I would love an empty game to finally learn how those buildings in the swamp are laid out. I find them confusing to the point where I just slug survivors I down in there because I wouldn't get out before they wiggle free.
Also, the Silent Hill map. #########. Let me try and understand it, without pressure.

The Gore: They want to sell their game in countries that would ban it if you had it like that.
Lighting: Survivors should have darker lighting in general to killers. They don't have enhanced senses.
Audio: That is what the newer TRs are going for. It is why I like PH's, Deathslinger's, and Demogorgon's music a lot, because it is all foreboding and eerie when first entering the TR. They are definitely nailing the actual sound design, even if survivor sounds are bugged half the time.
AFAIK depiction of bones is banned in China, so they have to make a separate version for it anyway with all those Wraith clobbers and Totems. LoL also has several skins unavailable or changed there, including the splash art.
-
That didn't work for Deathgarden and it would outright kill DbD. You have DS and Flashlights to fight back. Even Flashlights were, at one point, deemed too strong so they were nerfed.
-
Solution: Allow players to work on one challenge and one master challenge (the ones that require to be done in one match) simultaneously.
-
edit - I'm blind :D

A lot of skillchecks probably happen while you are doing a gen (duh), and you are probably doing a lot of gens while the killer is busy with a different survivor. When he is done, the poor guy gets hooked. So a lot of survivors get hooked while you are doing gens. Of course a lot of skillchecks happen while a survivor is being put on the hook.
There's a difference between correllation and causation.

I always wanted to know. What does TLDR mean?
"Too Long; Didn't Read"
It used to mean "you wrote too much, I won't bother reading it" and was adopted to mean "In case this is too much text for you, here is the short version".

Is spine chill actually still being used? I saw it on two survs recently and was stumped. There are so many good perks nowadays that spine chill is not something you usually take.
-
5-10 minutes atm at rank 11, was much worse at rank 15. I expect it to be <1 min at rank 5, if I ever get there.
Just do something on the side and keep an eye on the screen.
-
I've had one spirit all day and more than half of all killers are trappers. Seriously, usually it's Myers and Pig with the occasional Billy, but I've never seen so many Trappers since Nurse came out.
-
Depends on whether it was a lost connection/bug early in the game, or whether that player DC'd after I downed him. If I downed him, he could just as well just suicided on the hook and I earned my kill by catching him, he already bought his team some time. But I won't play hardcore. If it is someone I didn't encounter yet and I have the impression I am dominating them, I hook them and leave, giving them an easy unhook, and avoid deathhooking them, instead leaving them on the floor one or two times. Essentially, I am a mouse playing with my food, which is the way this game should be able to be played anyway in my opinion. I get an easy game and we all get some points.

@Starbricks19 I have over 1700 hours and never prestiged. I rather keep the perks I earned. The grind is hard enough without that and you will need many millions just to get all perks all killers. So far I have earned almost 190 million bloodpoints and spent them all without prestige.
Excuse me?
I have about 1200 hours and prestiged about two thirds of the killers to P3, the rest is at level 50. You should be about done with getting all perks on all killers if you never prestiged, right?
My reasoning is that, sooner or later I will run out of things to buy with bloodpoints, so I might as well P3 a killer before I start collecting all perks for him, or all is lost when I do prestige after all.

@Incirion Thank you!

Perfect, where do I find this in higher quality? I know that it's not bannable in any way, but most survivors don't seem to.

Yeah, definitely. But there's an exception - the killer can close the hatch now, so there's no hatch standoff. It means killer can just kill the survivor if he detects them while staying on the hatch, so the hatch itself loses sense. I mean, yeah, closing the hatch powers exit gates, but the survivor can't open it while being chased, so he dies anyways. I'm not complaining, I'm just curious 😉
So maybe survivors realize now that permalooping until the killer loses interest and hunts someone else is no solution in the endgame. You have to try and lose the killer by actually being stealthy when you manage to break line of sight.

I know, but I have one question.
Why do you want to rank up?
I don't really WANT to rank up, but look at it this way: Having a good match (or even a bad match) feels better if the game tells you "You did well". Imagine playing a game where you walk around, collect stuff and kill enemies, until you reach the exit to the next level. You did everything you could to leave nothing behind. Then you reach the exit and the tally screen says:
Enemies killed: 34/100 - D
Credits collected: 278/1000 - D
Secrets found: 6/20 - D
Time: 12:44 mins - D
Total: Rank D
The game itself basically tells you that you failed, or at best have a mediocre score.
Well you COULD stay in the level for hours and keep looking until you found absolutely everything. But in DBD, you are not alone. Four players actively work against you and you can't take your sweet time to farm up your score. But you have to intentionally prolong the game, to play worse than you can, in order to have a chance that the game tells you that you did well.

