Most cosmetics make him gross, I can agree on that at least..

Even though people bash me for it:
if you feel sick when playing a game, don’t play it. Damaging your mental health is not worth a game you don’t have fun with.
voice your feedback, try to translate your feelings and experiences into words, that’s important of course. But don’t force yourself to continue if it is bad for you.
if you are able to, try to only play for fun, set your own goal, like getting only a daily/challenge done or just mess around learning the killers power. Try to have fun chasing or ignoring those that try to ‚bully‘ you (often times they will screw up and turn out to be the weak link once it doesn’t go their way).

Yes!

It makes sense with the product value
It doesn’t because you don’t just pay 1000 auric cells and get everything but you gotta invest much time. And while that is not much for you it is very much for others.
same with 1000 auric cells, it may be much for you when it’s only for one outfit but for others that’s nothing and they gladly pay that price. And there are many people that buy those from what I can see.
the comparison here isn’t needed if your point was just that cosmetics in the store are too expensive.

You were the one that disregarded everyone but the ones that are able to play 2 hours every day...
i agree that the prices are too high, that’s why I don’t buy any of them. But there are enough people that are willing to pay that money. Why should BHVR listen to me, when I won’t give them any money on cosmetics whatsoever when they get enough money with their current strategy?
Also your comparison to the rift prize just doesn’t make any sense at all.

Playing at least 2 hours per day + making challenges and you can finish the rift without any problem. If you want to, you will find a time.
That entitlement.
i have the time. But not everybody has the time. Seriously.
also you don’t have to commit so much time into one video game to play it. If someone only want to play it once every few weeks for a couple of hours they can do just that.

You need to have made an in-game report and the additional player report ticket, they would never ban someone because of a name that’s not unique.

There's not a single gen slowdown perk that's worth running. Not even taking 4 slowdown perks will counter the current gen rush meta.
The new perk combos well with stake out. Giving 20% progress on a single skill check. Now think 3 survivors using it on the same gen.
Making 3 gen strats useless.
Yeah, that’s well too niche to be Meta..
just like Power Struggle was said to be dominating especially for 4 man SWF. I almost never saw that happen either..

Ok then I guess all the players being frustrated by killer over the past 4 years and the long survivor queue times is just coincidence. Waiting 10 minutes for a game as survivor for a 3 minute gen rush is riveting gameplay.
Lets just keep encouraging people to quit.
No, let’s try to encourage players to continue playing who get depressed by it.
there is a difference in getting a little bit frustrated by mechanics and „having no reason to play“
the devs are working on improving both sides, keys are getting a rework, map reworks are actually more balanced than you want to admit, DS gets nerfed just now.
if you are not able to admit that, then nothing they will ever do will be enough for you I fear..

Actually if you split the gens correctly the last gen can be easier than the first gen. Just keep them map wide and the killers will likely leave you alone for most of the gen.
Killers only snowball before the first gen if the survivor team is really bad. This is when they all group up nearby and none can last more than 5 seconds in a chase.
Ormond may be "better" now but it's still generally regarded as a poorly balanced map.
The devs definitely balance for low rank, everyone has come to this conclusion over the years and it's not a coincidence. Nobody asked for the game to be balanced for inexperienced killers, people want it to be balanced for the top end. Genspeed is balanced for those survivors who explore a bit, hide at the first sound of a heartbeat and stay in a locker etc once survivors lose that fear and they just charge gens at all costs you see how unbalanced the game is. Hence why so many killers resort to slug, slug, slug, slug, slug and camp people on 2nd hook. It's amazing player survivor and finding out how much time you can actually waste in a game and still escape. I ran around the map multiple times last time I played looking for a glyph and we still got all the gens done in minutes vs a rank 1 killer.
Again, many of those killers are not as good as they think they are. You examples feature exactly those inexperienced killers, equivalent survivor players would just get disregarded as being bad/potatoes and that’s it.
and slugging and camping are normal strategy’s that should always be considered when balancing. They are not abused by killers when they are valid mechanics.
and splitting the Gens or getting a 3 gen scenario is not only up to the survivors, the killer can very much influence this outcome.

Yeah they totally hear killers that complain about gen speed.
By introducing a survivor perk that helps doing gens even faster...
Yeah, that perk will totally be used every match because it’s so strong. And let’s disregard every anti-gen speed perk then?
also that new mechanic that started as an early-game collapse is still to be revealed.

