Also I want to mention something very important. If you guys want to support something, then support everyone no matter of their gender, color skin or sexual orientation. Because supporting only one side feels like you guys making a hate on white people that have a straight sexuality orientation and that makes the community diversed from each other making it even more toxic than it used to be. Be impartial ffs.
Look, I'm getting kind of tired of you. I wish there was a nice way to say it. I've seen posts like yours all over the internet, traveling Trolls simply spoiling for a fight. If you don't like what people have to say, don't listen. If you want to advocate for something, advocate for it. If you want to suppress the speech of others, you don't have a leg to stand on. We are guaranteed free speech, but we are not guaranteed freedom from speech. You choose what you listen to, read, etc. If you don't like what you are seeing, don't go there. Vote with your wallet. I'm as white as a person can be, and I don't understand anyone advocating for their minority group as "hate" against my ethnicity. If you DO interpret it that way, I question your motives and your reading comprehension.
I think you are just trying to stir the pot and start a fight. Well, if you want one I'll gladly tell you to stuff it. You are parroting stuff I've heard from White Supremacy groups and Fair Weather Bigots. If someone wanted to say they hate white people, they would just say it. Saying their lives matter is just that, no more and no less. I happen to agree with them.

And how do I will know about the PTB releases or changes that are coming to game?
Also you completely missed out the point.
For me it feels like for BHVR the politics stuff is more important than the game itself.
I knew about the PTB releases and all that jazz and I didn't even KNOW those channels existed. I got all my info here.

My vote for the new DLC is:
Trick 'R Treat
Killer: Sam (Samhain)
Survivor: Mr. Kreeg (not a nice guy but we can have some anti-hero Survivors too)
Map: Two block wide rectangle of streets full of houses decorated for Halloween with few key houses like the Kreeg house.

I do like that interacting with a gen/totem/healing would cancel DS, I think that's a great idea. I don't like the idea of an unlimited timer, I think the timer should still be 60s or even a bit less...but pause the timer when slugged. I think that way you'd at least solve the issue of a survivor who's unhooked and then goes immediately to work on a gen (obviously not being tunneled at that point) but who then overcommits to the gen to get pulled off it in order to use DStrike.
It's going to be a difficult perk to balance and I am sure that not everyone is going to be happy with any change, if any change happens to it.
Well it isn't truly unlimited. It will end the moment someone else is hooked or the EGC starts. :) I put in that potentially extended length to appease the Survivors, and to make sure that it truly does function as an anti-tunnel Perk. The Killers will KNOW how it works and are likely to focus on getting someone else on the hook as quickly as possible to turn it off and avoid the hit. In my mind it was kind of a compromise to make both sides happy. I think the not interacting with anything (and EGC deactivate) will please Killers, and the extended duration unless the Survivor or Killers acts to end it, to please the Survivors.
But you are right, no rewrite (done by anyone) is going to be liked by everyone. :)

@NoOneKnowsNova said:
This would most likely lead to that survivor focusing on getting into a chase with the killer aswell as body blocking for other survivors, while also practically guaranteeing an escape if an exit gate is open.
That is a different issue really, as I don't think Decisive Strike should remain active once the EGC has begun. I suppose I should have put that in the rework above to be clear. I'll add it.

You're not missing anything. BLM, LGBT issues or whatever else gets posted in community channels obviously has nothing even remotely to do with cosmetic prices, solo queue, or keys and mories. But I guess no one ever said DBD forum rants have to be rational.
Thanks; between the Moderator and you, I understand this much better.

