The only solution is to make people joining a Lobby as a GROUP automatically designated League play. That way we acknowledge they have a superpower Perk called Comms. That way they will either automatically be put against a higher Rank Killer or such Team Players will have greater issues to deal with like needing another Generator over standard to power the gates. I'm sure other balancing obstacles to balance the comms is possible.

I don't have four mates who own the game, just my sister who I play with on occasion and sometimes my brother in law. If I did I'd be playing custom game every time. So, how would that work for me?
Round up more people; I did. I started for me with just me and another guy. We found three more people who wanted to play and did tons of custom games. We still do. We have a night for it. If you are going to argue that SWF deserves all its perks for everyone just because you can't round up some more mates to play with you, I think you are really reaching. You know as well as I do what we are talking about. The OP here made a simple (good) suggestion that the more people who are SWF in a match the slightly higher the Killer's rating should be. This would offset the advantage gained from getting comms. Trying to argue against ANY balancing against the free stuff you are getting by doing SWF is unethical and a bit dishonest.

You're saying all groups want to be the best? So we're not allowed to play for fun? How narrow-minded of you.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1528472#Comment_1528472
As opposed to OP's idea of punishing casual groups just because they want to play with friends?
If they were JUST playing for fun they could do that in a Custom Game. They are playing AGAINST everyone one else, competing for Rank and earning blood points in a way that stacks advantages to them. Clearly that is about something more than just fun since they can do that anytime.

Ok, so you lost some points. If I assume the Claudette was already on the hook and David was hooked at least once, plus the points that you get from them DC'ing, then you lose about 675 of the tons of other points that you get from other things in the game. You were not cheated out of points. SWF is also allowed in the game. A better word to use for describing their actions would be 'underhanded'.
If you need more, here is a link to a wiki that someone very dedicated to the game has made listing every single score event for survivor and killer that is possible.
That isn't the point. The question is whether or not it is cheating? It is. Is it unethical? It is. Is it scummy? It is. :) I got cheated. It doesn't matter whether it was for a few or a ton of points. I'm pointing out it isn't a victimless crime. It is unsportsmanlike behavior at the very least and should not be defended by ANYONE.

Not every SWF team is a sweat squad, so all this would do is punish the more casual players.
It needs to search for a killer with a rating closer to the highest-rated survivor in the team, rather than the "average" it's supposed to. Nothing more, nothing less.
No, not all of them are Sweat Squads but they DO have and advantage outside the game and they are all hoping to be and practicing to be Sweat Squads. This is a good suggestion, and I hope they implement it.
-
The problem with Michael Myers is that in the current META he cannot build up Power fast enough in the face of the current Gen-Rush. It has only gotten worse with SWF. There are some Perks he can take (like anyone else) to TRY and slow it down, but long story short by the time he is at Tier-3 there are only 2-3 Gens left to pop. In short, he builds up Power TOO slow.
What is more, his builds that don't rely on Tier-3 are also SLOW and not ideal for the larger maps (they work well on small/compact ones). Thus if you go for the Spooky Myers or the midway that only gets to Tier-2 with limited Wall Hack, you better be picking the map. I live Michale Myers, as he is the Grand Daddy of them all. I will play him until I fill proficient. My comments are not based on bias but application.
-
This isn't a bad suggestion. It all but ensures they will be going up against MUCH better Killers who can handle it and will enjoy the challenge.

But how is it cheating to let your friend escape? Yeah sure, dc'ing to do it is a little annoying but it isn't really cheating. If it was cheating, then there wouldn't be a disconnect button in the menu.
No, it is cheating. I had a Claudette do that to me just yesterday, D/C herself to stop me from getting a David so the Hatch would open for him as I closed in. :) She used the button. So 1. They were clearly survivor friends and coordinating that outside the game, and 2. they just unethically cheated me of points. Can they do it? Sure. There is a button, but that isn't what the button was intended for really. And defending this behavior is scummy.

