You could make this argument about any killer in the game.
Fact is, blight is super strong in a chase and can run whatever perks he wants.
People run that build either because it’s optimal or because they don’t know how to use his power well enough to wean off ruin undying tinkerer.
Yes, it is optimal. Every Killer has an optimal build, and Blight is a good Killer. I fail to see an issue when 2 of his perks can go within 20 seconds of the game.

Or you can not be a sweat lord that needs a 4k every match and just play...you know...for fun? The choice is yours buddy.
Winning is fun.

How to fix Billy: Take away the overheat mechanic. Boom fixed him, ez pz lemon squeezy. It was an awful decision that only made a fun Killer not fun. Dumbest decision the Devs have made to date, and that says a LOT.

Blight has superior mobility to Billy. And heaven forbid that the poor #3 killer in the game who has insane addons actually has to M1 loop sometimes like 80% of dbd killers.
Heaven forbid a Killer be decent without someone whining and moaning for them to be ruined and nerfed until they are mediocre like most Killers in the game.

You do realize a decent slugging nurse is without a doubt the most powerful killer in this game.
I have absolutely no idea at all why you would even bring this up but okay

@lauraa said:
I don't understand why Blight isn't a 110 killer. It's one of life's greatest mysteries besides Deathslinger being a ranged killer while having a tiny TR, but Huntress and Trickster apparently need lullabies.
Why isn’t Billy 110? Oh right, both of their powers are damn near useless at strong loops. Go ahead, play Blight at 110 on Hawkins. I WISH so deeply I could see you even try, it’d be hilarious. What a joke.
-
Aww, he had a bad game against a slugging Blight and now he hopes Blight gets nerfed. Pffffft, give me a break. A Billy could have done that and he’s already been gutted and ruined.
-
@RenRen said:
People really don't like blight huh.
Of course they don’t, he’s a strong Killer.l that’s fun to play and hard to learn. Everyone wants a baby Trapper they can loop for 2 minutes while 4 gens pop.
-
Cut the first tentacle strikes speed boost in half. No reason it should give a full sprint burst when they aren’t even being injured. What’s next, Survivor gets a sprint burst when exposed? How about blinded or oblivious?
-
Blighted Demogorgon... rip
-
Killer is allowed to do whatever is needed to win. Because unlike Survivor, Killer is actually stressful and difficult. Unless the Survivors are actual garbage, Killers like Myers aren’t getting all 3 hooks on 4 Survivors. It simply is not happening.

@DeliciousFood said:
Blight isn't that hard to play, although he can be frustrating and lead to many mistakes even by those that play him often. The silver lining is that even if you suck with lethal rushes, you can still be on a survivor's backside in a flash. So obviously he's got overwhelming map pressure even if people suck at him.
But the real issue is slowdown stacking and addons. Stacking slowdown on this guy feels like you're facing the perks rather than the killer. It's boring, overused and gives people that aren't actually good as killer more ranks that end up skewing the matchmaking even more. Which then leads them to tunnelling/camping compulsively because they realize without help they can't get as many wins.
His addons are also disgusting. Alchemist ring and blight crow are extremely common and just make me want to die. But yeah I can see why people dislike Blight. He's giving off Freddy/Spirit vibes with how easily he stomps solo games these days. Actually, I feel like the new awful duo is Wraith/Blight. Easiest killers to 4k all the time with.
“Blight isn’t that hard to play” said the person who has clearly never played Blight lol. Without landing Lethal Rushes he’s no different than Billy. Just an M1 Killer with lots of speed from point A to point B.
-
@hiken said:
i mean yes he is extremely unfun to go against because they always un the same perks that makes the game last forever, or maybe impossible to progress except for him.... however the only thing that i would nerf of him are the stupid big hitbox he has, then i would nerf his compound 33 and ring, maybe the green speed addon aswell, he is ndeed unfun to go agaisnt.
That ‘stupidly big hitbox’ is needed because Blight turns like a fat person on a Walmart scooter.
-
He requires a lot of skill and is difficult to play. If anything he should be buffed by fixing the stupid sliding players have to deal with. You play a game with Blight and see how easy it is when you slide off your 4th tree in a row.
Honestly if a Killer isn’t stronger than Nurse, they are fine.