We're talking specifically about our Social Channels here - I really fail to see what that has to do with bugs etc being fixed or not.
Our Social Channels are there to promote content, the competitions that we run, community created art/cosplays etc. As well as notify people as to what is happening in the game etc.
I fail to see why doing this, is preventing bugs etc being fixed in the game or new content being released - that's nothing to do with the Community Team that run the Social Channels.
Thank you, that clarifies it a great deal. I have a solution for the OP; avoid the social channels if you don't like hearing what people have to say whether it is the company or individuals. I'm kind of embarrassed, as I wasn't even aware there were any such channels. That is why I was totally lost in this thread.
-
I guess I'm just lost in the weeds on this one. I haven't noticed much in the way of any kind of politics on the main website or in chat after games. I'm not really sure what is getting under the OP's skin? Are you talking about the personal Steam Accounts, Twitter, and all that of our Player base? If so, nothing obligates you to go look at anyone's personal accounts. Aside from the odd person bringing a politically charged topic (like you) into this Forum, I haven't encountered anything of the sort. What am I missing?
And if you are talking about the social media accounts of other Players, they have the right to make whatever statement they want.

If you think about comms for SWF as a 5th perk this idea sounds good, on paper. In practicality it would make solo a more unbearable option and throw off balance if killers used it to stack yet another slowdown or build a slow down+endgame load out. I'd rather see them maybe put Kindred or Bond as base kit for survivors to get solo closer to SWF levels and then rework/give QoL changes to killers so there isn't a massive gap between strength levels and all could be viable.
Attempting to somehow increase Solo to match SWF will never work unless chat is put INSIDE the game itself to make Solo exactly like SWF. The problem with your idea of trying to buff Solo to match SWF is that will require equal buffs to Killers and the SWF will also get those same Buffs and will remain further and further ahead. The only way to match Solo to SWF logistically is to give them (Comms). Any other work around will always just buff the SWF at the same time it increases the potency of Solo.
This is one of the reasons I suggest two Ques: Solo and SWF, so that the Teams can have the additional Generator required and a 5th Perk unlocked for Killers just against the Teams.
-
Well... as we are just giving opinions:
- Newbies need better matchmaking or to be in a Que entirely their own until they get past Rank-18 at least.
- Create a Killer Shepard program (volunteers or bots) ensuring those Rank 18-20 people aren't getting Face Camped by Newbie Killers.
- A more effective Reporting system that warns and/or removes horrific Salty behavior so Newbies aren't scared off or given bad examples.
-
I think one day, when we end up having Solos in one Que and Teams in another, a 5th unlocked Perk Killers as a way to balance the SWF 5th Perk (Comms) will be likely. Personally I think such teams will be required one extra Generator to power the gates AND the Killer gets one more Perk unlocked. But only time will tell.

I absolutely hate going against wraith. Not sure why. I wont give up and DC butbi wonr escape either.
I was forced to play him for the challenges, and used the silent bell and wall hack add ons. I found just hitting people and not chasing, even without sloppy, was the best tactic. Ended up with a 4k just doing the 8 surprise hit challenge.
Did the same thing with just his teachable and devour next game. Devour went down on 2nd stack.
I think his add ons are really powerful.
I hate going against Pig. She is my Achilles Heel; I don't really know why. Wraith, particularly with the speed add-ons can be very potent in the right hands. Of course, that can be said of any Killer. I think the reason we are seeing more Wraiths of late (more of all the Stealth Killers in fact) is because it more strongly affects the SWF and their ability to pass information. Solos never had that out-of-game superpower so the Wraith is the same old Wraith to them. :)

Ah, a fellow survivor stuck in the purgatory of Solo queue. I really don't get why survivor's have such a problem with doing bones, they give a ton of points and take like 15 seconds.
Exactly. There are four Survivors and only five Totems. If everyone on the team pauses to cleanse one they spot, they vanish pretty quick even when you aren't actively looking for them.

