Stbfl pre 6.1 and Stbfl post 6.1 is almost the same.
It's a difference in milliseconds that is not noticeable in normal gameplay. It is however noticeable in camping situations.
This is where the perk should be nerfed.
I would even suggest, that it either loses stacks for hitting any survivor that attempts to go for an unhook or downright deactivates around hooks. That's a strong but fair nerf without hurting the VERY IMPORTANT chasing potential of the perk.
Not only camping. This perk is also strong tunnelling tool too.
-
I don't know about you but most of killers we got last 2 years was amazing.
Trickster and Twins are garbage killers, boring play-styles.
Nemesis is amazing, he just needs some better add-ons.
Artist is strong but boring? Not my style but i can see why someone likes her.
Pinhead boring to go against, especially for solo survivors. But his design is not bad. He is fine.
Sadako and Dredge are very fun teleport / stealth type killers. They are not maybe so strong but they are fine. Not all killers need to be on Blight's level.
Wesker - Even you agree'd he is good killer lol.
SM & Knight - Mistakes. They should never happen again.
Singularity - Best M1 killer in game. That's tell good enough about him. Also only people who is bad with his power thinking he is not getting value. When you master him, he is real monster.
Xeno - This killer is not lose / lose for survivors. Use turrets smarter and he is fine. Xeno is amazing killer we got.
Chucky - Shorter Wesker. He is fine. His cooldown is long but it's not the only power he got. His pov and size also good powers. He is best mind-game killer in game. And he has fairly strong anti-loop as well.
-
I only use Plaything because it's good perk. It gives second objective to survivors. Sure they can ignore it but then i am getting surprise hits.
Time to time, i am using Devour but it's cleansing before even i get some stacks.
So overall, hex perks are bad.

The question asked to the team in the AMA was specifically regarding "bridging the gap" between SWF and solo players by adding more information about their allies, and the Design Lead answered:
"We always monitor the difference between survivor groups (SWF and solo) and our current stance is that lack of information is not the crux of the problem, but rather that friends work together by nature and solo survivors don't (as much). -Mike"
This is not a dismissal, but rather a clarification that what is being monitored and that more information is not necessarily what will improve the solo queue experience. Unfortunately, there is only so much the developers can do from their side to encourage players to play a certain way. Players were given tools within the UI with the status icons to have more information, but we cannot make players use this information to improve the choices they make.
Not really.
UI was good start but that's all we got.
We still don't know what perks our teammates have. So this could help for some play styles.
When killer forces your teammate to leave gen, you don't know what gen they were working on it. Unless you bring perk for it. But guess what? SWF teams can share this info for free with each other.
I am not even talking about terrible matchmaking. Like game is sure i am good enough to handle 12k Hours Blight player and giving me +500 hours teammates. It makes so much sense indeed.
You guys are almost giving nothing to solo players but then believing it's player's fault when they are not effective as SWF teams. I just disagree with your Design Leader, i really hope he and team takes this feedback. Because looks like most of people just disliked his answer.

She is strong killer but nothing op about her.
But she is boring , so even she is top tier killer i am not going to play her.

The difference is 0.18 seconds of the killer moving at 2.7 m/s. Meaning it's only a difference of 0.486 m in what distance a survivor makes after a hit. So the time it takes for the killer to cover that extra ground is less than 1 second. But because you will already be in a loop, that 1 second is negligible.
You still get to the next loop and have to play around it. This is the effect STBFL had before 6.1.0 and it's the effect that STBFL has now.
I'm not against this nerf. It would make no difference whatsoever. But I don't like the idea of nerfing weaker killers in any way.
This 1 second was reason to nerf MfT tho? 1 second can make so much difference. Survivor can make it to pallet or vault.
-
Not really. Main building is getting 2 god-pallets but that's all. Survivors can't loop those pallets, they are drop and run type pallets. And once they gone, there is nothing left for main. And this main has no good vault, which makes sense to have 2 good pallets.
Rest of map is pretty much playable.
Garden of Joy, Haddonfield are worse maps.

