Yeah BT is pointless perk atm. I wish they just rework it, base-kit BT is already doing this perk's job.

For me, it depends.
It depends, whoever wants to win more.
If you want to win as Killer, you pick Nurse with good addons. Or to have it even easier: c33 Blight.
If you want to win as survivor, you get 3 really good friends or players in general, slap on 4 good perks, a med kit witha syringe or something similar and a nice map offering for garden of joy.
You don't need Nurse to win. You don't need Blight with busted add-ons to win either.
I am really questioning myself sometimes if i am playing same game as others. Because i am winning games as even weak killers like Nemmy and Clown. Sure, time to time i am facing with very challange teams but most of times teams are just not that good. And it ends with so much wins.
Any killer who has good chase + anti-gen perks can win most of matches.

For those who are wondering why this happened. The only time the killer community actually quit the game. Saying no to game balance in 2020. The exodus was so large-scale that the lobby of killers turned into this, and the lobby of survivors into an eternal search.
A very logical question then arose in the community: why low-ranking killers had to play against high-ranking survivors. The old ranking system simply broke down when Killers grew tired of the balance of the time.

https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/Y5LZ6JS4TZOR/281-29.jpg
They could fix this very easily.
Lock ranks. Brown to green can match only with each other. Purple to red with each other. Now except few days after rank reset, you have pretty much good matchmaking.
And also for fixing lobby dodge, just lock it too. If you joined lobby, you will stay until match ends. And you also can hide survivors and show only their portraits, that also could fix it.
But no, instead of improving old system they replaced it with worse.

Depends...
Hatch exists and good teams do as well.
Yeah, i just slug whenever i need adept. I don't like this but this is the only way to secure 4 kills when you need it.
And for your other message, i said " to me ". I am good killer and i am winning quiet often as killer. But as survivor, terrible matches after terrible matches. So it's hard to believe whenever someone says survivor is easier, it's not. Not for me.

With certain 3 perks. Considering that perks affect killer more than to the survivors, and there are many cases that there own perks do not fit the killer well, I think Survivor adepts are more easier. In my experience, survivor adepts were a lot easier than killer's.
Not for me.
Killer is easier. It takes me first or second try to get killer adepts. Survivor adept can take longer since it depends on your teammates. And killer just can tunnel you out.
-
MMR is not even working. It's terrible bad system.
I am feeling like it designed to make you feel good after some loses because my exp with it:
I am winning some matches and then i am getting some very good killers with very sweaty builds. I am fine with that but my teammates are not on this level.
And then i am losing some matches, my mmr is going down. And damn, i am getting some bad killers with insane teammates. Killers are hardly getting 2 - 3 hooks.
MMR was mistake and it's not late to remove it.

Happy New Year. Albeit I only have a couple of months left to live due to aggressive lung tumor that has been spread around my back and different parts of my organs, I hope everyone else is doing better in life than I am.
It's really so sad to hear... I am wishing best for you mate :(
-
It's 90% of time on survivor.
It's understandable. Solo-q is miserable and BHVR does not care. They just blamed players instead of fixing issues. Nobody want to play this role.
-
BHVR is keep nerfing her for balance but she will never be balanced. It's her design. It's problem. This killer is just cheating, ignoring everything in game. I don't know why BHVR is refusing to rework.
They are so worried to buff Trapper to not make him problematic against low mmr survivors but yet, we have Nurse in game for 7 years.
-
I am sorry for this happening to you.
Yeah, we have pretty garbage matchmaking and it's one of the biggest issues we have atm.
-
- No. Singularity is very strong killer and when you master him, survivors are outing of EMPs pretty fast.
- Yes, this is kinda annoying.
- No. Same reason of number 1 and it's not hard to reset cameras.
- Yes, he deserves some QoL changes and that's one of them.
- Soma add-on should be base-kit and this will fix issue here. There is reason why this add-on is used so much.
- I don't know if this is necessary.
Rework Idea 1: No. EMPs are just fine as they are, no change needed.
Rework Idea 2: Hell no, Singularity does not need any help from AI.
-
I started use Resilience again because without it, vaults are guaranteed hits. Especially when killer have garbage ping.

