Ace, David, and Nea all come to mind. The playboy gambler, the borderline sociopathic fight-enthusiast, and the vandal.

Fr, nothing screams incompetency like BMing this hard after getting run around by a skilled player. I had a Ghostface on Hawkins tunnel the hell out of me despite me looping him all game, almost got out if someone bodyblocked correctly but eh whatever, GG, then he T-bags the hook and has a mental breakdown in chat. Good to know the salt-mines are still open despite the current restrictions. :P

The cinematics do have a tendency to be rework existing lore of a character to further it. I don't want to discuss datamined content but I've seen the cinematic and yes, it's a little different. What interested me was that they all wore that same Purge style mask instead of the grins we know Legion to wear.

Please don't sexualize the spirit, that's disgusting. And please don't mock other people for not changing their minds if you do the exact same thing.
Stubbornness is only a worthwhile trait when it comes to things that are 100% undebateable. The Spirit's power is not something a wise person would be stubborn over. Without restriction, Freddy would melt the world because he can. Without restriction, the Nurse would teleport anywhere she wants and exact her psychotic tendencies. Without restrictions, the Trapper could hold all his bear traps (scary AF trust me). Without res-
Point is, the Spirit isn't the end-all-be-all killer when we have a literal dream-demon and a woman who can phase through walls. She's strong, but not the best.

I miss when the Devs would release a themed cosmetic pack with each chapter. They stopped after Legion and I have no clue why. Could you clear this up, @Peanits ?

if we were truly going by "lore" freddy would techinically be invincible and kill all of them because they have no dumb teens to interfere with him. you saw how he ######### up immortal Jason in the dream world up until the kids came in the picture (like all the other noes movies). also everytime freddy dies he just comes back because he is a dream "demon". but in dbd he is not like that, it says it in his story, plus it would be boring. you are just saying that because entity made spirit look like an onryo means she inherits all powers of every single onryo in fictional existence. she just looks like one it never says she can destroy entire cities, if she could the survivors would all be dead, but they aren't, entity doesn't MAKE killers into extremely powerful things like an actual onryo but he can make them look like one (oni)
This post right here, chief. ^^^^
If the Spirit was half as strong as she is being talked up to be, she would merk every survivor within the opening seconds of a trial. The Entity is like a kid with a tub of Legos and a deep understanding of what's OP and what isn't (foreign concept for most people, let alone a kid). It makes or pulls in killers based upon their lives or their emotions and sorta just makes em look like something to either convey the image of power (Spirit) or to piss em off tenfold (Oni). Freddy was nerfed to hell by the Entity on purpose because he's almost godtier, people really think the Entity would let the Spirit have the true power of an Onryo and let her raze cities? Pfffftttttttt.

Not necessarily, it’s possible it might just be from Julie’s perspective, we may still learn a lot about the other members.
The video that came out today said that the tome is about her specifically. I said that the tome will have her as the primary figure, but it'll still have Joey, Susie, and of course Frank.
-
Well, we're not getting a Legion tome with 10 lovely entries about all four, we're getting 10 entries focused primarily on Julie... Which means we're getting at least three more tomes with Legion in them down the line. Yay, I guess?

Vigo escaped? Did I miss something?
When was the escape of Vigo mentioned?
It's mentioned in the lore from the Hallowed Blight that Vigo is supposedly the first to escape the realm of the Entity.
-
@Walker_of_the_fog_96 said:
@Mikeadatrix benedict baker names himself in every text entry of that event, I invite you to check it!
The wiki isn't canon and it was never stated that the person writing the Hallowed Blight lore was Benedict. They have conflicting origin stories too. Benedict went after the MacMillan estate while the Hallowed Blight writer, presumably the Alchemist, was snatched up in an opium den.

Yeah, that was a huge reveal. The way it was framed also seemed to directly imply, if not state, that Claudette, and likely Dwight as well, will eventually escape their endless suffering, which is honestly all I've ever wanted from the Lore since the game began. :)
Agreed, I hope that when this game eventually goes the route of Payday 2, a sad but inevitable fate for any multiplayer game that knows when its time is up, they have a satisfying conclusion that either leads to a sequel with new characters or a potential spinoff series of higher quality.
-
@VolantConch1719 said:
Part of me hopes that, if the Alchemist really is Vigo (as is theorized) and he is released later on, that Benedict is the Survivor that comes with him. Both are background characters that play a major role in the game's story, so seeing them come out together would be thematically wonderful.
Another part of me wants to believe that he is the Observer (though I'm pretty sure this was confirmed false). It would give him a bigger role that makes perfect sense for him.
The final part of me believes that he is in the Void, and we'll never see him again. He gave a description (well, a description in a similar style to Baker's existed, anyway) about Clown, and Spirit was when he truly disappeared, and I believe that was when we learned about the Void, so it would make sense.
Sucks, man, Benedict was cool.

