You're right that things like this do need to be fixed but I don't understand why it bothers you so much. It's not like there are rank rewards. I'm assuming/hoping that if there are ever rank rewards they will address this first. But until then, rank is meaningless and people often complain playing red ranks as killer isn't fun anyway

i dont really care about my rank, but there is no bigger drag down than having a good game where you did really good and the first thing you read is "entity displeased" or "brutal killer", even though you literally swiped the floor with them non stop.

the biggest thing is, that DCers get exactly the outcome they want with DCing:

you, the killer, lost not only tons of potential BP, but also get no emblems after all the ######### you had to go through to even catch them.

thats not the case in this game, ofc, but thats something that does happen more often than one would think.

i dont really care about the rank i ended up on, but i would be lying when i say i wouldnt care about the outcome of the game and my emblems. i always try to get a win, of course, and i know many others do so aswell.

its just a design flaw that really annoys me and i would like to see gone tbh.

also, i do like red ranks more than these purple ranks, since the players there are usually a lot more chill. tey dont tryhard as much as purple ranks do, so games there last a little longer than the 5 mins they last in purple ranks without ruin.

  • i'd tell him where to efficiently place his traps if he lets me live :3

also, Evan is a good guy. bestestest killer ingame.

  • i cant hit them every single time - especially if the skillcheck is in the first haf of the circle or when its my first match of the day - but i do think i can hit them pretty consistently.

    id say somewhat around 8 / 10.

Your list was good until you put Plague in C tier. She's easily bottom of A tier, top of B tier. Thanna + Dying Light Plague is disgusting.

tbf, i never really played plague.

what ive seen of her tho is, that she gets genrushed very easily and for most survivors being injured all game isnt that big of a threat against a normal M1 killer.

we can talk about B-Rank, but A-Rank is too high for her imo.

That is very good. But I find half the time Tar Bottle sticks out more than you'd think, especially on maps like Ormond, Hawkins, or The Game. There are places there where Logwood is just better.

But then I'm weird like that. : P

    yeah, of course.

Trapper in general is rather map dependend.. :/

but since most of the maps have dark ground, Tar Bottle is usually a good call.

also, have you tried Logwood Dye on Pale Rose?

if you trap the boat, its godlike! (your traps have literally the same color as the boat itself)

  • Trapper with Stiched Bag and Tar Bottle.

additional Traps AND hard to see Traps?

    thats heaven for me!

  • S+-Rank:

    • Trapper (EvanMacGodhimself)

    S-Rank:

    • Nurse (Sally Smithson)
    • Spirit (Rin Yamaoka)

    A-Rank:

    • Hillbilly (Max Jr. Thompson / *no name* Thompson)
    • Hag (Lisa Sherwood)
    • Nightmare (Freddy Kruger)
    • Ghostface (Danny Johnson - "Jed Olsen")
    • Huntress (Anna)

    B-Rank:

    • Shape (Michael Myers)
    • Demogorgon
    • Doctor (Herman Carter)

    C-Rank:

    • Wraith (Phillip Ojomo)
    • Plague (Adiris)
    • Pig (Amanda Young)
    • Clown (Kenneth Chase - "Jeffrey Hawk")

    D-Rank:

    • Cannibal (Bubba Sawyer - "Junior")
    • Legion (Frank Morrison, Julie, Susie, Joey)

thats just my opinion, feel free to disagree.

they are also not necessarily sorted from strongest to weakest in the tiers themselves. i tried to do that aswell, but for some killers i probaply didnt do too well...

also i do know Trapper is too low :/

  • didnt happen to myself, but a friend of mine got called a "long range face camper" once... lol

  • in the menu, he seems to be the same height as Trapper.

EDIT: well, actually Trapper is about half a head taller (not counting the floating hair).

  • lol get banned toxic noob camper!

(yes, this is sarcasm. idk why but i kinda feel the need to point this out every time i do it, so....)