They can't fix everything, like this for example. I just don't understand why someone would give up at 5 gens.

claire should've been a character, She was a main protagonist in 3 games. Sheva should've been a character, she was a main playable character in 1 game. Ashley is a side character, plot device, she should not be more than a skin. Ashley is exactly what the legendary skins should be used for.
As a massive Resident Evil fan, it really is kind of stupid that Rebecca got a character slot over Claire.
but lets be honest, playing resident evil characters not named ada is bad. Ada is the only one who can't be heard moaning across the map. Leon, Claire, Jill, Rebecca are all so damn loud you're playing at a disadvantage playing them.
Nobody was expecting another RE chapter, probably even BHVR.
That's why Claire and Chris used as legendary costumes.
And Rebecca deserves to be her own character lol, RE storyline started with her game, RE 0

Base-kit Blight is a pretty balanced killer, it just so happens that he has busted add-ons. There's a reason why the roadmap only states his add-ons will be updated.
We don't know yet, nobody is playing base-kit Blight. But his base-kit should not be nerfed, add-ons first. And then we can collect data if his base-kit is fine or not.
Thankfully they are gonna change his add-ons only.

Base-kit? No.
Add-on? Yes.

Killers were respecting DS , so yeah it will help to reduce tunnelling.
Some killers did not care about DS and just picked you up but then you would make good distance and buy good time for your team. So DS maybe did not stop try-hard tunnellers but punished them pretty well.

I don't think Grim Embrace is really a weak perk. I mean, it has a pretty good effect. The problem is that the activation requirement is quite high and 40 seconds of blocked gens mean that survivors can hide that entire time (except the obsession and only if they don't have Distortion).
The idea is nice but the execution poor. They would need to ensure a killer can reliably activate it and get value from it but then they'd come dangerously close to overbuffing it.
I think making it 60 seconds and showing all survivor auras will be good buff. But we will test it on PTB, so if there is problem we can see it.
Current Grim Embrace is just not worth it.

Im with you on that!
I wish for a reduction of reliance on gen regression / gen slowdown. That was the original idea of 6.1.0. Sadly this goal wasnt really accomplished.
The less gen regression / slowdown we NEED, the better.
It failed because gen kicking meta was stacking. It was not too bad on paper. But in action, it was hell to go against.
BHVR need to add some middle game slowdowns, this could help to fair playing killers. Grim Embrace is good example here but it's really so weak. I am hoping upcoming buff / rework brings this perk into good spot.

@radiantHero23 said:

Then that's more of a killer specific problem.
A killer stands against 16 perks. A team of survivors against 4.
Therefore one of the 4 should be more impactful that one of the 16.
I am not against the current gen meta. But i am against to add more. Current gen meta is blocking them or regressing them. You need to choice.
Pop + PR is decent. We should not add another strong regression perk into those 2.
I know people want to see variarty but this will just end with Pop + PR + New Regression Perk. People won't switch their perks, they will use them together.
So i am against new strong anti-gen perks unless if they can't work with current meta and works very differently.

no, you'll still see same strategy. the only difference is now you'll get punished for doing same strategy. this incentives killer to play stronger killers in the chase because they can take DS, re-down quickly and ignore the perk. The killer who get punished by obvious shift-w don't get played anymore or get played less.
It is like saying, "Hit & Run is so free right now, we should re-buff circle of healing so hit & run becomes less viable", That will stop those killers from spreading pressure! that your logic towards tunneling. that logic stops wraith from playing hit & run and encourages wraith to put on 1vs1 add-on like shadow dance. Alternately, you see less people play wraith. that is my analogy to your DS tunneling statement.
Well we have no solution then.
And i am not against to punishing killer for tunnelling, even if they are playing m1 killer. If you are gonna tunnel someone out, there should be some risks.
Hit & run is just fine tho. That's my playstyle on Sadako and i am doing fine.