Yes. That's exactly what you should do. The fact that you have bronze in chaser tells me that you probably camped most of this match and some people probably died on their first hook because you didn't allow them to be saved.
It's really not that hard to get kills in this game. I play killer with no hex ruin and get 3ks in at least 70% of my matches. Killer is easy as hell right now
Two points of evidence that I didn't camp:
- If you camp, your deduction from the Chaser score is much higher than 4%, and more importantly:
- Look at the aftergame chat. Nobody calls me a camper even though at least one of then stuck around - meaning he is probably in SWF with the last surviving player.
The fact that I have bronze in Chaser only shows that they stepped in my traps over and over.
-
- 3+ toolboxes either means genrush or mass sabotage.
- P3 Claudettes everywhere! If I can't expect to see you, I won't play against you.
- 4-man-swf joining with everyone in camo colors and only one surv in shiny cometics with a flashlight. This is the typical "3 scrubs with their rank 1 captain" setup: He tries to get your attention and loop you through all the pallets on the map while his teammates do gens.
- Several Feng Mins with Shibuya masks. Dunno, this somehow screams "I want to sh*t in your face because I am cool!"
Conversely, the higher the amount of male survivors, the more likely I am to play this match. Because it signals "we are not tryharding and optimizing our wireframe by playing the smaller female survivors".
-
You probably saw a really old Youtube video. Traps clipping into the ground used to be a thing, but that has been fixed since forever.

Did you camp and tunnel or something?
I only ask because Legacy Trapper, Rank 15 and only 16k points earned seems low af.
How long did that game last?
As you can see, I have -4% for proximity to hooked survs, so no, not really camping. I got looped a few times around the shack with someone on the hook next to it and two or three times someone ran from me straight to that hook. The Dwight on it was unhooked, ran for the window and stepped in my trap. This happened two times, after it was that exact trap that caught him in the first place and each time I re-set it in his plain sight. Dwight stuff.
The map was Red Forest, though I don't remember exactly which one as I can't tell them apart. It was the one with the shack in one far corner. I can't say the game was especially long or short.
-
per se.
PER SE.
NOT "per say".
It's latin. https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/per_se
Sorry but it really bugs me every time I see it spelled wrong.
-
BBQ usually tells me one of two things:
- Everyone is either right around the corner or in a locker.
- The generator on the other side of the map will pop in a few seconds.
Both are more or less useless to me. BBQ has a min range of 40 meters.
-
Easy solution: Make it easier for survivors to rank up. That way lower killers get fewer survivors outclassing them and higher killers get faster lobbies.
-
Just to support what I am saying: Had another game like that just now.
"2% Survivor found"??? At 3 kills, I am only awarded 2%? 17% Survivors hit? What else am I to do, let them escape and catch them again just so I get the % to pip? The game is basically telling me, "You did what you needed to win, but that's not what I expect you to do. No cookie for you."

Stop complaining about adrenaline! 🤣😉
Which totem do I need to cleanse for adrenaline to not happen?
-
With clown you can throw your bottles at potential escape routes before the survivor even arrives there. The cloud stays a few seconds and acts as an alarm to tell you which of several possible exits from a jungle gym or building the survivor has taken.
-
It feels different when the game chooses for you than when you roll a die and lock the killer in yourself.

The tactic is going to end up being make survivors sick until all but 1 fountain is left. Then go get your power up. When it goes away make someone sick. Rinse repeat until the game is over.
I also figured that out, but how many fountains are there actually?