  • "they need to give the survivor a chance at escaping"

you failed at your main objective, then you failed at finding the hatch (which literally is a free escape) and you STILL get ANOTHER chance by having the gates trigger.

and you really complain about that?

after failing twice you complain about the third escape route being hard?

why shouldnt the killer get a kill at that point? he denied you two escape routes, why doesnt he deserve to get the kill now? what else does he need to do to "deserve the kill"?

and most importantly, what entitles you to get a free escape after failing twice?

  • Underrated Killers?

    definitely Trapper and Doctor.

  • looks like it, doesnt it?

actually, thats just his normal pose in the lobby though. he always has his hand with the knife that way, its like his fetish or something...

  • Clown:

    • works perfectly fine. what we need are some fixes (bottles exploding in hand) and a buff. a rework is unnecessary.

    Pig:

    • not a very strong killer, but in the right hands she can be very scary to face. her game slow down ability should not be underestimated, as she can, for a limited time, literally stop the game from progressing. though, she too needs some buffs to her power. like clown, a rework would be unnecessary here.

    Plague:

    • from what i've heard, she is actually a killer with a rather good kill rate. kinda sucks her power is survivor reliant, however we have the apple add ons. i dont really think she needs to be looked at, rather objective times are the issue that makes her weak.

    Doctor:

    • imo a very underrated killer. great tracking, decent hunting, but is very hard to play. i find him rather enjoyable to play tbh. i would not want a rework for him by any means, as i really like his power and how it can change, depending on the add ons you selected. a couple of smaller buffs here and there and he'd be fine imo.

now the one i think actually needs a rework:

    Legion.

the Legion needs a complete power overhaul imo. we experienced both, old legion and new legion: the "strong" legion and the "fixed" legion, and both didnt work out.

the "strong" legion was just the worst to go up against. no counterplay, no escape, long and boring chases. he needed to go.

however, the "fixed" legion shows how insignificant his power actually is. Deep Wound heavily favours survivors, he has nothing to catch them, he has nothing to track them and, thanks to the overnerfed Deep Wound, his map pressure and game slow ability are basically non existant.

there need to be significant changes to Deep Wound and he needs something else added to his power.

imo Deep Wound should always start with a paused timer that stays paused, until the survivors starts an action other than chase actions. this includes: repairing, healing, mending, cleansing, opening the gate, etc. once such an action is started, the timer will begin to tick down until the survivor drops dead. the timer will not stop ticking down anymore. this is to encourage players to go and look for a safe location they can then mend in / to disencourage them from repairing gens while in the killers TR.

for his additional power, why not allow him to get a stealth mode, similar to pig or ghostface?

allow him to take off the mask, put away the knife and "cosplay" as a survivor, imitating their movement, having no red stain and no heartbeat. uppon leaving this mode, there will be a short animation playing of him putting on his mask and he will automatically enter feral frenzy.

this would work together very well combined with the new Deep Wound changes, as now you inflict Deep Wound on them, they go hide and you can roam around the map in a stealth mode, trying to find those who have started their timer to get easy downs. it wwould also allow the trailer to make more sense.

Feral Frenzy changes i would include:

hitting a Survivor with FF will put them into the paused Deep Wound mode. hitting a Survivor with a paussed DW bar again will have no effect, but force you out of your power.

however, hitting a Survivor with an active DW timer with FF will automatically force you out of your power, however allow you to down the survivor.

just a little QoL, since many wanted the ability to down survivors while in FF anyway and if you have a started DW timer and have been found, there wont be an escape anyway, so i figured that Legion should be able to end the chase quicker in that scenario.

  • @PigNRun said:

    How do you do it?

go into a custom game and then just click and hold on your killer in the lobby.

with that, you can turn them like the survivors can turn their models around in a lobby.

this does not work in normal lobbies, sadly.

and it can lead to cool pictures like these:

Clown is ready for some fun!.png Myers greets you!.png OINK!.png

  • Free Kisses!.png

    *kissing sounds*

    yeah, thats great!