"I study the memories of survivors and killers who have escaped or who WILL escape this timeless dimension."
Ladies and gentleman, do you fathom how important this sentence is to the lore of the game? Vigo is not the only one to escape the Entity with his life. Others have and will and I'm led to believe that the survivors we have ingame are infact destined to escape this hell one day. But the part that blows my mind is that it mentions killers who have escaped and will escape down the line... I'm starting to see the formation for a storyline that will run its course over the next few years in regards to DBD. I'm very much looking forward to seeing which Killers turn against the Entity. Evan seems to be an obvious candidate.
-
I think Benedict is gone, honestly. After the release of the Clown, his little anecdotal descriptions of his first encounters with a killer vanished. I hope he's alright since he was quite interesting to have someone in Vigo's shoes (intelligence wise) that hadn't been fortunate enough to escape like Vigo did.
-
There's some conflicting details when it comes to the Killers and the in-between time they have but one dev said they are all isolated to their specific realms. Still, this conflicts with characters like Bubba and Ghostface, the mapless boys. Another dev said that killers wander the realms and if they see each other they sorta respectfully nod and move on. But that doesn't make sense with a killer like Demogorgon, an unsympathetic monster.

Yes I understand what the wiki says. And after testing it in KYF the bar does go down but it does so much more slowly than it did with Deathslinger despite the looping scenarios being the same. The key difference is one seemed to account for the fact a chase was going on and the other had chase constantly broken. This included getting into lockers while the time timer appeared to drastically slow when in range of a killer in comparison to the rate it occurs on deathslinger. However as Mandy said chase has no effect on deep wound only whether or not you’re running.
So what I’ve gathered is killers can abuse deep wound and force you into scenarios in which they can constantly pressure you were you will not be able to mend and in the case of deathslinger not receive chase points despite being actively in chase. While Legion may not be able to abuse this scenario as often as gunslinger can because they aren’t range I understand now that my best option for playing against him is to avoid him at all costs and leave my teammates to die while hooked since his terror radius won’t proc borrowed time. If I am hooked it’s better to kill myself on hook rather than be forced to play a game in which I won’t be rewarded compensation for my efforts in the form of blood points.
While I won’t be joining one of the many players that revoked their EULA because they find Deathslinger isn’t properly executed as a killer I will be more mindful in the future when dealing with him by not dealing with him at all.
So the solution is to DC over an upper midtier killer because your friend made a bad play and walked around the same loop when they were inflicted with Deep Wound? Just run and boom, problem solved. Outpositioned? Well, darn, that's DBD for you, sometimes you get outpositioned into a deadzone.

I could go on for hours about that damn gun of his, but the main thing that I wish was changed about him is his TR music. I think it just needs to be louder and more obvious. Like a more noticeable start to it. Listen to my boi Mikey's terror radius for comparison. It's noticeable the instant you're inside it, giving you a decent amount of time to react and to know how close he is. Deathslinger's is really quiet with no build-up until he's literally chasing you. It's really annoying having no idea where in his 16m radius he is, or how close he is (I say he has a 16m terror radius because you'd be an idiot to not run monitor on this guy, and I haven't come across a single yeehaw man who didn't have it)
I gauge his proximity on the loudness of the screeching sound, hasn't steered me wrong.

Deathslinger has been one of my favorite killers since his release and honestly the only tweaking I think he needs is just a bit of pressure. He lacks it entirely due to his slower speed and smaller TR but makes up for it by being lethal in chases. Still, if we were to do anything to our boyo Caleb, I'd love for him to have some secondary ability.

"Seven seconds fedora man bad!"
What a bold and controversial hot take from our resident troll.

I mained Freddy back when he got the ol' nerf-zooka. I stuck by his side and suffered the faults and reveled in the wins I earned by playing optimally with what was hands down the worst killer in the game. People need to stop messing around saying he was anything other than that. No killer was gimped as hard as Freddy was when it came to hunting survivors. Seven seconds before you could hit someone... Yikes, BHVR.
Reworked Freddy though? He renewed my faith in the game and reworks. I'm sorry that this is obviously the contrarian opinion but new Freddy captures the character so well. It's his dream, you're in it, you are his. I love that concept and yes, he's hands down an A tier killer and arguably the fourth best in-game. The reason many feel he's cheap is because he has so much going for him. He's got pressure, chase potential, and a second objective wrapped into one power. That's kinda crazy. Plus, an extra chase power that can be equipped with add-ons. Freddy was the character the Devs focused on the most when reworking characters because he had so much inherently wrong with him to start, so that's why he feels like he has so much in his kit. They also made it clear that every killer/rework they want to do from that point would have a power with layers (minus Deathslinger, Jesus H. Christ give this man a secondary ability).
I love Freddy and I'm glad that he became a competent killer. He's fun to play and he's fun to play against to me. I'll never fathom the hatred for Freddy because I've seen him at his worst and now he's actually the killer I wanted two years ago. Sue me.

