Going Hit and Run Ghost Face and Wraith is a miserable experience right now with CoH killing the Pressure out right.
I miss the times when as a Wraith and Ghost Face you can see Survivors healing with plenty of time to get there to disrupt them and be scary af. Now Survivors are healing what feels like 20 secs after letting them go.
Hit and Run Strats made Nurse Calling A Tier back in 2019 and 2020. Now I don't see much value on Nurse Calling which is a shame.
It's still a good perk. It just became irrelevant overtime because after Ruin 1.0 nerf, gen times became and remained a problem which caused the slowdown meta.
When the CoH meta came out, that was 'A Nurses Calling' calling card, but gen speeds were still a problem, which kept A Nurses Calling irrelevant.

She’s always been S tier. The nerf only affected standing still and nothing else. It was the only thing that needed a fix on her basekit.
As a former dedicated spirit main, you are a fool. Most former Spirit mains also dropped her because outside of MDR+DCB it's too easy for survivors to pinpoint her location while phasing which ultimately defeated the purpose of her kit.
They used to say "You just need a good pair of headphones to play Spirit" now it's "You need a good pair of headphones to counter Spirit"

Dev seems to forget they have an out-of-spec killer called Nurse
Think what the future holds, u will play against Nurse with Jolt without cooldown + Soopy butcher + Thanatophobia and other fantasy perks , and u need 90s to do a gen basicly , once u get hit u need 45S to selfcare. Otherwise, the next time the nurse sees you, you're basically waiting to lie down.
Nurse can fly through all the map ,hit one surv and then back to the hook repeatedly. No one can unhook and the gens can not fix .
This is the biggest problem of the game
How do you suggest nerfing her without giving her Rin Yamaoka treatment.
You nerf Nurse any further she might as well delete her.
I hate to ask this but, Why does it take butchering a killer to where they are no longer played for survivors to be happy?
Billy got reworked and butchered. No one plays him.
Freddy got reworked than butchered. No one plays him.
Spirit got reworked and butchered. She's seen as often as a full moon with her best add-ons.
What's it going to take for us to realize as a community asking for killer nerfs is essentially asking to make the killer unplayable.

They addressed the issue with DH, we need to thankful about that, while at the same time, I don't think it's going to be problematic at all but we'll see.

@TheArbiter said:
Ehhhh idk, then what would be the point of a perk like blood echo existing? Trust me i agree he needs a buff but not in that way
Here's the issue with using Blood Echo to counter DH that people are overlooking.
1. It's going to require running a build that discourages survivors from healing. Only 2 killers have this ability passively! Plague and Legion because survivor's don't heal against these killers.
2. To get any value out of Blood Echo, the killer needs to end chases quickly and traverse the map very quickly. Only 2 killers excel at this. Nurse and Blight!

I feel like a test before you buy could be a great feature to see if the killer your considering on getting is exactly what you want and could help give a more transparent idea on how these killers play instead of just reading a description about there abilities and play style. Something like this could be implemented for survivors as well, but i think it's more important for killers first if something like this would be implemented.
They use to have this feature! It was called Smoking/Glass/etc. Splinter, and it was a offering. Except you didn't keep your perks.
Idk why they got rid of it, but they should have kept it, because I regret buying Sadako.

They hate the perks because it makes it harder for them to tunnel someone.
I have to disagree, idk why survivor's think all killer's wanna do is tunnel the whole match.Wanna know why I disagree?
@Johnny_XMan said:
Killers hate UB - But they love the fact that they can slug for unlimited amounts of time with 0 downside.
Killers hate DS- But they love the ability to tunnel, because where they felt it was unfair that they got DS'd they don't see that tunneling someone without DS is ALSO unfair.
Killers hate BT- But they love how easy of a strat it is to come back to the hook, or pretend to leave the hook only to come back, or flat out camp. None of them complain about how easy it is for them to do that.
You know why they don't like those perks? Because it makes their access to those strats much harder to pull off, where survivors can at least have a chance and it doesn't make it easier for them to simply tunnel or camp someone out.
The perks alone, by themselves are fine.
BT: No issues
UB: No issues
DS: No issues now that perk is truely risk/reward
The synergy between them is what makes them hated because it's too many chances!
Kate rescues Dwight, Dwight takes a hit with BT. Killer chases Dwight to slug him for some pressure. Dwight gets downed, but the killer can hear Kate's grunts of pain, and chases Kate who's waiting to get a flasahlight save. Kate goes down and gets hooked. Dwight who instigated the whole situation while slugged use UB, killer chases Dwight into a locker because Dwight still has an active DS.
The perk alone are fine, but the synergy between them gives too many second chances for one scenario.