Disagree.
On killers like Wesker, other perks are by far more optimal.
The BEST user of Stbfl is pig (for a ton of reasons, I will not go into right now). How dare the op pig use her almighty ambush to save her BUILT UP Stbfl stacks.
The other 2 best users are Demo and Trapper. Literally what is the issue if these killers save their stacks?
The perk has to be build up. It's not at 8 stacks at the start of the trial. All 3 of these killers need the extra push in chase.
Why do we want to destroy a perk that helps out the weaker chasers and doesn't help the stronger ones??? (Spirit excluded. Although she also can't save her stacks)
Demo is good chaser. So no i disagree with you here.
Nemmy, Xeno and Wesker are also insane chasers but yet, they are abusing this perk.
Pig and Trapper needs help, that's true. But this help should not come by perk. They should buff their base-kits. This perk is maybe not problem on Pig and Trapper but it's definetely cheating on other m2 killers.
-
I mean, that's his power? So you just wanna remove his power without giving him anything?

I just want to clarify, that 2 stacks less literally changes nothing in normal gameplay. The outcome will be the same.
Would I be against it? No. DO IT! Again, it would change almost nothing.
The real problem with Stbfl isn't it's chasing potential. Why would we try to nerf killers that need help?
It's camping. Stbfl-camping should be nerfed.
Nah, i disagree. STBFL was already insanely good perk. But after 2 stacks added to killer basekit, now it feels overtuned. They need to bring it to old version.

They shouldn't get a game or even deserve to get a game. It's a 4 man on comms with all broken perks and second chances in a 4 man trying to stack everything in their favor at the killers expense. Killer stands no chance against these teams unless they throw. There are a certain percentage of these teams who go in to make the killers life miserable and as far as I'm concerned those teams can take a jump. They ruin the game for everyone. They ruin it for solos and they ruin it for killers. It's OP as hell and no one wants to admit it.
They don't deserve get a game? Lmao.

They do though? As someone who plays a good amount of Xeno I can confirm plenty of survivors give up against me so this is just wrong.
They don't. Not in my games at least.
I am playing Chucky from day one to today, he is my new main. And almost nobody is giving up against him. I don't play Xeno so much but i am seeing good enough in my survivor games. And nobody is giving against him as well.
But SM? Whenever i see her, i know it's just game over.

Ye ye , why survivors are not giving up against Chucky and Xeno? Both killers are much stronger than SM. But yet, survivors are playing against those two.
Toxic baby survivahs are not learning, SM is just fine. Sure

If you can't "punish people for playing with friends", why are SWFs allowed to punish Killers with an unfair advantage?
They don't punish killer? They just played better than killer. You already defeated countless SWFs without even noticing. You just remember bad memories because that's human thing.
And just side note: I called SWF so many times by killers but i was just solo survivor. SWF is just excuse for loses at this point. You would lose those matches even if they were solo because simply they were just better players than you.
-
@Zaydin said:

You know, I always see that said in response to making SWFs opt-in: That no Killer would go against them. Almost like they aren't fun to play against.
Perhaps make it so that the opt out only applies to a full four man SWF.
As I said: When a match is going fairly evenly with the survivors getting gens done and I'm getting downs/hooks, things can be a blast. It's those lopsided matches that stress me out that are at issue.
And limiting it with 4-man SWF is still creating problem? Almost all killers will use this option and they will not go against 4-man SWF. So those SWF teams will not get any match.
You are just banning people from game without actually banning them. Your solution makes zero sense and by business-wise, this never going to happen. There is no company will do thing like that.
-
Sorry to hear that.
But they will never nerf SWFs because it makes zero sense to punish people for playing with friends. Not all SWF teams are that good and only 5% of playerbase at high mmr.
And your suggestion will also never happen because no killer player will go against SWF teams and this will kill matchmaking for both sides. Solo survivors will get fast matches. SWF teams will never get match. And killers will get insanely long queues because they removed all SWF teams from matchmaking.
So this is not going to happen.
And you should not play a game if it is affects you that much with bad way. Breaks will help you, you can play different games.

It was probably the #1 most requested thing I saw on here. There wasn't a thread about it but it was in a lot of posts.
Because the DBD has SM Derangement Syndrome? People decided they hated her from the moment they thought she was a robot from the teasers and wasn't (which we got next chapter but it turns out the community didn't actually want that either).
That's just wrong lol.
People hated old Legion too and he had dc almost all time. And after BHVR fixed him, people stopped dc. People are still dc'ing against SM because simply BHVR did not fix her problems. She is still bad design.
-
@Chocolate_Cosmos said:
No, you should learn about her new power more. Old Merchant was 200% more better at it.

