This is known yes. Even competent Solo players can be hell to go against.

just like how all Hex perks are very good and meta?
just because Boon totems are survivor perks does NOT mean the effects will be strong. at least wait until the effects are revealed before you complain.
I am complaining because it is a terrible concept. If the perks isn't good why bother even adding it, and if it is good that's 4 totems the Killer has to find. It's an awful idea.

This made me laugh only because Bubba is probably one of the most balanced killers in the game, they'd never hurt him.
Lol don't underestimate them, they ruined Billy and they ruin your favorite Killer next. "Balanced" to them is too strong.
-
Boon totems being ANOTHER objective given to the Killer but Survivors have no changes.
Hackers not being dealt with VERY soon.
No new map reworks/new maps in general soon.
Nerfs to Killers who need none, only Killers that need a nerd are Nurse and maaaybe Spirit. Literally everyone else is either fine, are in need of some heavy buffs or they need their addons nerfed/buffed.
-
I posted a thread about how we could possibly limit popular perks that are frequently ran together to increase build variety, like card games like Yugioh Duel Links does
Put Ruin, Undying, and Tinkerer at Limit 2. Put them in a hat and draw 2, those are what you are allowed to use. You cannot use the 3rd perk.
-
Hatch is a mechanic meant to satisfy one Survivor with a cheap pity win because their team is losing to the Killer.
Scenario #1: Your teammate is on hook and the Killer is looking for you. You camp on Hatch hoping for a free escape and passively wait for your teammate to die. You accomplished nothing all game and hid in a bush every time you felt the Killer was near.
Scenario #2: Your team got DEMOLISHED, no gens were completed and you are the last person alive. As the Killer is about to finish you off, you luckily stumble across Hatch and the Killers hard work and skill is now slapped in the face.
Scenario #3: You brought a key and a Hatch offering. Midway through the game, you and 3 Survivors leave through Hatch. You suck at Dead By Daylight and need cheap BS to win.
Scenario #4: You plundered a key by sheer luck. 1 Teammate is dead, you find Hatch and abandon your other 2 teammates and leave them in a game now severely crippled by you escaping.
NOTHING about this mechanic is fun or interesting. It's cheap, tasteless, undeserved and selfish.
-
Nope. It should be Survivor gaining new objectives, not Killer. If they are weak no one will use them and if they are strong now Killer has to run around and potentially find 4+ totems, which would murder the game in terms of Killer players being available.
Until Survivors get another proper objective they HAVE to do, or at least EXTREMELY encouraged, this addition will only hurt the game.
-
That game lets you murder the Killer, I can only imagine how hellish the balancing will be.
DBD does one thing right, it feels like a proper cat and mouse game. Now give the mouse a gun, doesn't seem very appetizing imo.
Also the trailer was awful, like someone vomited it together in an hour.

Well, they don't. It's a tool to help in chase, not a "secondary objective", or is dropping pallets an objective to you?
It's an asset they are obligated to use to their benefit, but is a natural part of the game that flows well and adds to it. Breakable doors were a time wasting Band-Aid solution to terrible loops that let Survivors run circles around Killers for 30+ seconds with no consequence.

This is DBD. Every Patch Killers claim that one Survivor Perk will be OP, and it never was. Survivors did not have good Perks since David was released, this will not change with Boon-Totems.
And even if, they can complain once they are live. But it is just silly to complain about something which is not even released at all.
We have enough info to know WHAT they are going to be and how they are going to function, which could of course be changed. IF it is a Hex perk for Survivors, the premise alone is terrible. You could have 19 terrible Boon perks and only the single 1 that is really good and worth running would make the game miserable for Killer.
-
@GrimoireWeiss said:
Why not wait until tuesday to complain about it? If the boon perk is something like "+20% healing speed bonus while the boon is active" this post is going to look like a joke.
Also, how dull totems aren't an objective but breakable walls are? You can still kill survivors without breaking a single wall. That's like saying getting rid of pallets is an objective.
Killers HAVE to break certain walls to make certain loops actually manageable, I could say "Oh well Survivors don't NEED to drop pallets".