I'm going to say something simple, but true. The overall community for DbD is great. It is full of good sports, polite adults, and those who simply follow the rules (don't cheat). Many people would be surprised, or argue with me about this but I assure you that this is 100% true. The negativity that one experiences before a match, after a match or here on the Forum are actually a very vocal minority. It had to do with human psychology. We don't remember the average, passive, or simply good. Things which stand out in our memory are bad things and truly great things. In other words, we are conditioned to remember extremes.
In the 80s, this was called the Geraldo Effect, i.e. where shows which focused on the negative (if it bleeds it leads) would warp public perceptions like a fun house mirror. If you take the time to actually track your negative after game chats (for example) I suspect you would find (as I did) that most of them just give you a "GG" or nothing is said at all. Every now and then you get a bit more in the kind words department. Overall, if you track the next one hundred matches you will find there is a largely silent majority of good Players/Community.
In regards to behavior inside the game, as long as it is a legal, valid tactic it is not, by definition, "toxic." You should, in fact, delete that word from your vocabulary. It is meaningless. The utter subjectivity of it makes the word itself destructive to this community. The only behaviors inside the game that matter are:
- Do not cheat, either with hacks or lag spikes.
- Do not disconnect; if you start a game, finish it.
- Be humble in victory, and gracious in defeat.
Entirely too much time is spent talking about what is acceptable behavior (for both Killers and Survivors) within the game. It is a waste of time. Do not get sucked into these discussions. You worry about what YOU do in the game. The choices other people make are not good scapegoats for your own failures, nor are they anything you get a say about. Don't let that vocal minority lure you into a false set of morals and morays that actually have no validity. Play hard in the match and be nice outside of it. That is all that is required of anyone.
-
I also fail to see any problem with the Perks. If they were to eliminate the Aura reading aspect, they should put back the ability for Undying to transfer itself. I also play Survivor (Solo most often) and Killer. There is simply a stronger emphasis on doing Bones. A funny, if unintended, consequence, is that NOED is becoming less popular. :)
-
Congratulations! I'm relatively new myself and hope to hit Rank-1 in Killer and Survivor by 1K myself. It takes a lot of work and dedication to do it, or at least it is taking me a lot of work and focus. :) I can only imagine the challenge of games at that level.
-
There is an ongoing issue that causes havoc with the DC penalties (specifically Bans). Some unscrupulous hacker types have played with IDs and moved the Bans on the wrong people. I expect they are trying to figure out a way to work around that. My own suggestion, given in all humility I assure you is:
Habitual Disconnects
This Player will be routed into a separate Que which is made up of other people who habitually disconnect. How many disconnects in what period of time qualify would be something the DEV would have to decide (I'm not qualified). People in this Limbo Que will have to play with their own ilk. They will have to complete a certain number of games without disconnecting before they are allowed back in with the rest of us. I expect this Que would be slow and filled with frustration. I can't imagine anyone would want to be int there twice. And if they come back to the adults Que and continue the behavior they can go right back in there.
-
I haven't noticed it to be anymore common among Console as opposed to PC. There are way too many people disconnecting; you will get no argument from me on that. I just don't see a statistical disparity between the groups. The sooner we either can get Bans backup safely or create a Que for habitual disconnect-types so they are stuck playing each other, the better.
-
The problem with the Doctor is he doesn't teach you to play anyone but the Doctor. I always advise AGAINST starting with the Doctor so one can build up one's hunting skills first. I don't need to go into it at length as others have already covered literally everything.

I’ve had those idea for awhile and I’ve posted it on steam forums in the past but I think it’d be cool to have a Scooby-Doo dlc just hear me out. The killer could be either The Black Knight the very first villain in the original Scooby-Doo show or The Virus from fan favorite movie Scooby-Doo and The Cyber Chase. The survivor would be Scooby and the reason why is because the dlc would come with outfits for other character Shaggy for Dwight, Daphne for Kate, Velma for Feng Ming, and Fred for David. The map could either be the mansion from the Scooby-Doo Where Are You theme or the Theme park pier from the end of Cyber Chase where as you complete gens different attractions start to light up around the map. I don’t really have a good idea for perks or powers yet but I can imagine the trailer for it; You see hallway and hear a metal bat clinking on the wall and after a couple of seconds you hear the corpus say in a malicious tone “Scooby doo where are you...” as he continues down the hall the camera now shows a locker shaking and with murmuring and crying faintly heard the virus gets closer and pulls the locker open to which you can see Scooby hugging Dwight dressed as Shaggy. The pair screams and the title of the chapter flashes the screen.
It might not go for the darker vibe they are going for, but I would certainly pay for it if it went for sale. :)