There are people who say you can bait out Dead Hard for distance, or bait it out as Nurse when in fatigue.
Do these people not play killer, are they trolling, or is there something I'm not getting?
If you think Dead Hard is counterable and fair, please tell me why.
It's natural to defend what makes what side strong. I personally believe that people that say DH is fair either don't play other PvP games or don't know what risk/reward means and if I'm being honest, this community (survivor specifically) isn't ready to talk about risk/reward.

Just got shamed by a killer because at the start of the match me and my solo teammates all spread out on family's residence and did the first 3 gens solo.
They were playing Clown so obviously they were not going to do well against people who spread out, in the end it was 4e but in end game chat he wrote nice gen rush and that we did 3 gens super fast ???
I mean I am not really sure what people who use this term are expecting survivors to do when they are not in a chase. If they hover around to do flashlight saves or sabo plays then it's toxic, when you do do a gen you are gen rushing ?
In personally don't consider it silly, because it is a thing. But you really can't blame survivors though.
Survivors don't have enough obj prior to gens. They have to rely on the the killer for another objective.

I will disagree with allowing DH to be used on the distance as the main concept of the perk. There's nothing involved and requires no skill or risk in this case, pretty much a safe route for the survivor where the killer cannot do anything against it. Speaking about DbD being a competitive game right now, people would get extremely frustrated at the unfairness of this perk if changed the way you want, looking at the current main complains.
It will make the community burning even more, I'd look for a DH rework instead or another nerf idea but definitely never in my life to agree on "let's make it only for distance" or to even support this use in the game.
Even by removing the invicibility, still a majority of killers are barred. I don't think we want a perk that provides a guaranteed safe escape in this game, at least by taking a risk, but not like that.
Your the only person I've seen mention "risk" and honestly that's all the perk needs. A risk factor, but let's be honest. This community isn't ready to talk about risk/reward!
-
As a former spirit main not really. What made her good was her unpredictability. The reason why most Spirit players dropped her
1. Survivors recieve too much information which defeats the purpose of her kit.
2. Chase music is too loud, by the time you start moving in phase chase music starts dying down and by than it's already too late to track by sound.
3. Iron Will pretty much turns her into Helen Keller with a sword.
She's not that great anymore, and her Grandpa is very very upset about it.

DH is the only problematic exhaustion perk because its no risk high reward.
SB: Survivors will eventually get caught exhausted
BL: Survivors might go down before using the perk
Lithe: Once killers identify lithe it's easy hits
All these exhaustion perks have a risk factor to them. DH for distance, has 0 risk

Corrupt, Pop, Scourge and Ruin are under the radar to get nerfed/reworked (alongside survivor second chance perks). But nerfing gen regression perks is really unhealthy for the game, and will encourage more tunneling and camping. Let me speak for myself first, i use Corrupt so the first gen or two doesn't get done in the first minute of the match. Scourge hooks and pop reward the killer for going for chases and hooks, which is a much better playstyle than camping or tunneling (exactly what survivor mains want right?). So if you nerf these gen regression perks then killers will know they don't stand a chance against gen speed, so they'll resort to tunneling one person out asap to even the odds. Gen regression perks is the only thing stopping me from camping and tunneling, without them you can't go for loads of chases and hooks against good and efficient survivors (because all gens could be done in 5 mins). Why do you think killers are using so much gen defense perks anyways? I'd love to use more chase perks and creative builds, but due to gen speed it just isn't possible (maybe possible against not so efficient teams). Endgame is longer than the actual match without gen defense perks. So yeah if you nerf gen defense, say hello to more tunneling and camping.
This is why I wish they would give us old ruin back. It either got cleansed in a matter of seconds at the beginning of the trial or lasted until you got at least 3 hooks.
Im all for BHVR tuning slow down and regression perks to see what their next move is going to be, but I doubt they'll address the reasoning why killers run slowdown

Its fundamentally the two biggest bullcrap perks to exist in this game. 2nd chance perks should just be nerfed at this point. The idea that you as a Killer can play completely correctly and all it takes is some guy to conveniently dead hard or DS you to Change a game from a 4k to everyone escaping. Why isnt Decisive Strike in Exhaustion? Why is the time limit a minute long? Why is dead hard invulnerability frames such an extreme length. This trade off is unbearable.
the meta perks have been the same 6(now 8 due to boons and gen speeds for survivors being insane) for years. Its time to rotate out these horribly deigned perks completely and let some not-so-used perks become the new meta for awhile. This is just a bad choice by the developers to continue to allow 2nd Chance Perks to be the factor to an entire match. Its infuriating at this point.
DS is in a healthy spot now, due to it having a risk factor.
DH on the other hand either needs a risk factor added to it, or needs to be changed completely!