I am always amazed what people think is "brainded easy". To me "braindead easy" would literally mean that you could just turn your brain off and go by autopilot and easy cues ... like those WOO players that beeline to the next yellow highlight, predrop, beeline to the next, rinse, repeat. Thats braindead gameplay, because its utterly uninteractive, unskillful and it even relegates the killers role to a robotic one, where they can just break one pallet after the next with basically no chance to do anything meaningful in chase and the only option is either to break chase or to continue breaking pallet and racing to the next one like an automaton.
Trickster on the other hand has to make a whole lot of decisions and do mechanically well. His power is not "click here and win", his knives don't automatically hit survivors, nor do small loops automatically "play themselves". He might get comparable "cheap hits" at otherwise safe pallets or loops, but thats just his power. The player behind still has to aim and still has to do something to earn a down. I never really understood where the "braindead" part came into play.
And at high level Trickster play there are all this trickshots through smol gaps in shack or three windows and a door to the other side of the saloon. Really, watch some of that trickshot compilations and talk about braindead.
Like you said, it's to you. Not to me.

BHVR really need to stop make all costumes fits with characters. That's why some characters are keep getting terrible costumes. And that's why Feng, Meg, Kate are usually getting best costumes because they are fitting usually most of themes.
Giving freedom to artists would end with better costumes.

To be fair, CoH and medkits were incredibly busted.
I disagree but fair. They nerfed anyway. But then why we are complaining now when survivors are not healing and doing their main objective.
@Xernoton said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3612330#Comment_3612330
You mean the medkits that allowed survivors to heal themselves in less than 10 seconds multiple times per match and CoH, that allowed for infinite and fast self-heals? I wonder why killers weren't happy with these. Maybe it was because health states should matter somehow. But when survivors can heal themselves so quick, there is no way to create pressure other than by hooking, which again makes it way harder for the killer to get survivors off gens and slow the game.
Now medkits are useless compared to what else survivors can bring into the match even though they are still decent. Healing yourself in a timely manner is always strong. It's just that both sides have things so much stronger than the rest, that everything else looks terribly weak in comparison.
Same question for you as well. Killers were not happy with medkits & CoH. And now both nerfed to ground. Now why it's problem when survivors are not healing and doing their objective
-
@Devil_hit11 said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3612330#Comment_3612330
killers wanted Med-kits and COH nerfs because everyone being healed meant that weaker killer have to hit survivors 2 times instead of once.
what killers have asked for is their chases to be meaningful when they hook survivors. what killers got was nerf to pain res, nerf to dms, nerf to eruption and nerfs to pop goes weasel. So instead of their chasing meaningfully slowing the game down for killer if they play well by hooking people, their chases mean less because they get poor game-delay from said hooks. The more hooks they go for, the faster they lose.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3612524#Comment_3612524
If everyone runs Deja vu which is 6% repair increase, you can get 84 seconds gens which is similar to 80 second gens especially if you account for 1-2 great skill-check to further reduce this to like 82 seconds. You get free BT so it is not like your losing a perk slot for what you were running before. You can now just use old perks of Dead hard, Decisive strike, Adrenaline, WoO from 5 years ago.
I also don't think med-kit nerfs are that big of a change purely because running a red syringe+med-kit is still 2 heals and running a combination of med-kit+gel dressing with skill-check add-on is 2 heals or running 2 charge add-on is 2 heals. 24 second healing is old-self care which is a perk that 99% of survivor ran in dbd 2017. Even if your not using add-on, a single free-heal from a med-kit is sometimes enough in some games.
The only nerf to med-kits is sloppy butcher and they're gutted mangled in few months anyway so soon med-kit change will be almost meaningless.
And now killers are getting value from their hits because survivors are not healing which means all survivors are one hit down. But killers are still not happy. I don't know what will make them happy.

How was nerfing med kits/chase perks a bad thing for Killers in regards to genspeed? Medkits now waste more time, thous survivors are longer away from gens, "nerfed" chase perks mean chases are faster and the Killer can defend gens... I genuenly dont understand your reasoning here
That's the point.
Survivor is blessing totem = They are not on gen.
Survivor is running blessed area and healing = They are not on gen.
Same goes for medkits. Survivor is healing = They are not on gen.
All of those free slowdown for killers. Because when survivor is wasting time with those side objectives, killer is chasing someone and some pallets are removing from game which means next chases will be faster.
But now, survivors are not using boon perks and they are doing gens even if they are injured. So gens are flying.
Devs can make gens 100 seconds and they will still fly. We need natural slowdown, another objective for survivors. That's the slowdown will make game healthier.
And nerfing chase perks = survivors are gonna use more gen speed perks = gens are even faster.
-
@Tsulan said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3612327#Comment_3612327
Actually, killers have been complaining about gen speeds for years. Yet every time the devs went on and nerfed healing instead.
Let's be real. Killers wanted nerfs for medkits and CoH but both of them made survivors leave gens which was free slowdown for killers.
But yeah, devs are doing some terrible decisions. They need to make side objectives worthful for survivors, if survivors have no reason to leave gens ofcourse games will be so fast.
-
Killers wanted this meta. They wanted every side objective survivors have to be nerfed: CoH, medkits, chase perks etc.
Now survivors have no reason to leave gens.