Lol the replies in this thread. “stop playing” and then survivors make threads in feedback complaining about queue times. I wonder if the two are related.
For what its worth op I agree with you. I’ve had ups and downs in this game. Since coming off a 3-4 month break I’ve never found the game as hard as I do now. The gens seem impossible to stop. If I was getting looped for 5 minutes I’d understand but the chases are short, I’m reading plenty of survivors like a book and getting hits in good time and yet it’s still not enough.
Case in point the other day I found a survivor fast in yamoaka and I get a hit, chase, get them down, hook. Turn around to walk away, other survivors farms them. Obvious BT so I chase this new survivor, get them down fairly quick and hook them. Start walking down the map and pop, pop 2 gens done. Hard for me to pressure the other side of the map isn’t it. So I’ve got 2/12 hooks, 1 hook on 2 survivors which is only just starting out really and meanwhile the survivors have done 40% of their objective. With 3 gens to go all they need is 1 survivor in chase and the rest on a gen rather than wasting time and the game is over in 80 seconds. So that puts me in a position where I cant make any mistakes and bearing in mind some locations like the house of pain or badham school are just huge timesinks for most killers. But heres the issue with the game, I read the devs apparantly said chases are meant to take around 40 seconds. If I do that all those 3 gens are 50% completed. Theres no real way to get that out. Ruin gets destroyed instantly and again some maps are so large that you can’t pressure gens 3 miles away. Pop only affects 1 gen, and the default regression is useless. Once those charges are in a gen they’re in for good for the most part.
Know what works best? Facecamping, because ironically it’s the only thing that gets survivors off generators.
Like you i also see keys and map offerings galore. Always coldwind, ormond or haddonfield showing how one sided these maps are and yet the designers do nothing to balance them.
I play swf with a friend and we get the gens done every single game. The challenge comes ironically from babysitting other survivors and you can see who the game is balanced for here. Sometimes the games start out hard because one survivor goes down in about 10 seconds and they’re getting tunnelled hard and you can’t make any progress because you’re always having to help out the baby Meg, but when that survivor gets eliminated the game ironically becomes 10 times easier because either myself or my friend will then run the killer easily for the next few minutes while all the gens get done.
The only thing that stops an escape is NOED. If all 4 survivors are competent we always do the bones but if 1 survivor is tunneled fast and the others on deathhook then yeah we’re kind of too pressed for time to be doing the totems as well as the gens.
The devs balance for rank 20 survivors that much is obvious from playing the game and its highly likely that the only results they account for are kills and escapes. So if the killer tunnels out a rank 20, gets looped for 5 gens by a better player, and then crutches another with NOED, thats a balanced game and a good job in their eyes.
Lol at your entire post.
if you get frustrated by a game than maybe you just shouldn’t play it. Give feedback on what is frustrating, sure. Ask for ways to improve etc. but in the end, don’t force yourself if all it does is building up negative emotions.
The first 2 gens or not equal to 40% of all survivor objectives. Gens get harder the more are completed, so the first shouldnt count as much as the last, also exit gates are a thing.
for your example you can easily find a counter example on a killer snowballing before first gen get done. Doesn’t mean the game is killer sided.
SWF have it easier, that’s well known by now. But it’s still not a guaranteed 4 man escape. The killer has to be competent for sure and many killers are not as good as they think they are. Also matchmaking is just broken, which also goes in both directions. You just disregard the killer sided matches because the survivors are just called potatoes. But there are equivalent potato killers - on all ranks.
Ornond was reworked and its mostly agreed its way more balanced than it was before, Haddonfield and Coldwind are still to be reworked.
the devs don’t balance for rank 20 survivors. Have you ever seen a match with 4 rank 20 survivors? Also complaining about that while simultaneously asking for the devs to balance for inexperienced killers is a little bit hypocritical
-
@Tsulan said:
It's actually sad that instead of solving the issues killers have. They get told to play something else.
Actually they are listening to feedback of killer players and work on balancing.. just see DS change as a recent example. And they are working on changes to the key. And better matchmaking including killer specific hidden rank...
but if you don’t have fun playing the game at all as the killer role... maybe the game isn’t suited for you..
-
Stop playing if you don’t want to play. If you don’t enjoy something it won’t get better if you are trying to force yourself.
i have fun when I am playing killer almost every time, even if i don’t always get a 3-4K.