  • Killer:

Overrated: Hex: Ruin (usually gone within the first few minutes, leaving you with 3 perks and gens being done incredibly fast from that point in time onwards. also heavily reliant on RNG in form of totem spawns. on top of that, it's effects can be avoided just by hitting great skillchecks)

Underrated: Discordance (shows you exactly where you need to apply pressure to get the most out of it. if you manage to scare multiple survivors off a gen, that leaves at least 50% of the team with no objective progression, slowing down the game. very effective on killers with high map mobility, however also a strong tracking tool for stealth killers)

    Survivor:

Overrated: Decisive Strike (i am not saying it'd be a weak perk, i just think its a little overrated. like, you only get it to work if the killer is tunneling you off the hook and even then its a one time only use and can be easily avoided by simply slugging the survivor. still not a weak perk, as it basically gives you 60 seconds of all the freedome you need, since the killer wont be able to punish you for misplays. even if said misplay would be hookfarming the other dude from the hook, which can be very annoying to face as killer - if both have DS. still, avoidable by slugging.)

    Underrated: Plunderers Instinct (keys.)

  • devs, can i PLEASE have my legacys back?

    thanks ^^

It's all explained right here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/836490/#Comment_836490

There's different reasons for each, but don't worry, we've thought about each one and there's a very good reason why some are included and others are not.

    the question is:

will they just be handed out for free?

or will they, like the other event items, be added to the store instead?

imo the ultra rares should be in the store too for 1080 auric cells.

that way players who had them earlier will keep them while others will have to pay something to obtain them, similar to other shop items.

just so players who bought them from the web wont feel like they just threw away their money for nothing.

  • one Survivor P3 + all (unlocked) perks

    11 killers P3 + all perks

  • i just recently asked the support.

    their answer was:

"As for the missing Legacy Prestige skins, we still haven't received any updated regarding this issue. I understand that it has taken a lot of time now, but unfortunately, we are also waiting for an update regarding the said issue."

so yeah. probaply not in a long, long time.

  • i am sorry that you misunderstood that poll.

i was not trying to only ask the "nerf spireh!" community, this was a poll for everyone to participate in. if i ask "what mekes charakter X too strong?" i need to provide you with the ability to say "huh, but character X isnt even too strong...".

thats because not everyone has the same opinion on the same topic, so if one makes a poll, they need to try to allow every opinion to be voiced. in this case, even though i asked what made her too strong, there had to be the possibility to say "she is not", otherwise i'd leave out a part of the playerbase.

this would also make the poll look like its only ment to show how "op the killer is" (therefore being biased towards one side and not neutral), since everyone who voted, voted for something that was too strong on her, without being open for discussion (which is why the last part was specifically added - to make sure ppl who dislike spirit and ppl who like her dont try to kill each other in the comments here / to distance myself from such behavior)

    now, regarding your second post:

no, she is in fact not being reworked.

a rework would mean a full on power overhaul, like it happened with Freddy. in this case, there is just a nerf coming up for her - actually with most of the things that players in this poll voted for being unfun, like collision and Prayer Beads Bracelet.

PS: since you complained about there being an option to say spirit was fair and balanced: 71% of the players voting in this poll said she was too strong. this option only underlined the communities believe that she was too strong, as even the players who said she was fine only made 29% of the overal votes, showing that a vast majority of the players didnt like the killer the way she is right now.

  • @then4321 said:

The problem with this poll is that the people who play as her are also voting.

This poll is directed toward survivors.

The Spirits problem is that her power gives almost no feedback at all, so counter play is guesswork.

I'm not saying ALL of the "she's fine" votes are from killers, but MOST of the "she's fine" voters are people that play her and don't want a rework.

this pole is ment for everyone to give their opinion on the spirit.

this includes both sides, the Survivors and the Killers, i will not be excluding one side, otherwise this poll would be biased and no longer represend the communitys opinion on the killer.

some like her, some dislike her. thats fine, thats what the "i think spirit is fine" option is there for, to show that you disagree with all the hate on the killer.

just as you have your opinion, please accept other peoples opinion on this matter aswell.

not everyone thinks she is OP, as this poll shows. saying the opinion from those players would be invalid is just wrong and heavily biased.