And again people really think that every Survivor just negates an error with DH?
The good Survivors, aka those were DH might be problematic, dont make a mistake, they are greedy because DH allows them to play greedy. The bad Survivors who make mistake are not really an issue with DH. Those are the guys who DH for distance in an open field or plant their face into a wall while using DH.
So what makes DH problematic?
I'm not addressing that you said DH in a dead zone or into the wall because 95% of community agrees that's not the issue with perk.
This "Greeding loops" and "DH for distance" is a issue all around. As i've said multiplae times before. The survivor community isn't ready to talk about risk-reward, especiallly the fact tghat they are more focused on the 1v1 and not the 1v4.

So your entire basis of strength is popularity? So then Legion must be a top tier killer now everyone plays them right? Artist is worse than Trapper too, by that logic.
This isn't nessesarily about popularity and it has nothing to do with strength.
Again for the 6th time, why call it a justified nerf if no one plays them?
WHY DOES IT TAKE NOT SEEING THE KILLER ANYMORE FOR PEOPLE TO SAY THAT THE NERF IS JUSTIFIED?
Rin Yamaoka's uniqueness was taken from her so that survivors could have consistent counterplay. Her only add-on combo that gives her uniqueness survivors want it nerfed, and if BHVR nerfs it she'll die AGAIN!

Which was exactly the problem with the killer and what made it op in the first place
People asked for months to nerf spirit or give it a kind of counterplay which never existed. There was NO counterplay to old spirit, just a coin toss on the survivor side
The ONLY "counterplay" was to predrop every pallets you encountered
The nerf was totally deserved and when sit got nerf, spirit "mains because she is fun to play not because she is op ^^" stopped playing it altogether
And what was wrong with predeopping pallets?
And why is guessing a problem for survivors in this game, when most PvP games you are guessing to get somewhere?
Again you can not justify a nerf when no one plays the killer anymore.
Sally was nerfed and people still player her, that's a justified nerf.
Billy was nerfed, and I've lost count of the last time I saw him, which is a unjustified nerf.
Pig got a add on rework, and I still haven't seen her since her EGC nerf.
If you don't see what I'm getting at than let me ask you this.
Why does it take nerfing a killer to where no one plays them for survivors to be happy?

Yeah, so, proving my point "she isnt op anymore and not really fun to play"
If that's how you see it, than go ahead and believe that.
But the reason why I stopped playing her isn't because she's no longer OP (never saw her as OP in the beginning)
I stopped playing her because they took away her unpredictability, which is what made her 'stand a chance'

Now that she isnt the best killer in the game (yes, she was better than nurse with the right addons), people dont play her cos they know its not fun to play
Tldr : killer isnt op anymore but stayed a not fun to play killer > people dont play her
(Btw she still is one of the best killer in the game, just in the top 5 instead of the top1)
As a former spirit main and most former spirit players I've talked to. We stopped playing her because BHVR nerfed her to be like every other killer and gave survivors too much information to counter her

Killer instinct add ons is essentially giving her a 4th sense, since she can't see or hear.

What, specifically, do you mean by "took away what made her kit unique"? As I understand it, aside from add-ons, the only thing Spirit lost was the stand-still mindgame.
If you think stand still was the only unique thing about her, then you either never played as her or never tried using her in other ways.
What made old Spirit unique was her unpredictability. Get a hit on survivor and they start running towards the shack, she could phase around the shack and get the down.
But Spirit was nerfed like every other killer so survivors could have pinpoint information on how to react. Killers guessing is fine, but survivors guessing is a problem.

