I said it years ago and I'll say it again: give Ace fingerguns. Maybe this is his time considering a certain set of info about the next tome. 👀

She's a fancy SKIN that includes a new expression and pose, not an entirely new, playable character. Take what you can get and enjoy it.

No, she was advertised as a new character without perks. What we got was a fancy skin with just a new expression and pose, we didn't get a name change/icon change and we didn't get a new voice. That's why we're upset, it's the most expensive skin ingame and its just a glorified reskin with no extra oomph.

That's your opinion, not 'the truth.'

At the very least, you can give him a week to settle a bit, give people time to find monster builds for him. Or you can make assumptions over a few games and call it a day.

Exactly, I have serious reservations about people who are willing to make such a big decision about a killer who's only been out for 6 or so hours and refuses to wait for the meta builds. Like, that's just weird, dude.

  • The devs better do something about this, this isn't a good way to sell the idea of MORE legendary skins that are just crappy reskins with none of the little details that make each character unique.

  • True, but the name doesn't change, nor does the icon, and Cheryl and Lisa share the same audio. Hopefully this all gets changed though. @Peanits

I never directly called you Fascist, your views, your responses, your attitude, your exclusion of everyone but the only people who agree with you is what being a Fascist is about.

You can think what you want, I'm just pointing out the obvious here.

But "with us or against us" attitude, or the "people who agree with me only" personality isn't healthy.

    Keep living in your bubble.

I bet people like you and Joe Schmoe over there are the same people who complain about Black History Month because there isn't a white history month. But, yeah, beat around the bush and imply whatever you want to imply about me, bucko. I'm still adamant about my initial point that if you have absolutely degenerate views that are ripped straight from an era of hate, I don't want you agreeing with me in any capacity because it's 2020 and you honest to god need to put on your big-boy shoes and grow the hell up. I'll keep living in my bubble because it's clear to me you'll keep living in yours as well.

So basically "I don't want to hear anyone else's opinions that don't agree with mine."

People like you are what preach inclusion, preach diversity, but when someone else doesn't agree with you, you shun them out. It's called Fascism. The "with me or against me," is what Fascism is all about.

    Very "inclusive" of you.

Lmfao, I'm sorry? Was my response to someone else's bigotry the straw that broke the camels back for you? We shouldn't need to ARGUE the validity of a certain group of people that have been oppressed for centuries due to an unjust system. But sure, call me a fascist because I don't want someone agreeing with my comment because they hold hateful views. Got a genuine chuckle outta your BS, not gonna lie.

But yeah this feels like pandering and soon we probably get "legendary lgbtq" skins that cost 20 usd or more.

Please don't agree with me if you have that attitude about Pride Month, I don't want people with absolute trash opinions to associate with any of my takes.

No hill, just pointing out that sexuality isn't just heterosexuality/homosexuality.

Not every character is bisexual and that's A-OK.

Thing is, not a single piece of lore confirmed a (non-licensed) character's sexual orientation. Not one.

Ace is a womanizer, Sally had a husband, Frank and Julie are in a relationship, David had an ex-girlfriend, etc, etc. Orion, this is not a hill I recommend you die on.

  • It's June, y'all, yknow, Pride Month? I'm not surprised they're doing this because they've made it clear in the past that certain characters are a part of the LGBT+ community, all I'm saying is if they pull it off correctly, ie: not retconning previous lore and making it an added attribute and not their sole personality trait, I see no reason to complain.

  • Hopefully we get Harry and James as legendary skins. I mean, we got Lisa, we should get the depressed dad and suicidal wife "hunter".

nice troll attempt. Pick and choose points to argue and then just say "youre funny" when up to one that you cant argue. Ill give you my points lil guy while picking apart yours.

yes anyone can have hundreds of iri heads, but bloodpoints spent do not equate to skill. just bc you spent bloodpoints on a character doesnt mean that person will be very very good, haha are you kidding me? nigh unbeatable? a good huntress will struggle on 80 percent of the maps in this game. mainly because this game isnt designed in favor of low mobility killers that take percision into account while also checking horrendous hitboxes on objects. Also maps with near to no line of sight such as the indoor maps.

yes hillbillys chainsaw is more powerful, a noob can see that. 1 you can instadown with no add ons, 2 you can break pallets with the saw, 3 you get one of the best if not the best movement speeds in the game 3 he can run around the map without worrying about reloading, yet survivors never complain about getting one shot by a chainsaw. IRI head is fine. theyll still change it though because survivors always get their way.

I said it before and I'll say it again, damn, you're really funny! Nice job with the mental gymnastics to say I was trolling when it's pretty clear that everything I said was accurate to the way the game is actually played at high ranks. Bloodpoints don't equal skill? Yeah, obviously not, so why say that anyone can have hundreds but then in your earlier post say that it's an expensive addon that needs another another expensive addon to work properly? Like, okay, and? You just contradicted yourself by lowering the supposed value of the addons by agreeing with me, you see how that makes you look?