Lol demo brought some of the worst perks in dbd..mind breaker is so bad it makes sb more powerful lol

    yeah...

Mindbreaker is basically useless, Cruel Limits needs to block the vault locations a LOT longer to be even worth considering and Surge only works for normal M1 hits for some reason, which again is killing the perk.

though Surge is at least somewhat decent - but the other two...

Considering other buffs can be applied in higher numbers and instantly I doubt it would be that huge..but it would be nice not to get a crappy perk..weve had a lot of those recently

maybe the next chapter will provide us with with some good perks ^^

i do agree the Demogorgon perks have been rather underwealming... and GF also didnt bring the best perks in - they are better than Demo's perks though.

  • as @LordRegal already stated, yes you can be banned for that.

the devs themselves dont have any problem with you changing your icons. they wont go out of their way to ban you for that, even if they saw it. many streamers have such icon upgrades.

the problem is, that DbD is using Easy Anti Cheat (EAC), which is a programm they themselves dont have any control over. if EAC detects that you have been altering the game files. you will be automatically banned, as EAC thinks you tried to add something to give you an unfair advantage over other players.

If said scenario appears, you will not be able to get unbanned by the devs, since they are not in control over EAC. you would have to email the company themselves and ask for being unbanned by explaining the matter to them, however weather that really works or not is uncertain.

i hope that fully answered the question for you ^^

  • @immortalls96 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/833404#Comment_833404

Mhm...so you think it's ok for survivors to get powerful perks with no real need to earn it..while killers should be strictly mediocre? That's pretty crappy if I'm honest

the difference here is, that this perk will force them to hold M1 for even longer than they already have to, which is just unfun and not at all interesting gameplay.

and with that in mind, i think -25% with only 5 hooks is just too strong.

also i never said it would be "ok for survivors to get powerful perks with no real need to earn it.. while killers should be strictly medicore".

i never even started talking about survivor perks or how balanced they would be. also, the new Dying Light is not just "medicore". its a really good perk, though it requires you to work for it, which imo is an important aspect.

your idea would just turn the game into an M1 simulator very fast, with no way to turn it off other than the obsession DCing. 5 hooks is just not enough of an requirement to justify such a huge debuff to the survivors, thats all i'm trying to say.

  • i think the "complete 3 gens while using the perk Dark Sense in one trial" one is gonna be the one challenge that will cost me the most time...

  • well, its a lot faster than the 8 to 9 hooks you are requitred to get now to achieve similar numbers...

if its a killer with good snowballing potential, 5 hooks can be done rather fast.

  • imo PGTW is the best perk to replace Ruin with.

    Ruin is just so... bad...

    regarding your change suggestion:

i think having a 25% action speed slowdown for everyone that is achieved very fast is not going to be healthy for this game.

the devs are trying to avoid the M1 simulator Survivor can be and add more unique gameplay elements, and a perk like that would be very counteractive towards that goal.

Got curious and checked the wiki, it's 10 to be exact.

Demo is an alien, Legion is Canadian (Counting as either 1 or four entries in this list, depending on how you look at it) Plague is Babylonian, Spirit is Japanese, Huntress is Russian, and both Hag and Wraith are native African. Wraith moved to America for a bit before he was taken, but apparently he still considered himself more culturally African at the time, since his designation is distinctly different from Doctor's African American.