Third Seal exists, as does Crowd Control and Blood Favor.
Hex perks don't necessarily equal strong effect.
Yes but these perks also aren't very good at all as a result sadly.
-
Survivors have wiggle room to mess around, Killers do not. It is 16 perks vs 4, it's not even a discussion.
-
@Pulsar said:
Yeah, Survivors need a second objective.
However, Boon Totems could be "All Gens repair themselves at 50% speed until this totem is cleansed" and it could also just as likely be "Survivors aura-reading range is extended by 2 meters until this totem is cleansed."
I imagine they have to be stronger than non Boon perks yes? Dead Hard and Unbreakable aren't Boons, so how does one make a Boon better than them without breaking the game? It is simply not a good idea, at least not yet.
-
Just nerf the busted Wraith addons where he is totally silent and can see your auras at all times and I am happy.
-
I don't recall this ever being discussed but it should definitely be added.
Kicking a Gen should by default take off 5% of it's progress always and to stop the regression Survivors should need to work on it for bare minimum around 2 to 3 seconds. Being able to negate a Killers regression mid chase with a single tap is just dumb, and shouldn't be a thing at all.
-
Make it base kit to see fellow Survivors. Killer shouldn’t be shown though.
-
Can’t go wrong with Myers and Monitor & Abuse.
You’re not a very strong Killer, but unless they have Spine Chill you’ll be putting the fear of God into them.
Do Corrupt, Deadlock, M&A and Bamboozle and you’re a silent monster that vaults windows like an Olympian.
-
Yes, Gen Slowdown in any form is needed and WGLF/BBQ are needed because Bloodpoints are a joke normally.
-
That would make playing Killer better and more fun. So no this will never happen, sacrifice one of your 4 perk slots (vs Survivors 16) to have good basic vision.
But these are the Devs who had to be bullied into adding proper color blind options so this should surprise nobody.
-
BBQ is too good to pass up sadly. Free info and bloodpoints. If they ever fixed the grind maybe I’d take it off for Discordance.
-
Take out Dark Sense and Prove thyself for Windows of Opportunity and Open Handed.
SEE ALL. NONE WILL ESCAPE YOUR SITE.
-
Shadowborn is a pathetic perk because it’s a perk that some feel forced to use just so the damn game’s FOV feels good.
THE FOV SHOULD NOT BE TIED TO A PERK.
and if you INSIST on doing so, does it have to be so damn much? Why not add 5 FOV to all Killers and adjust the perks accordingly?

To be fair, you can already tell the telepathic ones are together. Hardly need the game to confirm that.
I know, but it'd be funny to see them try and trash talk when there's a shiny lil icon that says "we're sweating super hard on Discord right now"
-
For Killer? Yes since it's 4 vs 16, for Survivor? LOL
-
Do totems, look for hatch, try and plunder a key. Worst case scenario I wait for the Killer to close hatch so I can get a cheeky escape waiting at the door.
-
No reason to not show this info. Some Survivors just want Killers thinking they aren't SWF and are just telepathic Gods, you aren't very impressive being a 4 man on comms.
-
Only 1 perk in the game tells me you are a bad player, and that is NOED. Everything else is fair game.
-
Yep, Devs just don't care enough about console to add it. Game has crossplay and keyboard/mouse is not expensive in the slightest, so there is no excuses for why it SHOULDN'T be on console. But the game on older gen is still broken to all hell and back, and keyboard/mouse support doesn't make money like cosmetics do, so it's probably never coming.
Same with cross progression, remember that? HA

Canon Nemesis is an absolute behemoth who can walk through brick walls casually without even trying, Oni is a large man with combat experience and melee weapons.
He tries to hit Nemesis just for his parasite to immediately pierce his armor into his stomach, followed by Nemesis picking him up with ease and tearing him in half.
It's not a contest.
-
Since Pinhead sucks, yes. Please just let him run a perk that isn't slowdown, I don't want this nerfed just for people to cry "OMG all Killers run the same builds :((((("
-
Hag does not belong in Dead By Daylight
-
Freddy in the dream realm may as well be God.
I only saw the first 2 Hellraiser films but Pinhead just seems to be a man turned demon who obeys the Leviathan. He was promptly killed by the Doctor, and came back as an obelisk I guess?
He’s strong but I’m not seeing anything he does that is super crazy.
-
It's better than Pop, so for that reason alone I like it

Lol

The devs don’t like to do small buffs. It either has to be a part of an add on pass or a total rework. Even then every small buff usually comes with a trade off.
Which is an incredibly poor way of thinking. Let’s look at Clown, he got a rework right? Whole entire other bottle type added, so now what? Do we just wait until he gets reworked again?
Clown is not good, I feel confident in this statement. He got better, which is nice, but still not good. So the fact that he among other Killers in a similar situation haven’t been changed yet is so confusing.
Any game that cares about competitive balance cannot be afraid of small changes. Sometimes all it takes are slight changes in mere numbers to take something from mediocre to decent and fun. Pig crouching faster like Ghost Face would change nothing besides making Pig players have more fun.