If you think Spirit is "gutted" you aren't very good at the killer. She went from the undisputed 2nd best killer to top 5, and that isn't even debatable. You can 100% still mind game survivors, they just have a chance against her phase now. At mind gameable pallets you can Phase one direction, go the other way and lunge and no human can react to that. She still has multiple good add ons, and some really ez mode ones too if you want to really shut your brain off while playing her. I can absolutely blame players for misusing her power and then whining she's bad now. If you know they have IW you need to play around that. Position in places that footsteps are loud, or there is high grass. If they stop running every time you phase cut your phase short. The Spirit is still incredibly strong, she just lost the phase ez win. Look at nurse, she's statistically one of the least played and successful killers, yet is undisputedly the best killer in the game. If you are failing to perform as Spirit, that is on you as a player not adapting to her changes and wanting ez mode phase back. She has all the tools she needs to succeed in a trial.
I still do well with her, I just don't enjoy playing as/against her anymore because they literally took away what made her kit unique, and that "CHANCE against her phasing" was literally a handicap for survivor's and gives them 'ez mode'.
Play around IW? Spirit is a 110 killer meaning she has to use her power to win chases. How do you play around something that literally erases survivor's existence? That's like playing Hide and Seek with Helen Keller with her being IT
-
@TruEternity said:
I disagree that spirit needs positive adjustments, bug fixes sure but she’s at a good power level. I’m not going to even address the comparisons to Blight, since his add ons are currently way overtuned. So I’ll address the four points you brought up about Spirit;
2&3: Bugs, not relevant to her direct power, as these just need to be fixed. So when discussing killers these shouldn’t even come up, as they’re unintended.
1 is a misuse of her power, and is on you as a player. If you are expending your entire power to catch up to a survivor and they haven’t used an exhaustion perk that’s on you. As Spirit you should never be using more than half your power unless you know you’re getting a hit. If you aren’t playing around a survivors build, that’s also on you as a player, don’t burn all your power unless you know for a fact it’s a hit/down. You can easily mind game non god pallets by going one way and reversing to get the hit.
4 is intended as far as I know, Spirit has always lost a small chunk of her power when cancelling her power early, even if you just tap phase. I assume it’s to balance out her not reviving her power to fast after ending a phase early. I could love with that being removed but it’s in no way a game changer, more a small buff to qol.
Spirit is in a great spot right now. She’s powerful with actual counterplay. She just lost her easy mode downs so people no longer play her.
I will never understand why people saying she's "in a good spot" say this. Why does butchering a killer to where no one hardly plays them mean "They're in a good spot"?
"She lost her easy mode downs" Name one pvp game besides DBD where your actions aren't 'Heads or Tails' and the coin always lands on whatever side you say?
Misuse of her power? I'm sorry but you can't 100% place the blame on the player especially when
- Sounds are drowned out by chase music
- IW literally making survivors non-existent
- Survivors receiving way too much information to counter her
She has no mind games anymore. They said you needed a good pair of headphones to play Rin Yamaoka. That's all you really need to counter her now. Survivors even screaming nerf her strongest add on combo even though that combo is why she does well. But let's gut her even further than have survivors question why she isn't used anymore.

It should be clear by now the Legion buff was entirely too far. The community, especially survivors, is not having a good time against him. There is no counterplay to his power and the amount of time mending all match is absurd. With perks like Sloppy Butcher, Ruin, thanatophobia, and so many of these perks it is literally impossible to do the survivor objective. But most importantly, he is miserable to play against. I would rather play against a Prayer Beads Spirit. I never thought I would ever say such a thing.
As survivor, the teams have only managed to escape once or twice. All the other matches if you look at the player statuses, the entire team is a broken state or mending state 24x7. He is too fast and zero counterplay to his power.
As killer, I played about 5 matches. In 3 of those matches the survivors were paralyzed and I won all 5. I quit playing because it was clearly too easy.
Sure, the new music is nice but it is not a fair game. I hope we get an announcement soon of a correction patch.

If none of what I've said seems appealing then maybe it's time to move on, but I encourage people to think about it at least.
As a survivor: Nothing, I reframe from using meta perks because they cover up for a lack of skill

What? The reworked addons are a ~huge~ buff. They literally took some of his old best addons, like his iri and his green recovery, and made them browns
Olsen's wallet is nuts. Drop-leg Knife sheath is nuts. Outdoor security camera is nuts. He even has exhaust addons! Nothing was worse than sneaking up on someone, marking them, and then they sprint burst away. Now you can be the one sprint bursting towards them instead!
Crazy that people think M1 ghostface is the way to go when Wraith exists. Stalking is 100% how to play him, and he's got the addons to do it so much better now
Huge, huge buffs were had

Not even close. Nurse is limited by what the character can do. She has two blinks, and that's it. How is that the highest skill ceiling?
Many other killers can perform more actions in the same timeframe as those two blinks, requiring just as much precision and prediction
Wait.., what??! So because she only has one playstyle, that eliminates her from having the highest skill ceiling even though her power takes the longest to master and is the hardest out of all killers?
Your labelling Blight above her skill cap, because he has his own playstyle and if it doesn't work he can just resort to the same playstyle as 90% of the killer roaster?
I'm super confused and at the same time under impression you either don't play Nurse or you haven't mastered her.
I play all killer's and imma let you know right now, no killer in the game comes remotely close to Nurse's skill ceiling besides Billy!