As I have said in the other thread, I would love a char like Carol from TWD, Laurie from the new Halloween movies or Wickerbottom from Dont Starve (Together) - but that’s only the age. I feel like the general direction they are going for with their characters tend to get boring..
All new characters seem to be pretty tough, ambitious and successful. That’s why I liked the older chars lorewise more even if those are shorter: just looking at Dwight, Meg, Claudette and Jake compared to Felix, Elodie and Yun-Jin (I like the darker side of Yun-Jin though)

You think those people are only Killer? Seems more likely the fragility would be on the survivor side. I mean to be bullied and brought down by an effeminate male killer might make some funny people uncomfortable. An unlike Killers, who could just decide not to play him, survivors would not have that option to forcibly not face him so they would be more vocal about how they want him gone.
Assuming I bought into the thought that the Alphabet community is truly being targeted and harassed but I’m on PS4 and I’m not exposed to any homophobia or whatever. Most of my message exchanges, that turn ugly, very rarely go that direction.

I have never played another game where people go out of their way to find my profile and leave vulgar or rude messages because i didn't follow their made up rule book.
It’s not exclusive to one side. There are toxic/immature people on both sides.
just because I am mostly seeing that behavior from one side doesn’t mean I should deny that the other side can be just as toxic.
there are generally more survivor players because of the asymmetrical nature of the game hence you see more from that side. Also they can easily buddy up in the chat. But generally speaking killers are not better. And actually they are making up rules and try to tell survivors how to play all the time just the same.

@Mooks I'm not asking for more that 50%. If they just stuck to a schedule where every other chapter is licensed, we would have a consistent 50% from here on out and there would still be a majority of original killers in the roster.
what i was trying to say is, their goal is not directly 50 % licensed but rather „anything less or up to 50 %“
but that’s just how i understood their statement. I do expect more licenses in the 5th year as I said.
-
They said their goal is to have not more than 50 % licensed and they do value their original creations and don’t want those to get overshadowed
also anniversary is almost guaranteed to be licensed. And we still have those rumors hinting at Candyman that could very well have been delayed due to movie delay.

I would honestly be thrilled with any of the characters SMG plays in any movie or show. Of course Sidney would be amazing but usually it’s the ones who have died or are close to death that end up with the entity
We got Laurie, Steve and Nancy, so that’s actually not a requirement!
and agreed on SMG! Though I don’t see Buffy as a potential survivor because of her powers. And Helen Shivers would come with a crown, so I want that char the most :)
-
I want Sarah Michelle Gellar as Helen Shivers from I Know What You Did Last Summer! Best chase scene from those classic slasher movies, cool character with great cosmetics options.
We got only the Ghostface mask from FunWorld btw, it doesn’t belong to the Scream franchise. They bought the rights to use the mask in the movies as well. That’s also why the character that wears the mask in game is not related to the Scream movies.
And Sidney Prescott is the obvious character we need as a survivor from the Scream movies.
-
Buying characters with cells is already more expensive than buying a chapter with the characters, so it wouldn’t make sense to make them more expensive.
so the question is, why are costumes so damn expensive. And frankly, because they can sell them this way. Why wouldn’t they take the money they can get.. it’s not like you are missing out on anything gameplay related if you are not buying cosmetics so I am fine with this (i only get cosmetics for shards)