I'll say it upfront. I'm a killer main who, while lacking a short fuse, definitely gets capital-s Salty. Like, so salty it seeps through my playstyle and makes it unfun for everyone involved. I've DC'd plenty of times when everything hits the fan (Like when you're trying an experimental killer build with low-tier perks and you get a red forest map of all realms while the 4 survivors run A tier perks.)
I've heard a lot of backlash about DC penalties a while back, which have died down recently due to the MMR system being the new hot topic, but I've been thinking about it.
If I'm salty enough to where the game is genuinely super unfun to me and I disconnect, why would a penalty really matter to me? Unless I've been doing it often and get a long ban, I'm not going to return to a game that infuriated me within the allotted ban time. Maybe it's just me and my lifestyle, but if you're really angry enough to DC that often and want to play immediately after, I think you have a personal addiction problem that the game shouldn't have to adapt around.
Oh and also I have ZERO clue if these are still active cause again, I don't pick up DBD for like another two hours if I DC. Please let me know if they aren't so that I can evaluate how much clownery is in my bloodstream.
(Also rework second stage hook so that survivors can't suicide and so that my spacebar doesn't get beaten to a pulp everytime I play survivor thanks bye)
I don't care if you are Salty. I don't care if you aren't having fun. This is a community and there are expectations. I don't enjoy a lot of games, particularly those going south, but I play them to the BITTER end and give my all so the other Players get the best return on their time. The only time I have disconnected is when my internet has gone down. Real life emergency? Sure. Internet goes down? Sure. How often should those happen? Rarely. A good sportsman doesn't upend the table and stomp off the second they stop having fun. They respect their fellow players, the community, and the game itself. If you can't do that, find another hobby.
-
I've said this BEFORE and I'll say it again. SWF is a HUGE problem because it causes ripples throughout the game. It is EASILY addressed. There should be the following types of matches:
- Solo where you don't come in with a group and you can't see the real ID info of the other Survivors until the end of the match. Thus, no communication OUTSIDE the game itself. There are Perks for that (like Kindred), and gesture animations.
- Custom games where you CAN go in and play with your friends and a willing Killer. Everyone is on the same page and understands it is SWF.
- SWF League Play, where groups can go earn blood points together as a REGISTERED TEAM, and the Killers know what they are facing and the DEV can do appropriate Buffs or situation alterations to balance the extreme advantage SWF provides.
That's it. It solves the problem. Two out of three of these allow you to play with your friends. It prevents Solo players from being at a disadvantage for Rank as they aren't competing against Teams (they get their own grouping), and Killers don't have to face broken OUT OF GAME knowledge and coordination unless they want to do it and where it has been balanced for them. In addition, Leagues, i.e. teams would add a great new dimension to this game.

I mean, Legion are legit teenagers.
I would LOVE a Psycho chapter so much. In terms of non-supernatural (or otherwise non-human) killers, Psycho, The Shining and Us are my top 3 hopefuls.
Don't get me wrong, I think a map that is mostly the Bates Motel, the main house, and property between would be pretty cool. I just don't think another Legion-like guy works. Norman was effective because he murdered people in their hotel rooms and the like, not because he as an killing machine. He was actually pretty wimpy. Now, the Bates Motel, as discussed, with Norman's mother actually risen from the grave to avenge or punish her son (Norman being a new Survivor) that might work.

Other than using a mori for a daily ritual, why do you bring a mori in your match or matches? Just curious here.
•Someone you don’t like?
•A team you don’t like?
•just had a bad match previously?
•just to be toxic or mean
•revenge
•for the animation
•A key in the lobby
•multiple medkits, flashlights, toolboxes, etc.
If I I didn’t list something put it down below. I personally don’t like bringing moris but if it’s for a daily that’s probably about it.
I bring it to deal with Survivor Friends. I want them to assume I have the Mori when they see the hidden offering. I means fewer people want to get hooked even once, and thus it is easier to push them off Generators. When they know they get 3 hooks, do they really care? I've seen me grab the first one and he let me, and another just jumped on. The Mori changes that dynamic whether I use it or not.

I have a question about your proposal: exactly how would you carry out the no-comms part? I don't know about other platforms, but on Xbox the party chat is entirely separate from any game being played. Heck the group could even be playing different games, I've done that. And a few years back I believe Microsoft mandated any game they accept cannot interfere with the party chats in any way. So the devs couldn't block comms even if they wished.
I play PC but I'm pretty certain that if the ID info is hidden till the end of the game, and parties can only go into a lobby together as part of a registered team, that regardless of system, comms can be stopped. You can't talk to whom you don't know. I don't want to stop Survivor Friends entirely. I just would rather see it in custom games or as registered teams so there is SOME WAY to balance for it without screwing over the Solo Survivors.
-
Hey, I'm all for leaving it as it stands. BUT I think Killers will have to be buffed up and Mori too... to adjust.
-
You want a skinny loser guy dressed like his old, dead mother as a killer? It might be frightening in the shower, but I don't think it would hold up in DbD. :) Here he would just be a Cross-Dressing Legion.