It is just a very vocal minority that stick out like sore thumbs and twist our perceptions like a fun house mirror. Your logic is kind of over my head right now. I'm not really sure what you are arguing? I get looped around the hay baler and they stand on the raised drop. I've seen this before I think to myself. I can hit them. They're so stupid.
Not a single hit ######### connected. Clang clang clang. I'm forced to run around extending the chase by 4 minutes.
I watch as they run around the same loop 8 times. They're actually going faster while I'm getting bloodlust tier 15. ######### how?
Deathslinger shoots me with his gun. Oh I know what to do I think to myself. I immediately wedge myself between a car and another object. He just walks around while I'm still chained.
Yes im mad.

I had a beautiful bit of karma with a player who tried that recently. I was doing scratched mirror Mikey. I burned Hawkins, this object user burned Midwich. I was fine that. Indoor map is indoor map. We got Midwich. Low and behold I see the object Nea.
Needless to say their hopes and dreams of an easy match where they could constantly spy on the killer was crushed. You better believe they were the first to die.
Yep, I'm thrilled every time I get sent to Midwich as Spooky Myers. I actually find it the 2nd Best map for that build after The Game (Meat Packing Plant). Lerys is just oblong enough to be inconvenient to my Wall-Hack but Midwich is just the right size based on its layout.

So I think since I'm learning maybe I should just not do this build yet? In another thread I made, someone recommended unrelenting.
Well if you don't have all the Perks suggested, you can't do them. :) But if you are brand new, learning the basics is the most important thing. Builds are just builds. Basics are everything. Learn how to apply Generator pressure, and you do that with the most efficient routes. Learn the difference between a basic attack and a Lunge. And from a Spirit standpoint, learn to mind game by making them THINK you are going to Haunt, and then not do it.

Got it. Everybody says Spirit is easy but I'm finding a lot to learn on her! I guess it's because I just have general questions too as killer. I feel like I'm bothering the forum by asking so many.
Everyone always says this or that Killer is "easy" but it is rarely true. What is a fact is Spirit is one of the most powerful Killers in the game. You do have to master some basics. Efficient Generator patrols are required to make her work right OR you take Perks which reveal the location of the Survivors so you can land on them like a brick. Surveillance, a Pig Perk, is really good as is Discordance and Tinkerer. I find that Surveillance works exceptionally well with Ruin and Undying, but you must be pushing them off Generators to make it work. The second they stop working the Generator, it highlights one color and the moment someone jumps back on it, you get a big yellow sign that says Haunting over HERE and kill me.

I was the OP that asked this question xD Thank you, I'm still learning so I don't know who are high mobility and who aren't.
Spirit, Nurse, Blight, Freddy, and Hag are all extremely high mobility once you get past their learning curve. Wraith is REALLY fast with the right add-ons (and he will take the right add-ons), and Legion can use their power to cross a lot of real estate too. Hill Billy can also get around the map really fast.

Sorry to interrupt, but are you saying Spirit is a high mobility Killer? I watched Otz's video on general perk builds for killers, and he said said spirit isn't a high mobility killer.
Nope. I didn't address who I think is a high mobility Killer. I just said that running Ruin+Undying+Thrill is important to me playing Myers, and that I think it isn't a necessary combination on Killers that are faster, i.e. high mobility. I used to run Corrupt Intervention (an Otz suggestion) to offset that first pivotal 60 seconds where a Myers has to find the Survivors and try to get out of Tier-1 (if I'm not playing Scratch Mirror that is) and it worked well enough. I started using Thrill of the Hunt and Ruin long before Blight's Undying came out, and found it worked even better than the Corrupt Intervention (for me). Once I got my paws on Undying it started working even better.
Sticking to the OP's topic he asked if these four were too much. I answered yes, and suggested dropping NOED. My bias for Thrill came through and I rightfully needed to point out why I use that triple Hex configuration.