Of particular note is that every licensed killer besides Demo is American; If narrowed down to characters DBD can decide the nationality of it's 7-10 non-American (The specific number here depends on how much you think Legion counts and whether category Original-Character-Bloastface counts as licensed) and 5-6 American (With Ghostface once more being a variable)

as ive said above, i didnt look it up 14 was just out of my head.

though, we can say for sure that Trapper, Billy, Nurse, Myers, Doctor, Bubba, Freddy, Pig, Clown, Legion (yes, Canada is a part of the American continent, so he is american - he counts as 1 killer tho) and Ghostface (11 killers in total)

the killers we know for sure are not american killers would be: Huntress (russian), Hag (african), Spirit (japanese) and Plague (babylonian) (4 killers in total)

    now, regarding Wraith and Demogorgon:

yes, you are correct, they both didnt originally come from America, though both killers have started killing there. Wraith was a peaceful person until he met A. Azarov who made him snap and kill - which is why i considered him to be american, as was "born as a killer" in that country.

for Demogorgon, since he only really showed up in America and was killing over there, i too count him as an American Killer. Though, we cant really call him a "Killer" at all, as he is just a hungry little fella. he's such a good boi :3

so yeah, those two would be up for debate. feel free to not include them in your list.

that would still leave us with 11 American and 6 not American killers, which basically leaves us with 2/3 of the killers being American, which tbh isnt really counteractive towards my argument.

  • @anarchy753 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/833189#Comment_833189

Huntress is Russian, Plague is Babylonian, Wraith is African, Doctor is at least based loosely in Chinese lore. So even including some of the biggest licensed horror icons in the world, that only leaves you with 12 at most.

that would still be 12 out of 16 though, a vast majority.

tbh, i didnt really look up the killers. glad you came up with the actual number ^^

though i have to admit i did count Wraith as an American killer, as, even if he wasnt born in America, he still spent a lot of his time there and only started killing after discovering what A. Azarov has done, which was in America. so i kinda counted him, since he as a killer only was active in America.

also Doc is said to be African - American.

  • and?

we also have like 14 american killers, i dont see the problem.

  • Unicorn Trapper

    Swimming Trunks Clown

    Shirtless Myers

    Nude Demogorgo- oh wait.. nvm.

a pink ballerina dress for Demogorgon then.

  • @Boosted_Dwight said:

That challenge is a place holder :l

    i sincerly hope so.

on the other hand, players also thought the new trap set animation for trapper was a place holder, and now we're stuck with it.

  • survival is the survivors primal objective.

it shouldnt matter how you did it, all that matters is that you escaped. you won. you shouldnt be able to lose with that, even if you just sat in a locker 24/7. apparently that worked.

we can talk about hatch escapes though, since the last survivor kinda gets a free escape chance handed out to them via hatch.

If a 3-4K should be an automatic pip, a 0-1k should be an automatic depip though, I don’t see why in one case you want to consider the overall match to avoid a depip and in another you don’t.

i didnt say a 3k should be a pip tho.

a 3k should not equal a depip, since you killed majority of the survivors, which can never be considered a loss for the killer. a 4k literally means you killed every last survivor in the trial, no one got out with all the chances they have had, so you should win. you did all of your objective, there is no way for you to improve on that, you got 100%. this is a clear win and should be treated as such.

and if you got a 0k i highly doubt the emblems would be able to save you from a depip there. a 1k too will most certainly have you depip, though a 2k, the "perfect balance" as the devs like to call it, has a real chance of not having you depip if you did well.

0k = a very bad game for you. equally bad emblems --> pretty much a guaranteed depip

1k = a bad game for you. emblems might be okay tho --> most of the time a depip, can be a safepip too.

2k = the "perfectly balanced game". if you won or lost will be decided by the emblems. good gameplay allows you to stay, bad gameplay doesnt. in rare cases a win. (2k = you perfectly fit into this rank)

3k = a good game for you. you killed most of the survivors, this can not be called a loss anymore. with good gameplay this will allow you to rank up aswell --> safepip. with good gameplay also a pip.

4k = a merciless game. you killed everyone, there is nothing left you could do. --> a pip. if you played very well, maybe even a 2 pip. this can never be called anything less than a win. (4k = you dominated the survivors. you should definitely be leaving this rank)

however, sometimes there are very rare cases of killers doing very well, but then having mercy on the survivors / BP farming killers. those, who do not kill the survivors because they dont want to (not because they were not able to), should be able to stay at their current rank.