Gens are flying because survivors have not any objective only gens.
Hex perks are garbage, killers are not using. No need to cleanse dull totems.
Boon perks are garbage, survivors are not using. No time wasting with blessing totems.
Searching chests is waste of time because mostly you will get garbage brown items.
Survivors are usually not healing because focusing on gens is more effective strat atm.
No surprise gens are even faster now. Thanks to BHVR for this boring new meta.

The "SB is actually way stronger then DH and you will curse the day it got nerfed!!!1"-apocalypse has been teasered so often by now, that I can't wait to see it; it must be some hellscape to percieve and I don't know if I am ready for it, but bring it on!
WoO is complained a lot about, thats right, but not because it is too strong on itself, but because it leads to extremely boring and uninteractive gameplay: "beeline to the next yellow blob on screen, pre-drop it, beeline to the next yellow blob on screen, rinse, repeat", while the killer player can only run after said survivor and break pallet after pallet like an automaton or break chase. Not every WoO user plays like this, but those that do reduce to game to a flow chart with no interaction by humans needed, and this braindead playstyle is really exhausting.
Most of us killer players realise pretty well that WoO isn't OP or too strong or even overtuned, but this beeline-predrop playstyle is just the bottom of the barrel play styles. People are suggesting a cooldown after you drop a pallet, so that you can't just turn of your brain completely; it wouldn't prevent anyone from remembering that a pallet was left in that corner over there, but at least they couldn't just go by visials alone; who knows, a CD might actually force newbies to actively remember where pallets are left and develop some gamesense, instead of just follow the bread crumbs? And experienced survivors don't use the perk like this, they just want the info about whats going on around them and which parts of the map have been turned into a dead zone. BUT I understand that this is a touchy subject, especially in the current meta and with both sides feeling that they are targeted by BHVR with the banhammer regularly, so I won't support the "nerf WoO"-movement and wouldn't mind if WoO never changed.
Distortion, likewise, isn't problematic in a big sense, but its rising popularity is mostly punishing those players that it shouldn't target: the killers with a single info/aura reading perk. A killer with 3 aura reading perks and one or two aura reading add-ons can burn through the full stack of Distortion with just flexing once, but a killer who might run BBQ or Nowhere to Hide as part of a balanced loadout will be playing with only 3 perks, as that one aura reading perk will be absolutely gutted by Distortion. Add to this that Distortion never pauses regeneration, even in chase, something thats absolutely unique about all the other perks that regenerate while inside the killers terror radius, and you got a very torn and scicophrenic perk that fights and punishes the wrong demographic.
So this is all more nuanced then just "OMG I couldn't 4K two matches in a row, please nerf WoO and Distortion ASAP!!!!11". BUT I also think that nerfing and nerfing and nerfing your favorite toys one after the other is the wrong way to tackle stuff. I still think that BHVR should adopt the LOL moba formula: take the 5 most played options for both sides and nerf them numerically, likewise buff the 5 least played options and rinse and repeat every month, while making the newly buffed or nerfed perks immune to changes in the next month. This way you would have a living and evolving meta with players constantly trying out new perks, losing old favorites, while discovering new ones that just became viable.
This would work if we have had anti-tunnelling and anti-gen base-kits in DbD.
Some perks are needed and when you nerf them, it just brings unhealthy gameplay.
Nerfing DS was mistake and tunnelling was never that strong. And OTR is not that helpful like how DS did.
Nerfing Pop was also mistake, thankfully they buffed it again. It's still not good as before but it's viable at least.
Some meta perks are here for reasons. They are fixing game issues because devs are just ignoring to do anything about them. Unless we get very healthy game mechanics for both sides, i prefer no nerfs for non perks unless they are busted like Dead Hard, MfT and UW.