I dont know why people do it, i guess it gives them the illusion of some sort of power they dont have in RL. Probably they got bullied and want to let off their frustration on somebody. The even more sad part is that they dont realise how embaressing they are.
If i get facecamped after a 5 gen run, its the ultimate trophy for me and the killer is just feeding into it even more.
If i get facecamped from the beginning on for no reason, he is just throwing the game and gives me time to do something really quick.
If i get facecamped when the gates are powered they admit with it that they lost the game horribly.
Whatever reason they might have, camping make them look even weaker if they would not have camped. On top of that, they get less bloodpoints aswell. The best part of it is when they get their 1K and come up with something like gg ez. They usually go totally nuts when you just response gg wp. Its the best feeling you can possibly get in this game 😁
You make it sound like you get "Face Camped" all the time, which is very different from Camping in general. I wonder what you are actually doing to warrant that. I've found Face Camping is the exception, not the rule and usually reserved for really obnoxious behavior.
-

@tippy2k2 I understand that 3-4 man swf can be hellish and unbalanced, but the opposite exists: if you are a solo queue survivor and the game is balanced around top players, you will be matched with noobs and so, you will lose. Solo queue is filled with crap teammates, which gives a chance to the killer. Even if you are a 2 man swf, you still have 2 random teammates that can suck.
This is why I argue that Survivor Friends in normal Matches should be removed. No groups can enter the lobby and all identity info kept hidden till the end to prevent getting in touch on the fly. People can still play with their friends in Custom games, and the DEV should put in a Team Registration option, for a separate lobby for Survivor Friends, i.e. the registered teams. These can fight Killers willing to go against the greater power, AND the Dev can buff said Killers appropriately with circumstantial stuff to aid the setup to offset the SWF advantage.
-
People camp for all sorts of reasons. Unless applied tactically for a good reason (such as bait) it is usually a losing prospect. You can't win a war on the defense, and that is what camping is... a defensive strategy trying to hold on to a single Survivor while the rest run rampant.

Sorry, but it is not cheating. The devs have confirmed that.
you are not the one to decide that but the devs.
Actually, it is. It cheats every Solo Survivor who can't compete in Rank because of the gravy train provided the friends. It cheats every Killer who has his every move tracked around the map as if the Entity issued all Survivors Seal Team-6 comms. It is nothing but an unethical approach to the game which already provided gestures, perks, and a variety of other means for Players to communicate within reason. You can lie to yourself and say you aren't cheating, but you KNOW you are. :)
-
@Mooks said:
So pretty much delete SWF from normal matches?
not going to happen, if they would do this the game would die pretty fast
Yes, because the point of playing with your friends is supposed to be for the fun of playing with your friends, NOT for getting a competitive advantage. It is CHEATING. This method allows you to play with your friends in 2 out of 3 of the options. They can still do it. They just can't CHEAT. Are you saying if they Survivors can't CHEAT that they game will die? Fine, then up the Mori for Killers... no Nerfs... up it. Because the Killers have to have a way to counter this rampant cheating.
-
I am calling for an end to Survivor Friends. I think groups should not longer be allowed in open matches and ALL data be stripped until the END of the match so you don't know who you are matched with and can't get on the party line. If people want to play in groups, that is what Custom Games are for. You and your Killer will know exactly what is up and can be comfortable with it.
Otherwise, it is cheating. Let's not pretend it isn't. Being able to communicate all information across the entire map instantly is better than any Perk currently in the game. The game was not designed with that in mind. So eliminate the ability for groups to go into Rank games together and strip out all contact and name info until the end. Problem solved.
-
I've watched multiple streams where Survivor Friends teamed up on the Killer in a variety of "funny" but cheating ways. They were able to get exact information on where the Killer was at all times, which hooks were 99'd, and so on. They thought it was great fun to drive the guy to disconnect. Funny? Sure. Cheating? Absolutely. Survivor friends is information better than any Perk in the game and is entirely outside the game. There is no counter for it. The only effective measure is to Mori. I'm using them more and more.
-
The Mori is fine and more important than ever. With the endless "cheating", and let's call Survivor Friends what it is in fact, the Mori is just getting more use. Survivors are using a super power outside the game to gain information and manipulate the course of events. The Mori is seeing more use because it is the only answer Killers have.
-
It is one of the things that makes Michael unique. It also puts an element of fear into the Killer which, missing, takes one more pinch of scare from the game.
-
It of one of two smaller, or should I say more compact maps. It is fine. We need map variety.
-
Michael Myers is the first, the progenitor of all the horror slasher to come. It is sad that he is middle to low middle Tier. That being said, he isn't terrible, he just has too many bad match up maps. He suffers particularly bad against Survivor Friends and Gen rush because he needs time to build up, unless he is doing a niche build where he can't build up. I still play him. I will continue to play him until I feel I am proficient, i.e. I can get below Rank-10. Gotta give MM my respect you know. But sure, I'd love for him to get a slight rework to give him more adaptability to broader Maps and Survivor Friends.