Nurses don't lose distance if they make mistakes with range add-ons. And that's not even mentioning how they are just straight busted right now and give her extra blink speed on top of the extra range.
I gotta lol @ the nurses who think they are gods for playing her. Like really, she is not that hard. Get over yourself.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2923907#Comment_2923907
That's Blight my guy. Nurse barely requires any skill once you get the muscle memory of the blinks down. Or you can use Plaid Flannel and not even need to do that.
Nurse possess the highest skill ceiling. You say "She's just muscle memory" yeah you know how long it takes to develop that muscle memory?
Clearly you don't play Sally or enough of her, because her skill isn't just muscle memory, it's reading and anticipating what survivors are going to do and adjusting your strat to get the survivor. But because survivor's don't have a way to consistently have the advantage over her she's busted.
Where as Blight, you just pinball into a wall and take advantage of your speed and hope you positioned yourself properly to get to the survivor.

Nurse isn’t the only killer that can counter dead hard. If you play smart, then you can bait dead hard out fast with any killer. Dead hard is more like the only thing that works good against killers like nurse who are oppressive.
Also, if nurse is carrying the community, then by that logic dead hard is carrying an even bigger community and therefore shouldn’t be nerfed too.
I would agree with a dead hard nerf if some killers and killer add ons get serious nerfs too.
Let me know when you bait out DH for distance and succesfully counter it without using ranged killers(Plague, Huntress, Trickster, Slinger, Nemisis) or Nurse!

Add-ons:
Sadako needs add-on help because her add-ons are either useless or BHVR was too cautious as always
Old Newspaper: Base Kit, better mind game potental at loops
Clump of Hair: Base Kit, give her a better chance at ambushing unsuspecting survivor's
Mother's Comb: Base Kit, TVs are her power why shouldn't she know when a TV has been turned off
Iri Videotape: Base Kit, I'd change this to where maybe if survivor's carry a tape they become exposed and reveal there location until they get rid of the tape!

They can’t nerf dead hard rather because there’s nurse in the game. She would be even more overpowered 🤷♂️
I understand your concerns, but out of all killers in the game, 1 killer shouldn't be the only counter to a perk because that killer forces the perk to be used as intended!
I see where your coming from, but I would rather them nerf and gut a perk, rather than nerf and gut a killer that's carrying the community.

The question is, do killer want to learn the hard way how strong the other exhaustion perks can be?
Those other strong perks have counterplay!
Survivors say SB will become meta if DH gets nerfed.
Survivors will either get caught exhausted from SB, or SB to a dead zone, or Mind breaker/Fearmonger will become meta.

I hope you weren’t talking to me. I’m a console nurse and I have been playing her since the pig came out. I’m not asking for her to get nerfed I’m saying IF we DO nerf her then you can only nerf her addons otherwise she would be bad
Again, your asking to nerf the things that make her a threat. 90% of her add-ons are useless!

The distance is what makes DH busted.
This, but let's be honest. The survivor community ain't ready to talk about Risk/Reward

Yeah imma say it right now!
Your essentially complaining about the things that makes nurse a threat and I doubt you know this because you don't play Nurse!
Asking for Nurse nerfs is playing with fire while dealing with a double edged sword.
1. Nobody seems to understand that when strong killers get reworked they get gutted. Billy, Freddy, and Spirit for examples
2. Nerfing Nurse could potentially be the straw that breaks the camel's back because she's the only killer left carrying the community
3. Nerfing Nurse will be taking away from the variety pool. In otherwords, Blight will be the only killer seen at high levels
Be careful what you wish for, I suggest you get good with Nurse, get to high level MMR and try to understand why these add-ons are used before complaining.

Title.
For me, it'd have to be Hex: Pentimento. I recently decided to use it together with Hex: Ruin and Hex: Undying and holy.
It puts Survivors in a big lose/lose scenario. Either deal with Hex: Ruin, which is a pain on Artist, or go out of your way to cleanse 2 Totems, only for them to become Rekindled Totems and now you repairing and healing 30% slower.
It doesn't last the whole Trial, as they're Hex Perks, but for the time they're active, the game's on halt
As a killer my guilty pleasure perk is Make Your Choice (MYC), the perk is underrated and does wonders on high mobility killers