Then you're gonna fight a pointless war.
You make the claim the other side gets nothing, I hope you have undisputed proof that this is correct.
…The proof is that Killers get nothing when going against SWF. They gain nothing by playing against a team with a huge advantage. All they get is often an incredibly difficult and stressful game.

Even good loopers are getting downed by Wraith. It is not so hard with strong addons. I would say what you really need Nemesis but you can change DMS to Ruin, Surge or PGTW for sure.
Wraith is easy and boosted to hell and back so yeah. His addons make Killers like Pyramid Head's look like dollar store toy isle trinkets

Then you should know that Devs will not balance this whatsoever.
Their discord has channels for joining and making SWF squads.
Do you want to do something about this? Then look toward the BP grind and nothing more.
Sorry, but I'll keep talking about it and how unbalanced it is until the game shuts down for good. There are 2 sides to this game and one side needs their fair share. One side has a blatant advantage and the other gets nothing. And until that changes I will always argue and discuss this.

I've seen many tier lists and this sure is one of them

I don't know if I'm in the minority, but I don't want extra points or any bonus for playing against people who are just playing with friends. It makes me feel weird and dirty even with the grind this game has. I don't expect to 4k every match and quite frankly I don't want to/no one should.
If we (ie buff movement speeds per member of swf) then I feel like it's just going to become a crutch, I won't be challenged, and because of that I won't get better and just overall feels like I'm getting a massive advantage because a few friends are just shooting the ######### after work. I just want to play the game normally and if I lose, it's just more motivation for me to get better.
All I want the gap between swf and solo to lessen (basekit kindred, limited basekit bond, etc). Every killer faces a SWF on a daily basis without probably even realizing it - most likely duo's and probably very uncoordinated (see: my swf when we play every so often).
Because when the SWF plays well and communicates, loops properly, does gens spread out properly, run meta perks, bring tool boxes with brand new parts and Prove Thyself, it is simply not balanced. No matter how good of a Killer you are or which Killer you are playing, if they play and perform at the highest level, there is simply not very much you can do, with an exception for Nurse specifically. She can handle it, Myers can't (unless they mess up and he's Tombstone or something silly).

By giving a speed increase to the killer against a SWF, you are punishing SWF.
By this logic any buff for Killer is punishing Survivors. You see it as a punishment, I see it as giving the Killer the balance they rightfully deserve. Why shouldn't the Killer be given help when their opponents get massive advantages completely for free?
-
Plague, her playstyle invalidates Iron Will and medkits.

Huntress, Nurse, Oni, Myers, Pig, Deathslinger, and Demo.

Pretty much.
OP forgets that not all SWF are Comp teams and playing for fun, even if they communicate. When I play in SWF, we sometimes are drunk, high or very tired due to playing very late at night. We're not Navy Seals, I tell you that much.
Should we be punished for wanting to play with friends?
It's not about punishing SWF, it's about buffing the other half of the entire game. Also, yes you still have a massive advantage over SoloQ Survivors and the Killer, even when not being a super good team. The advantages you have don't magically disappear or become fair.
-
@Pilot said:

- Unlike Killers, SoloQ survivors will have a more miserable time playing the match.
- SoloQ survivors are essentially alone, they have to fight the killer on top of their teammates most of the time.
- Killers who had a bad game will get compensated, through BPs. What am I gonna get if I get tunneled and camped very early in the game by a scummy killer? I tell you what, jack #########. At least they get stacks of BBQ on top of their offering if they brought one and the one from a survivor.
- Have u played during the anniversary? Do I need to tell you how many times I've been camped & tunneled when there were 5 cakes on the line and ended up with less than 10k, sometimes less than 6k BPs whilst the killer at end of the match got 20-25k+ ? Poor killer...
Killers have BPs oozing out their rears unlike survivors and especially SoloQ survivors. Do you want to buff one side? Good, then buff the BP gain for example on Solo Survivors & give killers more quality of life features that they could all benefit from.
Yes, SoloQ absolutely deserves buffs as well. They should be able to see teammates within 24 meters of a hooked teammate, they deserve more bloodpoints, etc. My reason for buffing Killer specifically is that Killer has the most stressful role in the game. Sitting on a gen for about a minute is nothing compared to having to balance 4 players and gen progress.
-
Not if it makes queue times worse, no.