He isnt saying pulling Survivors into Dream World is difficult. He is saying its easier to do it than uncloaking as Wraith and landing a hit, yet it rewards more BP than the Wraith one.
Those are just remnants of an era back when Wraith was considered OP and Hillbilly was crap. I honestly just trash them when I get those (but to be fair, I dont play any of the three originals).
Was Wraith ever considered OP? I remember the "He's invisible how am I supposed to win?" whining, but that's all.
This is the third iteration of rituals btw. I don't remember if the first try was like the current status (it was certainly similar), but then they introduced 100k+ rituals that took way longer to complete. I liked those, but they didn't last for long. So I highly doubt the BP discrepancies between killer rituals are remnants of when only the basic killers were available.
-
I'm asking because I often get called this after a match where I didn't have any idea what I was supposed to do. E.g. people hugging wall labyrinths when I play nurse. I didn't really do anything unsportsmanlike like camping and all four escaped. So I thought it is possible that it was just meant as an ackowledgement of "this killer player needs more experience", especially since no other unsults or the like were coming.
-
A Kate just called her teammates trash after I finally caught her and camped her to death, followed by a 4k (she was only the second kill). She took my nurse on a tour around the warehouse map, back and forth over the complete map about 5 times, slalom through ruins, loop around the shack, back through the ruins to the warehouse, through the windows and back. Never a clear line of sight for more than 1 second and no addons for me. Then finally caught her and for sure weren't going to let her go again, especially after she was unhooked once already and also DS'd me.
Her mates did 2 gens in the meantime with Hex:Ruin active and Thanatophobia with 2 stacks.
There was more salt than in the Dead Sea.
-
Me not wiggling has actually never led to the killer carrying me to the basement unless that was where he was going either way. If I ever see one doing that, I will start wiggling, but killers just chose the nearest hook because time is precious.
-
I just don't see the point of wiggling when the path is absolutely unobstructed and instead of 4 seconds, it takes him 4.2 seconds to get me there. To help me wiggle free, all three of them would have had to tank two hits each. Which they almost did, but it wouldn't have been worth it either way.
-
I got caught. It happens. The other three practically turned themselves in.
-
Looks very interesting indeed! "The Plague" - I expect AOE debuff similar to clown, but probably VERY different gameplay.

Maybe he is on console where huntress is free.Oh. I didn't see that he listed three killers, I thought he was just asking generally.
Of these three: Spirit. Clown is okay, but I don't like his playstyle personally. Spirit allows for different ways of playing her: Mobility, mind games, sneaky gengrabs. Also, at least two really cool skins (kimono and schoolgirl, various colors).

No love for Huntress?

The Killer won't need to wait (as if unable to do anything else) 60 seconds for anything. Just chase the one who unhooked the hooked survivor. It's not a perfect fix, but the only scenario I can think of is if 2 survivors are left, 1 unhooks the other and they are right next to an open exit. That is the only time I can think of that DS would actually be useful.More often than not, when I return to a hook after an unhook, I find the one I previously had hooked and nobody else because the unhooker sneaked away or is probably a P3 Claudette hiding in a dark corner, while the unhooked one leaves scratch marks all over the place. What this DS really does is just promoting unsafe hooks as long as you believe you can duck away.

@TrAiNwReCk said:
I'm not sure on this, but I would assume if there were to be a timer of any sort it would only clue the killer to the fact that survivor actually has DS and then will be able to purposely wait until their timer runs out = an unusable perk.Killer waiting for 1 minute = free win for survivors. Time is the one ressource the killer has to spend to do everything in the game.
-
AdmiralBahroo was my favourite and I hope he gives the game a try again when the next killer comes out or he (maybe) gets fed up with the action shooters for a while. I really like his snarkiness and his "WTFISTHISSH*T" approach to games, but I just can't get into shooters.
Tru3 has a nice laid-back attitude, but I'm not interested in survivor gameplay so I skip every second game.
Monto makes interesting videos, have yet to watch him in a stream.
A few others that I won't mention by name seemed good to me, but their behaviour quickly made me leave their streams forever.
-
I would make it "Random Mode": No matter what you choose, as soon as the game starts you get a completely random loadout. Random perks, random items, random addons, random offerings, random killer. Sure, you can get duds like No Mither + Selfcare, but I think if EVERYONE gets random stuff and it's just for the fun of it, then you can roll with it and still have a good time.
-
My idea:
1. slow down gen repair by 50%
2. randomly choose 3 chests to contain "repair parts" (can be carried in addition to a normal item)
3. gen repair skillcheck sweet spots are 50% larger for survivors carrying repair parts (so repair is still slow, but you should almost always get extra progress for skillchecks) and give more progress bonusThat way, searching chests is still only a bonus, but it serves a purpose for the primary objective.

I start the game. I look at my daily, sometimes reroll it. I play. I close the game.
It's not a feel-good-game of My Little Pony. It's a slaughterfest.
-
Either balance SWF groups by giving them a handicap of some sorts, or reward the killer more for playing against them. I don't mind the added difficulty as long as I get something out of it.
Make a timer that starts as soon as all gens are done that reduces the playing field or somehow threatens the survivors so the last one doesn't crouch around the map looking for the hatch.

As for Grim Pantry. It was released alongside his crippled Chapter, but was never intended as HIS map. It was a long planned addition to the Backwater Swamp Realm of the Hag so that Granma's Cookbook wouldn't be a 100% chance for Pale Rose anymore.Interesting, considering that other realms only have one map, including the much earlier Haddonfield and the Crotus Prenn Asylum, at that point.
Haddonfield, Springwood and Gideon Meat Plant will probably stay singular because of licensing. But there's nothing stopping them from adding more Lery's Memorial Institute, Red Forest, Yamaoka Estate or Mt. Ormond maps.