You have to keep in mind, that there are 4 survivors and one killer.
And one killer can be Nurse or can be Pig.
Current gen perks are pretty strong and they makes B and higher killers perform good enough. C and below are probably have issues tho.

I remember the week she came out, it was just lobbies full of Mikaela and everyone was running CoH. She didn't have any decent cosmetics on release but BHVR started pumping them out after that, likely because her sales were so high. Perhaps she is played alot now because of her cosmetics, but I do think she sold well on release due to her Boon perks. They were a new type of perk, and CoH was extremely good.
Mikaela's default is cute too. We got Gabriel, he also had very strong perk: MfT. But yet, everyone dropped him after unlocked MfT.
So i really don't think perks have effect on survivor popularity. Kate for an example. Her perks was terrible before buffs. But yet she was always so popular. Thalita also got terrible perks but she is also very popular survivor.
Even perks are bad, if survivor is looking nice they will sell no matter what.
-
@Xernoton said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3618786#Comment_3618786
But then you'd have the problem that you would greatly limit the killer's choice in what perks they are allowed to use. BHVR don't have the time to go over every perk and decide, if they want certain cominations to synergise or not. That would take literally forever and would also need to be reconsidered every time a new perk is released or a perk is reworked. So they would need to distribute perks into different categories instead and limit how many slots a killer has for each of them.
Sloppy isn't just the best anti healing perk because it does everything by itself but also because everything else is utter garbage. I mean, what are you supposed to do with Leverage, Coulrophobia (outside of niche builds, that are also hated from what I've seen) and the others? They are just bad.
There have been quite a few complaints about how it's too easy for killers to find survivors now with all the information perks available. UW is just one example. Even Friends Til The End was complained about for that reason, though that seems to have died down. I'll try to remember to point you towards the next complaints that come up.
That's fine to limit strong perks.
Survivors have exhaustion perks but they can use only one at same time.
Survivors also have endurance perks but again, they can use only one at same time.

She's everywhere because everyone bought her for her perks (namely COH)
Not really.
Mikaela is cute survivor and her costumes are good. When you unlock perks, you don't have to play this survivor again. But yet, Mikaela is one of the top survivors.
-
You can use it only when you are healthy, garbage perk. At least other exhaustion perks helps you against tunneller / proxy camper killers. This perk does not.
-
Better Than New is just garbage version of Leader.
Hyperfocus is good perk but i need to bring more perks for make it effective. Instead of that, i just can use better gen speed perks and then i can free my other perk slots. Hyperfocus is just not worth it.
Reassurance is only perk can be meta to counter proxy camping but activate range is so small. So if BHVR buff this perk a bit for larger range, then we can use this perk. Right now activating this perk costs you health state most times. For basement, it's imposible tho.