Also, I take it you're unfamiliar with Huntress players like Umbra and other top tier Huntress players. These players have painstakingly memorized every single map and can basically envision a target on a survivor's back 24/7. They know when to throw, how to throw, and what they can and can't throw over. A top tier Billy can still be looped to hell and back by a good survivor and the chainsaw is only a threat when a survivor is truly out positioned. A good Huntress with the infantry belt and the Iri Heads, however, doesn't need to wait til you're out positioned, she just waits until you walk into one of the many spots in the game where you can squeeze a hatchet through a fence post or a gap in the loop and just like that, the survivor is downed with no counter play whatsoever. Don't forget cross-map hatchet bombs that seasoned Huntress players are known for pulling off. Wow, getting downed in one shot across the map with zero counter play! So fun!

As someone who's been playing since the launch of this game and has over 2K hours clocked in with a slant towards killer but with a healthy heaping of survivor mixed in, it's clear to me that you don't play survivor near as much as you should to make a valued opinion on a broken combination of addons. But that's okay! We all start somewhere and maybe one day you'll see what I'm talking about and regret any ignorance on your behalf later down the line.

  • When she kept kidnapping little girls from families she murders just so she can chain them up, pretend to take care of them, and then rinse and repeat when they die due to illness, starvation, or the harsh Russian cold, any possibility of saying she was just bad at taking care of them went out the window. She's sick in the head and relishes in the suffering of others because she feels she's superior to them, yet still makes the heartless mistake of letting multiple kids die under her care because she refuses to figure out what she's doing wrong.

  • @TransverseCaster said:

I couldn't imagine Huntress getting on with Freddy. She likes kids and he's not so good with them.

Well, considering what Huntress does to little girls, I could see them having a really sick and twisted rivalry. She's nearly as bad as he is.

  • @OutcastEric said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1342166#Comment_1342166

iri head huntress isnt even that strong. 1 they have to actually hit the shot. 2 you only get to carry 1 hatchet when running that add on. and if you want more you have to run another expensive add on. 3 hillbillys chainsaw is stronger

The rarity of iri head is a moot point since anyone can get dozens, if not hundreds, of the best addons just be dumping endless amounts of BP in a character. At that point, you should also be very, very, VERY good at the character and in the case of Huntress, nigh unbeatable with god tier aim and iri heads. See how this is a problem? The devs need to make it so you can only have one hatchet and it can't be increased in any other way. That is the only way I can see it being fair. Also, Billy's chainsaw is stronger than a competent huntress with iridescent hatchets? You're funny.

You know you could just make the creeper without the pedophile senses. Really, people hate this one idea due to the characters inappropriate stand points. How bout’ we just make a monster that is like the creeper but not so pedo like. Like, I worked hard on this idea and all I get are stupid comments about how much of a pedo the monster and director were! DID I SAY IN THE IDEA THAT HE WAS GONNA ACT LIKE A PEDO?? NO! SO MAYBE YOU SHOULD KEEP AN OPEN MIND! SMH.

    But, back to OP...

Listen, just like other people have said, this is a good idea but it won't happen in any licensed form (which is the only way this exact idea is getting implemented due to legality) because BHVR has made it clear they do not want to support a child abuser/pedophile. We know that the creator is different from the creature but you can't have the creature without the creator, that's the issue. Sorry.

  • @Necromancer_Yoda said:

They don't interact with one another. One of the devs was asked if they meet in between trials and they stated the killers were all alone.

But they also contradicted themselves by saying that sometimes when passing through realms, they see each other and sorta acknowledge their existence. NGL, this whole section of DBD lore is super janky and really need a clear, 100% answer.

  • I used to run it when Steve came out since I loved the perk icon but I quickly dropped considering it's nearly on the same level as usefulness as No Mither. It sucks and I hope they buff it or rework into viability some day.

I don't get why people want James. Really, Cheryl is a much more likable character in terms of being the protagonist. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that just because James is a bad person, I don't find his general personality suitable for this game and, in my opinion, it's not as appealing, not as charismatic. It doesn't mean that he's not an interesting character, but do you consider a man who is broken from the inside, depressed and rather suicidal (he tried turning his car into a subMARYne in one of the endings) to be a character in Dead by Daylight? To be honest, he'd probably become some kind of a killer filled with remorse. Other survivors share at least a strong will to live, I wouldn't say that James would have one after being trapped in the Entity's real. C'mon, the man couldn't handle his wife being ill... And imagine the mental damage he'd get after appearing in the fog. It wouldn't be the tasty feeling of despair, it'd just drive him insane completely.

