I show mercy to players, not to characters. There is no character you could play that would make me more or less likely to show mercy on but how the player acts towards me.
Same.
If you teabag or flashlight click after every pallet stun, you're going on the hook no matter which character you play as.
I've spared some survivors who clearly acted like they were scared, gave up or do item offerings to me. I can't use your items survivors, but I appreciate any attempt at kind gestures.

Seconding Azarov's Resting Place. The map feels so big and it's such a contrast from the main attraction of the map, the office, which is small and puny and tucked in the corner of the map. Say what you will about Sanctum's Wrath for having similar issues, at least the main building is impressive and offers hell of a nice view. It also has a better map flow in general.
Azarov's is just so boring and empty. At this point I'm happier seeing Gas Heaven pop up even though it's one of the worst killer maps. At least the main building is cool.

At least this is not a thread saying that SWF are too powerful. I'll give the poster of this thread points for originality.
I do not agree with their points, but hey, it's something different for once.
-
I feel like Dead Man Switch could be such a perk, but only if they remove the requirement of having to hook your obsession for it to trigger. Have it work for every hook and have it work once every 60 seconds to compensate for its newly found strength.
-
My first result was Clown, which definitely was accurate. I love that big idiot so much.
But then my runner-ups were Legion, Cannibal, Pig and Spirit, which are less than accurate. I'll play these killers when I have a daily ritual for them, but otherwise I don't play them at all.
-
I beat this challenge today, it turns out you don't need to hurt two survivors with Corrupt Purge for the challenge to be beat. Just hitting them is enough.
The way I beat it was to stay near hooks and wait for people to unhook another survivor. As the survivor unhooks the other one, unload at them both with Corrupt Purge. It doesn't matter if the unhooked survivor takes damage or not, just hitting them is good enough for the challenge.
Still agree that the challenge wasn't fun.
EDIT: Just had a very dumb idea. Would it be possible to hook 2 survivors in the basement and then puke on them both while they're hooked? This would meet the challenge's criteria, even though it'd be a stupid way to do it...
-
At this point I'll say Deathslinger because I feel like Huntress is played by so many people it gets kinda boring to play against them.
Also I love his sinister laugh.
-
My boy Dwight is proudly wearing the pride charm right now! Other survivors will follow of course when it'll be time to unlock some more perks.
Can't wait to kill with pride too as well.

Also, the Freddy really abused the map pressure he had from slugging and hooks when only three survivors are in the match.
He literally left people slugged instead of hooking just because he wanted to delay gens and knew he could get away with it.
So you're mad at the Killer for killing? I don't get it.
The Killer is not here to mildly impede your progress out of the trial, he is there to kill you all. Of course he will use tactics to delay the game and prevent you from escaping.
-
I'm an occasional bad survivor and you are welcome to try to kill me anytime.
-
As a killer main, I wished I had survivors that would allow my games to stretch up to 18 minutes like this one did. Never have I seen a high rank game played this relaxedly.
Agreeing with the posters above saying this was not a win by default in the slightest and neither the survivors or killer really wanted to make things complicated for the opposing camp (I kinda cringed when you wiggled out of Freddy's grasp and almost did it again right after, he seemed so lost). Dwight being tunneled out was a bummer, but no one seemed interested to help him out at least delay the killer a bit.
You were absolutely not in a bad place when Dwight died. 3 generators remained but there didn't seem to be a 3-gen setup making a win literally impossible. Your team just... didn't work as a team.

Bob.

Hell yeah, I enjoy nice messages. I'll totally gobble them up every day.
I never go out of my way to message people, but I'll occasionally check if any message is been sent. If you sent me a gg and I get to see it, I'll happily reply to you and wish you a good day.

When you say 'best' are you referring to consistency or just overall strength? Because if we're talking about the overall net regression then Ruin is leaps and bounds ahead of pop, assuming it stays up for at least a little while that is.
I like it best because it's consistent. I haven't brought myself to trust hex perks just because of how quick they usually get cleaned up. Only one I'll bring is Haunted Ground and it gets cleaned every game I run it, even without running any other hex perks.
-
I agree that the achievement for Killer Adept should just be "Kill all 4 survivors using only the default perks". There's a bunch of characters where playing efficiently and using all your powers will actually handicap you of the win because you're doing things too efficiently for the emblem system to notice it.
Hag was one of the worst characters to adept because if you use her traps too well or win your game thanks to Devour Hope, you'll still likely end up with ruthless killer and not even be close to being merciless despite killing everyone.
-
I'd wear or decorate my killer hooks with a pride charm.
I already have many friends who belong in the LGBT community and I'll always stand with them.
-
The worst challenge I remember seeing is "Kill your Obsession 12 times by any means". Unless some clever obsession switching happens, you can only kill your obsession once per game and the possibility remains your obsession won't be among your casualties.
That's a lot of work for not much of a reward.
-
Used to almost exclusively play killer. Now I'd say I play 60% survivor and 40% killer.
I typically ignore the end game chat but I'll pop it up once in a while just to see if anyone's saying anything. Every once in a while, you do get nice surprises and people get friendly. I have yet to lash out at someone for their game actions, I feel it's utterly unnecessary and the community's already on edge enough as is.
So far my leveling up has been scatterbrained as all heck, I put several hundreds hours in killer and yet no killer of mine is close to having all perks. I'll probably prestige the characters I play the most; so far I have Billy, Clown and Trickster at Prestige Level 1. At the very least I did unlock every killer perk. Survivors? So far I have unlocked like 5 perks.
I'll sometimes get really annoyed at the game as a killer because of the feeling that you're supposed to be this all mighty killer out of blood, yet you get defeated by people that just run circles around a car or a wooden structure. As a survivor, my skill level is low enough that I typically get mad at myself for misplays and I will silently get annoyed when for instance, I'm on a hook and the remaining survivor is hatch camping instead of trying to do a rescue.
I haven't bought much cosmetics mainly because they're expensive as all heck for the most part. You typically can get more game content by buying multiple DLCs at the price you'd spend to buy one single outfit!