Oh man, I would kill for a young Bill or even just a Hawaiian shirt for him.

The biggest tip I can give is get comfortable with both sides. Play survivor if you feel you're getting rolled as killer and vice versa. Just level up one survivor to the point you feel comfortable (all the perks you need) and stick to them for a while. It seriously helps to see the other view when it comes to this game.

So where can I find 4 braindead survivors who will just stand there in a group as legion runs at them in frenzy? Or a killers who is blind/deaf?
Duration and Speed addons and then just tail the killer as they chase another survivor around a loop. Stop making these sound impossible. Not every game is gonna consist of survivors playing optimally and not every game has a 200 IQ killer.

These better not be making it into the rift when it releases. I wonder what their thought process is when designing these...
None of these are any more ridiculous than prior challenges though? Legion's power is designed to get multiple people and the way you get five hits is pretty simple: find all four survivors, hit em each once, hit the last guy you find twice. Boom challenge done. Since Dwight's challenges don't specify if he needs to be in a locker, all it's saying is just be out of a chase but be close to a killer for sixty seconds. Also not hard if you tail the killer for a match.
Stop over-exaggerating the difficulty of challenges. As long as we never get a garbage challenge like 4 gen Dark Sense, I'm pretty much fine with anything.
-
As someone very interested in the visuals of this game, I'll say that I'm willing to give at least a few.

This feels less like a major patch and more like a bundle of hotfixes. That’s how little I noticed the changes in terms of balance.
It is kinda a bundle of hotfixes, which I am glad we got as opposed to useless perk "reworks" and a new killer rework that will fade into oblivion until they rework that rework. I'm happy with the results.

Sure, some loops are unsafer. Sure, some maps are slightly smaller. Sure, some god loops are less godly. But I'm really not feeling anything all too different on these new maps. There's some new trees, some areas are differently arranged, but... yeah. Problematic buildings are still problematic, certain terrible loops like the fence loops on Thompson and the awful long debris loops on MacMillan maps are still a thing and still completely safe—it feels like new makeup. It's not NEARLY on the same level as the Badham rework or the Lery's rework; these are literally just taking an ugly face and putting the nose up a couple of centimeters.
Feeling kinda disappointed, not gonna lie.
Considering the quantity of changes here, I'm willing to support the Devs with this call over one map getting tweaked to higher quality. Over time, all maps will get facelifts but this is like a golden band-aid that will tie us over for a while.

You cannot say perk or no perk his radius is fine. The perk literally AFFECTS THE RADIUS significantly. He's ghostface with a gun with that perk. It's stupid.
Ghostface gets a free exposed on ignorant survivors, Deathslinger gets an M1 if he aims properly. There is a difference and the truth is that the scenarios where he can shoot you outside of his terror radius without you knowing is slim, unless you're a bad survivor.
-
@MPUK said:
I don't really like the individual terror radius music. I wouldn't mind individual chase music but I think you lose the surprise element when it comes to the killer with the terror radius.
When everyone had the same you could be hiding at the start of a match with a loud terror radius, but because you were hidden in an alcove or whatever you were unable to see the killer and have no idea who you were up against. Now, if it is Doctor, Demo Oni or Deathslinger I know the moment I touch their terror radius. Just disappoints me a bit.
I would much rather have unique chase music as opposed to the generic crap I've been hearing for four years at this point. It's quality of life and it makes the chases more memorable.

Well the pig noise isn't even comparable to the sound of the gun, so I don't see your point.
His terror radius combo'd with Monitor and Abuse is just kinda dumb. He can shoot you outside of his terror radius lmao.
When you bring up FNAF, a game with screaming animals that jumpscare you, how can you not see my point that the Pig ambushing you is literally a FNAF style jumpscare. Perk or no perk, his terror radius goes hand-in-hand with his low move speed. Either make him faster and up his TR or dont touch it.
-
@AsePlayer said:
The only thing that's "scary" about the Deathslinger is how small his terror radius is and how loud the gun is, allowing for some cheap fnaf jumpscare garbage.
I can't take this response seriously when the Pig, a literal loud noise jumpscare killer, exists. A gun is meant to be loud and if the Deathslinger's terror radius was any bigger, he would be so weak that Clown and Bubba might have a new friend in D tier.