The opponents you play is based on what killers you play.
If you play your main, you get opponents who just bought the game. If you play a killer that you have no clue how to play effectively, you get SWF sweat squads.
In my experience, if I add up the Ranks of each of the Survivors and average them, they seem to always be within 1-2 points of my Rank. I don't know if that is a coincidence or not, but I see it every time I play.

No, sorry. If you're on the hook, you're probably forced to just watch yourself die. Otherwise, we advise you to be bored just as much by repairing the generators without any fear of the killer (since he is camping). And since nothing changes, this is not at all problematic, of course. GLHF.
That hasn't been my experience. I've seen it from both sides. As a Survivor I've had my team maximize generator time while I sat on the hook and then came and double-teamed the killer to get me off. It is what you do. As a Killer I've been double or triple teamed to save a Survivor that I was using as bait to get the rest out.
Truth be told, just this morning I had a Nea Tea-Bag me for no tactical reason. I ran her down, hooked her, and face-camped her. They did come to get her. They double teamed me and got her off the hook. Then I did a Mori on her. :) My point is it always is frustrating to sit on that hook. I've been there too. But the DEV have said time and time again, that Camping, Honey-Potting, whatever you want to call it is a viable, LEGAL tactic in the game. You can complain about it, but the sooner you accept it the better. We all accept that SWF (which is NOT part of the game) is here to stay. So if the Killers can simply shrug and take the fact that you are using a super power to communicate outside the game, you can man up and accept occasionally you are going to get camped. :)
-
I look forward to watching it, but I do hope that future installments will be longer. :) The pilot came off more as a trailer. And if people sitting watching the "Starting Soon" longer than the film itself, they tend to get salty. I am giving them a break, because I enjoyed what little I saw. I just think they need to learn from this and the minimum feature needs to be 15 minutes.

Honestly, this game has given me the worst experience over the past few days and I've reached my breaking point with people. So we had a game on Limkin Lane against a ghostface, hes doing pretty terribly and takes a few minutes to get his first down, I kinda felt bad for him because I assumed its because of the new terrible matchmaking that either matches you with opponents that are far better than you or matches them with opponents that you destroy however thats a topic for another day. Now Im playing with 2 friends and the random gets downed and dragged to the basement. First peek in the house and we see the ghostface is camping in the house with the basement... right. Now its all well and good saying, leave that person, there is nothing you can do etc but man, its just not fun to play like that and why should a killer be entitled to one guarunteed kill every match just by downing someone once. Well, the guy plays like an ######### and we try to save the person in the basement and end up dedicating to it but its pretty hard without any communication from the random and we end up going down ourselves. I dont care that you can say, well you should bring this perk or that perk... no, the game shouldnt be based around luck if you happened to bring the right perk that counters a toxic strategy, how is it fair making a game where if you dont happen to bring the right perk you die. After post game chat and generally playing to altruistically and trying to save eachother from being camped (we got ######### over) we find out its because one of us brought a flashlight... a yellow one with no addons because they are just generally fun to use (unlike standing still at the top of the basement) and have tremendous counterplay.
The fact that the game has systems in check that can easily punish you if someone doesnt like something you do is ridiculous. Im not a game developer so I cant really suggest what would be a good fix for this other than maybe 2 exits for the basement (but then we would probably need some sort of counterbuff so it doesnt just destroy the basement) but either way its pretty dumb and just makes the game unfun. I got too heated and left after that game but it sucks, I like to play to have fun but that game was just stressful and stupid. Oh and not only that but I find it ridiculous that the game has abilities that endorse camping? Like seriously, why? The devs always seem to focus on non issues and dont fix the real problems this game has and always end up making it worse
There is plenty of "Camping Counter-play" as you call it. Your team works like demons to get other generators and totems done. Some of them could come up with flash lights and double and or triple team the killer to get you off the hook safely. Camping is a call on the part of the Killer. Some do it for dumb reasons, i.e. giving up early game generators to the rest of the team just to get one kill. Some do it for tactical reasons, i.e. the generators are almost done and they need bait. Some do it for spiteful, petty reasons; they got tea-bagged and want to make a point (I do this). Long story short, there is a trade off for Camping that the Killer pays. It is up to you and the others to MAKE one of many counter-plays available when they do it.