a lot of people run corrupt for purposes of tunneling and camping. it is not situational perk because every killer benefits from having multiple gens in early stages of the game to A) proxy camp or B) lose gens on purpose to tunnel 1 person out. If you at 1-2 gens and you begin tunneling, you'll lose but if your at 3-4 gens and you begin tunneling, then you can afford to lose 1-3 gens to remove someone from the game. Corrupt delay's early gens to get return on investment in mid-game.
that is my opinion to why perk is so popular. It is sister perk, Deadlock can further cement the above strategy. I don't know. I really dislike the whole gen-blocking meta. I think CI tunneling strategy are band-aid problem with killer no game-delay in their base-kit. Because killer passively lose generator for leaving 4 survivors alive, All killer are just playing for tunnels. The only perk you see that is not gen-blocking that does anything is Pain res but that perk is simply not strong enough on its own.
That's why i am keep asking they need to buff DS. Tunnelling is so free atm and it's braindeadly easy. OTR is supposed to help but it just meh level perk.
Buffing DS will be good nerf to tunnelling and then maybe we can see different strategies again.
-
@Xernoton said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3618615#Comment_3618615
Isn't that what most use anyway? Deadlock / Surge, Corrupt, Pain Res and Pop?
At this point, what are the the devs even supposed to do? Information is a no-no (community says it's too much already), chase perks are either pretty terrible or very unfun to go against, slowdown has the danger of being used in combination and anti healing perks are again either terrible or very unfun to go against.
Stacking is problem, not perks.
If there was way to stop stacking CoB and Overcharge, both perks was just fine by their own.
That's only an example. People are using 3 or 4 slowdown perks together and this is ending with nerfs. That's why CoB, Ruin, Overcharge, Pop etc nerfed. And that's also reason why we are not getting strong anti-gen perks. Because we all know people will use it with PR and Pop.
Non of anti-heal perks are in use because Sloppy is doing everything by itself. It's best anti-heal perk and some killers even can use add-ons instead of perk. So why you even use other perks when you have this?
Information perks never got that much complaints. Right now only Ultimate Weapon got complaints for fair reasons. This perk has very easy values and killer is doing nothing for value. This perk is just outclasses any of other information perks
-
Not really.
Corrupt is maybe good for killers like Myers, Trapper, Hag, Singularity etc but there is better options for most of killers. Some killers need to build their powers, so corrupt is here to help them.
But there is no reason to use it on most killers.
-

https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3618310#Comment_3618310
Of course all killers have limits but that is not quite the point. My point was that some killers limits are comparitively low. Lower than what survivors can consistently achieve, if they play well enough. Take any A-tier killer for example and put them to the test against a low tier killer. The low tier killer will be able to keep up quite well (assuming the play pretty good) until they reach a certain point. That is the point where these lower tier killers will have the issue, that they cannot create opportunities for themself in a timely manner (building up bloodlust still works but is not an effective strategy because it takes too long) and instead have to rely on the survivors making mistakes.
What if these mistakes don't happen? Or what if these mistakes aren't grand enough for the killer to capitalise? Then the low tier killer is in a pretty spot. Our A-tier killer in comparison (let's say it's a Huntress), still has the strength to force survivors into lose-lose situations. A crazy good Huntress will find spots where the survivor gets hit no matter how good they are. She will also be able to do some things that are more unexpected than a M1 killer mind game, that the survivor has already seen a million times before.
Of course the possibilities vary among high tier killers too but to say that all killers will achieve equal results, if you just play them well enough would imply either:
1) All killers are significantly stronger than survivors (extremely killer sided game considering that we do consider different killers to be way stronger or weaker than others)
or
2) All killers are equally strong once you reach a certain level of gameplay (wrong because Nurse literally teleports through walls and hits you anywhere, where a M1 killer still has to follow the game's rules)
Both of these implications are wrong, so we can conclude, that the initial assumption was wrong as well.
Even weakest killers are above 50% , so i don't know. I am not saying weakest killers should not be buffed but most of killers are just doing fine. This game is not favoring survivors. Even most of SWF teams are very much defeatable.