2k is the target, not 1k. 1k on average would mean they're very weak and desperately need a buff.

honestly, before you start "balancing killers to get an average of 2 kills" you should really look into your emblem system.

cause in the current state a 2k means a safe depip and therefore equals a loss - a 3k is usually a draw and a win can only really be achieved by a 4k or a game of total domination.

so balancing every killer around 2ks while not allowing for even a draw with said outcome is not gonna work out.

there are good reasons why people only play "top tier" killers in high rank - alias the killers who are not "balanced around 2ks". any killer who would be "balanced" in your terms horribly loses up there.

so if you want to bring variety into high rank gameplay, maybe you shouldnt nerf the killers who are "overperforming" first and instead allow other killers, who should be "balanced" to be able to win. and i dont necessarily mean "buff these killers", thats not necessary for quite a lot of them, though the emblem system, the reason those killers wont win, needs to be readjusted.

my suggestion would be to kinda fuse the victory cube into it, so a 3k equals at least a safepip and a 4k at least 1 pip.

0 - 2ks would then end up as depips / safepips (or in rare cases maybe even pips), depending on the emblem qualities.

of course there would have to be reworks for the emblems themselves too.

Actually it's closer to 5 seconds.and that's with the green addon to reduce the cooldown...five seconds of free distance and ability to move potentially out of los..its honestly degrading that they added the change under the table like they did

5 seconds - 3 of them will be spend in the normal fatigue though.

so you only have an additional 2 seconds to wait.

yeah but right now you only get survival points from, healing yourself, unhooking yourself, and escaping so you dont get that much thats why i say prob boldnes

that would be too easy though.

what we need imo is more blood score events for the Survival cathegory instead.

    currently we have:

    • healing yourself with selfcare
    • mending yourself
    • cleansing yourself
    • escaping a Reversed Beartrap
    • escaping the killers grasp
    • wiggeling on the killers shouder
    • struggeling on the hook
    • escaping the hook
    • entering Endgame Collapse
    • surviving
    • surviving as the obsession
    • dying as the obsession

sadly, majority of these are eigther incredibly hard to pull of or depend on vertain perks / killers being used.

the ones that are always available for every survivor are:

    • escaping the killers grasp
    • wiggeling on the killers shoulder
    • struggeling on the hook
    • surviving
    • escaping the hook
    • entering Endgame Collapse

thos done give too many points though or are very hard to achieve, which is why that is the BP category you are almost guaranteed to make the least BP in.

i think however we can change this by adding some more possible score events. especially when thinking of No Mither, one in particular comes to mind:

    • standing back up from the ground

besides that, i also have a few ideas to what else we could add:

    • staying within a close are to the killer without being spotted (stealth buff)
    • escaping the Endgame Collapse (more points the closer it is to death)

please note that this is not supposed to give you a lot of survival points on top now, you should still work for this category and you should not be able to gain many BP in it with dying.

the idea is to encourage good players to give the perk a shot for bonus points, however having bad team mates equipt the perk because of some 2x BP mechanic would hurt the survivors a lot more than it would help, so the bonus points need to be hard to earn.

  • if its fake, you gotta kiss Demogorgon. deal? :3

I think a lot of us would like this particular bug to stay and become a feature in the main game!

wait a second, thats a bug? lol

  • double BPs would be a little much, considering we also already have a double BP survivor perk.

also, double BP could potentially backfire, as now everyone would run the perk, therefore making x2 BPs, but no one escapes anymore.

i think x2 BP for Survival would be fair, as it would give you a bonus, but doesnt attract everyone to the perk to get more BPs, but actually only the ones who think they can get out and do well.

  • i wouldnt mind it tbh, though i also dont think it is necessary.

you shouldnt be running around in treatment mode all the time anyway.

  • welp, sadly this only seems to work in custom games lobbies...

    @fluffymareep @SaintDenisSlasher :c

@Peanits can we add this to the normal lobbies too, please? :3