Actually we are not born this way, but we develope this way. We are born asexual and usually with puberty we develope these feelings.
To focus people with that kind of sexuality in Dead by Daylight makes it to a political statement, because at this point nobody cared about their sexuality and you want to highlight that. Do normal people walk around and tell everybody they meet that they are gay just to get sure that everyone knows gay people exist? Nobodys cares and nobody needs this kind of representation.
Only the fact, that hetero sexuality is mentioned in the lore doesn't mean homosexuality doesn't exist or is excluded.
If you want to push a kind of rate for characters that have a non hetero alignment, you would have to rate every thing of the world to represent the world you live in properly. Do you see any children in the game? Does the game denies that childs exists with that? No. Do you see any disabled people in the game? Do the game denies that these kind of people exist? No.
I would prefer it, the creators concentrate to make interesting characters and if they are gay, I am fine with it. Put creating a character for the only purpose to have a gay character in it, is stupid.
And of course there are a lot of countries, that treat homosexuality as a crime or something similar, but Dead by Daylight is not responsible for that and having a gay character appearing in the game wouldn't change anything for people in these countries. In modern countries a gay man can marry another man, even adopt a child, have the same job and visit any place he want. And the people who play Dead by Daylight and who are create Dead by Daylight are living in these countries. Nobody would even think, that Dead by Daylight would exclude peope of any color, religion, gender or sexual preference, except those people who want to force their own agenda into everything.
There are children in the lore of the game and there actually are some disabled people as well (also playable).
also the devs want to be inclusive and they think they have unintentionally excluded LGBTQ+.
no one is asking them to create a token LGBTQ+ character (almost no one), but to just treat it the same
-
YAY from me!
there seem to be less bugs, we got colorblind mode(!!!!), DS as pure anti-Tunnel (which didn’t bother me either way), Wraith and Blight, no map rework or new map is sad but they said it’s because they couldn’t finish it in time (yay, no unfinished stuff just to get it done for a set date), new killer that will -unlike Blight and Twins- end up in my casual killer rotation, new survivor gets hopefully some affordable cosmetics that I like though.

Genuinely curious, what is it about DBD that has made the game especially popular with the LGBT community? Given that the existing characters are not explicitly stated as part of the LGBT community, what makes DBD different from other games to attract LGBT players?
Most LGBT people are not explicitly searching for games (or media) that have LGBT representation.
I have read an article about DbD and its popularity with the LGBT community and it stated that the slasher and horror genre on their own were already very popular for the community for different reasons.
adding to this, the current character cast is pretty diverse in many other aspects other than sexuality/sexual identity/gender. and it’s true That in many cases the chars are not confirmed to be either straight nor LGBT, which is not a bad thing at all (and no one asks to change that).

This is almost comical. Why would I admit to being wrong when I’m not wrong? I can’t emphasize enough that you don’t understand what a wild card is. No disrespect, maybe it’s simply a language barrier or something like that. The only other alternative is you are just trying to mess with me.
You refuse to acknowledge when you are wrong, like when I gave you multiple threads and you said it’s not enough. Quit moving the goal posts.
in the end it doesn’t matter. Even if there was a wild card LGBTQ+ char. What then? LGBTQ+ would still be completely absent from the game and we would still have many confirmed heterosexual relationships present. But you didn’t even admit that you were wrong about those.
or what about those multiple threads and demands in the forums that were explicitly asking for an openly gay character. You could only provide one example for your claim and that was one person that asked for it in November. You still tried to make me look like the one in the wrong here.

You could slap this exact fecker into Fortnite and he'd fit in better. Now I'm not sure if it was accidental or not, Trickster does look like a woman to look at. Heck when I first seen him before I knew it was a he, I thought it was a she. And bonus note, I thought the survivor was a vertically challenged person. It's just how it looked when I seen her 😅 but yeah, this chapter nobody wanted is a nightmare come true.
To be fair, he is Korean and in Korea this type of man isn’t directly considered to be feminine, they have other beauty standards and all.

At which point a gay man isn't treated equal to a hetero man? And what has that do to with the game? Is this really a necessary plattform for a political statement? Currently the lore of the game doesn't care about sexuality. Why should it be focussed when it never was a topic? Right now every character can be attracted to every gender for the player, because it's not defined the other way. Is this isn't equal enough?
Directly stated in lore:
- Nurse
- David
- Felix
- Frank and Julie
Heavily hinted at or in Cosmetic descriptions:
- Wraith
- Ace
- Oni
other lore characters:
- Claudettes parents
- That pig lady from tome 1
- Other parents, but i guess you can argue it’s mostly talked about only one parent and we don’t know more about that
And I am probably forgetting stuff
Asking for explicit exclusion of anything LGBTQ+ is asking for non-equal treatment and is actually more of a political statement than just treating LGBTQ+ topics the same way as heterosexual relationships and other mentions of heterosexuality
-
@Another_LegionMain said:
Last I checked, no characters have their preferences stated (or they are loosely said). I guess its headcannons to decide that.
It’s never explicitly stated but there are multiple hetersexual relationships mentioned while any LGBTQ+ topics are completely absent,
the devs will include LGBTQ+ in their game/lore though. Hopefully the same way as they have included heterosexuality
