's benefit. It's there so games aren't taken hostage.
-
I only rolled the map once so it's still too early to tell how good/bad it is. But I didn't enjoy my first game on it, I spent the entire game being lost in the maze of corridors. It kinda felt like these old text adventure games where you're told you're lost and you just randomly type north, east, west, south until you somehow get out.
Except this time I didn't get out.
-
I feel the problem with putting Corrupt Intervention basekit in some nerfed form would be that in so doing, you likely neuter the actual perk out of existence as well. Not to mention that survivors wouldn't know whether the gen would be blocked for only a few seconds or for two whole minutes.
Putting it basekit in its actual form? No way in hell. That perk is 5 stars material and you better use a perk slot if you want it.
I had a dumb idea for a secondary objective for the survivors and that would involve finding a part in order to activate the exit gates. There would be two of them in a trial (one for both gates) and they would be in chests. One of them would always spawn in the basement chest, the other would be in a random chest somewhere. My main concern with this would be that this would probably create lots of confusion for the end game as to whoever holds the parts and what not.

Why? When i play survivor, i am playing with team perks (Prove, Borrow, Small Game etc.) chase builds, meme builds etc. What i have to do with Kindred lol. I was using OoO before nerf, it was so good perk but it nerfed already and i do not like other aura perks.
And no, this is not strong perk. I am seeing it so rare. Because auras wont worth to perk slot. But i am glad you are enjoying with Kindred, have fun with it.
But Kindred is a team perk? You do know the whole part about the entire team seeing each others' auras when you're on the hook, right? That helps the entire team decide who should stay behind on gens and who should go perform a rescue.
Not to mention it's great to see where the killer is even headed forward to after the hook has been performed. If that's a bad perk I'd hate to know how many perks of this game are completely useless according to you.
-
Victor inflicts the Incapacitated, Oblivious and Broken status effect on survivors he's riding. Additionally, he reveals any other survivors that are near him.
Incapacitated: You can't repair gens, sabotage hooks, cleanse totems, use items or do any interactions with other survivors.
Oblivious: You can't hear the Killer's Terror Radius or use perks that depend on the killer's terror radius work.
Broken: You can't heal.
-
This whole forum is a bad encounter. I wished people spent more time dwelling on the positives rather than harp on literally every single bad thing this game does in an endless loop. This is literally worse than being in the Entity's world.
It's okay to like a game even though it has some serious flaws. It's also okay to recognize that things are probably not gonna get better either. People who expect this game to suddenly be flawless and without fault have no one to blame but themselves as there's over 5 years of evidence to show there's always gonna be problems and the ride will always be bumpy.
-
What are people gonna complain about next? The fact that the Steam overlay popups are on the upper right and not lower right?
-
So you're saying sticking up for your team is a bad idea?
This whole game is not all about doing generators. If everyone just did that and didn't work together at all, killer would win about every game. You gotta show some courage and backbone to help survivors in distress.
Also WGLF is not all about getting bonus bloodpoints, it's a good perk to help against killers who slug due to the faster heal it provides to dying survivors.
-
I'm personally pretty disappointed by the fact that more than a week after release, none of the crippling problems introduced by this new patch have been solved and there's no news as to whenever they'll be fixed. I was optimistic when I saw the first bugfix patch then disappointed when I saw that about none of the big problems seemed to be fixed.
At least when Trickster came out in his super weak launch state, he was fixed and patched within a week. Now a whole bunch of maps are causing problems, the new map is still broken and a plethora of other stuff is happening.
Behavior should probably take a step back and maybe spend more time preparing and testing their content, even if it means less new content. The fact that the new content comes out in a poorly functionning state typically means that it only starts working when the next chapter release looms ahead, where the new content also poorly performs, which leads a huge trail of half-baked content that needs overhauls but never truly get finished. At one point they should face the entirety of their work and actually make sure that everything is in a truly finished state.