Trickster is easy enough to play, but tough to do well with surprisingly. With that said he's got great teachable perks and some do work pretty well on their own, which can help out some killer builds. I find him to be a fun killer to mess around with.
Blight is a much harder killer to get into but has enormous potential and is very oppressive due to his high mobility. He's essentially a walking pinball who needs to dash and slam into walls before being able to attack survivors. If you can learn his ways of the dash, he can be very deadly. It helps that he also has add-ons that'll ease you into his playstyle. His only con would be his perks:
- Undying's good but it needs another hex perk equipped in order to feed it.
- Dragon's Grip can be good with some characters and builds but is otherwise average.
- Blood Favor is my pick for being the worst hex perk of the game. It doesn't help that Blight has an add-on which does the same thing this perk does.
You want the better perks? Pick Trickster.
You want the better killer overall and don't mind a challenge? Pick Blight.

I know it's not easy to be nice to Tony, but please at least try to be helpful.
What would constitute being helpful in this case, though? He's clearly not having fun with the character, so why should be keep playing him?
Wouldn't the devs be more inclined to improve a character if no one's playing him?
-
You could also not play trickster since you're not having fun with him. Novel concept but you should give it a try.
-
Wraith can come too in order to provide the music, right?
-
He throws knives very rapidly at people. It takes him a few shots to injure someone, but that tends to happen faster than you'd expect. He's very strong out in the open and short loops.
-
Get Trickster. He has good perks and despite what people say about him, he's very fun to play.
He's underpowered, but nonetheless good fun. You can't be mad at a killer who loves killing.
-
You can't fault survivors for doing the gens fast. That's their job and my job is to try and stop them.
Sometimes I feel unequipped to deal against stronger players but how exactly would you tweak the game so that survivors roughly have the same escape rate all across the board? Many people lament how hard it is to kill survivors in high level play, but make it harder on the survivors based on this data and lower rank survivors will more often that not horribly die without being close to escaping.
DBD's a frustrating game for sure, but taking it out on players for trying to be efficient is not healthy or good to anyone. Things could be better for sure, but until then, let's try to be at least civil after a game's over.

45 seconds literally makes it a one time use perk though. By the time you escape the killer and get healed the timer is gone.
What's the problem with it being a one-time use perk? Many perks, killer and survivor, are single use only. That doesn't make them bad.
Deliverance is single-use and allows you to escape from the hook for free. Decisive Strike has been one of the most powerful perks of the game for years and it's a single use. Adrenaline only activates at the end of a match and gives the survivor a powerful end game.
Killer also has a fair share of powerful one-time use perks. Blood Warden is tricky to use, but if you can lock down the exit gates with it, it can turn an easy survivor win in a massacre. Hex: Haunted Ground gives all survivors a one-time 60 second exposed effect and shouldn't be overlooked. Corrupt Intervention only stays on for the first 2 minutes, yet it's a must run perk for many.
If a perk either allows you to down anyone or escape from a killer, it being one-use is irrelevant in my eyes. A strong effect can very easily compensate.