That's why I'm HIGHLY confused about Lisa. What kind of potential the Entity sees in her? The girl C O L L A P S E D after realizing everything that happened to her, to the town. Both "physically" and mentally.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WG5fpimNIYI

There would me no way the Entity would assume her as a good participant in the killing games. I can only assume that she DID had enough power to resist, to sustain purposeful existence EVEN after getting revenge in the Silent Hill good endings.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=led7_hOjcMg

I just don't get it, her existence isn't fueled by revenge at this point, WHAT CAN IT BE? If Konami isn't planning to reveal some parts of characters' lore in the game, maybe Archives, I'll legitimately become really mad at this. Pyramid Head causes the same about of questions, so Silent Hill Archive book would be so on spot.

Dude, IDK, I'm not the devs. She's in the game on purpose, that's all we know, and every survivor in the game has potential. I still want James because he's my and many SH fans favorite protag, regardless of his suicidal nature.

  • The Entity saw potential, that's all. It's a depraved being, it doesn't care. I'm hoping we get James and maybe Henry/Eileen as well to really round out the Legendary skins.

  • Agreed, I hate that in every piece of media for the new chapter, they say it applies Obliviousness but its quickly amended somewhere that it applies broken. Like, why? It's better with the "mistake".

  • Let's see how the redesigned maps and this new early game mechanic goes, then we'll decide if gens need adjustment.

  • 6413c8385fd37d3895fcacc6bcb587d8.jpg

I'm a simple man, I see a requested content thread, I post Jacket from Hotline Miami. C'mon BHVR, you know you like hurting other people...

  • If BHVR is gonna do cross progression, I'm holding out faith that they'll do it right, meaning all progress (ie: skins, cells, shards, DLCs, etc) is unique to an account that can be accessed across multiple platforms. If we get a neutered version of this, it'll be a massive disappointment.

  • @PigNRun said:

Leaving aside all the issues with the movies/Homecoming, that model of Pyramid Head is massive. Too tall and oddly shaped to adapt to the standard Killer model in DbD. My guess is technical limitations, even if they wanted to include that Pyramid Head.

We'll most likely get it as a skin, it's the only other look Pyramid Head ever had aside from slight differences in the knife, robe, details on the pointier pyramid mask that all PH appearances post SH2 have.

Farming isn't bad, and it decreases a grind for a very grind-y game. Nobody is ever banned for BP farming and nobody ever reports each other for BP farming either since everyone has something to gain from it, everyone gets bloodpoints. Although "griefing farming" where you're working with the killer and purposefully farming your teammates is a bannable offense.

The devs and mods should also probably know that if they don't want people farming, maybe don't make the game a huge slog and grind to P3 / all T3 perks. It's even worse for new players who have to cross the hill of dealing with the sheer amount of content that now exists in the game. Which not only presents a decently steep learning curve, which is intensified only by the fact you've got an intense grind ahead of you which no amount of skill or knowledge can do to change.

I can't imagine joining DBD in 2020 with some 19 killers and 22 survivors and without spending any money, grind for base perks, eventually prestiging, along the way getting iridescent shards to get new characters, just to grind for new teachables, to later unlock on your main so that means investing more BP again. Repeating 3 times to prestige and on top of that still going through hours and hours to unlock other individual characters with shards, and doing this for BOTH sides on a main for survivor and killer if you really want a balanced experience for DBD.

I love Dead By Daylight, but had I not joined when I did in 2016, I may not have stuck around for as long as I did.

No amount of being "Frowned upon" excuses this immense and widespread problem that plagues even veterans who have unlocked most content by now and are just working toward decking out new or old characters that aren't their mains.

So long as farming only earns you a glare and a frown from the devs or community members who think it's boring, the benefits FAR outweigh the downsides and people will continue to do it as long as this intense grind exists. We wouldn't do it if there wasn't a reason to, end of story.

In the current state of the game, I would encourage everyone to play the game normally as often as possible, but when a farming match makes your way by circumstance: take it up, let it happen, don't fight it and don't look a gift horse in the mouth. Especially if Bloody Party Streamers and other BP bonus offerings are at play, take your bloodpoints and enjoy them.

I couldn't agree more. I've tried to get multiple friends into DBD and they like the prospect but its just the initial "Okay, you gotta play for hours when you have zero idea how to win, then dump points into a character you might not even like, get the teachable perk you NEED to win, then dump points back INTO the character you actually wanna play, rinse and repeat, over and over and over" that makes them shudder. I swear, the day the devs remove perk levels is the day I will actively advertise this game to my friends, until then, it's my obsession and mine alone.

  • @Rydog said:

I'll bet you they tried that, and couldn't get it to look right. Your weapon's position is also handy for judging distance, and doing this would screw with that.