It's a sad state of affairs. They make poor decisions on what to prioritize, when to release stuff, how to fix issues, etc.
Hoarder can't alter the rarity of items in chests because of their spaghetti code. They removed that functionality from Hoarder and said they'll try to work on fixing it, but in the meantime they didn't buff it with anything, leaving everyone to complain that they nerfed an already weak perk.
They nerfed moris and said they're working on changing keys and/or the hatch mechanic. Months later, still nothing. Oh, but they did change Franklin's, killers' best counter to keys, because it conflicted with Nemesis's vaccines. Surely they could've just excluded vaccines from Franklin's effects, but instead they did this, which gives off a very negative perception.
They didn't just fix the cosmetic glitch: they also didn't address at all the reason people were using the glitch. There are plenty of linked cosmetics on original characters that don't have clipping problems, but those remain linked.
Jill's old-school outfit has her default head. People who want that outfit have to purchase a head they already own.
The coming event is basically last year's event recycled, despite how they said after the 2020 Halloween debacle that they were only going to focus on two events per year so they could make those events the best possible.
They shove crowns on the default heads instead of giving it a new cosmetic slot.
People have asked for them to make it possible to make all cosmetics bloody when you prestige a character, because only having bloody default clothes is extremely disappointing. The devs said it wasn't possible. However, when Nemesis infects survivors they get blue goo all over them. This happens to all survivors regardless of what outfit they're wearing, and it is exactly what people were requesting they do except with blood. Is blue somehow easier than red?
Like I said, they do what's easiest. It's a pattern.
Sometimes I feel as if the studio only starts taking more drastic decisions when forced under the spotlight or when there's no easy shortcut as to what to do.
The colorblind mode incident is also a good example of this, which I admit really soured me on the company as it depicted a definite lack of empathy to their userbase.
-
I think it's a viable survivor play to help protect the unhooker with Borrowed Time, but it's also a viable killer play to go after a BT person if they're not trying to get out of the way at all.
There was my highly controversial take on the matter. You can't complain about being tunnelled if you insist on staying in the killer's sight always.
-
This was a bug and was never intended to happen in the first place.
Nemesis' tentacle hit BPs somehow went to the Objective category, which is a survivor category.
-
I got this achievement but I have no merit for getting it as it was incidental. I was the last survivor standing and the gen I was working on was the last one needed and I was done like 5 seconds after the third survivor died.
Then the killer caught me but decided to let me escape through the door instead of killing me.
I told you I had no merit in getting it!

Why does a drug addict keep smoking meth even though he knows it's bad for him?
Don't compare video games to dangerous drugs designed to keep people addicted. They're not remotely the same and you should know it.
You can uninstall a game from a PC and console and you'll stop playing it. You can't uninstall a drug addiction just by snapping fingers.

Point to where I insulted anybody please. I insulted nobody at all. If you are offended I'm amused at the fact that certain people on this forum can't take a moment to appreciate a good moment for this game, that's on you and you should maybe reflect on that.
Frankly, I don't understand why people have to come into a thread saying "Hey look, they broke some records" and be a bunch of wet-blankets. We already have a couple dozen negative threads all over this forum complaining about bugs, performance issues, NOED, Campers, looping, and everything else we see regularly.
I'm sorry you all are such a miserable bunch you can't let anybody have a moment of positivity.
I agree with your sentiments. Personally I barely post on here because the mood on this forum is so often rotten.
I remember a thread where the game was rereviewed lately and had a great score and everyone went "pfff they're wrong, it's a 5/10 at best". And that coming from fans of the game? With fans like these, you don't need enemies.
I know this company has a bad track record with patches and all but to downplay the entire game and its staff because of this is just foul to me. This game is still really fun and I feel people have overwhelmingly unrealistic goals concerning it. If you want the game to be the way you want, you'd literally need a new development studio to take over the game. Because we're not gonna get it with Behavior, for what it's worth.
Is it good or bad? Personally, it is what it is. Sometimes things are better when not looked into so hard. I enjoy the game despite its flaws and I hope many more people will play and like the game for what it is.
-
I don't think friend lobbies are the cause of your defeats. SWF groups do get some advantages over a typical solo player but let's not go that overboard and pretend they're unfaillable. You need to improve your killer gameplay.
Just record a game or two and post them on the forum to ask for critiques. That'd be a good start.
-
I once had a survivor disconnect on me for picking them up on death hook as there were only one other survivor left. Their action led to the last survivor being able to escape through the hatch alive; if they didn't quit I certainly would have had the time and opportunity to catch the last survivor and kill them.
After the game ended, the survivor who disconnected remained in chat and said GG to me. This is where it dawned on me: the person took a DC penalty to ensure the last survivor would live.
A lot of people DC due to salt and hubris, but I really respected that one person.