Have a 851th endorsement for Wraith. I'm kinda baffled that he's labelled as an Intermediate killer, he is actually pretty easy to use.
Surprised that Bubba's not getting any more love since he's also pretty beginner-friendly. He has somewhat poor mobility (especially compared to Wraith) but no one does close quarters downing better than him. He has a relatively low skill ceiling compared to other killers but man does he get good results.
-
I'd say the only tweak the hatch need would be for keys to have a possible counter to them, like hatch opening not being instant or something alike.
But the hatch spawning for the final survivor is not a problem and will never be.
-
The gnome spawns when the EGC starts. Every 90-120 seconds he can switch locations if not found. This is marked by the giggling sound heard everywhere through the map.
The giggling is not an indication of where he is, you'll always hear the giggling the same no matter where you are on the map.
I found mine on a jungle gym structure against one of the walls, those would be a good place to start looking.
-
This thread inspired me to give gnomes to my next batch of survivors as a Killer. I got mine and it's definitely time for payback.
-
In one of my trials lately I did terrible as killer but somehow had a survivor die to the EGC without me seeing them, chase them or anything.
I guess I know why now!
-
I went from rank 6 to rank 12 as a killer. At least it gave me an excuse to try and get Adept Trapper! I'll try going for Nurse and Twins next.
I didn't look at my survivor rank but I was rank 13 before rank reset.
EDIT: My survivor rank is now 20. Ouch.
-
Flashlight saves are not only part of the game, but are an integral part of survivor gameplay. Are the survivors just supposed to stay frozen in place and watch the killer hook the survivor?
No, you make that mofo's hook as hard as possible to get. You played well and you even made the killer salty as a result. Congrats :)
-
Last update had chests have a much higher chance to give very rare items so keys were common as all heck to find. But last patch have fixed this issue so item rarity should be back the way it was.
Last patch I had survivors escape with keys like 1 match out of 4, now it's appropriately much rarer again.
-
Just fail two skill checks in a row if you wanna die early.
The new struggle is great because I don't have to mash my space bar like a monkey. With that said it'd be great if the devs brought back BP for struggling on hook.

Mothers helpers are actually pretty good now so long as you have enduring
True, but I still don't like the idea of having to run specific perks just to get mileage from an add-on.
-
When I started playing not long ago, I really liked Billy a lot. Dashing all across the map with a chainsaw is great. He's really fun to play... in the easy ranks that is.
In higher level play you definitely see the shortcomings of his character more. He's kind of tricky to use his loops. And sadly, his addons are of no help for problematic situations. Barring the Lopro Chain and the addons that improve his steering, I wonder if the person who designed his add-ons even played the character at all.
Make the chainsaw cool better when Flashlighted? Gaining Undetectable during a Chainsaw dash? Making your Terror radius smaller when your Chainsaw is unusable? Or make your chainsaw charge slightly faster... after being stunned by a pallet?!? Not sure how this is supposed to help me?
It feels as if the more interesting killers can be taken in many different play styles with add-ons, but most of Billy's are unusable or require you to put yourself in detrimental situations as the Killer to use them. Normally, you'd use add-ons to avoid bad situations, not to create bad situations for you to be in.
-
I'm a killer main who've been playing more survivor lately, and honestly survivor gameplay is pretty chill in general. You work on gens while occasionally keeping an eye out for killer and apart from the times when you get chased (I'm still bad at this part of the game), it's a super relaxing experience. It can get annoying when the killer camps and people risk their hides trying to go for a rescue instead of doing gens, but that's solo queue in a nutshell.
I really don't know what drives people to want to be mean to the killer. I'd say respect to your fellow player is important no matter who you play as.

So what makes him bad again?
According to this guy he takes like 12 whole seconds to uncloak and is so loud you could hear him at Coldwind Farm while he's in Gideon Meat Plant. That's clearly how bad he is!
-
I play with friends on comms but most of us are in the double-digit ranks and suck. I also am a killer main and the last thing I'll ever do is smack talk or make fun of my fellow kin.
Being on comms is no guarantee the person will act like an ass. Many solo players will do the same thing.
-
OP, you should try playing Killer one day. It's actually fun and newcomers are always welcome!
-
This topic just sounds as if the author had a bad wraith game and needed to vent.
I'm very happy with how Wraith is right now and my only bad games with him lately happened because I was trying to adept him. With the right perk loadout, he's a beast. Add-ons make his game even more dangerous.
Just don't be obvious and try to approach survivors head on. Make sure you make your way to gens using the least obvious path possible. Even though you're invisible, act as if you're not.
-
Camping is not against the game rules. It sucks for the survivor involved but it's a tactic like any other.
If killer camp, survivors can just mass repair gens and leave the trial in a few minutes without being bothered. Campers won't get to a high rank with this strategy and likely depip as a result.
-
I like it when people are offered alternatives to try having more fun but just go "NO! I REFUSE!"
At least you gotta admire the fact they seem to know what they want?
-
"Oh #########"
Sadly that doesn't work well with the word filter, or does it?
-
DS in the endgame is what DS used to be during the whole game before its nerf. If you're somehow constantly foiled by it during the last 10% of the game, there's something very wrong with your game plan as a killer.
DS is fine the way it is. If you keep getting hit by it, maybe stop going after people who got freshly unhooked or defend yourself against unhookings better.
-
I really enjoy playing Wraith because he actually feels intimidating to play as now. He's pretty good to get that first hit in and patrol gens faster, but he still gets defeated by people splitting up and working on gens all over the map. I'd say the only difference between old wraith and new wraith is that the new version's going to injure a few people and get hooks no matter what, but he's definitely not guaranteed to have kills.
Stay mindful of your environment and try to stay close to structures, buildings or anything else where there is a pallet or window to vault through. He's fast to creep up on you, but once he's uncloaked he's nothing special.