If you're playing Peek-A-Boo, you can accomplish the same thing(better, really IMO) with Whispers, and save a hex totem.
I've tried both. I guess a better way of explaining this is that I'm not really defending my Totems so much as I'm using them to locate the Survivors, sort of like motion sensors. I always get my first audible cue within 15-45 seconds. If I'm not looking the right away, that allows me to turn and get there quick. Thrill provides that, and slows down the cleansing the MOST at the start of the game when all the Totems are still intact. Undying is there to hopefully move Ruin around, but also for the aura trip wires. This too lets me find them very fast.
I know Hexes are an acquired taste, and you are not the first person to suggest dropping Thrill, but I've tested it so many different ways now that for me at least, this three Hex combination works when doing Myers (any Build). But you are 100% right, I don't run this at all when I'm running any high mobility Killer. It is a waste on them.
-
@Steel_Eyed said:
Thrill of the Hunt is wasted imo. I saw Otz using it and you just cannot defend three totems cross map being cleansed at once. Ruin/Undying is already super broken combo. I’d say more than those two is not helpful. Add BBQ. Add a chase perk.
Well, my caveat to this is I play Myers, and a LOT of Spooky Myers. I find Thrill of the Hunt helps me locate and home in on the Survivors really fast at the start (when pulling a big map). I've found there is a distinct difference in how many grabs I get when I run Thrill of the Hunt and when I don't. I expect it would be wasted on a higher mobility Killer, but for me.... Thrill, Ruin, Undying work VERY well. The audible warning when my Totem's gets touched swings me the right direction to see the Aura Undying shows off, and I can make a more accurate beeline.
For me, the first minute of the game is pivotal. Myers snowballs, and he is weakest early game. So, my suggestion comes with the context of this.... :)

Pretty much ANY Killer can safely absorb a DS if they choose the right time in the game. The current form of DS actually causes me to Tunnel more, i.e. just to get them out of the way early. I'd rather take that stun early while I have the most Generators left and I'm running the Survivors to my beat.
-
I would not be opposed to having DS work like this with the caveats already made that:
- It ends instantly if you interact with the rest of the game in any way, i.e. working generators, cleansing totems, getting healed, etc.
- It ends the moment the ECG starts.
- Basically have it activate when you come off the hook and stays active UNTIL you interact or another Survivor is Hooked.
I personally Tunnel early in a game specifically to get rid of the DS. I'd rather have it hit me when it means less, instead of it hitting me in the ECG where an entire squad gets out because of it.
-
I've found Boil Over combined with Flip Flop can really punish a slugger.

Absolutely. Agreeing to disagree is what adults do in a situation like this. And for my part, I do apologize for the harsh tone. It takes 2 months of grinding to finish. The Rift is supposed to maintain player count/interest right? That's the real reason it exists?
Well here they do have an ulterior motive. The game is only has healthy as the number of matches played. In other words, they have to keep people playing to make sure the Ques aren't slow and they can continue to build the community. I'm sure they would love to just give a flat fee and make the money up front, but that doesn't help the game long term. By having it tied to people playing matches, they create a secondary reason for people to play besides just the fun of the game. They want you to have an additional goal outside the match that ensures you play a lot. Many other online games, which charge a flat fee, have stagnated and died because the player base didn't play enough to drive matches and keep new people coming in.

Yeah, I get your point. I'm personally fond of the rift. I like the skins and the added layer of the game. If they had made an announcement saying they needed to re-adjust the values I would have been totally fine with that. They need to make money, nothing weird about that. It's the not telling bit that grinds my gears.
This is also fair enough. They could have made a bigger deal about it, but in the end I suspect they have bigger fish to fry. On any given day the DEV get virtually burned in effigy by people angry about some Perk, some change to a Power, some map, not optimizing something quick enough, and so on. I feel bad for them. They could announce tomorrow that they are giving us ANOTHER million BP via some code and somebody would complain that it isn't quite enough to Level-40 their Killer/Survivor of choice. I reread my posts and I do sound a bit short with you, but you have to understand how you sound with this entire line of commentary. You sound ungrateful, and angry because they aren't giving you enough free stuff. No matter how I try to wrap my head around this, I can't really find solid ground for you to stand on.