This would be a valid excuse from the team but we have Legion AND GhostFace who both raise their knifes up like Myers does in 3rd person but its visible to the killer as well. I'm surprised they haven't changed it yet.

  • Because that makes a ton of sense and we can't have that!

Joking aside, with the amount of perks ingame at this point, we need ANOTHER Bloodweb tweak or an entire perk rework that removes perk levels.

Maybe once you get a perk you can directly put points into it, letting you upgrade it to level three in one sitting if you have enough BP, thus reducing the grind and making you actually get what you want from the leveling system quicker. Hire me, BHVR. ;)

  • Absolutely stellar list, the only inclusion I'd personally add is Adam to the Tapp legendary cosmetics. Poor guy got stiffed...

Quentin Smith - A Nightmare On Elm Street

I need a Hotline Miami paragraph for this game. It would seriously be so good... The series is gruesome, psychotic, twisted, and Jacket is a perfect candidate for a brain washed killer to be added to the game, so honestly now it's just a matter of time for BHVR. ;)

So from what I heard a while back on one of the dev streams the mori is something that the entity gives to the killer like a gift of sorts, so why can pyramid head straight up execute a survivor without needing the mori ? Wouldn't he need the entitys permission to do so? I'm not sure if there's a definitive lore explanation to this yet or not, just something that popped in my head.

The power of Silent Hill is truly an immense and devastating power. I guarantee you if the Entity tried to exert any more control over Pyramid Head than it already is, something would go very, very wrong. It's not that the Entity fears Pyramid Head, it's that it most likely has some form of respect for him and sees him not as a slave for murder, but as a business associate.

Compare the Jar Head Nurse skin to her other skins. I wonder which skin is more unique 🤡

I'm not gonna keep going, at this point you're just being defensive and ignorant. Oh yeah, the mask and jacket are unique? You mean the two main features of the outfit? Well doesn't that make at least 75% of what the outfit is unique? I can't stand people like you. Grow up. 🤡

Thanks for providing an easy comparison. And yes, both skins look similar. Same type of clothing and everything.

People like this skin because it's just like his other skin but better lol.

Maybe I'm being unreasonable, but I would have chosen a skin with a totally unique concept. Something completely different than what is already in the game. Perhaps a safari hunter Deathslinger skin or wooden clock Wraith skin. Someone even submitted a Jar Head Nurse cosmetic. Those are unique skins!

I literally pointed out how both skins are different from each other in great detail but, I mean, I guess you can't make the blind see. Maybe you'll get the skin you want next year, bud. 🤡

Wrong. Other people have expressed displeasure over this event.

It doesn't take a genius to recognize the similarity in appearance between two skins.

Other people who are in the minority. If you look at the submission page, it has over 9 pages of glowing accolades. The skin is immensely unique and just because it shares a slightly similar color scheme to this:

    image.png

Makes it no way the same as this:

    image.png

Literally, the only physical detail that the two cosmetics distinctly share is the choice of handle on the knife, which is a karambit. The mask is literally animated as opposed to a cloth bandana type mask, the characters are different (Joey in High-Vis, Frank in NSS), the skin has a backpack full of unique weapons, Frank has a leather jacket and tons of knick-knacks as opposed to Joey's neon-windbreaker. I could even go to the finer details like the printing and weathering of the hood, the use of police tape, the chains, even the SHOES.

C'mon, now. You're just looking silly at this point. Just say you saw the black and teal color scheme of the two cosmetics and went "Oh, they're the same thing, how unoriginal!" without further comparison. They're not similar, stop preaching that they are.

  • @Mister_Holdout said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1309822#Comment_1309822

You can think what you want. Myself and others have agreed that the Legion skin is unoriginal.

While I can respect the amount of work the artist put in creating the skin, it doesn't change my belief that the skin is a knock off.

I would have preferred the devs pick a skin that is totally unique from what we got right now. The Jar Head Nurse cosmetic or Safari Hunter Deathslinger cosmetic were both way better skins. There were several other skins that looked a lot better as well.

Damn, it's almost like... That's your opinion. And it seems to be a hugely unpopular one. How unfortunate...

That's absolutely not the case. Do you see how much detail is in NSS? They'll have to animate the mask, create a backpack full of weapons, I mean, that weapon alone is one of the most detailed weapons we've seen ingame. Just because the survivor skin is simple doesn't mean that they're copping out.

  • Yeah, no, as someone who plays all four of the killers released in the last year religiously, your statement is dead wrong. Ghostface is good, if not broken, Demo is far more competent that most give him credit for, Oni is a better Hillbilly if you get your momentum early, and Deathslinger is just fun as hell and a beast in 1v1s. Nurse tier? Nah, definitely not. Useful and viable at red ranks? Absolutely. Stop being a doomer.