If survivors have time to do hex totems, then killers have time to do boon totems.
Killer mains have gotten off too easily with "jUsT dO tOtEmS" every time someone complained about OP hex perks, and now that they have to do totems themselves, we are witnessing meltdown after meltdown.
It's a 4 vs 1 with the 4 having 16 perks vs the Killers 4. SURVIVORS have time to do totems, KILLER goes on a 45 second chase and 2 gens pop.
These are not the same. And you don't play Killer.
-
In general escaping is kinda weird and lame, 99ing gates is strange and imo shouldn't be a thing, I don't know why the power doesn't slowly drain when off of it. It would add more pressure which could be cool.
Besides that Hatch just sucks and isn't very enjoyable mechanically speaking for either side.
-
Because they don't play Killer. Simple, anyone who has played ONE high rank game of Killer would understand why Boon totems are such a horrible idea.

What's the point of discussing with u if all u say is "No, you" you dont have a counter argument. Lol
There's nothing to argue, you're simply wrong. You do have time to do totems.

I really hope so, I love the unique character skins having their own voices. Jonathan's new voice is fantastic!

So that's your counter-argument? "U dont know what you're talking about" is basically what u said.
If anything u talk like someone who only play killer
Because the stuff you talk about and say is wrong. You absolutely have time to do bones as Survivor. The best players do so consistently.
-
I bought it for the perks, due to how weak he is and his lines being removed I have zeroooo interest in playing him.

Sacrificing a perk slot for something that might not happen is pretty stupid. And if the killer is pressuring a lot that perk is usseles, cause u either let ur team mate die by doing the gen so u can see the aura or u rescue him and probably get chased.
And anyways I dont really know if you're saying the true or not, cause u can easily say that so it matchs ur argument (without any proof about it) I can easily say dogs can fly.
"It's not your fault nor the killers if your teammates are awful and don't last 2 seconds in a chase"
hey i can say the same about the boons: It's not the survivors fault if the killer is awful and can't pressure the gens so he's able to break the boons.
There's no time to do bones if the killer is pressuring, u either kill ur team by doing the totems or u do the gens and risk a noed
Detectives Hunch is the best perk in the game for finding Hex totems.
You talk like someone who doesn’t play Killer or Survivor, your insight is not very good at all.

I don't know, but at least how it used to be in red ranks. I would see undying with ruin at least in half of my matches. So it's a pretty popular combo. But either way it's 99% confirmed at this point boon totems are coming. So just the bones if they do come.
Killers should not have an extra objective. They have no time. Anyone who thinks this is okay does not play mid to low tier Killers in high ranks. If you hate seeing Blights Spirits and Nurses now, oh BOY just you wait.

Solo survivors dont have time either, if they're being pressured they can only focus on gens. Imagine looking for totems as a solo survivor.
I LOOK FOR TOTEMS AS A SOLO SURVIVOR, I RUN DETECTIVES HUNCH. I have stopped MULTIPLE NOEDS from going off. You absolutely have time, it’s not your fault nor the Killers if your teammates are awful and don’t last 2 seconds in a chase.
If your teammates are at the very least competent, you have time.
-
You OBJECTIVELY don’t have time. Imagine looking at someone like Clown or Trapper and demand they waste what little time they have looking for possibly multiple ######### totems. Just stop.
-
@Trickstaaaaa said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2478219#Comment_2478219
Killer won't have to look for bones. If we assume undying works as is, then you would be able to see survivors. And we don't know if the perks are worth running, they might another batch of useless/niche perks. Or they may be like killer hex perks they may be high risk high reward perks. So they may be up for less then a minute, and overall be one less meta perk killers have to worry about.
Not everyone wants to run Undying and if the Perk is good enough you will absolutely have to look for it. Otherwise Boons are useless. The fact is there is only ONE Killer who is heavily restricted in time as is, you cannot afford to go totem hunting.