No matter how good you are, if your killer limits you beneath what the survivors achieve, then you are not the power role. That doesn't mean you absolutely cannot win (sometimes a single down can lead to everything falling into place) but it does mean that you are not in control and rely on the survivors making (sometimes massive) mistakes instead of creating opportunities for yourself.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3618299#Comment_3618299
Then you are lucky not to go against the kind of people that control your match. I agree that you get pretty far just by playing good but at some point, you simply cannot keep up anymore, if your killer is too weak.
I definitely agree with that bit about Freddy. It's sad but the survivors have arguable more control over his power than Freddy himself.
Except Nurse and Blight, all killers have limits. Those limits are what makes them balanced.
Oni is so strong killer but his power is limited time and he need to built it.
Wesker is so strong killer but his limit is 2 charges.
Chucky is very strong killer but his limit is long cooldown.
Huntress is best range killer but her limit is numbered hatches and movement speed.
I can list more. Those killers needs limits. If you remove those limits, they will be new Nurses and Blights.
Problem ls some killers have so much limits and they need to be looked. Billy, Trapper, Pig, Myers, Freddy etc. But overall killers are just fine.
Game is already favoring killers with 60% kill-rate. Some people just want to win all matches because killer need to be "Power Role". And then what's the point of playing survivor when you know there is no chance to win?
So like i said, killer is already power role and they should not change this so much. Weak killers should take some love however.
-
@Xernoton said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3618255#Comment_3618255
I wouldn't simplify it that much. Trapper is not the power role and neither are Clown and Freddy.
Some killers are weak but that does not change the fact. Killer is power role. Kill rates favours killers. It was around 60% when they shared it last time.
If we were looking for power role, killer is power role right now. If people really asking 80 - 90% killrate, this will never happen. There will be zero reason to play survivor and it's already so bad atm.
-
Xeno, Nemesis, Wesker, Sadako and Chucky. I also mained old Freddy as well. My kill rate around 70 - 80%.
But however my escape rate is probably around 20 - 30%
So i really don't know how people are saying killer is not power role. Do we need 100% kill-rate for this
I forgot to add, i am also playing Clown so much as well.

I'll leave a question here: For you, what makes The Tricksters so miserable or unfun to play against?
Since his rework, we've been collecting feedback on how he feels, and we do want to know from both sides, Killers and Survivors. I'm happy to listen to as much constructive feedback on how you feel facing against him as you (and any Survivor player) wants to share. Are there specific parts of his rework that you dislike or are frustrating to play against? Something that you feel was overturned and worked better pre-update 7.4.0 (or the fixes since then)?
He had only one counter, long walls. Now even this gone. Because he is now 4.6m speed killer. DbD is fun when both sides can outplay each other. When killer's power interactive for both sides.
Trickster? Take blades until you get hit. If wall is long, get m1. Dodge his 2 knifes but 3rd and 4th is on the way to hit you. The question is who thought this killer will be fun for both sides?
Huntress is so much better than him, for both sides.

Idk man, they all have their issues that make them extremely bad.
You forgot house of pain, and other than the two car loops, all other loops that spawn in the map are pretty safe and a mandatory break unless you want to bloodlust. Two story house also has strong loops unless you break the walls, which again is a waste of time.
Not saying that Bandham is worse than GoJ, but it's not better imho.
Haddonfield is debatable I guess, I'm still not sure how to classify that map. It has a few strong windows but it's pretty much a deadzone of a map other than that...
Well BHVR just don't know how to make good maps.
All reworks lately turned garbage.
Borgo is now full of dead zones. They said they fixed it but from my exp, it's just not true. Map is still so bad and full with deadzone.
Red Forest is fine i guess by size and loops? But gens are now so close to each other. I can hold 4 gens together, no joke.
Garden of Joy at least still bad map as before. They did not break anything, it's still broken.
I really prefer them to not touch maps because they are somehow making them worse.

Check out any relevant vote with many participants about which killers are fun to play. Billy is almost always top 10 or at least very close to that. If you personally agree or not is your thing of course and i respect that opinion. How i see it is that a killer who is in the top 1/3 to play as and against is extremly rare, so i think it is safe to say we can considere Billy still one of the best killers we have.
I agree tho, he is not as amazing as he used to be. But that is just my opinion.
How so ?
I only called mistakes Knight, Trickster, Twins and SM. Rest is fine.

Agree with one exception.
Badham is still home to the original house of pain.
That loop, played correctly, can extend a chase for almost 2 minutes. I've seen it happen.
House of Pain is kinda rng. If it has god vault, yeah it's pretty much busted. But exception of that, only one pallet and when it's gone , it's done.
Maybe they should remove this windows.