Listen, I'm trying to have a discussion with you but I feel you have a condescending tone which doesn't feel constructive or nice. Can we just focus on the topic at hand instead?
We are in agreement that the rift is optional and that it doesn't give you a competitive edge. I will explain my POV, but just to be clear, from here on out I am speculating. I'm using the Oxford Cambridge dictionary to define the term manipulation. It goes as follows: the action of influencing or controlling someone or something to your advantage, often without anyone knowing it.
I feel that BHVR are trying to influence people into buying rift progress by removing rift progress from the tome. This is strictly going from mechanics of loss aversion and the social/emotional value skins employ. If you buy the rift you will want to complete it. If you have 3-4 levels left, you may pay 300-400 auric cells to avoid the 'loss' of the last few items. If you believe you will complete the rift in time, you may be more inclined to buy it beforehand. By adding and removing rift progress you can influence the players into (a) buying the rift beforehand, and (b) paying to complete the rift.
As I said in a previous response, why do you announce one change but not the other? Here's how I interpret it. Again, just me speculating:
Tome I: 340 fragments
Tome II: 393 fragments <-- Announcement: Look everyone we added a bunch of rift fragments to the tome!
Tome III: 405 fragments
Tome IV: 348 fragments <-- No announcement: Shhh, don't tell anyone we removed the rift fragments
But you have already invalidated your OWN point. Clearly you (and everyone else) knows how the Rift works, fragments and all. The change in required fragments isn't a big secret. We wouldn't be having this conversation if it was done behind closed doors. The Rift is completely transparent. When changes happen, you see them. It is not my intent to be condescending, only to debate you on the merits of your argument. It isn't my fault that you have yet to provide any evidence to support your supposition.

@SenzuDuck Yes, yes, you have the option to play the game and all that. But I'm not talking about whether the rift is optional or not, but the fact that the premise of the rift has changed without it being communicated.
The manipulation lays in the fact that they publicly communicated that the tome + rift was too grindy and that they were going to adjust the values. Two tomes later they revert the added progress without saying anything. Based on previous experiences, players may buy the rift believing that they can complete the rift when in reality, they cannot. The problem is that there has been no communication about the change and that players can't see the tome challenges beforehand.
Tome I: 340 fragments
Tome II: 393 fragments <-- Look everyone we added a bunch of rift fragments to the tome!
Tome III: 405 fragments
Tome IV: 348 fragments <-- Shhh, don't tell anyone we removed the rift fragments
Thank you for being more specific. My only real response to this is that free fragments are still free whether they require more or less of you to get them. It is kind of like looking a gift horse in the mouth. I understand that moving the goal posts can be frustrating, and for that you can be forgiven. But at the end of the day, they are still giving us something for nothing more than playing the game (which we would be doing anyway). I had a local restaurant that used to give me points which each meal I purchased toward getting a free meal. After awhile, they adjusted how many points I needed for that free meal. I understood that they had done a cost analysis and had to do it. They were STILL giving me a free meal at the end of the line. Do you see my point?