@Pilot said:

The killer definitely needs more Bloodpoints when going against a SWF, the Offering & the 4 stacks of BBQ + The occasional cake / BPs from survivors is clearly not enough. I clearly earned nothing just like u mentioned here:
one side has a blatant advantage and the other side gets nothing
--
But when the Killer loads INTO the match, they can be given a handicap. Bonus movement speed based on who joined together as a party, 2 Survivors gives 1% to 4 Survivors giving 4%. 2 and 2 would give 2%, 1 and 3 gives 3% naturally. This is just spit balling off the top of my head.
Let's not give another reason to people to not play the game, yeah? Why should they be punished for playing with friends, OP?
Because by the nature of the game, SWF specifically have a massive advantage compared to Solo Survivors and Killer. Neither of the 2 mentioned get any form of compensation despite this, it is simply, objectively, unbalanced. If people quit the game because it became balanced, Idk what to tell you. I was just spit balling, my ideas are not the only solution available.
-
@Grandpa_Crack_Pipe said:
Giving a permanent bonus to the killer for going against 2-3 man SWFs would inevitably end up punishing the solo que players unlucky enough to end up in the wrong match.
I've suggested it before, and i'll do it again-- if you're really set on giving the killer a gameplay bonus, if you're in a match against a SWF, give a level of Bloodlust corresponding to the size of the SWF when in chase with one of the members. That way, the solo queues can play the match like normal whilst getting a distinct advantage against the SWF.
Very good idea!
-
@ThiccBudhha said:
I would take bonus bloodpoints. The movement speed seems unfair for any solo in the lobby, and heck, it is kind of unfair for the SWF too.
SWF is unfair too but it’s not changing, so… sorry. A bonus 1-2% movement speed because of SWF is not that game changing. 4% is big but that’s only against a full SWF. Regardless this is just an idea of course.
-
@Orion said:
BP bonus is not the way to go, IMO. Paying killers to not have fun sets a bad precedent.
It beats getting nothing I'm afraid.
-
@Yui_TheBeauty said:
They should also buff solo as well, it's extremely weak compared to SWF's.
Yes they absolutely should. For basic info you are forced to run stuff like Kindred just to see what the hell everyone is doing. The game by default should show any Survivor within 24 meters of a hooked teammate to all allies.
-
@Pulsar said:
"We all know no survivor has a chance against a good Nurse, Blight, Huntress or Spirit."
Most Solo Survivor's have no chance. SWF and high-level Solo's can pretty easily beat Huntress and Blight.
Because SWF is broken and despite it being Broken Killers get NOTHING to compensate, not a single thing. Not even Bloodpoints.
-
Devs nerfing niche and fun perks into being completely worthless because like 2 Survivors whined about it. Killers run the same like 10 perks because vast majority of them are GARBAGE, they suck. Why should Shadowborn only give FOV? Give all Killers 5 more FOV by default and they adjust Shadow Born and Monitor and Abuse to compensate. I'm not asking for an FOV slider but come on, it's not fun or engaging, it's ANNOYING and it's designed that way on purpose for whatever reason.
Fire Up useless, Huntress Lullaby shouldn't be a Hex, Blood Favor is a Hex with an effing cooldown because it was soooo strong???? Monstrous Shrine is a joke, Beast Of Prey could be good but instead it's mediocre and lame, Gearhead was good then nerfed, Coup De Grace was good but then got nerfed into the dirt so hard it dug to China, I could go on and on and on.
Even niche perks that are decent really aren't THAT decent. Lightborn is cool but why run it over something like Corrupt or Pop? Play With Your Food is fun but why bother when you can run Undying to try and protect your Ruin (let's be honest, both are going within 30 seconds into the match).
It's just frustrating. They have the data on which perks aren't being used and yet they never touch them. Show me how many people are running Beast Of Prey. I want to see the number.
-
Devs make decent and fun perks just to nerf them into uselessness. I fully expect Deadlock to be nerfed and made into pure garbage. Every time they make a decent and unique perk they ruin it. Coup De Grace should gain tokens from hooks, not gens done. 5 lunges is garbage and is frankly embarrassing.
-
@TAG said:
Why not make it only trigger once per generator or something? That way, Ruin can't just constantly reset the trigger condition over and over.
Why don't you go and cleanse Ruin then? That way it won't proc multiple times.
-
Of perks in this game that need nerfs, Tinkerer doesn't even break top 5 imo. When you know the killer has it you can counter it. If you don't, that's your fault.
-
It should either be a Hex with no cooldown or a normal perk with a cooldown. No in between. Also buff its range.
-
2 nurses easily. Assuming the maps will be bigger to compensate, any killer with no movement is already gonna be terrible.
-
The problem is maps are TOO BIG. And the Devs keep putting them out. Hawkins, RPD, Midwich. These maps are torture and NOT FUN for Killers with no movement options besides waddling to gens like a slow ass penguin.
-
Pray they make mistakes, because if they don’t you have no chance. A good experienced team on comms will stomp an average Killer + player controlling them 90% of the time.
-
Problem is big maps plus no other objectives. No Devs, dull totems are NOT an objective, do not sit here and lie to me that these matter besides NOED out of like 1 every 10 ish games.
When more gens get done, let’s say 3, make a Entity Key spawn that is needed to unlock the remaining generators. 2 keys spawn on the map in 6 set locations, and when a key is used a new one spawns after 20 seconds. A Survivor who doesn’t use they key after 1 minute loses the key and a new one respawns.
-
@KerJuice said:
This is why they should have never got rid of the original Ruin. And undying shouldn’t have been nerfed either. And there should be a perk to add more totems to the map like survivors have the coins to add more chests to the map. But fear not OP, Pinhead is bringing a gen slow down perk with him and It seems decent.
Devs will nerf it don’t worry. Already seeing people whining about Deadlock.
-
Trapper starts with more traps. Devs please.