Nice to meet you. I'm sure things will even out eventually. Changes is never easy, but I suspect they have something in mind and knew it would take awhile. My view, not being a Rank-1, is that I know when I'm fighting potent Rank people even when they show up like Newbies. There is no mistaking the moves and ease with which they dominate a game. I seem to run into them for about 3-4 days every time Rank resets, and it is brutal. Right now, I've actually had less of that.

Playing games, I've noticed survivors constantly disconnect from matches when they get downed for the first time or when they get camped... If your getting camped then just struggle until someone gets you or so that other survivors can get gens done. The longer the killer camps you the more pips they lose...
If you disconnect when you get downed then just stop playing all together. It makes it difficult for other survivors left alive. DC'ing makes you lose pips and all the bloodpoints you gather over the match get taken away from you... Stop being selfish survivor mains!
I don't get it either. DC only hurts the other Survivors, not the Killer. I get games that I know I've lost as the Killer but I fight on to the bitter end because this is a sport, and good sportsmanship is valued.

I'm mostly asking killers main here, how do you deal with toxic survivors during a game ?
I'm not gonna lie, I'm a main survivor (rank 1) and I really do prefer this role. However, I started playing as the killer lately because I always loved to see people playing the pig or the plague so I wanted to try it myself. I'm a rank 16 though, so basically, I'm a baby killer. I'm not tunneling or camping and I refuse to play with NOED as I really want to learn how to be better as a killer.
The thing is, most of the time I'm facing a red rank team with the flashlight/toolbox combo. I would understand if I was actually camping or tunneling someone but I don't. They t-bag me whenever I miss a hit, they "click-click" me with their flashlights so I can chase them because they know how to loop and I still don't know how to handle it (even though I'm a main survivor, I'm still pretty average).
I literally stopped playing as the killer because of that. It's really discouraging when people realize that the killer is a yellow rank so they can do whatever they want. I absolutely hate this behavior and when this happens to me (when I play as a survivor and I notice that the killer is a baby killer) I'm just trying to end the game as fast as I can because I actually feel bad for him.
My question is, how do you deal with toxic survivors ? How do you still wanna play the killer side when this happens the whole day?
Just laugh it off. You are encountering what people who mainly play Killers already know. There are LOTS of Toxic Survivors (way too many) but few Toxic Killers. That is why it is such a shock to you. When was the last time you had a Killer after game taunt, insult and bully you? I've NEVER had it happen to me. I don't know anyone who has. Do you see my point? So, just laugh it off. They are creeps and bad sports. Like mosquitoes, we will never be free of them. You just learn to swat or ignore them.

I'm new to playing, and my favorite killer has to be the Wraith. Every time I play, people are looping, crouch-spamming me, and just being straight up rude when they message me. One guy said "That's what you get, looser." Because I killed him, then everyone started looping and crouch spamming because they all knew each other. Please, stop being so toxic to killers. Especially new people, like me. Thank you.
Just ignore the after game stupidity. People being bad sports is actually kind of funny when you think about it. It doesn't reflect on you, only them. As for the stuff inside the game, take advantage of it. I can't tell you how many times I've been able to catch a Survivor because they were tea-bagging or some other taunting nonsense. Also, I consider it a free pass to grab them, hook them, and stand there point blank and stare at them until they sac out. When people at the end decry me as a camper I simply say, "You disrespect me, I disrespect you." :) I can honestly say, that it doesn't happen that much. And for the record, I don't get upset about toxic play and crouch spamming when it is clear they are TRYING to lure me away from friends working Generators, healing buddies, or protecting someone that is one hook from death. That isn't being disrespectful; that is a good tactical call. You will learn to tell the difference.
I was in this really rough game with a disciplined team of Survivors at Cold Wind Farm. I was playing Michael Myers and carrying the Tombstone fragment. It is a hard map for Myers on a good day, but against a well-coordinated team it is a nightmare. Even so I think I kept them on their toes at least. We got to the endgame and both gates spammed near each other so I was able to run back and forth between them really fast. I was juiced up on my Obsession. I was in a good place to get at least two of them. A David, clearly knowing this, starting calling me out. He was standing right in one gate he managed to get open and was trying to pull me so the others could get away without me shooting back to the closed gate where the others two were.
The David had made the calculation that he was far enough away from me that he could make it out if I moved on him, and if I did the others would get their other gate open. He started using the pointing animations and various gestures and movements to make it clear he was challenging me. I watched him for a few times and waited until he initiated the point one more time and launched, at maximum stack. I caught him barely two steps further into the gate and did the Mori. At the end of the game he was a great sportsman, was clearly entertained and so was his entire team. In general, the better the players, the more mature they seem to get.
So what was the point of that story? Stick it out. Get better. Ignore the winging and whining or just plain immature crud. It thins out as you go along. And as you start to recognize people and play against them more often, it will turn from bad sportsmanship to simply "smack talk" where you all know who is joking and who isn't. Bragging rights, after all, is part of the fun of a PVP game.