@Moundshroud @Moundshroud @Moundshroud I actually want to ask you the same thing. You disregard my post, apparently rolling you eyes to the back of your head in the process, due to a set of rules that you have presented without any kind of source. As if consumers cannot be manipulated unless there's a competitive edge or subscription involved. Regardless, my point has nothing to do with the actual rift, but rather the marketing/mechanics behind it.
What I call predatory is not the rift, but rather the action of removing progress in secret.
Nobody is forcing you or anyone else to buy Cosmetics, DLC, or whatever. They are not required to be competitive in the game. You are not playing a subscription fee past the initial buy in, even though the company does pay upkeep for you to continue to play. Yes, I roll my eyes at your comments because they are vapid, incorrect, and self-serving.
All the Rift has done for me is given me free cosmetics. Why? I don't buy into the paid ones. It was as simple as that. Free choice and options isn't manipulation. If you REQUIRED any of that stuff to play the game effectively, that would qualify as manipulation. Why don't you DEFINE for us what you mean by manipulation. Please provide the specific engine by which you think we are being manipulated here? Specifics please, no glittering generalities. If you aren't talking about the Rift, please DEFINE what it is you are talking about specifically so we can have an actual discussion about it. Stop playing rhetorical games.

what i consider toxic and what you consider toxic are clearly diffrent i dont consider tunneling sluging and moris as toxic the only thing i consider somewhat toxic is camping but only when it is used too mutch
That is fair. The only thing I consider toxic is Salt before or after a game. I give my opponents kind words whether they curb-stomp me or I not. I think valid, legal tools and tactics within the game are fair game and I never give anyone grief or try to shame them for using them.

i'm at rank 15 and around half of my killer games end-up as either me getting rolled buy a coordinated survivor team witch ends in me having a really boring match. without perks like hex ruin and pop-goes the weasel or even all of the killers i find there is really not much i can do except get rolled. i'm asking for any non toxic tactics in helping combat these well put together teams please and thank you.
My first suggestion is to purge the word "toxic" from your vocabulary. Ignore people who use it, avoid using it yourself, and play the game using all available tools as indicated by the direction of a particular match. Chances are those really well-coordinated SWF are using the 5th Perk (Comms) which provides more information to every member of the group than all the in-game Perks combined. Weigh that carefully when find yourself holding back because someone convinced you something is the so-called toxic.
For my own part I will camp, tunnel, slug, and us the Mori whenever they are appropriate in a given match. Every match is different so these special use tools are highly conditional. If you want to tie your own hands behind your back and refuse to use Perks which will slow down the Gen-Rush, then you YOURSELF are responsible for your losses. You will not defeat a well-coordinated SWF by avoiding things which slow them down, upset them, or play into their hands. They are counting on you trying for three hooks, avoiding going after the same person in a row, not using a Mori, and acting like Santa Killer. So, if you like losing, keep coddling your Survivors.

The only reason some people are finding the Wraith more potent of late is he is particularly effective against a SWF. The chief competitive edge provided by the 5th Perk (Comms) is eyes on the Killer at all times. The Wraith, for all his other weaknesses, cuts into the "outside the game" advantage of the SWF and I suspect it annoys some of them.
I have noted an uptick in Wraith as a Killer and I suspect (not data yet to prove it) that this is related to the SWF. All the Stealth Killers are enjoying an increase, but the Wraith in particular. One thing I do have data on is that Stealth Killers are less than half of the total number of Killers and yet I get them in 50%+ of my games lately. :)

Whenever I see one of these posts accusing the DEV of a predatory business model I roll my eyes and wonder exactly what is your basis of comparison. DbD is a cheap game to get into. The DLC are inexpensive too, and not mandatory to remain competitive. You don't pay a subscription fee. The only thing left for you to pay for is the cosmetics which are entirely optional, and have no game effect. You don't have to buy them. I'm just not seeing the predatory aspect.
The cherry on top of this is they GIVE YOU FREE COSMETICS just for playing the game. Free stuff does not equal predatory. It is the opposite. You think they are predatory for not giving you MORE free stuff or ENOUGH free stuff (very subjective). What a entitled bunch of snots some of you seem to be. A predatory business model would require the following:
- Pay to play, such as a subscription fee or other hidden fees.
- Pay to remain competitive, i.e. if you don't buy the newest DLC you can't win against those that do.
- Pay for Competitive Edge, i.e. you can purchase Cosmetics or other items unavailable to those who don't pay which provide an edge.
These are the big three, NONE OF WHICH, are employed by DbD. Grow up.