@Rez_Marsiel said:

Ah yes, well here's the problem with that. Deadlock is a SLOWDOWN PERK that buys a guaranteed 2 minutes JUST LIKE CORRUPT.
And? The problem is? Do a separate gen.
-
I think you are exaggerating and just want the perk to be nerfed into uselessness. It's a good slowdown perk to keep gens from popping like popcorn when the Killer makes the horrible mistake of having 1 bad chase. Tired of seeing people complaining about it when it is not as good as Ruin/Undying, Corrupt, Tremors, etc
-
@Marik13 said:
The weird thing is the tentacle is supposed to apply hindered which...gets negated with the speed boost hit. So....why even bother having the tentacle apply hindered? It makes 0 sense at all. Why actively design something to counter itself like that? It'd be like if after using DS you can't move until 1 second before the killer recovers from the stun. Kinda negates itself.
I have no clue, it's so pointless and poorly thought out. It doesn't even last more than like, a second or 2.
-
The problem is and always has been generators. I already see people calling for Deadlock from the Hellraiser chapter to be nerfed because it actually buys the Killer time with gens, and it is such a crock of so-and-so.
Good Survivors will do 3+ gens when you go on a chase against another for more than a minute. It’s ridiculous.
-
Trickster is NOT fun to play against, some of yall are straight up lying.
-
This is a very important question. I'd love a small last kiss on him before he leaves, like his shred causing mangled or something.