It is kind of odd, for people to spend so much time hating on a game that they clearly play for an ungodly number of hours. Clearly the company is doing something right. By in large the Internet combines distance and brings out the absolute worst behaviors of entitlement, impatience, spite, and self-importance. Working for bEhavior must be a very thankless job indeed.
For my own part, I enjoy the game. I've run into the same issues everyone else has but see thing as a constant work in progress and the fun still is greater than transitory issues. So, thanks DbD and bEHavior... you done good as far as I'm concerned.

I actually think they outright lied to us about the MMR. Wouldn't be the first time BHVR has been shady and dishonest with us.
I think they just opened the matchmaking to everyone.
Find another game? I've never heard so much groaning and so on. If you think the game is that bad, leave. They do a pretty darn good job and apparently it is thankless one too. Seriously, would all you people hating on the guys supporting the game you play for a ridiculous number of hours like a little cheese with your whine?

Myers. Hands down. Got to go with the Grandaddy that started it all.

Thanks. I didn't read them that way.

I largely just laugh it off. The more whining and winging I hear at the end, the funnier it is to me. Listening to bad sports complain can be thought of as a perk. Just translate it for what it means, i.e. "you were schooling us."

Don't you watch the videos on Youtube; Nea is actually the Entity. Naturally her underarm color would be weird.

ofc tunneling someone in a jungle gym or a safe loop is a bad idea. But let's say I hook someone at 5 gens, someone unhooks him and I hit him and eat his DS. The next time he goes on hook, why shouldn't I tunnel him as his DS is gone and he'll die?
Well, you certainly could. It is situational. Tunneling means that three other Survivors are free to do pretty much what they want. When you are hooking multiple people it tends to mean some are working on healing up, and so on. No two games are the same, so you have to find your balance in each one. Tunneling can quickly turn into an endless loop or a massive amount of time spent. Good Survivors who understand they are being tunneled are going to milk it for the team. Count on it.
I tunnel someone for tactical reasons, but not because doing so is a solid methodology. For example, if someone is carrying the team and it is painfully obvious, I'll try to cut that person out as quick as possible. Sometimes I'll tunnel and Mori as fast as I can at the start to put the fear of the Mori into everyone left, slowing down a gen rush. On rare occasion I will tunnel and face camp someone who was obnoxious and tea-bagged me. This is petty, I know but I'm only human. The key takeaway is don't tunnel for the sake of tunneling. It isn't a universally useful tactic. Tunnel for a specific reason in a specific game.

This is going to sound rough, but it is a tactic I find useful for Mikey. High speed Gen rush teams tend to show up with lots of tool kits at the campfire. As a general rule, if I see 2+ with tool kits, I immediately add Memento Mori. As others before me advised, I focus on generators. I immediately move around the map in a systematic, fast way hitting each generator until I find the survivors. I grab one and hook them. I move off, allow the rescue, drop them and MORI them early and so there is no doubt I have it.
The second that happens it becomes much easier to push survivors off generators. They jump at the slightest threat as they don't want to get hooked even ONCE. I don't generally have to Mori again, but it is the threat of it that makes them less likely to want to get hooked and far more circumspect about how they do the rescue. In short, the Mori puts the fear back into the game rather than math of how many hooks have I got left. Generators get weighed against quick death.

The OP was lamenting the fact that killers are being shamed for usin NOED as I was I, I think there was a misunderstanding that I am not clear on. You and I have been saying the same things, maybe you were responding to someone and accidentally got me?
You are correct, and we are saying the same thing. I can admit when I get lost in a thread. I confused the guys doing his best to shame and insult people with the OP.
